Gracie picked this place, and I already knew my wallet was about to get destroyed. Toast - 4.5/5 Very flavorful. It was kind of like soft garlic bread rather than something super crisp or hard. It didn't come with oil or anything, but honestly it didn't need it. Definitely eat it while it's hot. Crab Cakes - 4/5 Way less bready than I expected and very crab-heavy. Honestly, it didn't really feel like a traditional crab cake to me, but it still tasted good. The sauce and salad helped a lot too. Goat with Rice - 4/5 I usually do not like goat, but this was surprisingly good. The meat was tender and not dry at all. The beet, sauce, and goat worked really well together, although they gave a tiny amount of beet compared with how much goat you get. Fish - 4.5/5 The plantains were dry and the salad was pretty whatever, but the fish itself was cooked VERY well. It was juicy, not dry, and even the head was cooked properly instead of being neglected. The sauce on top was a little tangy but otherwise pretty forgettable. Still, the fish was one of the strongest things we ordered. Price - 1/5 SO expensive. Definitely not worth the price even though the food was pretty good. Food - 4/5 Above average overall, but there was nothing that made me feel like I absolutely needed to come back. Experience - 2/5 Something very funny happened at the entrance that offended Gracie and made me laugh, but I'll leave it at that. The service had this weird mix of trying to feel upscale while also being very casual. It was way too expensive for me to want to come back, but I also didn't have a bad time. The food showed promise in a few places, especially when it came to texture and presentation, but the overall experience was unfortunately affected by a major lack of communication from the service team. The appetizers arrived in a timely manner, but after that, the entrées took more than 25 minutes to arrive. The bigger issue was what followed: after being told there was no more food coming, we waited roughly another hour with no update before learning that dessert was still on the way. During that time, our drinks were cleared from the table as well. The restaurant was not particularly busy, so the lack of communication stood out even more. My Taysty Tayke: Get Down & Dirty, Expeditiously: Accra The standout of the meal for me. Crispy, snackable, and addictive, with a texture that reminded me of a crispy potato roll. I really enjoyed the topping and the slight spice. Le Coin Du Cabrit (Braise Goat) Tender and well seasoned, though a little saltier than I would have preferred. Grilled Shrimp Not bad, but it did not stand out compared with the stronger dishes from the meal. In Conclusion: There are dishes here worth trying, especially the Accra and the salmon wellington was good as well. However, service and communication are a major part of dining out, and the long wait with no updates significantly affected the experience. Finally a Haitian restaurant with a perfect ambiance for an inviting meal. To the chef, the plating was beautifully done. That bread on the table is love at first bite. Savory. We had the +chef kiss as our appetizer (the trio I forgot to take a picture of the grilled shrimp). It's the first time I had Accra which was an interesting flavor for me as I tried to figure out what was in it. On our table we had the goat, tender and delicious, the Salmon Wellington is a must for fish lovers, and finally a rib eye steak. Yes a steak. Done to perfection. The black rice was good could use a little more flavor because I have tasted it before. I had a few challenges with my waiter who slow and did not come back to check on the table and had to get the attention of other waiters to get his attention. The place was not crowded. I spoke to the owner about it and she was gracious and grateful. I am still giving this place a five because I fell in love with it. I was very disappointed by my recent experience with Eva Volmar at La Cachette du Coin restaurant during a repast. The issue was the undisclosed fees, inconsistent billing practices, and the way my concerns were handled by the owner. I was covering the bill for my table and asked if the individual checks could be consolidated into one bill so I could pay for everyone together. I was told that the register had already been closed and, for that reason, the checks could not be combined. While I accepted that explanation, I then noticed that a 20% service charge had been added to each individual check. In addition, I was charged for a duplicate Coke that was never ordered or received, as well as the cost of the soft drinks was inflated. The online menu reflects $4 but the restaurant charged me $5. What made the situation even more confusing was that the service charge was not applied consistently. One bill that included two drinks did not have the surcharge added, while individual drink purchases did. That inconsistency made it difficult to understand how or when the charge was being applied. When I politely asked why the service charge was being assessed and pointed out the duplicate charge, I was immediately met with a defensive and dismissive attitude. I was simply seeking clarification and asking that the bill be accurate. The owner stated that the service charge was posted on the menu. However, when I asked to see the menu, she refused to show it to me. As a result, I was unable to verify where or how the surcharge was disclosed. Customers should be able to review any posted policies that affect their bill, and service charges should be clearly communicated before they are applied. What disappointed me most was the interaction. Instead of calmly explaining the charge and correcting the duplicate item on my bill, the conversation became unnecessarily confrontational. Hospitality is about making guests feel respected, even when they have questions about their bill or point out a billing mistake. Businesses thrive because of the support of their community. This restaurant, like many small businesses, depends on local patrons and the people who help spread the word. Knowing that the restaurant has previously struggled to attract customers, and that members of the community have actively supported and promoted it, including well-known content creator Turk, whose recognition helped bring additional attention to the business. I expected a much more welcoming and hospitable experience for the very clientele that helped build its reputation. Instead, I left feeling dismissed and disrespected for simply asking questions about my bill. Customers deserve transparency, professionalism, accurate billing, and to be treated with courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. My interaction with the owner significantly changed my perception of the business. I hope the restaurant improves its communication about service fees, applies its policies consistently, pays closer attention to the accuracy of its billing, and adopts a more customer-focused approach so future patrons have a better experience. BTW, the owner ended the conversation by telling me to get out of her restaurant after I questioned her frivolous charges. read more

On a Friday night around 9:15 PM, I arrived to no one at the front. We went to the back, spoke to a staff member who said they closed at 10 but let us finish our order. We sat at the bar, and the night improved as we ordered drinks. A group behind us was also allowed to stay. The ambiance is beautiful and elegant, perfect for celebrations or hanging out at the bar. La Cachette du Coin honestly surprised me !!! If you're looking for really good Haitian food, and elevated Carribean food like - oxtail, curry goat, cod salt fish, plantains etc this is the place !!! They have a full bar also so cocktails and food and the owner is so sweet, so genuine. The meat is always fresh from the butcher each morning never frozen. Beautiful classy atmosphere a little old school decor but I feel like the best food, culturally accurate is usually in these old school restaurants!! Cannot recommend enough! read more

My family and I made a reservation for five people last Thursday (5/7/26) for Mother's Day dinner on Sunday (5/10/26) at 7:30 PM. We arrived on time for our reservation, but upon getting to the restaurant, a gentleman at the door rudely shut the door in our faces and told us to wait outside for 10 minutes. This immediately caught us off guard, considering we had a confirmed reservation and arrived on time. While waiting, we spoke with several other parties who shared that they had reservations as early as 5:30 PM and still had not been seated. Unfortunately, no staff member communicated with guests or provided updates about the situation. Eventually, a man in a navy blue jacket came out shouting at customers and informed everyone that the wait time was now between 2-4 hours, and that the earliest anyone could possibly be seated would be around 9 PM. At that point, we decided to leave rather than wait several additional hours. I was extremely disappointed and disgusted by the entire experience. It seemed clear that the restaurant had overbooked reservations and was unprepared to manage the large crowd, but what made the situation worse was how poorly and disrespectfully it was handled. The restaurant continuously markets itself as a luxury dining experience, but our experience was far from luxurious. The lack of organization, communication, and basic customer service was unacceptable. Highly disappointed! read more

Unbelievably badly managed. My wife and I ordered the black rice with vegetables entree; the waitress brought us two small bowls of black rice. We realized later she had brought us side portions, even though it was dinner and we'd pointed to to what we were ordering from the menu. She served it to us as if it was an entree, and we were very confused and disappointed. My son ordered fish, which was good, but it took 40 minutes for the food to come and another 50 minutes before we could get the bill (the place was not that crowded). We couldn't wait to leave by the end. I'd love to try the dish we had tried to order, but the service and organization were so bad we're never going back.
