    Tofu vermicelli dish
    Iris H.

Binh personally engaged with us at his restaurant, and he created a fantastic experience for us! We were looking for gluten-free vegetarian dishes, and he made it possible to enjoy delicious Vietnamese food that accommodated our dietary restrictions. The presentation was absolutely beautiful, as you can see from the photos here. The restaurant is very clean, and everyone who works here is very friendly. We highly recommend it, and we will be back!

You order at the counter, pay, and then find a clean table. I can't say that I'm a huge fan of paying for a full service meal upfront because they ask also for gratuity upfront. If the service was bad, I don't want to tip more than the standard, and if service was great (or the kids made a mess), then I would want to tip more. The pho surprisingly took a long time to come out considering it wasn't very busy and the broth is pre-made. We only ordered two Dac Biets, which usually comes out quicker than fast food orders at our other go-to pho restaurant. Not a huge deal. The pho itself was good. It wasn't my favorite, but it was on par with most other places. Would I still recommend ordering it? Yes They sold soup spoons for $3 each. I'm guessing because the customers had interest in buying it. I thought that was kind of interesting. The suite is small so it can only fit a few tables. We went shortly after normal lunch time and it wasn't busy.

We ordered a large selection of dishes for a New Year's Eve lunch for our company. Sandwiches, pho, vermicelli, spring rolls, egg rolls, rice and more. Boy, was the lengthy drive well worth it. Each of the dishes were delicious and obviously not frozen, microwave products. I intend to go back and try the huge selection of warm and cold drinks. The prices were reasonable, and the restaurant was is VERY CLEAN and attractive. Thank you very much, Pho Binh!!

Delicious, plenty, clean, fast and friendly. Just what we needed on this cold April day.

Not authentic pho. Broth tasted like salty beef broth from a can. Had zero pho spices whatsoever 0/5 rating

We dined here when they first opened. It was just okay. Went here last night for a quick dinner. We both ordered pho and that's not what we were served. I took one look at the broth and immediately knew that this was not pho. It was beef broth from a can. The broth was so dark and salty. There were no pho spices whatsoever. The brisket was undercooked and still tough. It needed another 20 mins of cooking. We are Vietnamese and know what authentic pho tastes like and this isn't it. Very disappointed as we ate at their location by Pearland when it was in a trailer. Even the location on 59S is better. I'm not sure what happened to the food at this location but it is awful. Perhaps their other food is better as they got great reviews, but at this point I'm not sure I can trust these ratings anymore.

I stopped here as I was craving a Bành mí and boy did this place not disappoint. From the quick attention to the front desk and welcoming staff they were on point! I had the barbecue pork Bành mí and small Pho Dac Biet that was a perfect size for lunch. The bread was Crispy on the outside and soft in the inside to enjoy without getting bread crumbs all over your mouth and clothes. In addition, to the burst of flavor as soon as you taste the sandwich. I also indulged into spring rolls shrimp and loved they were cut in half sizes just in case you do not want a whole roll. It was perfect for two people. It is a very calm eatery and you can even work from your laptop here with their wifi! I will definitely be making this my go to spot. Ohhh yeah and they also have teas and DELICIOUS COFFEES. Go grab ONE!

Y'all... I post the good and the bad... rarely do I get to post the GREAT! If you are in Katy, TX... come here for lunch. You absolutely get what you pay for... Ambiance is mellow music, very clean environment, a comically busy parking lot, but this place can be a quick boba stop or a daddy daughter date after the dentist... The mango wings and shaken beef are fantastic. Everything in house. Come here or forever live your life without amazing flavor! -SergeantWortham

P10. Chicken Noodle Soup. Where's the rest of the chicken?

I've been a customer of pho Binh for over 20 years. I finally got to visit the Katy location. Upon entering, you will be greeted with "Hi, welcome to Pho Binh." You order at the front st this location and it has other dishes other than Pho. Unordered the chicken Pho. As expected the broth was amazing. However, the amount of chicken was disappointing. I had 4 slices of chicken. I know there's inflation but dang!! I wonder how much meat I would have gotten if I ordered beef pho, maybe 2 slices?! The decor is clean and simple. There's a I Pho Binh backdrop in the back with a bench for pictures. Overall, the Katy location is clean and the food is up to par.

R6: combination - chicken, pork, shrimp with extra salad instead of rice.

Love this place! Clean and positive atmosphere. Friendly service. Very fresh food! Fast service as well!

Ah this hurts me to give 2 stars to a Vietnamese restaurant. It's definitely not for you if you're Vietnamese or know the difference in what's good and what's not. You order at the counter and the food is brought out to you. The only thing with this is you are asked to tip prior before actual service, unless you brought cash. Service was fine. There was a mixup with the order, but no big deal. We're reasonable people and they fixed it. Now... the food. It pains me! Spring Rolls- Eh you can't go wrong with this. I like that they cut it in halves for you. Pho- I did not eat the pho, but the feedback is that it's lacking in flavor. Combo Rice Plate- Broken rice was mushy. The meat was under seasoned and the chicken was also undercooked. I managed to eat the shrimp but even then, it had a lil weird taste. Like it's about to go bad. The layout was nice and clean. I'm just disappointed and will not be returning.

    Pork vermicelli bowl most excellent
    Mark F.

A most excellent pork vermicelli bowl with egg roll on top. The taste was spot on and the amount of pork was generous and the right combination of ingredients made this a 5 star lunch. The restaurant was clean and the waitstaff friendly and helpful with condiments, etc. Next time we're in the area we will make sure we stop in at Pho Binh!

This place delivered where it mattered most, especially with the highly reviewed appetizers. Probably one of my favorite drinks here was the Thai Green Tea. It has a really interesting flavor that stands out from regular Thai Tea -- more earthy, but not quite like matcha (we guessed there might be pandan in it). Just a heads up: it's definitely on the sweeter side. My partner and I actually let the ice melt a bit before continuing to drink it, which helped balance things out. I came back a second time and still loved it just as much. The dipping sauce felt like a truly authentic representation of Vietnamese cuisine. It was a lightly diluted fish sauce with spicy red pepper and plenty of garlic -- simple but really flavorful. I also appreciated that the table setup let you customize it to your taste. In my first experience here, we ordered the Bánh Xèo, Bánh Khọt, and Bánh Bột Chiên. I was hands down a huge fan of the ginormous Bánh Xèo -- crispy, flavorful, and just overall my favorite (though I'll admit I'm a little biased toward it already). Meanwhile, my boyfriend completely fell in love with the crunchy Bánh Khọt. That said, I did notice a slight graininess in the Bánh Khọt, which took away a few points for me. The Bánh Bột Chiên was solid and got a pass from us, but it wasn't our top pick -- mostly because we've had better versions elsewhere. Other worthy notes: the herbs were fresh and crisp, and the pickled vegetables were refreshing as well (though my boyfriend thought they could've been a bit more strongly pickled). Eating everything the traditional way -- wrapping it in lettuce with herbs -- made the whole experience even better. Honestly, I would come back just to order two Bánh Xèo. I actually came back a second time before posting this review, this time with my family. We ordered the Bắp Xào, Cơm Chiên Bò Lúc Lắc, and a simple rice dish. This visit was a bit different -- across the board, we all agreed the dishes leaned too salty this time around. I could also tell the staff was overwhelmed, with only two people handling both the front and the kitchen, so it was tough to get their attention at times. That said, the Bánh Xèo still held its ground. My parents were genuinely impressed by the size, and for me, it's still an absolute banger -- something I'd come back for again and again purely for flavor and value. The Bắp Xào really stood out to me in a nostalgic way. I loved the use of traditional Vietnamese corn, and the sautéed dried shrimp brought back memories of flavors from dishes I grew up eating, even if I couldn't quite pinpoint which one. While my mom thought it was too salty, I actually felt like it would pair perfectly with a bowl of plain white rice. I also tried some of my brother's Cơm Chiên Bò Lúc Lắc and found the beef to be tender and flavorful, though not particularly standout compared to other places. I've had very similar versions nearby, but it's still my brother's go-to -- though I suspect that might also be his way of loading up on protein. Overall, even with the inconsistency during the second visit, I still really enjoy Yummy Quan -- especially for the appetizers. It's a place I'd bring family and friends to try, and I'm still curious about more of the menu... but realistically, I could live life on Bánh Xèo alone. At the end, you also get to grab some guava candy, and for anyone who's never had these, don't forget to pick some up -- they're simply delectable!

We saw on the door that they're BYOB? Thai Green Tea (4.5/5): Really sweet but with some pretty unique grassy/herbal notes! (Pandan??) Would recommend if they can adjust the sweetness down a notch. We let the ice melt a bit and it made for a great palatte cleanser. Banh Xeo (4.5/5): Definitely one of their signature dishes. I read the reviews on how large it was and it was still shocking! See my hand for reference. It's crispy and delicious. Two downsides: Not enough protein, and not enough lettuce to make wraps with how big it is. But overall, definitely one of the best I've had outside of homemade. Banh Khot (4/5): These little flavor explosions are a perfect bite size and are also a signature dish. Would definitely recommend. A few of ours were light on the pork. Banh Bot Chien (3.5/5): I was dying to try this since there is really one famous spot for it. Their version is very good, but misses on the crispiness. The inside texture and pairing sauces and radish were all very good, it just needed a little more crisp. I love that they give extra garlic and spice and basically let you customize the intensity of your fish sauce to your preference. Paid with no issues via inKind at the counter. We definitely left stuffed and would come back!

We got the roti canai and salt and pepper calamari as appetizers, and the sizzling tofu, beef rendang, CK teow as entrees. - Sizzling tofu (6/5): A MUST TRY! I've never had tofu with this texture before. The outside is slightly crisp and the inside so light and fluffy, it feels like bitting into a cloud. The tofu tastes like a creamy egg soufflé and the sauce is savory and salty with pieces of sauté onions that add a nice crunch. The presentation was also very striking with the server pouring the sizzling sauce over the tofu. It's just such a beautiful dish that I would go back solely for! - Beef rendang (4.5/5): Overall a delicious and hearty dish. The beef was very tender and juicy, and there was a generous amount of it. The potatoes soaked up the sauce very well and made the dish extra filling. I forgot if we got to pick a spice level, but the dish had a nice kick to it and wasn't overwhelming spicy. - "CK teow" char kway teow (4/5): This dish had a lovely char tasted to it that made it very addictive. Just a nice savory noodle dish. I think my only complaint was that the portion was on the smaller side - Salt & pepper calamari (3.6/5): This was a pretty good calamari. The calamari had a light and crispy exterior and was pretty tender and seasoned really well. The chunky veggies were a nice touch texture wise. - Roti Canai (3.6/5): the Indian bread was so nice and flakey, I could've eaten it alone. Service was prompt and quasi friendly. I thought the broth was good despite having an overwhelming aroma of cinnamon. I requested for pho tuoi (fresh noodles) which are slightly bigger than the standard noodles they give you. However, I regretted this choice because many of my noodles were clumped together, distracting from the overall enjoyment of the meal. Additionally, I think there's a heavy usage of MSG in their broth because I felt loopy and very thirsty for water halfway through. Needless to say, I was only able to eat half of the generous serving. For those who are a fan of pho and appreciate generous portions, this place is definitely worth a visit. Their pho bowls are substantially larger than those I've encountered elsewhere, offering a potentially satisfying experience for the more voracious diner but for me, quantity is not enough of a reason to become a regular. Regular spring rolls, nem nuong rolls (fermented grilled pork), grilled chicken, grilled pork, and shrimp only. I really liked this idea because it lets you try everything without having to order each roll separately. My favorite was the nem nuong roll. Bun Bo Hue I do not eat pork blood or pork loaf, so I substituted them with more tendon and beef meatballs. Because of that, I cannot really comment on how the pork tasted. The broth was okay but a little lacking in flavor. After I asked for shrimp paste, it tasted much better. Bo Kho (Beef Stew) This is my husband favorite dish, so he always orders it whenever a place has it. He ordered the one come with bread as dipping. He did not really like this one. It was not bad, but not great either. The flavor was missing, and the broth was more watered down than how he prefers it. Still, it is worth trying if you like beef stew. Overall, our experience was just okay. The service was fine, but the food did not leave a strong impression on us. We did not stay long since my husband had to get back to work. I would come back to try more dishes, especially pho. Since their name is Pho Guru, I feel like the pho might be better.
