I am a sucker for a pretty pastry. And all these pastries are so pretty. Got the rose raspberry croissant which was delicious and beautiful,

Famous for their pastries, that's why I had to come and try it out. I didn't know it is inside a hotel. Inside Fairmont hotel (4 stars hotel). No wonder the pictures look so good. Is it the best crossiant, no. Maybe the most fancy looking. They pour some kind of shinny mirror glaze on top of the crossiants with a small gold leafs for decoration. Inside is airy and has honeycomb structure. $8 is pretty good deal consider they put extra decorations on it Coffee cake is very moist. More like a pound cake. I was supirse to see coconut Horchata on the menu. Not bad at all. It can be a latte with a shot of espresso. Very interesting combination

Adorable spot in the Fairmont hotel. Service was good, nice workers & quick. Ambience is cute, they have little toys, shirts, and souvenirs. I'd give that a 4.5 based on that but for the food/ drink aspect: 3.5, 4? There wasn't a big selection of pastries the way we thought they would- maybe about 3 types of croissants, the brioche and some other things. Kind of a better, bougie Starbucks. The flavors of both were great, the husband and I loved the Vanilla brioche pastry. The blueberry lemon poppyseed croissant was delish but a bit too sweet and overpowering for our tasting. Definitely feeling the sugar rush. The vanilla Brioche Danish was smooth and creamy, good balance of flavor

My sister and I stopped by for a quick caffeine boost - we were a little lost because the cafe is inside the hotel and you have to meander in (we got a lot of friendly greetings from hotel staff lol). It was a solid coffee shop - I got the blueberry muffin latte with oat milk and really enjoyed the blueberry flavor. My sister got the hazelnut latte and liked it. The only reason I'm docking a star is because I paid $10 for my drink, which is pretty high.

I got the hot matcha latte which was decent but not my favorite. I also got the vanilla pastry which looked very crispy but wasn't as much when I ate it. I ate it later that evening so potentially it got soggier by then? There was a vanilla bean filling that was tasty.

Good Things is located in the Fairmont Hotel. I was looking for a coffee shop that was walkable, and it is in a great location if you're staying near downtown, Rainey Street, or East Caesar Chavez district. The menu changes daily, but they have a lot of great options with seasonal flavors to go along with classic coffee choices. They also have a great selection of breakfast sandwiches and pastries. I had a seasonal flavored latte and a jaw dropping beautiful Nutella croissant. The latte was so good and not too sweet. The Nutella crescent was flaky and filled with Nutella. They box it nicely in case you can't finish it and need to take it to go. There's a nice little gift shop in the coffee shop and plenty of seating just outside in the hotel lobby. The atmosphere was clean and elegant. Staff were friendly and service was very fast. I will be back!

I absolutely love this spot for their specialty cakes! I need to wake up early once so I can try their croissants! I got the lemon cake and it literally looked like a lemon. Luckily it tasted as good as it looked! Definitely recommend to stop by and check out this incredible cafe whether you are a guest at the Fairmont or are walking by in the area!

Ok so worth the $8! But find two other people to get the others so you can share haha They were so soft and moist despite looking crackly and Almost even dry. It was so delicious and had a great amount of sweetness. Was not hard to demolish even after a full breakfast.

Good things is a cute spot!! I saw it on TikTok and decided to drop by to at least try the pastries. It is inside of the Fairmount hotel and they don't have a designated parking lot so when I came I told the valet I was just running in to get stuff to go and they told me to just leave my car out front and I gave them the keys. When i got to the cafe I ordered a breve latte iced with coconut flavor and a couple pastries including the vanilla brioche Feuilleteé (it's a soft knot pastry full of vanilla cream - delicious), and the pistachio almond strawberry tart which was very pretty with a shiny mirror glaze; also quite tasty but the glaze was indeed a bit on the gluey side (nevertheless I really enjoyed it and ate all of it though!). The baristas were also helpful and friendly, and while they made my drink I looked around the little gift shop area since they also sell little Austin things and convenience store type items. They do also have little pre made salads and sandwiches. Overall i really liked good things, it's cute and the pastries are fun! Wish it was a little more accessible ie with the parking (like if you wanted to get a drink and stay there I'm not sure how that would work), but still - the hotel is very nice and the valet folks were helpful so if you're getting stuff to go it should be no issue.

They completely sold out the first time we went and we decided to come back a week later! SO delicious and worth it (terrible parking options in the area though). We briefly met the pastry chef and she was so wonderful! The tarts are so beautiful and unforgettable. The croissants are so flaky and so many layers. Would recommend!

I saw this place getting some hype recently for their pastries so thought I'd try them out. Unfortunately they were out of the croissants by 11am or so, and I got there at 2ish. So instead I tried a peppermint flavored pastry. I was a little unsure about the flavor but it was amazing! Stuffed with peppermint flavor too without being too overwhelming. The pastry itself was one of the best I've ever had. Whomever does the baking here knows what they're doing. The cafe is in the Fairmont hotel. People working there are nice and attentive. I absolutely plan on coming back to try more someday soon, and would recommend others try it out!

I was intrigued by the holiday pastries and wanted to give it a try! Pricy, but worth it (most lattes were $9 and the croissants were $7-$8 a piece). A super cute coffee shop and bakery located inside the Fairmont hotel downtown. All kinds of barista drinks, grab-and-go items, cute holiday gifts and boutique stuff to purchase, and a beautiful assortment of freshly-baked artisan pastries. Pro tip: You can self-park in the parking garage for FREE under 30 mins.! QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Street parking (free on Sundays) or self-parking garage (free under 30 mins.). - Reservations? No, this is a bakery/coffee shop for grab-and-go service. - Working space? Not really. There are tables outside of the entrance for hotel guests or to drink/eat, but it's not the kind of place I'd sit in all day. FOOD & DRINK RATINGS: - The Grinch drink (4/5, not pictured): A seasonal frozen frappe drink with matcha, espresso, peppermint, and white chocolate. Honestly so good, the best combo! I only wish they had put it in a cold cup with a straw because I got it in a hot cup with a sip-lid and it wasn't as easy to drink. - Pistachio croissant (5/5): This was so decadent and delicious. The combination of pistachio and cherry were perfection! Buttery, flaky, and soft. A very rich croissant. Giant and fluffy. - Black Forest cherry croissant (5/5): Loved this one, also! Cherry with a white cream and chocolate. Sooo good!

Pastries are very tasty! Not too sweet. Loved the almond croissant. Worth another trip to Austin

Some leave their dogs on the overly nice furniture, leaving fur behind. It doesn't bother me, but I can understand how it would bother others looking at this as a restaurant, instead of what it is, a daytime coffee lounge and an evening cocktail bar. If it were just a coffee shop, there wouldn't be enough outlets, and there should be more pastries. If it were just a bar, it'd be a little too bright in the daytime, and the laptop workers (me included) would hurt the cool cocktail vibe...BUT it's not just those two things. It's both, and they do a remarkable job of accommodating everyone while maintaining a chill vibe. Seriously, everyone has surprised me with how nice they are here, and we're lucky to have something so architecturally significant with high-end indoor/outdoor furniture. This could just be another $$$ restaurant that detracts from the city's culture rather than adding to it.

I came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed, every single outdoor table was full but some of the picnic tables were long enough to share which is what we ended up doing. Even though it was very busy our order really didn't take long at all. You order at the counter and are given a number there to bring to our table which is nice. They had one of my favorite ciders Smell the Van which I loved! And my fiancé had one of their iced lattes which he said was excellent. For food I tried their new sandwich, the FRIED GREEN BLTomato SANDO (english muffin, bacon, lettuce, fried green tomato, remoulade, farm fried egg) and my fiancé had their CARNITAS HASH (crispy fingerling potatoes, pork carnitas, fried egg creamy poblano sauce, pickled red onions, cotija cheese). My fiancé loved the carnitas hash. My sandwich was pretty good; I don't think I'd order it again though. I think it'd be better without the spicy In-N-Out style sauce on it and if they offered it on sourdough instead of the English muffin (since it's stacked so high it's really messy to eat). One thing that was a bummer was that they don't carry ranch dressing. I wanted a side salad but they only had a vinaigrette dressing which I'm not a huge fan of so decided not to order the salad. I'd definitely come back and try something else on their menu though!

Ya know, in a good way. The highlight was the pozole verde soup. This wasn't a traditional pozole, but it was an absolutely delicious variant.
