Mainly the front patio and bar area tends to be the busiest. Staff were all amazing and friendly which is a major plus. Nobody wants to come an establishment where service is snooty and rude. Everyone was a major doll and the sweetest. Our waiter, I didn't get his name was the sweetest. As it was HH, they only had that menu available. Limited but still decent for what was offered. A good selection in cocktails items and for the price, they were great. As for food, same with limited items but pricing was great. They're known for the Mac and cheese with hot Cheetos as pretty much loads of the tables had ordered it. We've had it prior but this time opted out on it. Started off with one of their sangria which comes either red or white and an old fashioned. Both on the HH menu and very reasonable for 7.00 a pop. Cant beat that. Sangria was quite refreshing with the fruit slices while the old fashioned, it was strong. Actually worth it for 7.00. Food, a mixture of things to share. An order of their fries with parsley and rosemary with an aioli sauce for dipping, 8.00. The braised cheddar brat with house mustard, caramelized onions, Calabrian chili with basil and shallot for 11.00. Quite tasty and flavorful with all the topping and served in a nice roll. The chicken sandwich which was quite big. Fried chicken with cheddar and American cheese, chef sauce, pickles on a benne seed bun for 11.00. And lastly the attic cheeseburger with new school American cheese, pickles, grilled onion aioli, caramelized onions on a benne seed bun cooked medium for 12.00. It was tasty but between that and the chicken sandwich, chicken takes the leads. Pricewise for the sandwiches was great. Everything is à la carte on the menu. They do have other main dishes but we just stuck to the sandwiches. Also a second round of drinks was had. The mango margaritas and the classic. Both tasty and for 7.00 a pop, can't beat that. The whole experience was great. Service was excellent and all the staff were amazing. Patio seating is great as it's perfect for people watching and enjoying the outdoor. Until next time.

I am so pissed that I lived around the corner from this place for 4 YEARS and just went there for the first time the other night!!! I weep for all the fried chicken I could've been eating all these years but didn't because I messed up and slept on Lacquered!! Don't make the same mistake as me!! Their fried chicken is indeed "the best fried chicken in Long Beach" - 100% lives up to this claim! The crunch, the flavor, the juiciness of the chicken itself *chef's kiss* (and I know a chef's kiss, because I am a chef!) The most difficult part is choosing which sauces to get with your order haha. I picked honey mustard, soy lacquer, and tomato jam (housemade ketchup) -- all were so delish! Can't wait to try the other sauces as well. We got the mustard slaw to go with the fried chicken and it complimented the chicken perfectly. The spicy fried chicken sandwich is absolutely massive and most likely the best fried chicken sandwich I've ordered in a restaurant. I love the ranch dressed salad in place of regular lettuce, such a nice touch. I dream about that flavor bomb!! I only wish I would've taken more pictures haha I also love that the owners are super dog friendly! They make puppy treats and snacks as well. We got the pig ear, which was devoured in the park, and they also gave us a free sample of their new wellness dog cookie -- so sweet and my dog was a big fan! Wow....lol, this Kirk R just got a bad rep by the LA TIMES and is now a laughing stock on Twitter too, and rightfully so! Now everyone knows the kind of person she/he is (not only for what she/he did but for also looking stupid and under-educated for spelling bright as "brite" lol). People like 'KIRK R' who spew hate and racism are nothing more than hateful/ignorant people who thrives on putting others down just to feel important the way bullies do which is very evident if you look through the majority of Kirk R's reviews, 9/10 of the reviews shows hateful 1-star reviews all across the board. I recently got fried chicken from Lacquered. It was second only to my mommas (just in case she sees this...but really it was better). The owners are kind, passionate, professionally trained chefs who only source the best products. And every bite of every dish I had was amazing. Love the noodles and slaw. I have eaten here since they opened, and every time, it's a pleasure. Support small, chef owned businesses. YALL! lacquered makes the fries of my dreams. crunchy, hot, and soft on the inside. thick cut with the skin on. homemade sauces to dip. HUGE PORTIONS, super reasonably priced. there's no doubt that chef diana and her team care so much about getting it right. never a detail missed. and btw, you won't lose any crunch to ordering takeout! it's hot and crunchy every time, packaged perfectly (and in sustainable packaging!) to avoid any sogginess. read more

This time we needed to pass a little time while waiting for the nearby post office to open back up, so decided to try the small food court that is an offshoot of the courthouse. One can access it without having to go through the heavy security that is provided for protection when entering...instead the food court has doors leading directly to the outside (where there is also al fresco dining). The food court as of 2024 consists of a coffee shop (Coffee Bean), a national fast food shop (Subway), and two locally owned restaurants: one Mexican (Hacienda Franco) and one a Grill serving classics regardless of which culture it originated from. It is only open during the work week (M-F) when the courthouse is open. While my wife found us a place to sit, I ordered and waited for my food at Savoury Grill. It's not a high output operation...there were two people working there when I placed my order, and once the front of house went for lunch, the gentlemen who had prepared the food also boxed it for me as well. One really nice touch was when I asked for water, they provided it complementary in a boba tea container, including the plastic heat sealed film that the asian milk tea places provide. We got a lot of food for what we paid. The savoury wings basket ($9.95) consisted of 6 bone-in chicken wings (choice of sauce, with us choosing classic buffalo) with french fries at the bottom. The price for this was great, but the chicken was of poor quality....reminded me of the time when I bought cheap chicken wings from an Asian grocer and I had to make sure the skin had been completely defeathered before using. This wasn't the case here, but the wings still having the wing tips, along with miscellaneous crushed bones didn't make it the most appetizing. I also got the Hawaiian Fried Rice ($12.95). It had large chunks of Spam, pieces of pineapple, and small pieces of chicken. It's a popular dish in SouthEast asian restaurants, though I've never understood why it is significantly more expensive than other fried rice, just because you add some pineapple. In this case, the price was similar to the other fried rice....and they give you A LOT. It tasted good too. They do have Loco Moco on the menu, but was unfortunately out this time. It's a dish that I will definitely try next time...it would be a great thing to have a place this close to my home that serves one of my favorite dishes.

It's order and pay, with a cash register probably from the 70's (though they do take credit cards through a separate machine), so no itemized bill here. The food does get delivered to your table (it's a very small dining area with probably 6 booths), and you self-bus (strangely they didn't have a garbage can...instead two used dish containers: one for the reusable baskets and one for the garbage). The order is taken by hand on an old diner type notepad, so asked for the order to be repeated back to me, and the cashier did it was a smile. My mother-in-law treated, and she got a Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich Combo ($11.99) with a Pepsi and fries. It comes with a sauce, so chose thousand island on the side. She really enjoyed it, eating the whole thing and most of her fries. My wife got a plain jr ch. burger ($4.99). I got a 1/4 hamburger ($6.69) with everything on it and a request for extra lettuce (which was ignored...sigh). The lettuce is shredded, and the burger patty is char-broiled on a gas grill. A small chili cheese fries ($8.69) was delivered as the side with my burger and it was very, very good with a mound of shredded cheese on top. Definitely needed a fork with that. Also got a strawberry shake ($7.29) which we shared. It tasted like it was made from real ice cream, and was great, especially with the large dollop of canned whipped cream on top. What I'll remember about this visit: -- the genuinely kind cashier who also delivered our food, one plate at a time as it was prepared. This meant the food was delivered fresh and hot, and it was our choice if we wanted to wait for all plates to come (which took a little bit) before we started. I much rather have this, than other places where they will wait till all dishes are plated before delivering, often meaning one or two dishes are cold before even coming to the diners. Definitely was the reason why this was bumped up to a five. -- the chili here is the kind I really like, and one of the best I've had in the area. It would have been great even as just a bowl, and was delicious. My wife and I ended up finishing the entire chili-cheese fries, and it was a big portion (and the fries were not the best...wished it had been fried longer).
