La Belle Rosette is one of those places I would always pass when driving and it grabbed my attention every time - I had a yearning to check out this place but I was always in a hurry and wanted to save it for a meaningful day. I passed it once again and I ended up making a u-turn to finally see what it was all about and it holds just as much whimsy, nostalgia, and coziness as I had hoped. If you miss the days of a warm, nostalgic, classic coffee house - cozy environment and only welcoming vibes and nothing too boastful - this is for you. This shop reminds me so much of my beginning days as a barista when I was studying, and it's really hard to find a place like that that hits the target. Kind service, classic beverages, warm interior, amazing regulars. This is definitely the kind of place you will want to sit and stay a while, and maybe bring a friend or several. I've been coming here for years and it's always a pleasure grabbing a cup of coffee or a glass of wine here. For their coffee, I usually go for their special drinks, especially the coconut caramel dream. If sugar isn't your thing, they will also make them less sweeter. Parking may be difficult to find for first timers. I believe they have parking in the back. The staff was between par and good. I think they have a challenge with the clientele that come in. It was pretty loud inside when we sat and enjoyed our meals. We ordered a couple of delicious panini's. A couple of delicious coffee drinks. A couple of chips and a couple of cookies. They had a complimentary water station set up. The music inside was hard to hear with a variety of conversations competing. Overstimulating in my opinion, for that chill coffee shop vibe. I would enjoy returning for another visit. The prices seemed fair. There is potential to really improve the vibe of decor inside. Love love love this place. First of all, it is centrally located near the University of Denver, so if you are a DU student and haven't tried La Belle, what are you doing? All of the baristas and the owner are super nice and welcoming. There is plenty of space to do work, meet with a friend, or just hang out and sip some coffee. The coffee is to die for. A bit expensive, but worth it in my book. I haven't had a chance to try their wine yet, but I will soon, because it is pretty inexpensive and there is a nice variety. Overall, 10/10. read more

I love this place because of the variety in the menu, convenient location (besides parking) and sweet employees. It's a good place to sit for a chat or get coffee to take to coworkers. I went a week ago and got a cookie and when I opened the wrapper, it was missing a large chunk -- it looked like someone took a bite out of it before packing it up. Baked goods are already pricy so I was miffed. Unfortunately I'm rating even lower because the breakfast burrito I ordered yesterday had undercooked hash browns in it. Cute little cafe with a lot of fun drink options! I stopped by to do some work and grab some food. The shop itself can be a bit hard to find, it's facing the road with the parking lot on the street corner. It's just off the DU campus and a great place to study. Prices are very reasonable and I didn't mind spending $10 to get my latte and a wrap (contents were basically a miniature caprese salad, which I loved). The staff worked quick, but I got the impression that I was asking too many questions (first time in, wanted some recommendations), so I'll make sure to do more research before my next visit. They make a lot of their food in house, and during my visit the whole place smelled like cookies! I enjoyed my latte, nothing too special, but worth revisiting because the coffee flavor didn't taste "flat" or too light. I ordered a sugar free vanilla latte and my girlfriend ordered the House iced tea and they were both sweetened nicely and had good flavor. there is also plenty of seating room so it's a great place to get work done. one thing that I wasn't the biggest fan of was the parking situation. there isn't parking in the front of the building, just in the back in the alley and it is a really small/tight parking lot. but it's not bad enough to take away a star... so it's not the worst! A solid coffee option near DU! Met here with my lovely intern and was happy to discover another spot in the area to get my caffeine fix. La Belle Rosette is fairly small with a good number of tables to get your study/meeting on. The coffee shop got busier as we met, mostly with students, but it never felt crammed or like the line was too long. Their coffee menu is pretty typical--I ordered a Yerba Mate latte which was pretty good. They serve breakfast, paninis, dessert, and cheese boards/tapa if you're in the snacky mood, plus WINE! Some pretty decent wine (and Colorado beer) options here. Happy hour is pretty awesome--half off their entire evening menu (including paninis and desserts) from 4-7 pm Monday-Saturday. Damn! That's reason enough for me to come back. There's parking in the back alley--only a few spots, but the surrounding streets don't seem terribly busy. Might not go out of my way here for the coffee, but that HH deal is so killer that I'll be back soon! read more

This is a locally owned wine, coffee and light nibbles bistro. It's a block from the Newman Center so ideal to grab a glass of wine before a show. We were not the only ones with this idea so the place was packed when we came. The staff was practically running through the bistro serving people, washing glasses on the fly and taking orders. Another nice perk is they have happy hour even on Saturdays so we got 1/2 off our wine picks. We didn't do food this time but the dishes looked good that were passing by our table. read more

My bf and I came here specifically to try their cold brew nitro coffee. We mentioned it to someone behind the counter and the person immediately offered to let us try a sample. We turned it down since we wanted to try it whole, but that was a nice gesture of them. We got the 16 oz version and it came out to be ~$4. As soon it was served to us, we noticed the color gradient in the drink as the macro-sized bubbles slowly moved up the glass. There's a small frothy head on top. It was very pleasant to look at. After taking a few sips, we definitely noticed it's smoothness. But I could taste some acidity in it, which I don't like about iced black coffees. So props for its textual smoothness, but not so much for the overall coffee taste. We also noticed that the head held up until we got to the last few sips, which was nice. The overall place is very intimate. It's a bit dim inside. This place has clients from all age groups, so it's not your usual hipster-full cafe. It just felt a maybe a bit too quiet inside so I couldn't quite cozy up to the place since I prefer a bit of background noise, not music background. But that's good news for people who want to work inside there. They have many specialty drinks too on their wall menu that would have been interesting to try the next time we came to visit again.
