Really enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros and the Steak omelette. The refried beans were quite good. Very friendly staff and fun atmosphere. Menu is full of traditional and authentic Mexican breakfast and brunch items. Nice place to have Sunday brunch!

We went to lunch at La Parada Cafe and as usual, the restaurant is busy but we took a chance since there's only 4 of us. When we walked in to the restaurant, they were already pretty packed; there were only 2 4-top tables that were still empty; we were warmly greeted and seated at one of the tables. Soon after,!another lady took our drink orders and after she dropped them off, they took our food orders: we ordered a carnitas torta, an al pastor torta and two carnitas burritos, one without refried beans and one with. All our entrees tasted delicious and were very satisfying but the best part of the meal was the service. We've been patronizing to this family-owned restaurant since their inception and the family shows it whenever they all warmly welcome us when we walk through the doors. My only critique is now that the restaurant is established and has a well-established reputation for consistently having good food, they're always busy-- which is great for the business owners but the restaurant is a little snug now that they're so popular, but I'm genuinely happy that business is good.

Love the decor !

The place was packed, so I took a seat at the bar. Omg ! What a fun and lively place for brunch!! The Bloody Mary!! Spicy deliciousness! my waitress is having a baby! Any day now!! She's working like a champ! If you come in before the 28th, which is her due date, tip, her big I did! First time here and I'm amazed at their menu! Something for everyone! From classic breakfasts to enticing Mexican food cuisine! Of course I had to try their classic eggs Benedict, so far I have tried pretty much every place that serves them here in Reno. Their ham on them is to die for !! The hollandaise...! Look out everyone else!! And the garnish! So Pretty !! Next time I come, and I WILL come back, I'm going to get a little adventurous and try some breakfast tacos !! Yep! They have those too !!

Breakfast dates are probably my favorite when I am allowed to slow down on my weekend. I was treated to breakfast yesterday here. I have had this locally owned joint on my list for some time and took advantage since we were nearby. They were busy, so we took a second to look at their menu before being seated and we loved their decor and ambiance. It reminded me of my times in Mexico when we'd stumble across a hole in the wall establishment where we knew the food would be authentic. It felt homey and Andrea was welcoming from our first greeting. She was also the hostess. The Staff here as a whole was great. The only downside was their prices were higher for breakfast and their plates were lacking. Food to price ratio didn't match for us. I ordered the Azteca breakfast and my love had their carnitas tacos then ordered a carne asada burrito because he was still hungry. We placed two orders of waffles to-go; one waffle breakfast $17.25 and a Belgium waffle for $16.25. The waffle breakfast is definitely a better deal with an egg and two slices of bacon for a dollar more. My food was delicious, but their plates were more like an appetizer. Their seafood looked delicious, but I can't justify spending almost $30 for soup. I'll make my own 7mares at home. Thank you Andrea for the hospitality, you were great.

Never would've known this place existed unless someone told me about it. There's street parking and also they have a small parking lot in the rear of the restaurant. Just follow the signs. The inside is decorated with plants and paintings all over. It felt like I walked into someone's home instead of a restaurant. It was so cozy and the service was friendly. Came in for brunch/lunch and was surprised the place was packed. Got seated at the bar and everything on the menu looked delicious. Started off with their cafe de olla. The coffee was so aromatic. I was told it was infused with cinnamon and other spices. For entrees, I got the grilled Mexican steak with a choice of corn or flour tortillas and the deluxe pancakes with sausages. The food was delicious and the portions were huge.

I didn't even get to try the food because we were given inaccurate wait times. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait, and while we were waiting I decided to look at the menu more and photos. I saw reviews about La Parada having the best chilaquiles and wanted to try them, but they looked like what you get from La Carreta which are just lacking flavorful sauce, and a small portion. It also looked like it wasn't the most authentic food. So it didn't seem worth the wait and we left.

Found this place on Yelp, and this is why I love yelp! This place was great and absolutely cute inside, plus, the service was nice. We did wait a little long.... However, it was worth my tasty meal. We ordered country fried chicken, huevos ranchero, and menudo. Period, the menudo was great. Actually, everything was flavorful and worth the dollar. Will definitely come again. See pictures, then see, then buy.

Belgium Waffle Platter

Overall we would rate it a 3/10 We got there around 12:15pm, ordered around 12:20, didnt get our food until 1:00pm. The party of two before us ordered a few minutes before we did. They got their food and drinks, finished their meal, and paid all before we even got our meal. So we had a 35-40 minute wait for the food. I got the Belgium Waffle Platter: the Waffle came burnt as you can see in the photo, my bacon was also burnt on one of my pieces, and my eggs came already soaking my waffle. Taste wise the eggs were good and the bacon was okay. The waffle was really burnt and not good at all to me. My husband didnt mind it so he ate half. My husband got the Machaca: he said it was dry and the flavor was mid. The tortillas were a little thick as well. He liked how you can tell the veggies were fresh which is a plus for him. Our coffee was also burnt. The atmosphere was good, its a cute little spot. Wait time was a little crazy considering they were not very busy when we came in and ordered. I dont think I would be going back or recommending.

Queda birria plate (Tacos) Pancake Plater

I'm going to kick things off with 100/10 food the Birria plate was great the pancakes were delicious I love the Freshly squeezed orange juice the horchata was a bit water down but still that cinnamony flavor we all love The service was great our waiter should get a raise she was very nice the food came out quick like under 10 minutes The Ambience was like I was in Mexico City music blasting when I walked in it looked like Mexico but with a hint of modern style the bulls on the walls gave me a quick laugh Overall 10/10 spot if you are in the area stop here it won't disappoint

Chilaquiles with verde sauce and La Parada Huevos Rancheros...FANTASTIC

I can't tell everyone how FANTASTIC this restaurant is and do it justice. I had the Mexican Coffee and the La Parada Huevos Rancheros. This is not the traditional way people usually make it. They actually make it with two chorizo and cheese enchiladas with eggs on top along with pickled onions, arugula, and avocado. The chorizo is made in house and the dish is served with the most amazing beans (tastes like your mom used to make) and fried potatoes. When I was finished, I had to throw my hands up in the air....soooo freaking good!! My husband had the Chilaquiles with the verde sauce with scrambled eggs (I suggested he get them with over easy eggs). He said it was a little spicier than he expected but it was amazing. He did admit he should have had it with over easy eggs...told you so!! The waiter was very friendly and our food came out really fast. What we liked the most about this place was that everything is made in house (tortillas, beans, chorizo). Go check it out, you won't be sorry!!

La Parada Huevos Rancheros

A wonderful find, La Parada is a great choice for quality Mexican foods. We went there for breakfast, with most opting for tradtional Mexican dishes, while my wift opted for the Belgian Waffle. Our friend chose the "La Parada Huevos Rancheros". An interesting selection of two homemade pork sausage chorizo cheese enchiladas, topped with eggs, cilantro, tomatoes, jack & cheddar cheese, avocado, sour cream, and Mama's Salsa Ranchera. I've never seen Huevos Rancheros prepared quite like this but my friend said it was delicioso! Another friend ordered the Beef Machaca. A more tradional dish with scrambled eggs mixed with seasoned shredded beef, sauteed onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and jalapeno peppers. I ordered "Chorizo and Eggs". The Chorizo was flavorful and not oily at all. When mixed with the eggs, it offered a wonderful blend of tastes and textures. It was quite good. As mentioned, my wife ordered the Belgian Waffle. A very traditional preparation, the waffle was good but not amazing. The sausauge was quite good though. Overall, a solid option for breakfast. I am eager to return for lunch. La Parada is a Breakfast/Lunch place, closing at 2pm dailly.

Service was disappointing. I arrived shortly after my group and waited about 20 minutes without being acknowledged. When I finally asked the lady with red hair to order, she refused and prioritized another table that arrived after us. Not acceptable. especially when a quick acknowledgment could have fixed the situation. Also food was mediocre. Waffles were extremely soggy. I got one spoonful of burnt hasbrowns One spoonful of yogurt for my parfait And the eggs were extremely runny

I've passed this restaurant so many times. Finally a friend suggested we meet her for breakfast. What a cute decor and vibes. We had Mexican coffee black. Nice aroma of cinnamon and spices. The service was great. Delicious food.

Our server checked on us the right amount and our food came out quickly. We ordered the Giant Hamburger and the BLT. The burger was thick, juicy, and piled high with classic toppings, messy in the best way and full of flavor. The BLT was generously stacked with crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, and tomato on toasted bread, simple and satisfying. The only downsides were the fries and my drink. The fries were overcooked, dry, and a bit too tough. I ordered a vodka soda, and it tasted more like soda with a splash of vodka. Overall, it was a good experience and we would return.

It was our 1st time eating there however it had been on our list for some time. We started with the PULL-APART GARLIC CHEESE BREAD which is Focaccia, mozzarella, marinara, parmesan, frico crust and also ordered the WOOD FIRED OCTOPUS with crispy gnocchi, tomatoes, red onion, basil, arugula and topped with a Calabrian chili aioli. Both were fantastic, seasoned nicely and cooked to a perfect temperature!! For our entree we hate the BEE STING pizza. Make with a 72 Hour Fermented Organic Dough topped with Salami, red onion, basil, serranos, mozzarella and honey. The crust was delicious, crunchy, thin and when combined with the sauce, seasoning and toppings, an excellent pizza. Additionally we ordered two of the in-house, housemaid pasta. The ARRABBIATA , a roasted red pepper campanelle, with Calabrese sausage, garlic, chilis, broccolini and topped with Parmesan, pecorino. The other pasta we tried was the BLACK SPAGHETTI, mixed with clams, scallops, shrimp, hot chopped peppers, white wine, butter and lemon. It was fantastic!! Cooked al dente and packed with flavor.
