New menu is now available to view . They have plenty of parking and seatings . Located inside 99 market food court area .

Haven't had this place in awhile but don't remember it being like this. The crawfish was still very dirty. I got the cajun & garlic butter flavor but because it wasnt properly cleaned I mainly got the dirt/grit taste overpowering There was even a bit of the sea/plastic bag left in my crawfish

Garlic butter crawfish in medium spice

Convenient place in Katy to order crawfish, especially if you want to get groceries and eat crawfish. My parents and I normally order the garlic butter crawfish w/ medium spice every time we order crawfish from here and unlike most Viet-Cajun crawfish places I've been to, they have medium spice as their lowest heat for boiled seafood. It doesn't get too spicy as long as you don't suck the heads and eat the garlic bits too much, but when we ordered about 8 lbs of crawfish, 1 of the 2 bags w/ 4 lbs in each was spicer than the other. Maybe the guy in the kitchen got confused w/ the spice level or probably added a bit more spice though. Despite the crawfish being okay, their wings are good. I mostly order 5 spice basil wings to eat along w/ the crawfish and it was like Taiwanese popcorn chicken but in wings, plus they have chicken bites where you can ask for 5 spice basil in order to make it into Taiwanese popcorn chicken too. They also individually pack some of their condiments, and took away their water refill station due to covid reasons. But they also have gloves up front where the water used to be and there's no extra cost for that and the bibs which is good. I'll still eat crawfish here whenever my parents order it while @ 99 Ranch.

Absolutely the best seafood place in the area. I get the hot and sour spicy crawfish... very juicy.. never disappoints ..

Shrimp poboy with about 5 fries on the side.

Interesting set up. This place is inside of a market, the area looks sort of like a food court. You walk in and order at the counter and then your number is called. I ordered a fried shrimp poboy with everything on the side. The shrimp was good but they are VERY heavy on the seasoning, which is super salty. My order came with fries and I looked like I was given about 10 fries. For whatever reason, it took my food a really long time to come out. My coworker got her food pretty quickly and I was sitting there waiting. The food was good, but I probably won't go back.

Salt Toast Lobster & Magic Cajun Rice
    Alexis T.

I ordered the Magic Cajun rice and Salt Toast Lobster. There was def nothing Cajun about the Cajun rice and it needed more flavor. The lobster on the other hand, was good but def not worth the price! More expensive than other places... I spent $65 just for the two meals and the rice was only $9. Also, I tried my friend's calamari and that was really good, seasoned well. I honestly thought that tasted better than my whole meal.

Ok so our normal hot spot was closed. So my boss, her husband and I went to this spot last night. Staff was nice and facility was clean. Management sucks for making 1 girl I didn't get her name run the front by herself till 8:30 pm. Who ever the pretty boy was who finally decided to come into work. Consider yourself lucky, cause your teammate held it down for you. While you were too busy looking at yourself In the mirror. Snow crab was overpriced $20 for snow crab that isn't very big in size. Flavor sucked and they don't even provide you crackers or scissors to get the little ass meat out. We were there when they started to close down. That's when we had to ask for those utensils and they provided. This is a seafood venue your customers shouldn't have to ask for the equipment to eat there food. It should be automatically provided The husband got shrimp in Cajun mild but it was basically flavorless butter. Boss got fries and Cajun medium. The fries tasted like sugar was sprinkled over them. And the Cajun medium was more of a mild I got snow crab garlic butter extra spicy. It was spicy after I was like a cluster down. But flavor wasn't amazing. I also got the crawfish in Cajun medium being that they are frozen now. It was ok. I also got the shrimp in salt toast. These babies are supposed to be DEEP FRIED and so you can eat everything. Were they? Nah so I had to peel off the skin which was soooo disappointing. As an Asian that lightly breaded shit is an insult to the dish. I also got the chicken wings in spicy lemon pepper. The chicken was the best part. Maybe they should change to wings and pho only. Maybe we are a little spoiled by our hotspot but this was no where near or anywhere close to "good" as we wanted it to be. Will not come again.

I never eat the seafood. All of there places around town have the best Cajun wings. First time trying this location because I was working near it. Why would someone serve all the broken wings? One wing all the meat was black!!! Horrible!!!!

I always get the crawfish or shrimp Pho. Very savory and good ! I go almost once a week. Highly recommended. I also had the cheesy crawfish egg rolls I wasn't a fan of that at all because it's very cheesy not horrible tho. The empanadas are good. The food here is really good can't go wrong. I always go to the Katy freeway location inside the 99 market

This place delivered where it mattered most, especially with the highly reviewed appetizers. Probably one of my favorite drinks here was the Thai Green Tea. It has a really interesting flavor that stands out from regular Thai Tea -- more earthy, but not quite like matcha (we guessed there might be pandan in it). Just a heads up: it's definitely on the sweeter side. My partner and I actually let the ice melt a bit before continuing to drink it, which helped balance things out. I came back a second time and still loved it just as much. The dipping sauce felt like a truly authentic representation of Vietnamese cuisine. It was a lightly diluted fish sauce with spicy red pepper and plenty of garlic -- simple but really flavorful. I also appreciated that the table setup let you customize it to your taste. In my first experience here, we ordered the Bánh Xèo, Bánh Khọt, and Bánh Bột Chiên. I was hands down a huge fan of the ginormous Bánh Xèo -- crispy, flavorful, and just overall my favorite (though I'll admit I'm a little biased toward it already). Meanwhile, my boyfriend completely fell in love with the crunchy Bánh Khọt. That said, I did notice a slight graininess in the Bánh Khọt, which took away a few points for me. The Bánh Bột Chiên was solid and got a pass from us, but it wasn't our top pick -- mostly because we've had better versions elsewhere. Other worthy notes: the herbs were fresh and crisp, and the pickled vegetables were refreshing as well (though my boyfriend thought they could've been a bit more strongly pickled). Eating everything the traditional way -- wrapping it in lettuce with herbs -- made the whole experience even better. Honestly, I would come back just to order two Bánh Xèo. I actually came back a second time before posting this review, this time with my family. We ordered the Bắp Xào, Cơm Chiên Bò Lúc Lắc, and a simple rice dish. This visit was a bit different -- across the board, we all agreed the dishes leaned too salty this time around. I could also tell the staff was overwhelmed, with only two people handling both the front and the kitchen, so it was tough to get their attention at times. That said, the Bánh Xèo still held its ground. My parents were genuinely impressed by the size, and for me, it's still an absolute banger -- something I'd come back for again and again purely for flavor and value. The Bắp Xào really stood out to me in a nostalgic way. I loved the use of traditional Vietnamese corn, and the sautéed dried shrimp brought back memories of flavors from dishes I grew up eating, even if I couldn't quite pinpoint which one. While my mom thought it was too salty, I actually felt like it would pair perfectly with a bowl of plain white rice. I also tried some of my brother's Cơm Chiên Bò Lúc Lắc and found the beef to be tender and flavorful, though not particularly standout compared to other places. I've had very similar versions nearby, but it's still my brother's go-to -- though I suspect that might also be his way of loading up on protein. Overall, even with the inconsistency during the second visit, I still really enjoy Yummy Quan -- especially for the appetizers. It's a place I'd bring family and friends to try, and I'm still curious about more of the menu... but realistically, I could live life on Bánh Xèo alone. At the end, you also get to grab some guava candy, and for anyone who's never had these, don't forget to pick some up -- they're simply delectable!

We saw on the door that they're BYOB? Thai Green Tea (4.5/5): Really sweet but with some pretty unique grassy/herbal notes! (Pandan??) Would recommend if they can adjust the sweetness down a notch. We let the ice melt a bit and it made for a great palatte cleanser. Banh Xeo (4.5/5): Definitely one of their signature dishes. I read the reviews on how large it was and it was still shocking! See my hand for reference. It's crispy and delicious. Two downsides: Not enough protein, and not enough lettuce to make wraps with how big it is. But overall, definitely one of the best I've had outside of homemade. Banh Khot (4/5): These little flavor explosions are a perfect bite size and are also a signature dish. Would definitely recommend. A few of ours were light on the pork. Banh Bot Chien (3.5/5): I was dying to try this since there is really one famous spot for it. Their version is very good, but misses on the crispiness. The inside texture and pairing sauces and radish were all very good, it just needed a little more crisp. I love that they give extra garlic and spice and basically let you customize the intensity of your fish sauce to your preference. Paid with no issues via inKind at the counter. We definitely left stuffed and would come back!

We got the roti canai and salt and pepper calamari as appetizers, and the sizzling tofu, beef rendang, CK teow as entrees. - Sizzling tofu (6/5): A MUST TRY! I've never had tofu with this texture before. The outside is slightly crisp and the inside so light and fluffy, it feels like bitting into a cloud. The tofu tastes like a creamy egg soufflé and the sauce is savory and salty with pieces of sauté onions that add a nice crunch. The presentation was also very striking with the server pouring the sizzling sauce over the tofu. It's just such a beautiful dish that I would go back solely for! - Beef rendang (4.5/5): Overall a delicious and hearty dish. The beef was very tender and juicy, and there was a generous amount of it. The potatoes soaked up the sauce very well and made the dish extra filling. I forgot if we got to pick a spice level, but the dish had a nice kick to it and wasn't overwhelming spicy. - "CK teow" char kway teow (4/5): This dish had a lovely char tasted to it that made it very addictive. Just a nice savory noodle dish. I think my only complaint was that the portion was on the smaller side - Salt & pepper calamari (3.6/5): This was a pretty good calamari. The calamari had a light and crispy exterior and was pretty tender and seasoned really well. The chunky veggies were a nice touch texture wise. - Roti Canai (3.6/5): the Indian bread was so nice and flakey, I could've eaten it alone. The curry was also really tasty and flavorful, just a little bit watery. Service/ambiance: Service was excellent and they gave us so much rice. Service was prompt and quasi friendly. I thought the broth was good despite having an overwhelming aroma of cinnamon. I requested for pho tuoi (fresh noodles) which are slightly bigger than the standard noodles they give you. However, I regretted this choice because many of my noodles were clumped together, distracting from the overall enjoyment of the meal. Additionally, I think there's a heavy usage of MSG in their broth because I felt loopy and very thirsty for water halfway through. Needless to say, I was only able to eat half of the generous serving. For those who are a fan of pho and appreciate generous portions, this place is definitely worth a visit. Their pho bowls are substantially larger than those I've encountered elsewhere, offering a potentially satisfying experience for the more voracious diner but for me, quantity is not enough of a reason to become a regular. At first it was just us and one other table, but not long after, more people started coming in, probably for lunch as well. The restaurant is pretty large, with both tables and booths, plus a big table for large groups. This is what we ordered: Combo Rolls This comes as a sampler with five different types of spring rolls. Regular spring rolls, nem nuong rolls (fermented grilled pork), grilled chicken, grilled pork, and shrimp only. I really liked this idea because it lets you try everything without having to order each roll separately. My favorite was the nem nuong roll. Bun Bo Hue I do not eat pork blood or pork loaf, so I substituted them with more tendon and beef meatballs. Because of that, I cannot really comment on how the pork tasted. The broth was okay but a little lacking in flavor. After I asked for shrimp paste, it tasted much better. Bo Kho (Beef Stew) This is my husband favorite dish, so he always orders it whenever a place has it. He ordered the one come with bread as dipping. He did not really like this one. It was not bad, but not great either. The flavor was missing, and the broth was more watered down than how he prefers it. Still, it is worth trying if you like beef stew. Overall, our experience was just okay. The service was fine, but the food did not leave a strong impression on us. We did not stay long since my husband had to get back to work. I would come back to try more dishes, especially pho. Since their name is Pho Guru, I feel like the pho might be better.
