LA Crawfish has always been a favorite of mine and luckily, another one has opened up near my parent's home! My friend and I came here on a Tuesday afternoon during spring break. Naturally, there weren't many people here except for a family or two. We went to the counter and ordered the usual: 6 pounds of a mix of cajun and garlic butter. We also got our usual condiments: hot butter and the cajun powder. I love how this place is BYOB, so while we were waiting for our order, we made our way to the beer section in 99 Ranch to grab a 6-pack. By the time we got back we had just enough time to get situated before the tray of piping hot crawfish came out. A piping hot it was. I thought the bag would melt since it was so hot. In order to cool down the crawfish, we dumped the whole bag in the foil tray that it was given in and used the bag for the shells instead. The crawfish is delicious as always, juicy, spicy, with tons of flavor. We enjoyed every bit of our meal. After our meal, there was a hand wash station with a foot pedal right near the condiment table which was the best. No dirty doorknobs or sink knobs. Genius. Overall, this place is great. Stopped by 99 Ranch recently and just had to fulfill our crawfish craving once we saw LA Crawfish! My friend and I had their crawfish & a michelada. Tip- you have to buy your beer from the market, they don't supply it, they just supply the michelada mix! Crawfish- I ordered garlic butter medium. Sauce was really good, except it was only flavorful on the outside, not so much the inside so I had to keep dipping the crawfish back into the sauce after I peeled it, which I didn't mind too much. Crawfish was pretty big as well! Medium spice wasn't spicy at all, I would probably take it up a notch next time! It's a serve yourself joint- you order at the counter, they give you your drink & plastic table cover to eat your food on. We had spicy beef pho and Cajun curry. The pho was rich and tasty with the perfect amount of thinly sliced beef. The Cajun curry comes with a choice of meat, we had shrimp. There was also sausage and potatoes in it. The flavor had a Thai hint, probably because of the coconut milk. Both were generous portions and high quality. read more

I would totally give this place 5 stars but I really don't know much about crawfish. Personally I loved it. I still think about the flavor. Another good thing is that I didn't find any small uneatable shrimp like at other places. After you are done eating yourself into cardiac arrest there is a very convenient sink station where you use your foot to turn on the facet. Genius. It's a small thing but it def prevented me from wrestling the facet knob like other places with my greasy fingers. read more

And they also have like a garlic noodle pho, but without the actual soup and it has like sausage, crawfish, and shrimp I think inside of it. So great!! I came here previously and had a very poor experience! After providing some detailed feedback on my past visit in which they've responded. I decided to give them another shot. Subsequently, I've been here 3 more times after that and each time has been great! By far, LA has the best crawfish! I love their seasoning! It's unique and addicting! If you like spicy, like real spicy, they're the place to go! Their wings are delicious and their crawfish pho is unmatched. They sell soda and it's BYOB so don't forgot your beer! 99 Ranch Market sells beer but their selection is inconsistent. How can they run out of dos equis?! I recommend stoping somewhere else before arriving. These guys are popular and can get very busy on the weekend!! Some more feedback, depending on who's in the back, the crawfish style/taste can very. On 3/10 evening, whoever was boiling was heavy on the seasoning and a little lighter in the juice. It was the best crawfish I ever had in my life! It was so good and spicy!!! Loved it! Today, 3/13 evening, the cook was heavy on the juice with a little less seasoning. I've been to several locations and this one to me is the best one they are very quick and the flavoring is very good! I also really like it because it's in a shopping mart where you can go and do your shopping while you wait for your food. The only thing I don't like is the prices they are pretty pricey but I guess you get what you pay for. read more

Highly disappointed! Brought my out of town family, stood in line for 15 minutes only to over hear the cashier tell the guests ahead of us they "ran out of crawfish". There was no sign or indication before we waited. I had to take my family to another venue to get their mudbug fix. I was really looking forward to trying the crawfish here, and was pleased with the pricing. I took the Cajun style crawfish that I ordered home with me.... had to stop by the grocery store to pick up horseradish because LA crawfish didn't have any cocktail sauce! (And 99 ranch only had wasabi) They didn't run out of it, just didn't serve any! Unfortunately even with the cocktail sauce, the crawfish had a strange "fishy" taste, one that ive never tasted before with crawfish. So much so that I wonder if they added fish sauce to the seasoning? I ordered Crawfish Etoufee and Calmari. I got this delivered. I got the bowl of Crawfish Etoufee. I got 5-10 per cent crawfish and the rest was a liquidy roux. Nothing at all like Pappadeauxs. The crawfish were tiny. The Calamari was decent enough to get 2 stars but the small amount of cocktail sauce was a joke. Will not be ordering from here again. If you have Crawfish in your name you should do a good job with anything having to do with crawfish and not skimp in portions or condiments. read more

Theres soooo many more good crawfish places with better service in the Katy area such as bb'S cafe or yummys crawfish. I only went here because they also offer pho. Their crawfish is not that great and the size is small. During off season they serve frozen crawfish. They also gave me a pretty bad batch of crawfish. I came to la crawfish on mason road on Monday March 11 at 7:30 pm. Nina told me they had 3 lbs of crawfish and double checked with the kitchen and told me I could only order 3lbs because they are sold out. While I'm waiting for my order dan goes to the pregnant lady behind me and tells her they have 3 lbs left. I brought 4 adults and 5 kids with me ready to eat crawfish and so disappointed they begged to go somewhere else. We came from sugar land and memorial city just to come because la crawfish had PhO and crawfish. Since pho shack is run by bad owners we didn't support their business anymore. Everyone was pretty upset. I asked dan why he didn't ask if we wanted it because we were at the counter at the cut off when they told us they were out of crawfish we had ten people and they only offered us 3 pounds. I was going to order about 8-10 pounds, and I couldn't purchase any other food. If I didn't have 5 kids with us we would have taken our business elsewhere but the kids were already hungry so we were forced to order other food. He responded that he didn't take my order and at the time they didn't have more crawfish. I asked him if a crawfish truck went and dropped off 3 pounds, he told me they re weighed their crawfish and found out they had 3 more pounds and only knew the 1 person behind me didn't get any crawfish. So I was falsely advertised and forced to purchase things like chicken fried rice that no one even ate because we were told there was only 3 more pounds of crawfish. The chicken on the fried rice was like rubber. I didn't even receive an apology. Nor did he offer more crawfish to me and my party. I refuse to come back to LA crawfish and I will be forced to write a very bad review commenting the bad service, false advertising, bad management and unfair treatment to customers. I asked who the manager was and it was the guy dan so I figured there was no hopes for any kind of apology offers. I'm never coming back and I hope my friends stop coming to LA crawfish. They didn't even care how pissed off I was I even heard dan telling Nina she's not getting in trouble for it and laughing about it in the background. LA Crawfish is awesome. The staff is always nice and very willing to adjust. They willingly make plain crawfish for my son who swears he can only eat plain crawfish. Rarely are the bugs too small, and usually when I'm pushing my craving past what the season really should be. Their Crazy noodles are loved by my wife (apparently they are NOT called crazy noodles, but I dont know what they're called) LA Crawfish is our goto crawfish place. okay, this is a PSA for everyone. we did not dine here. but i have to say something to warn my fellow foodies and yelpers to think twice about coming here. i was in the restroom and had to wait a significant amount of time for a stall because both were in use. in the larger stall was a LA Crawfish employee. she came out and was on the phone..i thought to myself, "she better put that phone down and wash her hands...". i ignore the open stall to watch her (i know, don't worry, i had time to spare). she stands in front of the mirror, turns the sink on and i think, "great, time for soap, put the phone down for some soap". but no, she turned the water off and stood there to continue her convo. my mom comes out and she joins in on the show. so we're both standing there, waiting for this LA Crawfish employee to wash her hands. Finally, she giggles her way out the door. no contact with water, soap, or a towel. so, the end. good luck! read more

I am so happy one has open in Katy! I use to frequent the Blalock location but this one is more aesthetically pleasing! Not sure if its bigger than the Blalock one or just appears to be bigger since its more open. But anywho...I have been here several times since they open. Very convienent being inside 99 Ranch so I can eat then go grocery shopping or grab some to go once I'm done grocery shopping. The food and service has always been on point. Employees are quick to help and there is no attitude or annoyance coming from them even when it's super busy. They serve the Viet style crawfish, and I think their garlic butter spicy is the best. Hot and Sour is a close second, very unique. Crawfish has always been hot (even after taking it to go and not eating for a couple of hours) and juicy. If I'm not eating crawfish, I'm eating their pho. They have a few specialty phos and the traditional ones. No other pho restaurant out here in Katy compares. The flavor and broth is so good. Wings are good too, a lot of different flavors but I always get the spicy garlic. Oh and don't forget the beignets at the end, so good! The food might not even be my favorite thing about this place, its the hand washing sink in the dining area!! Nothing more annoying then having crawfish hands and doing the walk of shame holding them up to the bathroom to wash off. read more

The snow crab was definitely NOT worth the 30 dollars I paid for 1 pound. The snow crab had not been cleaned properly and was over boiled. The atmosphere of people playing their own music over the restaurant's was extremely overwhelming and a complete turn off to myself, my guest, and others. Most LA Crawfish locations are byob and we were told we couldn't have hard liquor or wine while dining at this location, however other guest came in and were allowed to have hard liquor at their table. The food was good. I was wanting alligator but they didn't have any. The crawfish empanadas were good, but small. The crawfish po-boy was loaded with crawfish and the bread was also good. The soft drinks are all plastic bottle or can (including tea). They do offer free cold water but it doesn't make up for the lack of tea or ice. I think all the kinks will get worked out soon though. Oh my goodness! SAVE your $$$. I am so disappointed in LA Crawfish. We used to drive miles into town to the other 99RANCH off I-10/Gesner area just for the crawfish. We were so excited to see this open in Katy at our 99RANCH, but seriously, I am so so disappointed. We went 4 times and all 4 times, the crawfish are over-cooked, unflavorful, and they taste horrible. It reminded me of crawfish you get at the buffet, they tasted unfresh and frozen.
