Cafe Du Bliss is such a cute spot! The workers were very sweet and helpful, and the location is convenient with plenty of parking. The inside is on the smaller side, but it's clean and has a few places to sit and get some work done. I tried their new Earl Grey matcha and really enjoyed it. Both the Earl Grey and matcha flavors came through really well without one overpowering the other. It wasn't too sweet either, and I loved that it still had a nice, strong matcha flavor. I also tried the croffle, which was just alright for me. I'd probably stick to the drinks next time since that seems to be where they really shine. I've become one of those people. The ones who quietly drift away from coffee and discover matcha... only to become completely obsessed. No regrets. If your goal is to settle in with your drink, get there when they open at 9:00 because those seats disappear faster than free samples at Costco. My friends put me on to this place, and it did not disappoint! This cute café is tucked away in the Arboretum shopping center in Austin. It's kind of hidden in a corner, so if you're having trouble finding it, I recommend using one of the large maps on-site to make it easier. I ordered the Banana Matcha Cloud and a Blueberry Croffle. After my first bite, I immediately regretted not ordering a few extra croffles for the road--but I guess that just gives me an excuse to come back and try the rest of the menu. If you're unfamiliar with croffles, they're croissants pressed into crispy, buttery perfection in a waffle maker. They're topped with an assortment of mouthwatering ingredients before being served, making for an incredibly aesthetic (and delicious) treat. They also serve warm, freshly made taiyaki with a variety of fillings that are just as tempting. This place stays busy, and for good reason. Even if there's a line, it's absolutely worth the wait. I was back at Cafe Du Bliss for coffee and taiyaki. My latte of choice...chocolate matcha with pistachios. This was my first taiyaki, which tasted similar to a waffle yet much lighter. This sweet bread was shaped like a little fish and filled with sweet potatoes. To my surprise, the sweet potatoes were yellow with a hint of sweetness. Their flavoring was pronounced, however, not overwhelming. The amount of sweet potato filling could have been reduced. My barista was pleasant in fulfilling my order. Corn Cream Matcha latte: The minute I saw this on the menu I knew I had to get it. I have seen corn matcha and lattes in California many of times, but never in Austin. A corn matcha or lattes is one of those drinks that is a challenge. You can either totally miss the corn flavor or overdo it. I think Cafe Du Bless gave me the perfect ratio and this drink was so yum. Give me 3 to go please. Earl grey matcha cloud: Their matcha cloud is so fluffy-as a cloud usually comes. But here's the thing can we please compliment it's perfect whip and the green on these matcha's! In regard to the earl grey taste itself, it was so well infused. Banana latte: Okay so as we all know banana flavors got as popular as strawberry last summer. I love a banana latte, but it's fair to say that even if a banana flavor is easily accomplished it's also hard to strike a balance, too bring consistency, and still allow the espresso to come through. Once upon a time, Disneyland released a drink called the Banoffee, it was a hit! I absolutely think Cafe Du Bliss came close to that trend with their banana latte. Their coffee is just so so good! I got my friends hooked on their coffee and I've been slowly making my way through their entire menu. I recently tried out 5 new drinks: Pistachio Latte, Injeolmi Latte, Dalgona Brown Sugar Latte, Sweet Potato Latte, and Earl Grey Matcha Cloud. I like the pistachio latte more than the injeolmi, both were great but the pistachio was more nutty creamy and paired so well with their espresso. The dalgona latte was okay, I prefer the coffee with a cream top. The sweet potato latte was good, but I think the other latte drinks were slightly better. The matcha was okay and the earl grey flavor was very light, it was good overall but I prefer their coffee over matcha. They have Wi-Fi so you can work there, but the music and noise level is pretty loud so I wouldn't plan on taking any calls. The large iced Injeolmi Latte ($6.75) is one of their most popular drinks and was recommended to me so I ordered it. Just a heads up that the small comes with one espresso shot and the large comes with two. Unfortunately it was a huge letdown. I've been to Hana World many times but for some reason never tried Cafe Du Bliss. So I was very happy to finally try it at their new location in the Arboretum! I met with my friends in the afternoon on a Sunday and it was quite busy - all the seats were taken. But the service was great and speedy. I got the pistachio matcha latte and loved it. The matcha latte itself was good but I also really liked the crushed pistachios on top. I also tried their croissant waffle with strawberry + banana and it was delicious. I'm obsessed with their menu because there's so many fun flavors and specialty drinks that you don't always get to see in cafes. Also shoutout to the Korean owners! This cute little cafe saved me during my weekend conference held at the Renaissance Hotel in Austin. Luckily it's super close that I could walk over there during midday breaks and grab a snack to come back. This delightful cafe makes me feel as though we're really in Seoul! It's a small interior with seating and a walk-up ordering counter (ample outdoor seating). Hands down, one of my favorite Korean cafés in Austin. The signature lattes are amazing, and I love how they highlight Asian flavors. They're all good, but the Corn Latte truly has me in a chokehold! A delightful cafe that's now located in the Arboretum area! I remember seeing this at Hana World Market before it closed and always meant to give them a try. Now that they're so close by, I've already visited twice to try out their drinks and croffles. So happy for them to see that they seemed fairly busy both times. The inside is adorable with its cute interior decor, bright lights, and calming cafe music. The place is a bit on the small side so a line can form pretty easily but moves quickly. They have a few tables as well as seating by the front, so it can be an option to get some studying or work done. So far, I've tried their injeolmi latte, matcha strawberry latte, cookies and cream croffle, and banana chocolate croffle. I loved the injeolmi as someone who loved the Korean rice cake growing up - it comes with a little spear of the Korean rice cake pieces and the powder sits at the bottom of the drink which I personally enjoyed with each sip, and has a great not-too-sweet, comforting flavor. Their matcha strawberry was decent with the strawberry not overpowering the matcha, but I definitely prefer the injeolmi. You can't go wrong with their croffles - both times had a lovely crispy exterior with a soft interior, very much reminiscent of croissants. I personally enjoyed the banana chocolate more because of the fresh fruit and lovely flavor combo. Each time I have been, the staff are very friendly and sometimes seem to know the customers themselves. I'm looking forward to going again to try one of their other drinks and maybe a taiyaki. I came here on a Sunday afternoon and I was surprised to see that the line ran outside the door. Granted, it's a small store but there was still quite a wait. It is located in a very nice area, which I liked because you can enjoy your drink outside while taking in the beautiful scenic views. Or you can grab a drink while shopping in the area since it's located in a big shopping plaza. There is a limited indoor seating area. I ordered their Matcha Cloud Latte. The drink was very creamy and yummy. The strawberry syrup was perfect. I also got their custard Takayaki. It was warm and the texture inside was nice and chewy. It was the perfect mid-day snack. I've recently been on a personal mission to find my favorite coffee in ATX as I am a huge coffee lover and drinker! North Austin is in a coffee drought! I was grateful to find cafe Dubliss in the heart of the arboretum and bought coffee for myself and some coworkers! I didn't try all of the drinks so the two that I did try will be the main focus of this review- I bought the following drinks: Black Sesame Latte, Mocha Latte, Dalgona Latte, Caramel Latte, and Pistachio Cream Latte. My latte was the black sesame and had a sweet and nutty flavor. The one tweak I would give to this specific drink is it felt milk heavy so I would probably ask for another shot of espresso next time to compensate for that. Drinking this coffee felt more like a dessert than something I would reach for, for the morning but nonetheless was not bad! The Dalgona latte is the other one I tried, although it wasn't much albeit. Honestly I was surprised that this latte wasn't as sweet as I expected it to be. Again I only took a couple sips so maybe had it been mixed around it would have provided a different flavor but I didn't mind it not being super sweet! The others I was told were very good- particularly the pistachio latte which the one who I got it for had said was the best pistachio latte they have tried and was happy with the choice even though they usually drink hot coffees. Overall I think cafe du bliss is pretty good cafe but not completely to my taste. I probably would try again, especially because it's conveniently in North Austin! Service: 10/10 the girls that were working were very sweet and didn't let the big order phase them! Coffee: 7/10 not the best coffee I've had but also not bad! I've seen Cafe du Bliss around for a while and I had been wanting to try the corn latte for ages! So when I finally got the chance, I was raring to go. Located inside Hana World, it's a pretty convenient spot to grab a drink if you're eating in the food court, or just getting some grocery shopping done. The seating area for Cafe du Bliss itself is really small, but you can always just take your drinks to the food court and sit there instead. The drinks themselves are so good! Everything is made fresh to order and the owners/workers are so friendly! The corn latte lived up to everything I had envisioned. It was sweet enough for a non-coffee drinker to enjoy, but not too sweet that it became sickly. The corn flavor was subtle but you can tell if you're looking for it. I also tried the sweet potato latte. If was also good but I didn't like it as much just because it had a bunch of chunks of sweet potato in the bottom which made the texture of the drink grainy. A great addition to the Arboretum: friendly service, delicious drinks, and yummy taiyaki. The corn latte was subtly flavored, but rich -- felt more like a treat than a daily habit. The mochi topper was a nice touch. I also shared two taiyaki with a friend: cheese and sweet potato. Both were delightfully fresh, crisp waffle-like fishies with ample filling. Such a satisfying snack. I'll definitely return for another soon -- the red bean caught my eye. read more
