I wasn't sure about this chain that seems to be taking Austin by storm, now with a second location on Burnet. It had all the trappings of a cafe I'd expect to find in a particularly polished corner of SoCal, made of more style than substance. Those adorable little adult sippy cups, complete with heart-shaped stoppers, sure shut me up. Their pumpkin spice is made with actual pumpkin and a blend of spices that tastes surprisingly close to homemade pie, not just vaguely "fall flavored." It tastes like a treat without being sugary-sweet, diffused though a wide range of non-dairy options. You can also get that same pumpkin spice in a matcha or chai, which I fully plan on trying before we turn the page to another month. Logistically challenging but not impossible, there's less than a dozen parking spaces, which you certainly will not get during peak hours. Do a loop around the neighborhood, you'll figure it out eventually. True to form, service is irrefutably kind! I came in with all sorts of annoying questions about what was or could be made vegan, each answered with patience and grace. It's also an interesting social experiment. I wasn't prepared for the chorus of "I love you!" from all the workers behind the counter as I began to leave, causing me to avert my eyes and cower as if being pelted by small rocks. I like La La Land in general. So I had to try the newest location. It's a tiny spot with a very tiny parking lot. So be warned the parking lot is very small. The line system inside is a little confusing. I think the size contributes to why. The line to order and pick up bleed into each other. So you have to pay attention to where people are facing to know where to go. I tried the cookie matcha. Because I have a sweet tooth. But there wasn't much sweet about it. I can't say I recommend. Now my friend ordered the hibiscus tea. And that??? Wow. That was amazing. I never thought to order the tea there but I think I will the next time I go. It was so good! read more

First time at La La Land and I really enjoyed it! The place is cute I really like how they put everything together with all the concept and the little details, like the yellow cups and the vintage truck outside make it feel like such a fun spot. I tried the matcha latte and it was really good! You can tell the matcha is premade rather than freshly whisked to order, but it still tasted fresh and delicious. I asked for mine not too sweet and it was perfect for me. Definitely something I would order again! Everyone working there was also super friendly, I even got an "I love youuu" on my way out, which was adorable. The only thing to keep in mind is that parking can be a little tricky, but overall I had such a nice first experience. I'll definitely be back to try more drinks and food! read more

The crew here is straight-up lovely and I super appreciated major serving water in a legit travel cup instead of throwing more single-use plastic that quickly ends up garbage. That said, catching an L on the feta wrap at 6:31 AM was a low key buzzkill. Like, how are we already wiped out before the sun's even fully up? Also, I get that Texas heat requires serious AC firepower, but the indoor seating area was straight-up arctic. Definitely not the move if you want to hang out and eat without shivering. La Land has officially opened on Burnet Road, and I had been watching with anticipation for weeks as the new coffee shop was being built. The bright yellow building is impossible to miss, standing squarely on the corner of 45th Street and Burnet Road. There's something about the color yellow that instantly evokes happiness, and La La Land embraces that feeling from the moment you arrive. As soon as I walked through the doors, I was greeted by an atmosphere filled with brightness, joy, and positivity. The cheerful décor creates a space that feels both welcoming and uplifting. Michelle, who was handing out orders, added to the experience by sharing positive affirmations with guests...a thoughtful touch I had never encountered in a coffee shop before. It was refreshing and perfectly aligned with the café's upbeat personality. Deciding what to order on my first visit proved to be challenging. After browsing the menu, I settled on a PSG Latte, a limited-time offering, along with two enormous chocolate chip cookies...one for the hubs and one for my visiting brother-in-law (though I secretly hoped they might share). Choosing the PSG Latte (espresso topped with cloud, salt and a mini croissant) turned out to be the perfect decision. Describing it as delicious is such an understatement...ice-cold, flavorful, and incredibly smooth with the mini croissant as a bonus. In fact, I briefly considered ordering a second one before my sensible side kicked in. The service was exceptional from beginning to end. My barista patiently explained the menu, pointed out the most popular lattes, and made me feel like I was the only customer in the shop. La La Land has clearly mastered customer service as an art form. La La Land is not only a movie anymore. Smile. As a huge fan of the original South Congress location, I had to check out the new spot on Burnet Road, and it completely delivers. They've brought that same stunning, Parisian-inspired decor and top-tier service, but this time with a super convenient drive-through. While the indoor seating is on the smaller side, the ample outdoor patio is perfect for hanging out. The real star of my visit, though, was the limited-edition iced PSG espresso latte; it is absolutely amazing. For anyone wondering, PSG stands for Paris Saint-Germain, a nod to the legendary French football club, and the drink definitely lives up to the name. Went to La La Land on their soft opening days. The wait was excruciating but thats as expected with 50% off all drinks. Their matchas oreo are pretty tasty. I also had egg sausage sandwich that was a bit burned but tasted fine. Staffs are nice and they have this thing where they say "Love you" upon customers leaving - which I found odd but its part of their whole business branding it seems. Parking is hard since they are at an intersection with not a lot of parking. Not sure if I would go out of my way to go here again, maybe on the weekend. read more

Everyone was so nice! They have a happy upbeat yellow aesthetic. The cafe is clean and inviting. The menu is situated above the cashier area and I kinda wished they had printed menus. So that a customer could get a game plan on what they are going to order. Might help cut down on the time when ordering. I got Keith Lee matcha drink and my daughter got the strawberry matcha drink. I decided to also get a "sprinkle cake", it was tasty but very very sweet. Both drinks were good, not amazing but better than other competitors. I might have been expecting to be amazed since the location on Congress always has a line up to two blocks long. All in all it was a nice experience and we liked that we were able to say we visited it. If I was in the area and there was not a line I might visit again and try some other things on the menu. read more

Came on a Thursday afternoon, and I got the last parking --- thank goodness! La La Land is a beautiful cafe, that serves both coffee and tea drinks. It was made popular on social media thanks to thee Keith Lee --- who said that his favorite "matcha" drink comes from this spot; of course I had to try HIS order. I ordered a medium Keith Lee Latte (yes, that's the real name of the drink) for $7.80. The wait took about 10 minutes which I didn't mind, as this place is still in its "viral age". After I got the drink, I immediately went to the car, snapped the photo, and sipped. AMAZING. This drink was smooth, creamy (enough), sweet (enough), and with enough matcha powder without it getting bitter. I thoroughly enjoyed the Keith Lee Latte, and was pleasantly surprised. If you're ever in the area, try to visit --- and if you do, choose weekdays over weekends. It'll save you the headache and the long lines! read more

Obviously I'm going to get large for 50% off! I got the matcha squared latte. Nice and creamy, but I do wish it was colder. I also got the avocado toast, strawberry toast, and almond croissant. The toasts were pretty filling, though I felt the bread was a little tough. I enjoyed both and the pastry I had later. It wasn't a fresh unfortunately by the time I got to eat it. The place is small, which is kind of surprising knowing the hype of this shop. There was a line but they tried to move it through quickly. Parking is small though so expect parking in the neighborhood. I thought the ordering method was a little inefficient. They got my name through the app (needed to sign up for the promo) but then I had to wait to the side to listen for my name which was a bit difficult given the music, noise, and lack of mic from the staff. First time at this Austin hot spot on Sunday morning. Ordered a (hot) latte and an almond croissant. $14+ with a $1.00 tip which I added to my counter order. First, the good. The venue is bright, clean, and although simply decorated, had a welcoming feel good vibe - must be all the pastel-like yellow. The women that took my order was friendly and efficient. The east to read electronic menu had great variety in terms of food, coffee, and other beverages. Packing was simple (and yellow, of course) but nicely done. And, the latte was tasty (good, nothing wow, however). The croissant was fresh, nicely flaky, and had a flavorful almond paste in the middle. Then, the not so good. The large latte seemed smallish and the croissant was quite small (perhaps tiny for a croissant). Alas, the price was high for what was provided to me foodwise and drinkwise. Will I go back. Yes. Why? Pleasant atmosphere and there were things on the menu I would like to try. Would I count on this place to fill me up at a reasonable price? ... to be continued. And the terrible? Parking. Been looking for a matcha spot that's not overhyped and this place doesn't disappoint! My fav was Keith Lee Matcha (if you want strong matcha scent). This is their collab with Keith Lee made with double ceremonial matcha. There's a whole strawberry on top, so I thought it'd have some strawberry flavor going on, but it's actually just for looks! So good! The Eispenner was my second fave, super creamy! I wasn't a big fan of the Cloud 9 Matcha Latte. The strawberry foam kind of overpowered the matcha flavor. We placed our order ahead and just walked in for pickup, super quick. Staff was so sweet too, the girl helping us even asked if she pronounced my name right. Delicious coffee, aesthetic branding and friendly baristas make La La Land my new favorite coffee shop. The menu is full of options from coffee to matcha and they each sound as amazing as the last. I struggled to pick but the enthusiastic baristas suggested I go for the Tiramisu Latte and that was the correct choice for me today. The latte was very light on the ice so I could fully taste the delicious espresso and oat milk combination. The cold foam and lady finger topping was just the touch of sweetness and whimsy every drink needs. Fantastic craftsmanship, customer service and happy yellow cup sleeves that remind you to be kind. Visited La La Land for the first time during soft opening. There was a line out the door but that's to be expected since drinks were 50% off. For that price, it was worth waiting. I ordered their matcha squared latte which has double shots of matcha. Definitely recommend for Matcha lovers. Matcha tasted good and the drink creamy. I also tried their Truffle Burrata Toast and their Strawberry Toast. The Burrata Toast was a savory avocado toast with a small kick from the chilis. It was my first time trying with chili oil and thought the combo was good. I would've preferred more herbs like cilantro (instead of using it as a garnish) to help add some bright flavors to the toast. It's still a nice light snack. The strawberry toast was refreshing and lightly sweet with the honey. The store itself is very cute. Definitely an Instagrammable spot with the yellow truck outside the yellow store. The staff were really friendly and energetic. Appreciate them helping to move the line as quick as they could. read more

Tiramisu, mango green tea, and banana cloud matcha latte were the drinks we got during the soft opening! All drinks are 50% off. There is limited parking around the back but you can find some street parking. There was a line outside on this hot day, but it moved relatively quick. There are seats outside and inside. Staff is friendly. They pointed us toward the parking area and handed out menus to look at while waiting in line. There's a drive thru. Tiramisu was bitter. Not the sweet taste I was expecting, but my coffee-loving husband really enjoyed it. Mango green tea is good-you can taste the tea. Not too sweet as well. I've had the banana cloud latte before and really enjoyed it but this time, they ran out of whole milk so it tasted a bit different. But because I know it tastes better with whole milk, I still rate this 5 stars. The grand opening is. 06/20, with 50% off drinks AND toasts. I have yet to try their snacks so maybe I'll do that next time. They also sell cute la la land merch. Cute shop but I prefer the SoCo location because it's more spacious and closer to where I live. read more

It was so delicious--perfectly balanced, refreshing, and one of my new favorites. The team was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The only thing to keep in mind is that parking is pretty limited. Also, don't make the mistake of parking across the street at the bakery--they don't allow it. FINALLY Barely a noticeable line today, pretty sure it is a timing issue~ lots of hustle & bustle going on behind the counter, my drink was ready in less then 10 min. A nice observation is they have a person standing where the prepared drinks appear & he very loudly announcing your name & drink so there isn't a crowd waiting to get thru to get your drink Ordered the Lala Latte iced, tastes nice a bit sweet which I like plus I asked for whole milk they usually make it with no fat also offer in matcha opposed to espresso which is my preference Clearly this will be a neighborhood destination as parking IS HORRID!! one way in~one way out and maybe 4/5 sppaces total and if your on 35th headed towards Mopac you need to make a left turn all the time hoping the drivers waiting at the stoplight take pity on you to allow you to cross infront of them..... First off, the positive things: the branding of bright, cheerful yellow makes you feel like you're definitely on vacation mode, and the staff there are cheerful too. However, when we tried to use their app for the Buy 2 get 50% off deal, the app had a backend error and we could not use it. The line wasn't bad on a week day, but for my strawberry cloud matcha latte I wasn't that impressed. Overall, I wouldn't come here as my first option if I crave matcha, but maybe the other drinks are better. My friend really enjoyed their banana coffee-based latte though! read more

I want to like this place but the experience is stressful. They always have one person at the counter. They cater to online orders which effects the customer experience. They always piece meal your order so you have to get up multiple times and sometimes finish your food before your drink is ready. There is no organization so everyone is trying to figure out where to stand for their order and where to stand to order. You also have to go through a crowd of people to get your order. This could be a great place if they put more of a focus on the customer experience. read more

Not a place to stop for coffee on your way to work. There are only a handful of parking spots, some of which are so tiny it's hard to park in. I saw a large suburban block in a small SUV. In addition, there's no drive through even though I was told there was one. The inside is open air concept making it extremely hot. You can't enjoy yourself as there's flies swarming everywhere. It takes longer for them to warm up a croissant than to make a latte. Speaking of the late, the small size is the size of my thumb. read more

I'll split this up into parts: 1. What I actually got and what I thought 2. The location 3. something else that isn't their fault but matters So: 1. I got a matcha lemonade and it was excellent. Very different, not sweet and unique. The cup and straw are honestly not a throw away - very sturdy and super cute touch with the heart shaped straw that I am keeping. Very refreshing drink on a hot day, and I am glad it was because... 2. The location is terrible. There is practically no parking so I had to park down the street and it was hot, so the cold lemonade helped. And also to the lady in the white Rivian who drove through the parking lot going the wrong way? not cool. Which takes me to the 3rd thing... 3. The customers. Now, they can't help this but you should know that space is at a premium and apparently courtesy and kindness among some customers is, too. Everyone is jockeying for position, entitled drivers of high end cars don't have any consideration in the parking lot and it doesn't end there. Seriously it's so ironic considering what this place is known for, which is love and peace and all that. The pickleball outfit wearing, BMW driving crowd wants a word, I guess. Still, I'll go back. I'd recommend going on a less busy weekday or something to avoid the stroller mafia. read more

I love this coffee place super yummy. Unfortunately there was a large black hair in my avocado toast today. Well, I do love the avocado toast and it is quite yummy. The hair on the side was in fact not as yummy. I only find hair delicious unless you're super sexy, and I fear the barista was not super sexy.
