Cafe is located inside the Austin Central Library and its adorbs and good. Ample counter and table seating as well as living area style with sofas (no food or drink zone). They've games you can play and books, a small gift shop area, etc. Serving brekkie, lunch, snacks, tea, soda, coffee. This would have been a five star review but... Boyfriend ordered a crème brûlée frappe and I ordered a vanilla bean frappe. The labels on our drinks were accurate. However, we both received crème brûlée. It's fine because it was delicious and not worth wasting. I just really wanted vanilla lol.
Our first encounter with a coffee shop entitled Café Crème was in Cannes, France. Not sure if these coffee shops are related or separate and distinct. The coffee shop is connected to the Austin Central Library through a shared entrance. Café Crème is a medium-sized coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating with floor to ceiling windows. The view from the coffee shop is aesthetically pleasing. You walk-in, grab a menu and place your order. You pick up your drink from the counter and they deliver food to your table based on your table number stand. Service was quick and efficient. With our first time dining at Café Crème, we had no idea what to expect. The hubs and I were on brunch date in which I selected the restaurant. I ordered the croissant sandwich with turkey, brie and chutney, which came with kettle chips. The hubs opted for bacon, egg and cheese tacos. The food was ok. I also had a Creme Brule latte (rather fitting for a cafe called Café Crème), which was quite tasty.
Wow, I LOVED eating here. I had originally just come to check out the architecture of the library, but I thought I'd stop for a quick bite. I didn't expect to be one of the best dishes I've had in my week here. I got the savory crepe madame, and it was incredible. I also got the frozen crème brûlée coffee, and I like that it felt like a refined caramel beverage. All in all, I would certainly return. The service is largely self-serve, though the staff is nice. Great location with tons of space, mix of "living room" style and coffee shop style seating.
Pretty cool local cafe attached to the Austin Public Library @ Downtown. They make a good matcha, and their coffee is great too! Love their crepes, but a little on the pricey side. Pastries are serviceable - not bad, but nothing to write home about either. Be prepared for a long wait when you come here during lunch time, though!
The place is super cute! They have an outdoor patio and also indoor seating which is super charming. I got their spring seasonal iced honeycomb latte. The espresso was very smooth, and the latte was slightly sweet without being overly. Lowkey pricey but it's super cute and good spot for coffee :)

What a beautiful cafe! Thank you to all the lovely reviews that helped us decide to visit this cafe. This cafe is right next to the library and there is parking available with an hour free and later charged. We ordered drip coffee, espresso, everything seed bagel with light cream cheese and egg bacon cheddar sandwich. We also tried the short bread cookies and they were delicious! Everything was made to perfection. The ambience was amazing! Well lit, airy, the staff is very friendly. A must visit if you're a local or visiting Austin.
Overall: 3.9/5 [dine in] Cafe Creme is conveniently located right next to the library, so it attracts a lot of people who come to study. The space is huge and unique, with art on display that you can buy. Menus are left at the front for you to review, and when you are ready to order you can go up to the cashier. They give you a table number so they know who to bring the food out to but drinks are picked up at the counter by the cashier. They have self serve water and to go box stations which are convenient, and the restroom code is printed on the receipt. Nova Scotia Crepe ($16) + Fried Egg ($2): Smoked salmon, honey mustard, spinach, tomato, onion, capers. It was good with the fried egg on top but tasted a bit plain without it. I prefer smoked salmon on a bagel with cream cheese rather than in a crepe. Saigon Crepe ($16) + Fried Egg ($2): Skirt steak, potato, cheddar, onion, spinach, soy sauce. This crepe is not available after 8 PM. My husband got his without cheddar, so I thought it was lacking flavor. However, my husband liked his crepe and thought it was better than he expected. Collagen Protein Latte With Oat Milk: Tastes like it sounds, a collagen iced milk coffee.
I love the new Cafe Crème location at the central library! I've been their other location many times to work at and grab a coffee but this location has an amazing happy hour with $5 cocktails. You can't beat that and the cocktails we had were very spirit forward and delicious! They make delicious crepes as well, both savory and sweet. This place is a great day and night time spot, is beautifully decorated and I will be back.
Absolutely delicious spot! From our coffees to the food to the service, had such a great experience. It is a walk up and order place. They give you the drink at the counter and bring the food to you. We asked questions and the server was great at providing details and recommendations. The food got delivered, some a little slower than others. But all tasted wonderful whether it was the almond croissant or the smoked salmon sandwich or the crepes. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Inside was a little cozier but it was really busy so we sat outside. The place stayed consistent with the crowd as well. You do have to pay for parking in the garage or on the street.
This is a cute, casual place for coffee and sandwiches. They have a decent amount of indoor seating, as well as some nice covered outdoor tables. The location itself though is surrounded by homeless folks since it's right next to the library, and while we were there they had to get the police involved to help remove a gentleman who wouldn't get out of the way of the ordering line.
Enjoyed a brunch with my friend on the patio at Café Crème. The portion size was very generous and ambiance was beautiful. They also have a small area with local items for sale (earrings, shirts, mugs, etc)
The view outside and the decorative inside are beautiful! The barista that checked us out and made our drinks was nice and informative. However, I personally found the flavor was a little bland for me. This is great walking distance from Uchiba and Proper if you need an after meal coffee.
Great spot to meet up with friends downtown or grab a quick bite after visiting the library. There's plenty of seating inside, and the space is bright, spacious, and has a really nice atmosphere. The drinks are great, we tried the coffee, smoothies, and matcha latte, and everything was really good. They also have delicious crepes. Overall, this is a great cafe and a really good chain. I've been to several of their locations, and I've always had a positive experience. Definitely a place I'd come back to! read more

Café Crème is located inside the Austin Central Library. Please note they have two separate areas to order. You can order directly inside the cafe at their main cashier, or they have a window accessing the library's main lobby where you can place an order through one of their self-order kiosks. I decided to go with the latter since I just wanted to grab something quick and explore the library. Placing an order through their self-order kiosks was very easy and my order was ready in probably five minutes. Please note I visited on a Saturday morning and they were crazy busy, but the staff was working hard to ensure they got everything out as quickly as possible. My coffee was delicious and exactly what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend coming to Cafe Creme and taking your drink to-go so you can explore the Austin Central Library. read more

The coffee here was wonderful! I really enjoyed the easy walk from the Proper hotel. I'm not from Austin. I'm from Houston, but this was a nice little café to enjoy coffee and a nice read from the library. The people are very kind and generous! I saw this place last time I was at the Austin Public Library. I luckily had an opportunity to grab breakfast here while on my way to an event hosted by a clothing brand across the river at Butler Pitch & Putt. I originally wanted Desnudo but the line was too long when I walked by, and this was an easy route change from where I first started walking from. There was no line and I ordered very soon after arriving. They have plenty signage and enough menus to go around for everyone! I got an oatmilk PSL and lox sandwich on bagel (you can get it on croissant too since this is a French inspired cafe). The PSL was lovely, and the lox sandwich lasted for my whole walk from Cesar Chavez across the Pflugerville pedestrian bridge with limited cream cheese melt. The lox bagel sandwich has beat the other bagel shops I've tried here, although I technically haven't ordered the exact same thing at the others. But I can tell that it's on a different, more "NY" level. Kudos to the owners & what a great location by the library! read more

Absolutely fell in love with this cafe. I was meeting some colleagues for a library visit when I noticed the library didn't open until 9am. Then I noticed the attached cafe was open! I walked in from the street and was transported to the cutest, cozy, chill cafe. The menu was extensive with delicious breakfast and lunch items! The drink menu had everything! And the ambiance was so inviting! There is plenty of seating and the staff was very nice and accommodating. I ended up ordering the Mexican latte and it did not disappoint! I don't have a picture because my colleagues showed up. Highly recommend! read more
Cute coffee shop located near the Austin public library in downtown. It is very spacious with lots of tables and fun board games you can borrow to play. I ordered the salmon crepe and it was a good portion but a little on the pricey side at being over $15. I enjoyed the side salad which had a lot of fresh ingredients and a tasty dressing. Would be a nice place to get work done or study, though they do have a sign posted to limit your time at the cafe for an hour or two. read more

this is a beautiful cafe conveniently located inside the library. it has everything you need for a cozy hang or study session: comfy armchairs and couches, plus plenty of card and board games to choose from. the matcha latte was good, and i loved that the cups are nice and big. the service was very friendly as well! that said, i wasn't super fond of the layout near the entrance. the order counter is really tight and right next to the door, which makes the area feel pretty cramped. they also mentioned they could do latte art for my drink but didn't end up doing it, which was a little disappointing :'( read more

This place is awesome, and I don't know why that surprised me, but I did not expect a café next to a library to be awesome. The environment is beautiful, it was packed with people who just wanted to share the space, and the service was quick and efficient. Plus the drinks were good. I must've passed this café a million times on my way to the library and I don't know what took me so long to finally stop in, but I'm glad I did. read more

The cafe has a nice, aesthetic atmosphere. I liked the silverware, it was weighted right and it has nice grip on it, it has little grooves that feel nice on my fingers. However the food was ok. The Saigon crepe had too much soy sauce. And the weird thing was the soy sauce had a weird sweet taste to it. Coffee was good but it was a little too sugary for my taste. The Vietnamese coffee was high-key on point My brother says that his Nova Scotia crepe was yummy! Complimentary salad was super yummy! Overall would recommend! :) Some could be improved, but the silverware was wonderful. My fingers had fun. read more

Super sweet owners and kind staff. Lovely interior and huge gathering space outside on the patio! The crepes were so YUMMY and my iced latte was delicious served in a cute mason jar. I loved all the options they had to offer and will definitely be back!! Perfect location to step right onto the trail to run or walk and parking was easy you can even get an hour free in the garage. read more

Cute spot right in the Austin library - I stop here when I'm looking to get work done. The crepes are nice and the crème brûlée latte is nice and sweet. The shop itself has plenty of space indoors and outdoors to set up in but you also have the whole library at your disposal which is the beauty of this location read more
Cute new spot at the library in downtown. The prices are on par with what other crepe and coffee shops around Austin are offering. The space is welcoming and well lit with plenty of seating. It's not the best coffee, but not the worst. Their lattes definitely have an artificial taste to it and their crepes are fine, nothing noteworthy. read more

Oh no... I felt this place might have promise. Lox crepe was waaaay overpowered by honey mustard drench!! Service was fast, friendly. Crepe itself was perfect, so I picked off the "ick" and enjoyed the delicious delicate crepe. The lox literally died in that horrible honey mustard!! 'Might try the crepe madame next time, tho' after today, probably not!! read more

Spacious Cafe in the Austin Public Library offering beautiful views of the city, comfortable ambience, and delicious drink/food options including inventive crepes. Perfect spot for doing work, meeting with friends, or reading a good book from the library. read more

the atmosphere here was very cute, and the coffee my friend got looked really good, but DONT come here if youre looking for quality matcha. i guess i shouldn't be surprised but the matcha here wasn't great and just tasted like sweet milk. i would maybe come back to try the coffee (?) read more
