1st time here, came for the honeycomb lay out and my husband wanted to try the omurice. Food wise all was good. I had the ramen, my husband got the omurice combo. The tempura was alright - seemed more breading than shrimp, the sauce was good though Spicy Kyushu ramen had a good spice level and mixed well with the broth. The noodles were great. I visited Kyuramen yesterday and had a great time. I arrive at 6:30 right before the big crowds. It was a Wednesday so not super busy. You can sit in the honey comb seating (see attached pics), traditional seating or they have individual booths that are covered by curtains for privacy. They are so intimate, note (all of the initiate booths may not be available, unless it's the weekend, so call ahead and inquire. The food is excellent! I had fried Oysters and Chicken Ramen. Their dishes are served in a big bow with broth. It was different but delicious. I also ordered a Passion Fruit tea, which is delivered to my table by a robot. The large tea is $6.25 and they give you a plastic collectors cup. You can choose the amount of sugar you like in your tea from 25%-100%. I opted for 50%, which was still very sweet. The place is very clean, organized and well run. Meals run on avg.$16.99 on up. Appetizers are $5.99 up. My meal with tip was $40. This was a treat and a great overall for dinner. Absolutely awful experience. That's what I get for listening to the hype on social media. Kyuramen is a ramen chain originating from New York. This restaurant location itself has a beautiful aesthetic. The honeycomb seats are really neat and it has its own boba shop inside called Tbaar. That's it. That's the only good thing about this place. My fiancé and I arrived one hour before closing, it was busy and there was a line of people ahead of us waiting to be seated. All of a sudden when it was our turn no one acknowledged us. When we tried to get their attention they tried to play it off like we just came in and told us they are only doing to-go orders. We told them we were in line behind all the other people before us who got seated, if they were doing to-go orders they should have told us earlier. After listening to our case they said they would seat us but it would be a 15-20 min wait. We eventually got seated in a private booth with a curtain, which was nice - but everything just kept going downhill from there. Service was poor. Our server hardly greeted us and was so confused and made so many mistakes the entire time. We asked her if it was possible to remove chashu from the ramen and add another protein, even if it's an up charge. She said no. That's the first time I've ever heard of that at a ramen place. We decided to go for two omurices. It comes as a combo with a drink for $19, and you can choose between Demi-glaze sauce or curry sauce. We asked for one demi glaze omurice and one curry sauce omurice. She told us the curry sauce would be an extra $3. What on earth?? It didn't say that on the menu. But fine, whatever. For drinks we got the Thai iced tea and the Amazing Lemonade. We ordered the salt and pepper crispy corn as an appetizer. The waitress comes in with my Demi glaze omurice with a side of tonkatsu. I told her I didn't order tonkatsu, and she said "Oh", backed out, and then came back in without the tonkatsu. Then she just starts cutting into the omurice. If this place is going to be overhyped on social media for its aesthetic, shouldn't they let customers get ready to take a video of the whole thing? Then she comes in with the curry sauce in a ladle but no omurice. We wait for 20 minutes. Then our crispy corn comes in but she tells us it's chicken karaage. Finally, an employee named Gorge came to check in on us. Thank God for Gorge. We clarify with him and it turns out you can remove chashu and add a different protein for an upcharge after all! Even though we were told no. And it's not a $3 upcharge for curry omurice. He goes to check in on our second omurice and looks like our server made a mistake on that end too, but he fixes it. He comes in with the omurice and let's us do the cutting and we were able to take a video, which was nice. Unfortunately we didn't get another curry sauce - we used the congealed and cold curry sauce delivered 20 minutes earlier because at this point we were just done. The first bite was good but honestly, the omurice wasn't THAT good. I think the service just soured the entire experience. The omurice also had bits of meat in it - whether it was chicken or pork - I don't know. But it was off putting because I don't eat pork and no where on the menu did it say the fried rice was mixed with meat. The crispy corn was okay. The thai iced tea was okay. The Amazing Lemonade was nice and refreshing. As for the sauces for the omurice, I personally liked the curry sauce more just because it was savory. We are self declared fatasses, and neither of us finished our entrees or appetizer. There was so much left and we didn't want to pack it to-go either. That NEVER happens. Their call button was broken and it took maybe 15-20 min for us to get the check. Gorge was super nice and we honestly thought he was the manager, he was the best thing about this place - but unfortunately not even he could save this experience. We were met with a passive aggressive bye on our way out the door by the hosts despite there still being people dining inside the restaurant. I get maybe the previous server might be new or frazzled or there is a miscommunication or language barrier. But they weren't THAT busy, we've encountered language barriers at other restaurants before without issues, and to make so many blatant and frankly rude mistakes is just inexcusable. We thought this was a super fun spot, and we will definitely be back! We decided to drop in on a Friday night, and the crowded parking lot gave us a preview of what was in store when we went inside. There were a number of people waiting, so we took our spot in line and waited alongside them. We ended up waiting for about twenty minutes. There were, however, a number of people who were waiting specifically for the honeycomb seating (the cute booths in all the pictures). I think our wait was a little shorter because we were willing to sit at a regular table on the floor. Wait staff and robots worked together to make sure dishes were delivered quickly. We didn't have to spend time looking at the menu because we had checked out all the photos in advance. The Thai iced tea was delicious and photo worthy. Perhaps my favorite of the night was the agedashi tofu. Let me confess - agedashi tofu is just generally one of my favorite things. Kyuramen's was light, crispy on the outside, custardy and creamy on the inside with a light umami-loaded dipping sauce. *Chef's kiss! The pancake and takoyaki were both tasty, more filling appetizers. They kept us eating happily while waiting on our entrees. The ramen was excellent - in hindsight, I wish I had experimented a bit more with the spices and flavors that the restaurant makes available on each table. We ordered the garlic ramen, and I found myself wanting a little more spice. The noodles, pork, and vegetables were warm, cozy, delicious comfort food on a cold night. The star dish of the night was the omurice - a fun dish to look at and eat! Great textures and flavors. I visited Kyuramen for the first time today and had a very pleasant experience! We arrived for lunch and were told it would be a 25-minute wait (it was very busy, as it was a holiday). We realized there was a bubble tea shop inside the restaurant, so we ordered drinks while we waited for a table. There was only one employee working the tea bar, so there was a bit of a wait to order and get our drinks, but nothing absurd. We got the Brown Sugar Boba and Brown Sugar Matcha, both were very good!! We were called within the 25 minutes to be sat and ended up getting one of the elevated honeycomb seats -- such a fun and unique experience! We ordered the popcorn chicken as an appetizer, the classic omurice with Demi glace sauce to share, the Korean Kimchi Ramen and Spicy Kyushu Tonkotsu. The ramen was a disappointment tbh bc it also wasn't hot and they did not have minced garlic which is a unheard of and they only had oil garlic, which I find ridiculous for a restaurant that sells asian type food (get with the program). Now what I am pissed about, is the omelette bc for $23 for a half-assed omelette and frozen tonkatsu, that they probably bought at Hmart, was done done so poorly and not tasty or warm whats so ever. The tonkatsu was at least hot, but it was not good quality and felt frozen bc of the texture of it. Plus, when they brought out the omelette, the server brought it, and didn't even let us have time to take pictures and all bc she was rushing to just give us the food and not care about the presentation. The curry sauce was cold, egg was cold, and the rice was lacking in flavor and it was cold. They probably only know how to use the microwave and that is about it. Or at least try to use the microwave. This place is not worth the money and time and you will get a better experience else where. I order the Thai ice tea which was really good! I enjoyed it. For my main, I ordered the vegetable ramen. It was really good and filling. I had enough left over for dinner that night. Came here to celebrate a birthday and could not have been more happy. We had called ahead since we were a party of 13 on a Saturday night. It was really easy to do so and the hostess was super sweet and attentive. Since we were a lot we didn't want to be an issue but she was able to make sure we were fine and didn't have any issues! I really love the design and layout of this spot! It feels very inviting and the decor is five stars, but was not all that impressed with the food quality after two visits. Might be an issue with it still being new, so will revisit the spot in a few months and see if things improve. The noodles were nothing special and no where we good as Umado or Jinya just up the road. I got ramen with pork and shrimp, and those were good, but the broth and noodles were fairly bland. My wife got a beef rice burger and she said that was bland as well (the menu said it was teriyaki, and she said it didn't have a teriyaki taste at all, more like Mongolian beef from the grocery store frozen section). My daughter got a beef skewer, which was so tough that it was like jerky. The edamame, tonkatsu, fried gyoza, and sweet potato fries were good. They provide spice blends you can add, but I felt like I was dumping hot sauce all over a cheap steak to make it taste like something. Service wasn't great. My daughter wanted the fried gyoza with no sauce on top, and they gave us pan-fried gyoza. We sent that back and they gave us fried gyoza with sauce, so we just wiped that off rather than send it back again. My wife didn't get the drink included with her combo meal until we specifically asked for it. The tables have call buttons but more than once, after pressing ours, I saw all the servers chatting by the host station for several minutes before one of them came by. Purely food based review: Omurice with Tonkatsu - Only shown on side table menu but I would come back just for this! The Demi-glace sauce is so good, egg is so fluffy, there's beef in the rice too. Tonkatsu is a small portion but delicious. #1 Tonkatsu ramen - Pretty good! Broth is very savory and umami but not too heavy. Good portion of noodles and veggies. Wish the Cha Siu was a little bit more fatty. Thai Tea - Comes with the Omurice combo (or lemonade). Surprisingly good! Would recommend. Dragonfruit Milk Tea - One of the more unique drinks we saw. This place recently opened up last week and I've already been seeing it pop up quite a bit on my Instagram. Place looks very cute so I went with my boyfriend tonight. We were seated immediately in the corner spot of the bar, but as soon as we sat down there was an older lady who tried to get our order already. We barely picked up our menus to look at, so we asked for her to come back. She never came back. We waited 30 minutes and saw other people at the bar who came after us get their orders put in. I guess an assistant manager? (James) saw we were looking around displeased so he took our order. Had he not come when he did, we would have left the restaurant. I ordered the #1 Tokyo Tonkotsu Shouyu with black garlic while my boyfriend ordered the #6 Kyushu spicy tonkatsu ramen mild. I thought my ramen/broth were just ok. Everything else in my bowl was delicious! My boyfriend liked his ramen as well as appreciated there was a mild spicy level he could order. The manager, Coco, came afterwards and asked us our experience. I told her what had happened and she apologized/let us try some teas from the connected tea shop in the building. I very much appreciate that someone noticed our bad service and let management know; otherwise this 4 star review could have been a 2 star review instead. I do understand it is busy/might have been understaffed (what place isn't nowadays)/pretty much just opened so they are working out their kinks. I ordered the following: Pork bao (huge piece of meat, somehow reminded me of "thit kho" if you are Vietnamese lol) Takoyaki (ok) Tonkatsu ramen w white garlic - the broth is a little bland compared to other places I have tried. I had seen a lot of hype about this place and finally decided to try for myself. The first two times we came they had a long wait so we decided to came right as they open for business. Service is very friendly and I was able to get booth (the honeycomb thing?) seating with a 20 ish minute wait. All good here is very tasty. Their ramen broth is well made and rich in flavor, and the ramen itself has a nice springy texture. Food was served VERY fast once we were seated, surprisingly. The shrimp tempura is perfectly cooked and the sauce is SO good. I would skip out on the crispy salt and pepper corn - not crispy at all, but tastes alright (tastes like corn in popcorn chicken form). Drinks (Tbaar) are refreshing but FAR too sweet, and I got my fruit tea at 50% sugar. Overall a beautiful and fun spot for lunch/dinner - i especially enjoyed the view & bonus points for their broth condiments on the side, the sauerkraut and chili powder are to die for! For the price and wait time, however, this spot is definitely not worth the hype :( I do think the food is very good though. read more

Found out about Kyuramen about a week ago while scrolling through social media. I told my girlfriend about it and we made it our next date night spot. What really caught our attention was the atmosphere. The layout is outstanding and that's what drew us in. After being seated almost immediately after we walked in, the server came directly to our table. They even had a robot bring us drinks! Both my girlfriend and I got the brown sugar milk tea. It was so sweet and creamy! The flavor was strong but subtle all at the same time. I should have ordered another one. I also got the AMAZING lemonade. It had cucumber in it and that eased the tart from the lemons and left you with a refreshing taste. The lemonade just might have been AMAZING. For our appetizers we got the pan-fried gyoza, the shrimp tempura, and the boa buns. The gyoza was good but did not seem "fried", which I actually liked. Usually when I have gyoza it can be really oily and this gyoza was a pleasant change. I would definitely get it again. The shrimp tempura was outstanding also, fried to perfection. The boa buns were good too! Full of pork belly and we both were blown away from just the appetizers! I was definitely excited for our entrees. My girlfriend got the #2. Kyushu Tonkotsu Shio Ramen. She stated that the ramen broth was not as fresh as other Ramen places she has visited but was good nun the less. They gave her a lot of meat and she was very satisfied. I got the K6. The soft shell Crab rice burger. Honestly I was ok. I didn't like that the crab was not seasoned but it seemed to be masked with a heavy amount of yum-yum sauce. But I will also say that it was again a really good size crab. I loved the amount of meat they give out. The meal also cam with fried corn. I was really good! The corn had some heat to it. So, you know us, we love trying new restaurants as they pop up in the OTP area. Immediately made it a mission to come check this out, and we did this past Saturday night. Wait wasn't terrible for 3 people, so we got seated within 15 minutes. As we came in, we immediately got attended, we sat and enjoyed the environment, they did an amazing job with decorating and the total vibe of the place, make it feel upscale and modern, so I was all for it. Once seated, we proceeded to place our orders: - Mega Ramen, Served with, Pork Chashu, Shrimp, Bamboo Shoot, Wakame, Half Marinated Egg, Nori, Corn, Scallion -Tonkatsu curry Ramen, which was an experience for me, never had broth that heavy before, and a bed of delicious Tonkatsu on top, it was an experience -Classic Omurice, which, might be the first "Japanese Style" I've had, where they actually do the presentation and such. I've had some other Omurices in the area, all were good. Presentation gives it a notch, due to waiter/ess comes and cuts it for you and then adds the sauce and sprinkles it with a seasoning of sorts. Overall, its a good place for the area. It has some delicious offerings and pricing is not terrible. One thing to note: the combo offerings are a must as they are reasonably priced ($6.95 for Thai Tea + Pork Bao, good value) as individually, the Thai tea alone would be close to $5 anywhere else. Where do I start!? Not only was the food amazingly delicious, all of the staff was super nice and attentive! The Thai tea is my absolute favorite, a high recommendation if you ever decide to visit, which you really should! The ambiance was also very nice and calm. The honeycomb sitting definitely makes this place stand out but once you taste the food it'll make your experience much better! If you like a very tasty broth with a little bit of spice, you'll enjoy the Korean kimchi ramen!! Awesome ambiance- lots of cool seating sections. We came as a group of 7 and were given a private room. The kids also loved getting boba delivered by robot. Lots of variety of ramen choices- I love the twin option where I can get two different styles! Everyone enjoyed their ramen. The kids also enjoyed their gyoza, which came in a neat pinwheel style. A little pricier than other restaurants in the area, but coming from California, the prices seemed normal to us. This restaurant was set up very cute. They have one side of the restaurant full of honeycomb dining stations. The bottom HoneyKomb can fit about four people and the top honeycomb can fit only two per table. I wish they had more, I think they would do better, because everybody likes to sit in the honeycomb. We separated our group so the younger girls can sit there, while the rest of us sat in the open dining area. We tried almost every flavor of ramen broth. My favorite is the Ramen #2. Kyushu Tonkotsu Shio. You have the option you can add the black garlic too, which is definitely well worth it! I think it gives it a boost of flavor. The last time we were there it wasn't the best experience probably because they were so busy the service was not the best. But this time was different, they were not that busy because it was late in the evening, so the service was great, with no issues. The place is really cool and has a cool vibe. It was pretty empty and took a while for my girlfriend to get her food. I was basically finished by the time she got her food. I love ramen, obviously I'm not a native nor did I grow up eating home made, but I ordered the combo tonkatsu and wasn't impressed. The broth had a strong flavor of fish which was just odd as I didn't see anything saying it would have fish. The pork bun sandwich was good. My girlfriend ordered the chicken sandwich and even that had a flavor of fish to it? Like nothing is "bad" but everything just had a fish flavor, but didn't say anything about it. A bit off putting tbh. A bummer because I was dying to eat some good ramen. EDIT: originally I gave it 2 stars for what I mentioned already, but now being at home, me and my girlfriend have massive stomach aches. Something was not right with the food. read more
