    Tofu special
    Kevin C.

Inside has fun wall art designs and very friendly staff. The service was quick and attentive; they were sure to go over the daily specials-- one of which we got the tofu special. We thought it was an appetizer but it was a vegetarian dish and came out with a full side of rice and other veggies. I also got the cafe sua da. Both this and the water come out in these cool little mason jars. We also got the bun cha gio thịt nướng as well as the com thịt nướng. The flavors were good but not exactly what we are used to, so that's the only reason they got a 4-star. Otherwise good spot to get your Vietnamese food-fix.

First thing we were acknowledged immediately and greeted kindly when we walked in. Husband got a banh mi, I got beef curry, the food came VERY quickly , and I was blown away by the freshness of the food here. I even had to ask if the bread was made there- she said they get it from a local bakery very early in the morning. Wow- fresh bread daily? Impressive! 100% will come back

It's a cutely decorated casual bistro with about 12 tables. Really good spot for lunch. The server was sweet and the food came out really quickly. The food was really solid ! Ingredients were fresh and the food was flavorful. It didn't leave me feeling heavy and was very fairly priced.

    Shrimp fried rice

I usually just get pho from here but yesterday i got shrimp fried rice and it had egg shells in it . I did call today instead of yesterday because I'm extremely busy . They just offer me apology . But please start checking food throughly before you eat . My pho is always good

Nick was so amazing! The general General Tso chicken is so yummy! If they have the hot chili dumplings, definitely order it. It was on the special menu. The soup (PHO) is incredible, especially the filet mignon. Everything we tried was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this place. Get the sweet-and-sour sauce on the side and yeah, does it work with everything the homemade chili sauce. I'm so happy this is located right by the Bucees. The lo mein noodle is a 10 out of a 10!!

Upon entering, I immediately noticed the 30-35 ft ceilings. Hanging from the ceilings are cool sphere light fixtures that has 5 candle light bulbs. There's about 14 tables and looks squeaky clean with plenty of natural light. On the left wall there are paintings of various Vietnamese landscapes and food. This was my first time here. I ordered egg rolls and a Pho Đặc Biệt. The egg rolls came out first. They were homemade. Had a little pork filling with vermicelli. Nothing special. The Pho came out piping hot! I love hot soup! The presentation was A1. The meat portion was on the lighter side. The pho broth was very light. I can definitely taste the fish sauce but not the other "Pho" spices. It was lacking depth. I had to add plenty of hoisin sauce and sriracha to it to make it enjoyable. Overall, Vietnam Bistro is a clean and cute Vietnamese restaurant with better than average presentation. The Vietnamese flavors aren't as pronounced as I would like it, but I'm not the only person who eats here.

The food was good, the drinks were good, and the service was pretty good, if a little slow. Overall, I think this is a pretty good place to eat and I will be going here again. Also, if you need recommendations, I'd recommend getting the Cơm Chiên Chay (vegetable fried rice) and the taro bubble tea.

    Thai tea
    Cassandra S.

I was not impressed with any aspect of my lunch visit to Vietnam Bistro. Service was slow, and the food was not that great. I asked for a Thai tea, which to my disappointment was clearly made with powder rather than actual tea leaves. The menu makes it look like the tea is genuine, since the bubble teas are a whole separate item on the menu. When I asked a server (not mine - she never came back to the table until I needed the check), he was confused by my inquiry and thought I was asking for boba to be put in the drink. I took two sips and left the rest there. It was nasty. For my entree I had the pork vermicelli bowl, which wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't great. The pork lacked flavor and was lukewarm. I will not be coming back.

    Cross contamination
    Claudia C.

This piece of shrimp was found in my vegetable pho soup and I am allergic to shrimp so this means that there was some cross-contamination. Highly disappointed because I always loved coming here.

We stopped here on a road trip after seeing the good reviews and were very disappointed. The vermicelli was okay, but was really more of a stir fry. I got the house special banh mi and this was the lowlight of the meal. It literally had two thin slices of meat on a 10 dollar sandwich and the bread was way overcooked practically cracker crunchy.

Vietnam Bistro is conveniently located off of I-10 and Cane Island Parkway; it is ridiculously close to both where I live and work, so I'm a frequent diner when I'm craving fast pho! Not the best Vietnamese food in the Katy area, and prices here are a good deal higher, but the service is fast and friendly. Great place to go if you're in a rush and need a bite to eat: fast!

I'll admit I was a little skeptical going in because I genuinely think my favorite pho spot in Texas is still in Austin where I live. That being said, Houston has such an incredible Vietnamese food scene that I've been making it my mission to try as many of the highly recommended spots as I can! When my pho first came out, I thought the broth was rich and flavorful, but it didn't immediately blow me away. Then the manager came over and started chatting with me, asking where I was visiting from and what some of my favorite pho spots were. He even asked what style of broth I usually like, and after I told him I tend to prefer a richer broth, he brought me a side of their fatty broth to add in. It made SUCH a difference!! It added so much depth and flavor, and I appreciated that he took the time to personalize my meal instead of just serving the food and walking away. What impressed me even more was how attentive everyone was. The manager noticed I'd asked for to-go containers even though I'd barely touched my food and came over to make sure everything was okay. I had to explain that I just wasn't as hungry as I thought I'd be haha. He was SO kind and even packed me an extra container of the fatty broth to take home, which was such a thoughtful gesture. We also ordered the grilled pork vermicelli, and WOW...it was honestly one of the best versions I've ever had! The pork was incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. Between the delicious food and the genuinely amazing hospitality, I can definitely see why Pho Dien is so well-loved. Next time I definitely want to come back and try their bone marrow pho!!

We ordered the Combo Pho, and it was absolutely delicious. The broth was rich, flavorful, and tasted like it had been simmering for hours. It had that authentic homemade flavor that's hard to find. The portion was generous, with plenty of tender beef, meatballs, and noodles, and all the fresh herbs, bean sprouts, lime, and jalapeños made it even better. Every bite was comforting and satisfying. We also tried the egg rolls, and they were perfectly crispy on the outside while staying juicy and flavorful on the inside. They paired perfectly with the dipping sauce and made a great appetizer before the pho arrived. To complete the meal, we ordered their tea drinks, and they did not disappoint! They were refreshing, perfectly balanced in sweetness, and a great complement to the warm bowl of pho. Whether you're craving a classic milk tea or a fruity tea, they have something for everyone. The restaurant itself was clean, comfortable, and had a relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for family dinners, lunch with friends, or even a quick solo meal. The quality of the food, generous portions, fair prices, and excellent service make this place stand out. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese comfort food, Pho Dien is definitely worth a visit. We'll absolutely be coming back to try more of their menu. Highly recommend the Combo Pho, crispy egg rolls, and one of their refreshing tea drinks!

This place delivered where it mattered most, especially with the highly reviewed appetizers. Probably one of my favorite drinks here was the Thai Green Tea. It has a really interesting flavor that stands out from regular Thai Tea -- more earthy, but not quite like matcha (we guessed there might be pandan in it). Just a heads up: it's definitely on the sweeter side. My partner and I actually let the ice melt a bit before continuing to drink it, which helped balance things out. I came back a second time and still loved it just as much. The dipping sauce felt like a truly authentic representation of Vietnamese cuisine. It was a lightly diluted fish sauce with spicy red pepper and plenty of garlic -- simple but really flavorful. I also appreciated that the table setup let you customize it to your taste. In my first experience here, we ordered the Bánh Xèo, Bánh Khọt, and Bánh Bột Chiên. I was hands down a huge fan of the ginormous Bánh Xèo -- crispy, flavorful, and just overall my favorite (though I'll admit I'm a little biased toward it already). Meanwhile, my boyfriend completely fell in love with the crunchy Bánh Khọt. That said, I did notice a slight graininess in the Bánh Khọt, which took away a few points for me. The Bánh Bột Chiên was solid and got a pass from us, but it wasn't our top pick -- mostly because we've had better versions elsewhere. Other worthy notes: the herbs were fresh and crisp, and the pickled vegetables were refreshing as well (though my boyfriend thought they could've been a bit more strongly pickled). Eating everything the traditional way -- wrapping it in lettuce with herbs -- made the whole experience even better. Honestly, I would come back just to order two Bánh Xèo. I actually came back a second time before posting this review, this time with my family. We ordered the Bắp Xào, Cơm Chiên Bò Lúc Lắc, and a simple rice dish. This visit was a bit different -- across the board, we all agreed the dishes leaned too salty this time around. I could also tell the staff was overwhelmed, with only two people handling both the front and the kitchen, so it was tough to get their attention at times. That said, the Bánh Xèo still held its ground. My parents were genuinely impressed by the size, and for me, it's still an absolute banger -- something I'd come back for again and again purely for flavor and value. The Bắp Xào really stood out to me in a nostalgic way. I loved the use of traditional Vietnamese corn, and the sautéed dried shrimp brought back memories of flavors from dishes I grew up eating, even if I couldn't quite pinpoint which one. While my mom thought it was too salty, I actually felt like it would pair perfectly with a bowl of plain white rice. I also tried some of my brother's Cơm Chiên Bò Lúc Lắc and found the beef to be tender and flavorful, though not particularly standout compared to other places. I've had very similar versions nearby, but it's still my brother's go-to -- though I suspect that might also be his way of loading up on protein. Overall, even with the inconsistency during the second visit, I still really enjoy Yummy Quan -- especially for the appetizers. It's a place I'd bring family and friends to try, and I'm still curious about more of the menu... but realistically, I could live life on Bánh Xèo alone. At the end, you also get to grab some guava candy, and for anyone who's never had these, don't forget to pick some up -- they're simply delectable!

I did not like the bun rieu, was too sweet... probably because different region so rieu balls were different than I was used too also. At first it was just us and one other table, but not long after, more people started coming in, probably for lunch as well. The restaurant is pretty large, with both tables and booths, plus a big table for large groups. This is what we ordered: Combo Rolls This comes as a sampler with five different types of spring rolls. Regular spring rolls, nem nuong rolls (fermented grilled pork), grilled chicken, grilled pork, and shrimp only. I really liked this idea because it lets you try everything without having to order each roll separately. My favorite was the nem nuong roll. Bun Bo Hue I do not eat pork blood or pork loaf, so I substituted them with more tendon and beef meatballs. Because of that, I cannot really comment on how the pork tasted. The broth was okay but a little lacking in flavor. After I asked for shrimp paste, it tasted much better. Bo Kho (Beef Stew) This is my husband favorite dish, so he always orders it whenever a place has it. He ordered the one come with bread as dipping. He did not really like this one. It was not bad, but not great either. The flavor was missing, and the broth was more watered down than how he prefers it. Still, it is worth trying if you like beef stew. Overall, our experience was just okay. The service was fine, but the food did not leave a strong impression on us. We did not stay long since my husband had to get back to work. I would come back to try more dishes, especially pho. Since their name is Pho Guru, I feel like the pho might be better.
