Another restaurant I've come to many times over the years, and surprisingly have not reviewed! I've been visiting this Great Basin location for well over 20 years and am happy it's still here. It's my go to spot whenever I'm in Victorian square and one of my favorites in the summer when you can sit on the patio, especially if there is some live music playing. On this particular visit, my wife and I came in for a late lunch. It wasn't very crowded and we were seated quickly and our server was attentive throughout the meal. Everything was great, I ordered the French Dip with fries, and my wife ordered the burger with fries. I will say, adding the extras on the french dip is not recommended for me as it was harder to dip an I think it actually took away from the goodness of the french dip experience. Not a negative, just a tip! Great Basin is always here when I need it, and it's a staple of the Reno Sparks area with their beer and food. Look forward to the next visit soon!

Popped in for dinner. I reviewed their menu before going. Great selections. We were able to be seated quickly even though it was busy. The wait staff was friendly and energetic. I opted for the Mac n cheese topped with pork belly. Fabulous choice, paired with the bread. So cheesy and delicious My husband chose the Basin burger and fries. The burger was so juicy and cooked to perfection. The noise level was ridiculous. Couldn't even have a conversation without having to repeat myself. We were seated next to a party that thought the entire restaurant needed to hear their conversation. Note to self. I'm coming back on a different day and time. Popular place for a Friday night dinner crowd. I cannot wait to try some other items on their menu. The prices were so affordable especially for the serving sizes. It is a definite must try if you haven't already been.b

My husband and I were craving a burger and a beer and decided to check out Great Basin. Staff were really nice and laid back. We got there 35 minutes before happy hour ended and definitely took advantage of the discounts. The only reason why I'm not giving this review 5 stars is because the bread on my burger was dry and didn't make it as good. Other than that everything else was wonderful!

This Great Basin used to be a regular hangout amongst my girlfriends and I in our early 20's. Since then everyone has gotten married and had children. Those meet ups are usually only around the holidays when schedules permit, but we still love an occasional lunch here. My most recent visit was last week for lunch. Colton was our server and was awesome. He was just the right amount of attentive without hovering. I love their nachos here and knew with my entree I had to order the smaller portion to make room for my pumpkin beer and patty melt. They were just as I remembered them. I'm glad we ordered them without meat. All were tasty, but I felt the cowboy burger was a little too saucey and my patty melt was over cooked, but not inedible. The great service provided made up for my burger being over cooked. Thank you Colton, hope to see you next time.

It was only recently I espied, off hwy 80, a magnificient tribute to the mining history of Nevada, 36' tall Last Chance Joe. It was Joe that brought me and my luncheon ladies to Victorian Ave for a visit. A few feet away we happened upon Great Basin Brewery and dined. In a nutshell, service, food and ambiance were fantastic. I ordered the chipotle chicken pasta and the chef didn't hold back on the chipolte's in the sauce. The portion was so large I was able to enjoy leftovers for 2 more meals. Please note, if you'd like to try a couple of their beers before ordering one, ask for a "taste" not a "sample", as tastes are free. Our server, Jacob, was friendly, attentive, and a genuinely happy fellow. Everyone agreed their meals were delicious.

Good option to eat at any night of the week! Our server was really efficient and had a good sense of humor. All drinks and meals were 100% accurate and came out nice and hot. I had the 50/50 burger. It was so good! Had a perfect charcoal flavor and cooked to perfection. The side of garlic fries were okay. They just tasted like regular fries to me though and the bottom of the dish was pretty oily. I'm sure others love them though. The restaurant is self was tidy. They were actually fairly busy on a Sunday evening. Everyone was taken care of it seemed but there was a bit of a wait to be seated due to not having a hostess. This is a perfect option for any night of the week or grabbing a bite to eat before catching a movie down the street at Victorian Galaxy. Recommend!

Came here for happy hour on a Friday afternoon! The service, dining area, food and drinks were all wonderful! We both ordered the patty melt. Wow!!!! So much flavor! My wife had the hazy ipa, I went with the Oktoberfest lager. Neither disappointed!

My husband and I met friends at Great Basin to watch the band New Wave Craze. Hadn't been here in a long time but so glad we went. It was a hot day. The band played on the stage outside. There are table and chairs set up so we can eat and enjoy the band. My husband ordered a guava cider soooo refreshing and not too sweet. He ordered a French dip and fries for his meal. I never get excited about a French dip but this was the best French dip we both had. I ordered a chili beer. Just a little kick not too spicy and refreshing. For food I ordered an ahi sandwich with fries. The ahi was cooked perfectly. The sandwich comes with slaw and wonton chips and brioche bun. Delish!!! We truly enjoyed both the meal/drinks and band. We will come back here more often.

Did you know? You can sample any draught beer.

We make a point of getting here at least once every trip up to the Reno/Sparks area! They have a great selection of Craft Brews on Tap all Nevada baby! Elizabeth is a great server! She kept us happy and plenty of refills as needed! Food is always real good. Prices are fair and portions are bigger than average. Plenty of seating at the bar, tables or on the open air patio.

Food was amazing first time coming here and well worth the price. Ambiance is really nice and place is super clean and friendly. My server Clayton was Awesome definitely will be coming back next time I go to Nevada! Food was amazing and the PORK BELLY is to die for

If you're looking for a place that has great fish and chips. This is the place to go. They have great fish and chips. Also, they have really good salads and the burgers aren't bad. I recommend it.

Great Basin has an awesome happy hour with some really solid deals. The smoked wings and pork belly were delicious, and the service was great. Plenty of seating, but parking can be a little tricky.

Love their beers, although I favor their selections of West Coast IPA's over the NE types and Lagers, all the beer they make ia pretty great. In house, they will allow a quick sample before purchasing any of their brews to go, or for consumption on site. Their is an area for larger or small parties to sit, enjoy the beer and socialize, although on this trip, I just grabbed some beer to go, to bring back home.

I don't think a place of business should be sending out texts encouraging people to purchase a specific product that is not currently offered and that's exactly what Revision did. What a waste of peoples' time. Unsubscribed in disappointment and frustration. Social media director, take note! Another complaint is that they have now become "family friendly". I do not want to go to a brewery for adult beverages and end up having to listen to children screaming and running about. They are also no longer allowing outside food to be brought in because they have on site food, serving pizza and hot dogs. We tried a pizza on our last visit, $21 for a large 3 meat which is big enough for 2 adults. Pizza was meh, 3 stars, definitely could have used more toppings. We were thankful it did come out fresh. On a positive note, if you like what seems to be an abundance of IPA style beers they have you covered! They did have some enjoyable, yet expensive stouts on tap along with a couple other non IPA styles.

I unfortunately found this out the hard way, going with a group of friends on a Sunday night. Furthermore, the kitchen does last call at 8:30pm. We had a friend arrive shortly after 8:30pm, and the waitress refused to take his order- mind you, it was for a simple smash burger. The waitress said "the kitchen will get mad at you if you place an order", a very unprofessional and rude response. Overall, The food was subpar too, dry hamburgers and overpriced. I used this come to this restaurant when they were open for lunch, and they were great. Friendly service with good food. However they are only open for dinner now. I only recommend this place for their beer.

I made the reservation on Opentable which asked if we wanted the brunch menu or the regular menu, except that It was a buffet and the regular menu was not available. This restaurant is too cramped for a bunch of food stations. Customers and staff walking back and forth to the deck and in some cases into each other, no room to wait in lines or to walk around looking at the food stations while looking for the little signs to tell you what was where. Then the most disappointing part: the plates were really hot but the food was not. Lukewarm eggs benedict (ick) and potatoes and breakfast meats. Some of the non-breakfast dishes were flavorful like the chicken (very flabby skin but easy to take off) and the pork, but again, not hot and the rice that came with the chicken was crunchy as though it had been sitting on a counter top and not under the chicken in a chafing dish. Our check showed two buffets, one coffee and one iced tea and each of us paid 87.59, plus tip. Never again.

Cut and pasted from their website: "Slieve means "A…read moreMountain" in Irish Gaelic, their family roots." Quality/Quantity - Been an extremely long stressful day! So I NEEDED a break from the day to just relax and stop thinking! I gave my wife a few options, a few breweries to choose from (or for me to just go alone, which she would not have let me drink and drive, especially all the way from North Reno). So she/we chose to go to Slieve as I have not been there yet. Actually, all 3 choices were breweries. The good news is that there are more and more new breweries opening. The bad news is that there are more and more good breweries closing, in ALL my hometowns... My first time in a nano brewery; cool. Today I got (and tried the following), all Slieve brands; support local: Oh, I did not know you had a happy hour M-F from 2-5pm; I just missed it by 13 minutes... Should not have spent so much time outside taking pictures for Yelp, lol. Pale Ale - Good, but I prefer more flavor. This is currently my second "go to" beer after reds. Jimbo Porter - Better, but then I tried the Cookie Monster! I also did not taste the coconut. Cookie Monster - My favorite of the beers, so much flavor. And I am NOT usually a sweet beer drinker. It was not an overwhelming stout, probably due to the sweetness, but you can definitely taste the chocolate and slightly coffee and caramel flavors. I would get this again, but it would always have to be my last beer due to the flavors. Beers that I need to come back for when available are: Your reds, IPAs and of course your "Trinity Tripel." Ambiance - On your "about" page on your website, it says you are still looking for a home for your brewery...? Is that accurate or does that page need to be updated? Cool space, indoor and outdoor seating. Bar and table seating. 2 bars, one the back, probably only used for events. Semi private room when you walk in. Ping pong, darts, games, cornhole, cool decor on walls throughout to read, etc. Open 7 days a week, see their website. Yelp's hours/days differ slightly. Event spaces are available; see their website.. Service - Good. We were also greeted by Shannon when she and Phillip came in later for a drink or two... Phillip was too busy drinking to say hi, lol. Price - $8 a beer. The typical cost for good craft beer. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2022 with your nanobrewery; I wish you the best and am glad you own the building to help you weather some "storms."

We got there a little early to pick our spot at the bar. We were greeted by Shannon the owner. She is a lovely lady and later met her husband Phil. They have owned Slieve's for about three years. They have a spacious building and super clean! The staff are friendly and accommodating. There is no food on the premises to purchase, but you can bring your own food or ordered inn. It was fun to sample Girl Scout cookies and taste beer. We started with 6 tastings but they threw in a couple extra. The event was well organized and the Girl Scouts were there to sell their cookies. I was a Girl Scout 50 years ago. I think a box of cookies was $1.00 - $1.25. I paid $7. Times have certainty changed. The brewery is in an interesting location that I never knew existed before, but now I do and look forward to my return. Thank you for making our day fun and memorable!!!
