Finally writing a review after visiting multiple times. We really enjoy the beers, apps and entrees. We haven't had a bad meal food-wise yet! I would definitely recommend a reservation if coming on a weekend night as the place gets packed. Pizookies are always a must have to end the night! Service can be hit or miss. We've had a lot of good servers, so not as much that maybe need a but more experience or training as some are very willing to make accommodations where others don't or see confused how to make accommodations or slight modifications. But overall I'd say we've had more positive then begative service experiences. read more

I hate to update a one star review for a business that my kids love so much. I'm not sure what happened yesterday, but I had to give myself a moment before posting because I left that establishment so angry. The service and food were both so disgusting. My family and I dined in last night 7/12 after catching a movie. We were seated in girl Alex's section. I'm not sure whether she received any training in waiting on tables, but she was atrocious. She referred to us all as hun. Umm yes she was unprofessional, but her lack of basic service skills. I'm assuming I'm 20 years your senior. I'm not your "hun," no one in my family is your "hun". I could have wrote that one off, but we waited to get greeted. We waited too long for drinks then waited longer for my kids appetizer. She constantly reached across my husband's face with her elbow in his face to serve me last. Photos below are photos of what was supposed to be a baked potato. It was mashed potatoes in a shell of this disgusting potato skin. She told me, "She had to go check if they had an end cut in stock". I ordered their prime rib weekend special so I could share with my son. She had no clue what an end cut was. It would be nice for your employees to have basic knowledge of your menu and your specials. A tip for you Alex, If you expect a tip, do your basic job. You did not check back with us to see if we needed anything. It's your job to do quality control from the kitchen to us, your customers. Came here with my sister for their beer dinner. It comes as a 5 course meal and drinks per course. I opted out the drinking and went for the dinner. It is a pretty good deal and it was my 2nd beer dinner from this restaurant. It took approximately three hours for dinner so it as pretty long but the food was amazing. Having five courses it first came with calamari, salad, pizza, salmon, and then for dessert their yummy pizookie. The food was great, service was amazing, value is worth. The Birthday club decided to celebrate Patty's Birthday at BJs Brew House. The bad thing about the bar area, they're unable to seat 7 of us for happy hour so the manager was so kind to set up a table for us in the dining room and allowed us to have happy hour there and continue on with our dinner. This was super nice because it would have been a 45 minute wait to get a table. The kitchen was behind due to 5 big parties and only 5 servers. The manager kept apologizing for the delay and we were fine with it, us girls had a lot of catching up to do. We all had the special $13 menu deals. Everyone chose a different menu item so it was fun to see all the variety dishes all at once. With the $13 special it includes pkooskie which is the best part. I had the wedge salad which I had not tried before and it was quite tasty and the hot honey pizza with pepperoni and ham, cooked perfectly and crispy, just the way I like it. We had lunch there today to get our fave calamaris. But the funny thing (and frustrating) , was they failed to deliver it as our appetizer because they had problems in the kitchen. Someone must have not put the tab or maybe it was forgotten. Appetizers are suppose to be served before your entree. Anyway, things happen and we've been there several times and it does not stop us from going there. I ordered Shrimp Scampi. It was pretty good, though i'm not a fan of angel hair. We arrived at very busy time, just past happy hour which ends st 7:00 PM. We found a booth in the bar area right away. We were greeted promptly and had an opportunity to order drinks while checking out the specials. Decided to grab some lunch here with the family. We were seated immediately and drinks came right after. We had a newer server and she was so sweet! I ordered the chicken pita tacos and they actually came out wrong. She stated she accidentally grabbed the wrong ones as she is still learning the dishes. Thought I would share a recent visit to the BJ's in Sparks, NV. My dinner guest arrive around 20:45 on Monday 7.20.26. We were seated after a puzzling 5 minute wait. The greeter told us they need to clean several tables. As we patiently waited, the same greeter told another couple there was open seating up in the bar area or there would be a short wait. I bring this up only because we were not offered this option. We were seated, and waited approximately 6-8 minutes ordered a glass of water and a diet soda. By the rolling of the female server's eyes she wasn't pleased. We ordered to types of burgers with fries & sweet potato fries both MR. After 20 or so minutes our dinner arrived. My guest's burger was well done and her bacon was far from crispy as requested. My burger also was well done fries cool and appeared not freshly made. The cheese on my burger looked as though it was thrown on not placed on the burger this presentation was not appetizing. Neither of us like to complain so we ate what we could. We asked for a box and the check, those too took some time to arrive. i will give our server an at-a-girl for providing numerous refills on my beverage. The check was $44.=/- 2 burgers 1 soda and a water! I am aware of the cost of food however these prices for the value received doesn't equate. If you add the spotty service and wait times, BJ's failed miserably. Throughout our experience, as usual NO Management presence on the floor. No manager table touching which might have avoided this review. As we were leaving, the greeter, a server, and an older gentleman, laughing and talking at the greeter stand. We arrived at BJ's around 12:15am knowing they closed at 1am and I felt a little bad coming in so late. Despite that the service was absolutely amazing and we never felt rushed or unwelcome. I'm writing this while finishing my meal at BJ's because the experience has been frustrating from start to finish. We sat for about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. When we asked about getting the happy hour beer price, we were told a manager had to approve taking a whole $2 off a beer. Then we found out they were out of Jeremiah Red. Our replacement beers finally arrived... warm. We ordered our food, only to have our server come back about 10 minutes later and tell us that two of our three orders weren't even available because they were out of the mini pizzas. It would've been nice if someone knew what was actually in stock before we ordered. The food took long enough that I was starting to think they were making the batter from scratch. To be fair, when it finally arrived, it was hot and actually tasted really good. That's what makes this review disappointing. The kitchen delivered, but everything leading up to the food missed the mark. Between the slow service, warm beer, multiple menu items being unavailable, and poor communication, it just wasn't a good dining experience. 7/5/2026: I am very disappointed with my order. I ordered To go online through the BJ's website at 10:45pm. I ordered fish and chips, the chicken Parmesan, s'mores pizookie, and a cocktail. The total was 86 dollars, which is already a lot but I was excited. They said the order would be ready at 11:10, which is when I arrived. We were a group of 14 having a celebration dinner, and I feel BJ's did a decent job hosting us. Let's say 3.8 stars. Minus a couple of snags, the food and service was on point. Although, I did try many of the items at the table and most were great! The one surprise at the table were the Brussels sprouts. While the picture doesn't do it justice, they were flavorful and crispy! Highly recommend! And there were some pizooki virgins in the group, but their cookie dishes went back to the kitchen licked clean! And the wings are always an easy pleaser. Overall, this was a fairly positive experience, but there are a few items that could absolutely be improved. I felt forgotten about making the reservation. During the initial call, they said their supervisor would call back shortly to confirm since they were a bit busy. I waited 4 hours and had to call to make another request. Luckily Kevin got me squared away. As with many big groups, one dish was forgotten about and didn't make it out until about 15 minutes after everyone else's. The flat bread had a soggy bottom. You can probably skip the jambalaya, because it doesn't really taste like the jambalaya you're wanting. And while we gave the benefit of the doubt and thought the chicken sandwich was just well seasoned and maybe the frying oil was old, we were wrong. Food is pretty good here! And the menu is huge which is a pro for pleasing everyone in your group but also hard for someone like me who is indecisive. I've been to this location many times through the years and the last few times I've noticed major issues with wait times. I think they may be often understaffed.... Our food last time took about an hour to get for a party of 5. Our waiter was wonderful and even provided a free dessert for the long wait, but the wait time will definitely make me reconsider visiting this location again. read more

So, 2 is a real low rating for me, I'm usually pretty forgiving. Let's start with the positives. The first part that absolutely put me off was the waitress asked how I would like it cooked, but then specified they only cook down to medium, and the other options are medium well or well. My initial reaction was "seriously," and she confirmed yes seriously, so I guess I'm goin with medium. That is actually absolutely not ok to me that you cannot choose how you want your steak cooked, I have never heard this policy at a single other restaurant on earth. Burger policy maybe, but a steak? Ridiculous. So anyway, onto the next part, the food took an ENTIRE 60 minutes to make it to the table. That was an incredibly long wait time for some lunch options. The first thing I noticed on my food was the broccoli was old and even becoming moldy. Apart from the broccoli being black on the florets from the mold, it was shriveled up and flaccid. On top of all that, it wasn't even steamed all the way... old, flaccid, moldy, half cooked broccoli. Yikes. Now the steak, totally hard to cut, hard to chew, and fully well done.... I also got the Chicken Tortilla Soup, and it was a bowl of pure salt, it was intense... At this point? You may be asking yourself if I sent it back, I didn't. This was a business meal, and we had a strict timeline that we already went well over. If I was personally paying for this meal I would have asked for a refund, sent all the food back, and left. I am absolutely disappointed personally, and we will not be bringing any employees back to BJ's after this experience again. Unless something drastically changes here, I suggest you stay with the local options and skip the chain. Since the other food was at least palatable, and the waitress was friendly and attentive, I'll throw them a bone with the 2 stars, but my plate specifically was easily 0 out of 5 stars. read more

Visiting Reno for the weekend with our family, which includes both children and elderly members, we were really looking forward to a nice, relaxing supper together. Unfortunately, our experience at BJ's turned out to be one of the worst customer service interactions we have ever had. We made a reservation for a party of 10, but upon arrival, the hostess told us there was a 20-minute wait. We then asked the hostess if it would be faster to do 2 separate parties of 5 each and she stated it was same amnt of time so we decided to stick with a party of 10 and she mentioned that it was going to be less than 5 min wait. We watched multiple parties who arrived well after us get seated ahead of us. When I asked how much longer the wait would be, the hostess kept contradicting herself, giving a different time estimate every single time without ever providing a straight answer. She excused the delay by claiming they were busy, yet we could clearly see multiple tables sitting empty on one side of the restaurant. Because of the complete lack of organization, contradictory communication, and frustrating service, we ultimately decided to pack up and leave. I also contacted a BJ's restaurant page to see if I can talk to someone but unfortunately no one has contact me since Monday! It was close to lunch time and to minimize our wait, we opted to sit at the high top tables in the bar area.
