I go there way too often, but I can't help myself! They always have tasty crawfish, that are huge, and not over cooked. And the staff there is always friendly and doesn't judge me because I can a ridiculous amount of crawfish by myself :) read more

Last night, I got 5lbs of garlic butter spicy crawfish. I was so excited, cause I've been going to LA crawfish on Richmond and they are sooo on point on their flavor and cooking. But as soon as I got the first taste of this locations crawfish i was truly disappointed. I received my order really quick. But it didnt even have similar tastes to their Richmond location, and I feel like the crawfish wasn't cleaned well either. I always thought that all locations of LA Crawfish had one operator, but I hope that isn't true because they need to find consistency! I hate to post bad reviews, but unfortunately this one needed it. Don't waste your time and money on this location!! Take the drive down to Richmond & Weslayan! read more

Not impressed with this place. Went in tonight and decided to get 2lb of the garlic butter crawfish. It was pretty dang bland (I didn't taste much garlic at all) and was definitely overcooked and not very fresh. I will definitely not be eating here again. I would recommend BB's or Boil House for traditional cajun crawfish and Crawfish & Noodles (my personal favorite) for Vietnamese style. Adding (now that they have replied to my review): Thanks for your response. It's nice to see that you really care about your business. But I wasn't saying that the crawfish was overcooked because the shells were soft or anything- the meat itself was stringy and generally just tasted like it had been sitting in a hot pot for way too long. read more

Since the Boiling Crab has been too crowded, over priced, and poor quality, LA Crawfish has come to fill the gap. Located inside Ranch 99 off I-10, it is convenient and cheap. They serve quick and friendly and they come in the plastic bags to help infuse the flavor. It has good flavor and the size and quality was much better than Boiling Crab. read more

I loved coming here and still do - I mean, counter service and BYOB is hard to beat in terms of price. I love their garlicky crawfish and knocking out grocery shopping afterwards at Ranch 99. I went last week and the crawfish was a little on the small side and there were a few mushy dead ones in my bag but nothing to be upset about. LA Crawfish, please put a disclaimer on your 10% check in (whether its Yelp or Facebook) offer. It specifically says 10% off your ENTIRE ORDER and does not say "excludes crawfish" or "excludes specials." This place still deserves a 4 star rating and I will keep coming here because a few dollars doesn't really make a difference to me but I think it is a little misleading when you advertise something to your customers and then you don't honor it. Note: they corrected this recently - the deal says "it currently excludes crawfish" read more

Went here around noon on 5/13 and there was no line and plenty of open seating. Took only about 5 minutes before the crawfish was ready to enjoy. Here's a breakdown of the pros and cons: Pros: 1. Short to no wait to order and receive food. Maybe we lucked out because my friend said he's come other times when there was long line but it moves quickly. I've been to Boiling Crab and there is always a serious wait and the waitstaff is pretty slow. Turnover at LAC is much more efficient due to the self service system. 2. It's BYOB which I like better because all restaurants upcharge for beer/liquor. 3. They had 2 big TVs showing the NBA playoffs 4. Good sized crawfish... XL sized? Not sure about that but they were big enough. Cons: 1. Flavor wasn't all that great. Ordered spicy and there wasn't a kick to it at all. Maybe it was an off batch but a bit disappointed compared to Boiling crab flavoring. 2. Limited seating. It's in Ranch 99 food court so it's understandable but still... lots of folks crave crawfish in Houston! Not a good spot for large groups Gotta try the crawfish empanadas and crawfish pho next time. read more

Soooo there was this one time at band camp...okay now really. This place is pretty bomb when it comes to crawfish...specifically crawfish of asian decent..lol Great Service Great Food Pretty Good Deal. read more

Great price for the quality and the speed of service. Our go-to for crawfish this season! Good size and garlic/butter flavor works well! Nice crispy wings too. Crawfish pho? Now, I don't know anything about that... :P read more

Dynamite Pho We have a place called Hot N Juicy Crawfish in Vegas, but I've never really been impressed with it because the proteins are all clearly frozen. I'm not sure if the ones here were frozen, but they certainly tasted fresher than what we get in Vegas. That said, I ordered the Pho and it was phenomenal! Anyway, the entire group enjoyed everything. I wouldn't bother with ordering crawfish because it is a ton of work for so little meat. I would go with shrimp or crab so you get more bang for your buck! read more

Lately their crawfish were really lack of flavor. Not like before anymore. Never tried other food rather than crawfish so i can't say anything about those. Being back the good'ol crawfish pleaseeeee. read more

LA Crawfish - Crawfish pho - Cajun/Creole Near Me - Houston, Texas

We usually order online and pick up at the 99 Ranch Market! It's awesome! Great customer service, friendly and cool atmosphere. They're fast and anything we have ever bought here is delicious. They're crawfish is almost always affordable and the spice is ON POINT! read more

This place was "good"...but I felt like it lacked a little flavor or kick. I definitely do not recommend their wings. My garlic wings were over friend and REALLY salty :( Overall they were really nice, and the location is convenient. I'd go back...if I were grocery shopping and really wanting crawfish. read more

Best crawfish I've had so far in Houston. You can order it cajun style which is your basic boil with cajun spices, or order it Asian style with buttery garlic. I got 2 lbs of spicy garlic which came in a bag that you dump onto your paper covered table. That crawfish was AMAZING. So garlicky, so buttery, and the spices seriously burned my lips since I like to suck the head (get your mind out the gutter!). I ended up applying ranch from the basil wings--which are also top notch!--to cool the heat from my lips. No worries, it was worth it! I haven't tried any of their other entrees and sides, but if you have a craving for good crawfish (which I always do) then LA is your place. read more

so much better than boiling crab! I love this place because 1) it's byob 2) only $5.99/lb 3) delicious food 4) friendly staff! While I've noticed they stopped adding corn for every 2lbs (was it just a temporary promotion they were having?) this place still rocks my socks. read more

The seasoning of their crawfish is the best I've ever had in Houston, but it is not very fresh or well cooked, because the meat tends to fall apart whenever I'm peeling. I've also had their pho, wings, and fries as well. All of which are pretty delicious. Their pho is greasy with a lot of MSG, but it's still very good because it's very beefy with a lot of flavor. The wings are good, but they are very seasoned and can be a bit salty. A bit too intense for me, so only eat a few pieces and share with the group. The fries here are amazing. They really know how to season and spice up their food. They are very crispy and regular cut. Despite of not having the freshest or best cooked crawfish, the seasoning is what keeps me coming back. I regularly come here. read more

This place is so bomb! The crawfish is so good and very very seasoned, their boiled shrimps are AMAZING!! I tried their King crab for the first time and it was really really good!! Everything their is just so good!! read more

Great experience. My table had 3 pounds of crawfish, 2 pounds of BBQ shrimp, and I myself had the colossal crawfish poboy. Everything tasted fantastic and the wait was very short despite it being a relatively busy time. The TVs were on March madness, which I also enjoyed very much. After we left, someone in my group realized they left their keys, and the great staff had gotten them and kept them for us. They made sure we could describe the keychain beforehand(Don't want strangers getting the car) great experience read more

Hands down the best tasting crawfish in town. The flavor is just one of a kind. So good that I would want to take a scoop full of the sauce, and put it on rice and use that as a meal in it self. Will never disappoint. Will def go back and get more. read more

Absolutely DISGUSTING crawfish. At $8.99 per pound, I would expect something edible!! Completely overcooked. I suspect they used frozen crawfish. The most awful crawfish I have had this season. I ordered through Dash Door, and the delivery service was great. I paid $62 for 5 lbs of crawfish that we pretty much threw in the trash!!! read more

Crawfish is the the best here, Size really does matter!! I love the Spicy Garlic Butter !! Crowds come and go, so be patient if when you arrive there is a long line. Food comes out really quickly so don't let that scare you away. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE. Enough said. Love, love their spices. They are not always consistent with their crawfish, but nevertheless, you can't beat $5.99 lb. Get their basil chicken wings, its the bomb also. Their pho is ok.... Not very filling though... read more

Everything here is delicious. They have 3 different flavors of Crawfish and all are tasty. I'm not a fan of spicy so they are just right for me. LA Crawfish - Lemon pepper wings with Crawfish empanadas - Cajun/Creole Near Me - Houston, Texas

It's crawfish season, and this was my first place to hit up for the fix (Super Bowl Sunday!!!). Unfortunately, I decided that I wanted both crawfish and crab, the latter being a major disappointment. But to be fair, here is a review of each: Crawfish - 4 Stars - I am a fan of the butter garlic flavor b/c of 1) Butter and 2) Garlic. It was savory and spicy, but did not completely overpower the tastebuds to the point that you wouldn't have known crawfish was what you were eating. I like to taste those critters with the sauce enhancing the flavor and my senses, which LA Crawfish did pretty well. I think I ate 6lbs. Crab - 1 Star - Maybe it was b/c crabs are not in season (which is what I was told), but I ordered 4 crab, which cost ~$20. I kid you not: THREE of those crabs were rotten. I opened them up, and out gushed water. There was no plump meat, and the coloring was grey. The crab looked like they were probably frozen prior to being starved for a month. The ONE crab I did eat was decent enough. The meat was white and plump, but after opening the others, I was so disappointed and disgusted, i just threw $15 bucks in the trash. BLEH! NOT COOL, LA Crawfish inside 99 Ranch!!! Not cool.... Overall, I might come back for the crawfish, but I would have to think again about the crab. Perhaps I will try 1 crab during the in-season just to be sure. =/ read more

I like how their traditional Cajun boil Crawfish as it is pretty spicy compared to other crawfish restaurants They also serve fast. My biggest complaint is that they mix in frozen crawfish with their live crawfish. It's disappointing that they do this when their competitors at this price point do not and it can kill your pallet if you get an especially bad one. LA also does not offer as many flavors as the other popular crawfish restaurants in town. read more

I am a huge crawfish guy! Went to 2 crawfish places, one on Thursday and one today. After a bad experience at one I came back to yelp and I saw some good reviews for LA Crawfish and I decided to check it out. The place is VERY small and was packed so i just decided to take the crawfish to go. Must say crawfish are above average for sure. I didn't get them spicy enough so I need to go back again and see how they are then, but the quality of crawfish was very good. Some of the crawfish were very large. Price was 70 dollars for 10 pounds, 4 potatoes and 4 corns... Not bad but not cheap either. 5.99 a lb if I remember correctly. Either way it was worth the money and I will be going back again. read more

After coming to LA crawfish four weeks in a row, I finally realized...I'm an addict. I am completely addicted to the juicy, garlicky, spicy, deliciousness, found in their steaming plastic bags. Every week I bring a different friend, so they can also be addicted. It works! I LOVE crawfish. This place has the best crawfish I've been able to get my hands on. Not only that, being able to order in a super market makes the venture much more affordable. Pick up a nice selection of imported beer, stop by the bakery for dessert, and you have yourself a meal for cheap. I always go for lunch, and never have had to wait. The people that work here make the experience even more enjoyable. My mouth is starting to salivate as I write this, I'm going to have to call a friend soon and see if I can get my fix! read more

I was never a crawfish fan myself, but I was once introduced to the place. Hooked! Thaz it. And their crawfish is huge~! Massive! And the atmosphere there makes me feel like home. Staffs are friendly and fast. Definitely go back again. read more

No-nonsense, but well-thought out setup and WONDERFUL seafood. Best crawfish I've had in Houston hands-down, and shrimp and crabs were delicious, too. Line was long due to popularity, but moved quickly. Awesome seasoned fries and yummy Pho as well. Only place I've been able to find the Louisiana boiled-seafood trifecta (shrimp, crawfish, crabs) in Houston. Loved the make-your-own dip line. Service was fast and everything was super fresh. Seating is reasonable but tight given the popularity of the place, not crazy like Boiling Crab. My only two pieces of criticism: I get that boiled seafood is supposed to be messy, and it's nice to get the moist juices in the bag full of critters they give you. But some buckets or trays would really go a long way to containing leaks and peelings. Secondly, there was no hard silverware available to break open the crabs. Yes, they had crackers, but that doesn't work as well on the small blue crabs. Plastic silverware doesn't work either, we just needed a table knife or fork. Chopstick eventually did the job, but awkwardly. Anyway, everything was delicious and will definitely be back. Add raw oysters and I'll never leave! read more

My husband and I are avid crawfish eaters, so we decided to try this place out. It is on lots of lists of top places to eat crawfish in Houston. I have no idea why. We ordered 3lbs of cajun, 1lb of garlic butter, and 1 lb of hot and sour. The crawfish was ready in about 2 minutes. The crawfish was very overcooked. It was dry, tough, and very fishy. The hot and sour tasted like nothing, the cajun was bland and boring. I will admit, the garlic butter was delicious. If it had been on edible crawfish, this would be a different review. The garlic butter is the only reason for the 2 stars. I will definitely not be returning or recommending this place to any friends. $6.99/lb is just way too much to pay for shriveled, tough, bland mudbugs. read more

Great staff, the food is always cooked perfectly, and it's BYOB! What more can you ask for... the perfect atmosphere.

I love LA Crawfish! My friends and I are die-hard crawfish fans so when one of them found this place we couldnt wait to try it! We were pleasantly surprised! I ordered crawfish pho and 1 lb of butter garlic crawfish. The pho is ok, notthing special about the soup and only had 1 crawfish in it. Crawfish had a good flavor, 50 cent extra because i asked for butter garlic sauce. Pretty good spot to get some snow crab legs and crawfish. Their hot is extremely hot!

I love LA Crawfish. The hot and sour crab legs were so good. The garlic butter crab legs were not good at all (neither were the Japanese ponzu oysters). Nevertheless, the place is BYOB.
