Com tam is our go to place when coming to Katy Asian town. The comfort food here just has the flavor I'm looking for. The service is such a home feeling and accommodating to my kids. It's a casual dine in mom and pop shop that deserves more attention. There's Vietnamese dishes like ca kho, canh chua, thit kho, your com tam (broken rice) dishes and more. I really like them and they are very filling. The Shrimp paste spring rolls were also an interesting dish. Inside the roll is a rolled piece of fried wrapper so there's a nice crunch when you bite into them. The dipping sauce was rather interesting and different and I'm not sure if it's good or bad. It's a mix of shrimp and pork I was told but there's egg as well but I can't pinpoint anything else. It's an odd flavor and I'm not sure if it really works that well with the shrimp roll. If that sauce is traditional then I'm just not used to it. If not, I think they could serve it with Nuoc Cham and it'd be great. Service was ok but I think it was because it was just the one guy.
