A friend told me about this cafe; we visited the next day. La Parada Cafe is very warm and comfortable inside. Andrea, who took our order, was wonderful. Friendly, efficient, perfect timing. As for the food, it was excellent. Chips and salsa were great. Not sure what my friend ordered, but he loved it. (In the photos) I ordered a ribeye omelette and it was perfect. Total: 4.5 stars One of my favorite places in town for Brunch (review will be for brunch items). They have American classic breakfast and also Mexican food brunch options which my boyfriend prefers. Also surprised with all the seafood options for brunch too. Def a hidden gem. Ambiance: Bright, welcoming, cozy and clean. There is parking in the front but also lots of parking in the back. Food: Solid delicious food with great portions. Inflation is real and with lots of places scaling back but charging more this place have kept the portion sizes the same from my observation within in the year. I get the country fried steak or the chilaquiles. These places typically come with toast and potatoes. The cafe de olla is yummy too! Service: Great service every-time we come here. They get food to you in a reasonable amount of time and tries to keep you updated as much as they can especially when they get busy. When we went last weekend we were originally just 2 people dining in but then told the server that it would actually be 6 people in total since my cousin and her family decided to join us and she was still super kind and understood. She also let me know before moving to a bigger table that our food would come out first and to please be patient with them if it takes a while for the rest of the party's food to come out. There was a misunderstanding with back of house and only 1 out of 4 items came out and the kids breakfasts were one of the forgotten things. They got it fixed quickly after our server realized the mistake. BUT Had to doc .5 because my nephew was accused of already eating his bacon which was never there to begin with because I saw the plate when it came out. At that point after all the mishaps if I was working there or even the owner I would not assume that something was already consumed I would just apologize and get that missing item no questions asked. For me, one really good sign to see when you first walk onto a restaurant is lots of people of the nationality of the restaurant eating there. This was the case at La Parada Cafe as I was by far the minority and was glad for that. The first thing that caught my attention was that they did not bring chips and salsa to the table. It is on the menu, but for $6.00, there was no way I was ordering it. Maybe they are trying to break tradition, but it was a big turn-off for me as I love good chips and salsa. I had a vegetarian burrito for $12.00, and as you can see, it was very plain. It did have pretty good flavor but mostly rice with a few beans and veggies. This place should have 5 stars . The food is made from scratch and tastes homemade. We stayed at the GSR and we were so disappointed with the food options. We decided to stop here before we left back home. I kid you not - this is one of the best if not the best breakfasts I've ever had. My family of 3 ate for $54. At the GSR it was $100 every time we ate for some garbage disgusting food . We are always going to come here when we oven to Reno. They are so friendly as well. This spot came highly recommended from a friend so we decided to try it the morning of my birthday. First off, the ambiance is CUTE. Bright colors and lights hanging from the ceiling made the space feel modern and fun. We were seated right away--despite it being very busy--but with just two of us, it was easier to get a table. My fiancé got the huevos rancheros and I got the seafood benedict with crab. Though both of us agreed that the flavors were great, there was a few things that maybe weren't executed as well. The huevos were just warm, not hot. The potatoes were different sizes, which is totally fine, but they made some of them cooked well and others more like raw potato. I would also say the portions were kinda small compared to other breakfast places in town (see third pic). I'll try to make this short. We came to this restaurant with friends and family which we totally regretted. We got there and waited around 30 minutes until they came and offered us something to drink. When we got our drinks finally we ordered and waited around a hr to get our food in the process of getting our food we were never asked if we wanted another drink after finished. People that got there after us were already leaving. I noticed a couple that was not happy with their food left angry. After a couple more minutes we told them if our food was ready and one of my friends got yelled at by a worker for asking about their food and why it was taking long and there response was it wasn't a McDonald's (I been to better restaurants and doesn't even take that long). After waiting more time one of my friends just walked off and I asked a employee about our food again which was already lined up for us and that's when I told my friend to come back already angry at them. We didn't even eat comfortable anymore. So at paying one of my friends told them to not scream at them again for just asking about their food. We were leaving peacefully and one of the workers came out and took a picture of us so I went up to him and asked why the picture. So then it was a argument and the lady shoved my pregnant wife and then denied it They wouldn't call the cops because they know their at fault. Tried La Parada breakfast and was happy I did! The huevos ranchos was different than the one I am used to this one came with 2 chorizo enchiladas but I really loved the ranchera salsa. My friend had the ribeye steak and eggs and the steak was a bit over cooked and tough but it was still flavorful. The place was packed on a Saturday morning but everyone was super attentive and friendly. This is a cute restaurant I would definitely try it again maybe for dinner! I can't believe I didn't know about this place sooner. A co worker brought some breakfast burritos into work and they were a hit. We all asked where they were from and for some weird reason none of us have ever heard about it. I made it a mission to go check them out. They're off of Kietzke in a corner spot. Which means I've driven by this place multiple times but didn't pay attention. Don't be like me and go check this place out. I placed a phone order since I was heading to work and didn't have time to eat there. I ordered a Machaca breakfast burrito that also came with rice, beans and potatoes. I only gave this place a 4 because I wasn't there to fully enjoy the dining experience. The entire menu looks delicious and I will go back to try other dishes. I am from the Bay Area and visit Reno a couple of times a year. We found this place on our last trip and have been dreaming about their chilaquiles ever since. They have the most amazing chilaquiles ever! First off, the restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside. Don't worry about that. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The restaurant is clean and larger than it appears from the outside. The service can be a little slow but that's because they are busy and the food is well worth the wait. I cannot recommend the chilaquiles enough. The green sauce is spicy and full of flavor. It comes with beans, potatoes, and bread. It's a huge plate of food. My kids get pancakes, waffles, or french toast and they love it. I guarantee we will be returning every time we go to Reno. read more

Read some reviews and decided hum...let's give it a try. Walking in I was really impressed with the vibe. Especially at 10am. We were greeted immediately, sat and had our beverages quickly. Horchata: This was super refreshing. Perfect amount of cinnamon. Chips & Salsa: The chips were thicker than your average tortillas chip, but I loved it. They could have been fresher, but still homemade. The salsa had minimal spice and consistency to it. Not terrible, just not my favorite. Chimichanga: this guy came out looking all beautiful and majestic. Turned out to be filled with rice & very minimal amounts of chicken. Mamma's Breakfast: The potatoes were tastey and had decent flavor. The enchilada was super dry . Ceveiche Tostada: the vegetables were so fresh and delicious on this guy. Yummy. Everyone was super friendly, we received our food quickly and the ambiance was spot on. Maybe we were there on an off day for the food quality. We will try again here. read more

I am giving five stars because they have mole on the menu and it is available. I ordered this three Maria's enchiladas which is three chicken enchiladas with moly, green sauce, and red sauce. Next time I will order the enmoladas so all three have the delicious mole. The enchiladas were perfect: each ingredient shines because they are not drowned in sauce. My parents discovered this place by accident and it has become our favorite place to eat in Reno. The restaurant is always clean and is decorated in a traditional Mexican theme. The music is pleasant and never too loud. We have had the pleasure of Andrea being our waitress and she is the absolute best and so is the rest of the staff. The food is absolutely amazing. I came here for a brunch lunch. It was a nice little diner. Plenty of parking in the back. It's nice that they serve breakfast until 2:00. When I went it was not crowded at all. The waiters and servers were very nice. I had the American breakfast everything was pretty good. Kind of wish the country gravy was a little bit more flavorful it wasn't bad. In LA you can throw a rock and hit an excellent mom n pop place. Stopping in at La Parada was a fluke - we were in the area and needed to eat fast. Being in a hurry I asked for recommendations. To my great surprise I absolutely fell in love with the chilaquiles! So much in fact, I order them everywhere I go. Sadly, none are as good as here. The refried beans were cooked to perfection. Just like "mama" use to make. Chips were fresh & even the bread tasted freshly baked. Our first visit, our servers mom came out to ask if I enjoyed her food. Really sweet bunch of folks. You would never know from the outside what this place is like. It is warm and welcoming and appears very clean. There are 11 or so tables with about 7 seats at the bar. The tables range in size from 4 to 10 seats. We came for a late breakfast and they have quite a few great options. We each ordered different breakfast burritos. The burritos arrived in a timely fashion and were very tasty. The beans and potatoes were not that warm but still good. They are open 7 days a week, have daily specials, a full bar and happy hour.
