Fresh as can be pastries

I've known Nate and Susan for a while, but this was the first time I'd been able to make it into their shop! We came by early in the morning on a Friday after finishing up a yoga class next door at Black Swan. We were warmly greeted and our order was taken promptly. The coffee and cappuccino were good, but it was really the homey atmosphere and good vibes that made our visit great. Oh, and getting to see all the baked goods coming fresh out of the oven and getting put on display. Can't wait to return for a cinnamon roll.

Nate's checks all the boxes - local, cozy indoor/outdoor seating, exceptional cold & hot coffee drinks, the best baristas, but most importantly: homemade pastries that might be better than Mom's. Show up early to grab a Blueberry & White Chocolate Macadamia Scone - not overly sweet, crusty but never dry, stuffed with soft nuts and baked bursted blueberries. It's like heaven, and perfect every time.

The food was less than what I had hoped for. Especially after spending $45 for 3 people. I went hoping to try the blueberry scones but they were out. So we had the sausage cheese croissant which my daughter did not enjoy. I had a ham and Swiss cheese that tasted a day old. And my husband had a fruit danish. Which was served cold. The pecan coffee I had didn't taste one bit of pecan. Again my daughter didn't like the matcha drink she ordered. She said it had chunks at the bottom. So it was not even stirred correctly. The location is a nice little place. Good parking. Cute outdoor seating area too.

It was good I ordered a spinach egg finish bacon sandwich It was a great view love the atmosphere. I would recommend it if you're in Austin

Ham and cheese biscuit (pretty minimal on the ham and cheese - wouldn't get again for the price); Chocolate Chip cherry scone

Loved this place! The atmosphere is cute and cozy, and it's obviously popular with a line but it moved quickly. A little expensive, but I enjoyed my food and drink and the experience.

Really cute spot to grab a coffee and walk around Clarksville! I wouldn't say there is much indoor seating, felt more like small tables to wait until your drink is ready. Also. Nate's is next to a gym studio so lots of post workout people coming through too. Good vibes and laid back. Had some front patio seating on a nice day as well. Would definitely come back next time I'm in the area!

Cute and cozy coffee shop off W 5th st. It has both indoor and outdoor seating, located in an older house with limited seating inside. Ordered an iced cappuccino and I enjoyed it - one of the better ones I have had in Austin. Coffee was not burnt and did not have to wait too long. They have a variety of pastries and sandwich options that I am curious to try the next time. Outdoor seating is very cute but the day I went it was very loud because that area is also where trucks unloaded for the apartment building across the street.

What an adorable hidden gem this place is, and with the most delicious baked goods and the most satisfying coffee!! It was my first time here, tried their latte, sausage kolache, blueberry scone.....everything was literal perfection! So tasty and perfectly cooked! Can't wait to come back for more!!! :) They have a big menu, with lots of options for everybody. Indoor & outdoor seating, and enough parking around. Sweet staff and quick service!!

Hard to find? Yes! Worth the Find? Absolutely!!.... Its hard to believe that a place this small can pump out So many scratch made items....The service is "Austin" very friendly and welcoming...watching the customer engagement they treat everyone like family. An IG photo caught my attention and I had to have it...But first we had to try a few of the freshly baked snacks....A blueberry scone first, which renewed my faith in scones...chewy, tender...oddly shaped...made for a great bite and went so well with the killer coffee....the Coffee cake was our snack later that afternoon...perfect amount sweetness with a moist cake....On to the main attraction...Simply put...Brisket on a Biscuit...Super flaky Biscuit, Huge slice of very tender Brisket on top of an egg frittata and a delicious Cold smoked pimento cheese. What a Bite!! Wife rolled the same but with their Super Bun and No pimento cheese (who does that?)...Overall a great experience!

SuperBun Breakfast Sandwich with avocado and brisket. They actually didn't have brisket so they substituted with pulled pork! Delicious.

This little unassuming bakery & coffee shop is tucked away in the corner nearby Better Half and Hold Out Brewing. I pretty sure the housing structure was maintained from what may have been a family residence, so it can be very easy to miss. BUT this also plays to Nate's benefit, creating a cozy, homey atmosphere. All the servers are incredibly sweet and accommodating as well. If there is one thing you come here for, it is the SuperBun Breakfast Sandwich. This sandwich is just so unbelievably well-crafted: smoked pimento cheese, a perfectly shaped egg frittata, all on a glazed bun. If you ask me, just pay the extra dollars for the smoked brisket and avocado. You seriously will not regret it. It also comes with your choice of a mild or spicy salsa on the side (get the spicy). I also recently got the oatmeal cream cookie, which was quite delicious! So the reason I give this place 4 stars is that everything else is just decent. Their lattes? good. The scones and biscuits? Also good (I think they can be a bit on the dry side). But the magic SuperBun??? This one item carries this whole bakery. Mad props to the chefs who came up with and execute this sandwich.

Can't go wrong with a Nate's cinnamon roll with a latte, or cappuccino. Also love the Goldenmilk latte. One of my favorite stops in Austin!

Unfortunately, the kitchen just wasn't on their game this day. We went for brunch and it is a lovely restaurant with some amazing looking pastries. My ratings of the food we got are below. Overall, everything was just okay and not something I would order again. Our order: Salami and cheese - 1/10, not even edible with how much olive oil they dumped on it. Hard cheese and meat. None of us touched it. Frites - 9/10, hard to go wrong here. Nice and crispy French cruller - 7/10, I think this is just personal presence here I wished it was warmed up. Flavor was good but it was a little dry. Burger - 5/10, the flavor is there and definitely has potential but it was so bloody and rare which is not what we asked for. My friend has a gluten allergy and she asked for the burger lettuce wrapped and it just came on top of a huge chunk of iceberg so wouldn't recommend that if you want it lettuce wrapped. Chicken sandwich - 8/10, this was good with a nice crispy chicken. It could have used something sweet to balance the spice though it was a little one dimensional.

Upon entry was greeted by Melissa and sat in her section. The decor is very diner type with low, cozy booths and few tables and chairs. Ample amount of food and def had take away box. Everything was tasty and the buttermilk pancake was amazing with just syrup. Melissa was kind enough to provide little cups to take syrup home along with the tael away container. They had a daily special and a board above the kitchen with other items. I drove by it for 20 years on the way to Avenue Barber Shop. I wanted shredded beef tacos but couldn't get them without cilantro so I chose shredded beef enchiladas (with an $8!) side of chips and salsa. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries. She requested soft eggs, as she always does because too many places overcook them. The chips and salsa arrived. I was immediately disappointed. The menu said "we make our own chips." They were thick and yellow and appeared to be run-of-the-mill, out-of-a-bag chips. I prefer the thin white ones. I took one bite of salsa, and that was one bite too many. Cumin. I pushed it all aside. Cumin doesn't belong in salsa. (Sorry. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley.) My enchiladas came with black beans, and there was cumin in them. Cumin is overused and abused in most restaurants. I couldn't eat them. The rice was good but the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was not. I scraped most of the sauce off and ate one enchilada, mainly because I just needed something in my stomach. We were still 45 miles from home. I pushed my plate away. I also ordered coffee. One sip of that was all I could stand. Too weak for me. It gets worse, much worse. My wife's eggs were barely cooked. She asked the waiter for some cooked eggs. He took her plate and returned about four minutes later. The eggs were still not cooked. She tried another bite but couldn't eat them. Her bacon was tough as a boot and not chewable. The home fries were average, but by the time her plate arrived at our table for the second time, they were cold. I pulled my card out waiting for our excellent server to return. He asked how everything was (he had to notice two plates still covered with food) and we politely told him. I ate one enchilada and some rice. My wife had two bites of egg and two bites of potato. He apologized and handed me the check. $65. Nothing comped and nothing adjusted. A manager should've been summoned. How does a place like this have any customers? It was our first and last visit.

It's a small space, with only around eight tables and a tiny kitchen behind the counter. It's a bit hard to locate from outside. There's no big sign on the window indicating the restaurant's name, just a plastic A-frame sign outside the building's doors. When I got there, four of the eight tables were empty but the dirty dishes had not yet been cleared. It took close to 10 minutes for the tables to be bused. Because the kitchen is so small, I'd recommend going up to the counter to order as soon as you get there. I believe you can also place your order online using the QR code on the table, but I didn't try that method. I ordered the lox n found, a toasted croissant roll with smoked salmon, avocado, dill ricotta, arugula, onion, and capers.
