I wanted to start the new year with a new spot. Last week I tried Kyuramen in Suwanee (3rd try) and made it right as they opened the day!! This spot is HOT right now so if you plan to go be smart about your timing. Parking can be a bit of a pain as well, it's a tight lot. I came here with one thing in mind and one thing only... their PORK TONKATSU OMURICE with a demi glace sauce. Omurice is basically an omelet with rice but with a Japanese flair to it. The Omurice along with the pork tonkatsu and demi glace felt like a perfect balance!! If you are southern and love your food covered in GRAVY, then this is a must for you (way better than southern gravy) Their BAO BUN with STEAMED PORK is the perfect starter... the sauce it came with was very tasty and the bun was fluffy. Their PAN FRIED GYOZA DUMPLINGS had my attention because of how they are served, very pretty looking. The gyoza coupled with their sauce for dipping was very satisfying. They have this lemonade called THE AMAZING LEMONADE, which I agree with. I never thought I'd enjoy a lemonade that had cucumber but trust me... it's perfect. Their Taro tea is also no slouch, if you're into the TEA game. Kyuramen opened in November and had a slow start, but something changed early December where now they seem to be busy non stop. Their HONEYCOMB tables are extremely popular so maybe that's making this spot pop up when people are looking for food? The staff here are the sweetest individuals you will ever meet! The food is delicious and getting to sit in a top booth overlooking the restaurant is always nice! Very cute and unique place! I loved the honeycomb seating and the waiters/waitresses were very nice. They have a variety of ramens and teas. I got their combo which included a pork bao, tonkatsu ramen, Thai tea, and a green tea pudding dessert. I thought the pork bao was really soft and flavorful and I really liked the Thai Tea. The ramen was okay. I'd rate it 3 out of 5. I thought the chashu was a bit dry and the broth was not as flavorful as other places I've tried. The green tea pudding was...interesting? They give you a little bit of milk on the side. It definitely had a green tea flavor to it but I didn't love the texture. I was expecting it to be more soft like flan almost but it was a bit hard. They have sauces/seasonings on the side for your ramen or appetizer. Overall cute place and I'd definitely go back to try other items on the menu. read more

This is probably now my favorite spot for Japanese ramen! Our group of 4 stopped by during the first week they opened. We got there ~6 and waited more than 30 minutes. Once we got seated, the food was served quickly. We got the Tonkotsu Shio ramen, tonkotsu shoyu, spicy tonkotsu and tonkotsu omurice. Everything was delicious. The broth was flavored just right and not oily. The half boiled egg was cooked perfectly and served warm which I like. Their fried oysters and pork chateau are also juicy with the perfect crispy shell. Loved how they serve the omurice. My only complaint is that they require you to purchase a set and in my opinion it's not worth the price. But still would try the omurice! Overall, their food is amazing! If you're looking to try the infamous Japanese omurice, I would definitely recommend checking this place out! The inside is pretty spacious and the honeycomb seating area was very cute. I went on their opening weekend and got their ramen supreme combo and tonkatsu omurice combo which both came with a team (lemonade or Thai tea). The lemonade kind of tasted like sweet pickle juice but if you're into that, you'll love it. My favorite item out of everything I ordered is the pork bao that came with the ramen combo. It was delicious and came out very quickly. The ramen I would say its good but nothing too special. The omurice is fluffy and the curry sauce paired with it perfectly. The ramen combo came with a matcha dessert at the end but honestly it was underwhelming. The tonkatsu was also average as well. Overall, It's definitely a cute place to check out but some items are average and service is also just okay. read more

One word, AMAZING!! This has been on my list for the longest time and I am glad I made the drive to come here. The interior is well decorated and is very clean. Went here for a birthday dinner. I generally prefer more authentic/traditional offerings. This place seemed more a fusion and a mix of modern/traditional concept. The honeycomb wall was really cool looking though, and the robot server/helper thing was neat. We had a (iirc) seven person party and we accommodated into a side semi-private booth which was pretty nice. The food was pretty decent, but I'm not sure I'd do it again given the prices. The wife had a bowl of ramen (iirc somewhere around $15-18), and $23 for omurice combo. IMO, expensive selections for ramen and omurice. Came here for dinner with a coworker after a long and exhausting day at work. Kyuramen didn't disappoint! There's free public parking available in the plaza that the restaurant is located in. When you walk in, you'll see the boba shop in the same receiving area, but the coolest part of the restaurant is the big tree in the middle and the honeycomb seating against the wall. We decided to sit at the bar (immediate vs a 20 min wait) and we're attended to almost immediately. We were able to get a cool view of the kitchen and all the food being prepared! We started off with the chicken karaage and it was absolutely bussin. For entrees, I ordered the Pork Tonkotsu Omurice special and my coworker ordered a bowl of ramen. To drink, we ordered Thai Teas. I was so impressed by the omnurice in the Kyuramen location in Sandy Springs and decided to find another location closer to my place. Found this place and decided to give it a try- a totally disappointed experience. I ordered the same set of lunch, tonkatsu curry omnurice with Thai tea. The tonkatsu and curry sauce were seriously under seasoned. The food was barely hot. The layout is almost identical to all other location. The server was attentive . Was scrolling on Instagram and this video popped up like an advertisement or something. I was like this looks cool. I showed my wife she asked where it was located I looked it up and it said GA! Went to a table, sat down in this private little section which I enjoyed too. Ordered food. Waitress brought my drink and a robot R2D2 Kitty rolled over to us and brought my wife's drink. The waters tasted a little off. Not sure why. The teas we got were good covered up the water taste I guess. We ordered #1 no spice cuz I hate spicy food. I love tasting food not having it fired up and spicy covering the taste making my nose run and all so I turn spicy stuff down. There can only be one type of spicy and that's me, lmao. Anyways Food tasted good I had to ask for some soy sauce to put in the ramen soup for mine. Wife ordered a spicy ramen bowl soup dish. I noticed these little spice containers with spoons on the table. I don't know how often they clean them. But I think they should bring out small portions of spices to people that want it, not have it out like this cuz some people are dirty nasty and inconsiderate. Who knows who coughed sneezed or had dirty fingers without washing their hands and touching that spice spoon. Just my opinion and advise to owner to take that off the table and if somebody wants more spices to ask server to bring out small portions to guests. Also the bathroom handle in men's room. I didn't want to touch to open and go back to the table and eat. Owner should put a foot opener or arm opener or something so guest can have clean hands and not touch that dirty door handle before going back out to eat. Some guys are nasty dirty buttheads and pee or poo without washing hands after and walk out. I've seen it multiple times those inconsiderate slobs. I will say food was really tasty and good, but wife and I, both of us had the runs when we got back to our Airb&b. Right when we got in, had to run quickly to the restroom. we wanted to try this place out in the area. I would like to say that the service and the decorations are definitely five stars. It's got a great vibe and a great ambience. They've got these cute little honeycomb pods that you can sit in which are really nice. It's a very fun and neat experience. And great to bring with your family. They also have a cute robot that serves you. We did enjoy the purple, sweet potato fries. The dumplings were average And the Thai sweet tea was good. The Ramen and the chicken sandwich. We're both average to me. I got the chicken sandwich with no extras and no sides. They have "rice patty burgers" Unfortunately, the rice, Patty bun broke apart, pretty immediately, which is an unexpected, but it's also not fun to eat a sandwich that way. They do provide you with gloves because it gets messy, which is a nice touch. I also wasn't a huge fan at the chicken sandwich. I would say the overall food is average the drinks are pretty good. If you're gonna go here, simply to get bubble tea, or Thai tea, or any kind of drink, non-alcoholic, then it would definitely be 4-5 stars, but in my opinion, the food is pretty average. Again, the service is great and the presentation is very nice but I wasn't a fan if my chicken sandwich in the Ramen was just OK and for that, I would give them three stars. read more

This place is aesthetically cool! There was a hexagon seating in the back that my friend and I got lucky to sit in. My friend ordered the omurice and I ordered a pork ramen bowl. The omurice was an 8/10, it was creamy and the sauce was tasty. The ramen could be better. It didn't really have a rich taste to it and the meat was a bit chewy, so overall it was a 7/10 for me. Walking into this restaurant the first thing you see is the honeycomb wall with a booth in each comb. Lots of tables, huge bar to sit at, as well as private booths. The entire restaurant and bathrooms were spotless. There's a robot who acts like a cat that brings the drinks to the tables, it even meows when it's done speaking. The staff were so pleasant and eager to assist. There is a service button at each table and the staff quicklyresponds. The food was delicious and hot. I got the pork Ramen and my date got the seafood combo. Forgot to take the picture of the seafood, but it was served on a tray inside honeycomb bowls. Came because we saw videos of the place on insta. First impersonation was that the place was small. We put our names on the waitlist while the hostess said it would be a 25-30 minute wait. They don't call you by phone #, just your name, okay cool. We waited over an hour, food was mid. Broth tasted like it was mainly seasoning powder rather than anything else. Ramen was extremely greasy, noodles were similar to overcooked instant ramen. I would recommend Jinya or Kumai over this place. read more

This place seems to be a hit or miss based on my experience and from reading others. They've really did a nice job in the aesthetics of this place though and makes it so inviting. I really like that they have a boba shop connected to their restaurant. So I went for an early dinner knowing they are probably going to get really busy come dinner time. The biggest thing is their ramen and the omurice. Only thing is that the omurice will take at least about 30 mins (according to the waitress). So we opted only for ramen. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen. They have some powdered spices at the table that you can add as well if you want. The ramen came out relatively fast. I was disappointed in the ramen. The soup flavoring was not the tonkatsu flavor I know and the noodles could've been cooked better. The corn made the ramen too sweet for me as well. Afterwards, you can order boba from your table. Which honestly is probably why the wait for a table is so long. Once you get your boba, it's not like you want to leave right away. You want to chat and enjoy your dessert. When I went, they were out of a lot of the flavors because they were still waiting on shipments to arrive. I ended up ordering coconut smoothie. Which tasted like melona ice cream coconut flavor, if you've tried that before. Overall, I don't think I could come back for all the different variables to not be consistent. read more

Wow just wow! I ordered from these restaurant because I was kind of bummed that my usual Ramen place was closed today (Wednesday) so I decided to give this place a try. Definitely impressed not only was the delivery smooth but the presentation was great. I ordered the steamed pork Bao bun (yum) it was flavorful and just amazing. The Tokyo Tonkotsu Shouyu Ramen, so savory !!! the pork was just tender and so flavorful. The seaweed, the corn, the bamboo, the egg, the noodles the broth I cannot say more good things about this Ramen. Lastly was the Japanese cherry blossom jelly, it was so cute. Definitely sweet bad not bad, the large yells is refreshing and the little ones are just burst of sweetness and flavor. Overall I loved my order. Everything was absolutely delicious. Remember the Greek restaurant that was on the corner of Lawrenceville-Suwanee and Satellite Blvd? Well it is now home of the popular ramen chain known as Kyuramen! And this is worth every dollar you spend there. Let's talk atmosphere! This place is probably one of the most creatively laid out eating spaces I've seen in a long time! The main dining area is spacious with the ability to fit about 9 different parties of 4. They have maybe 3 different private areas for larger parties but the creme de la creme of this place is a multi-level area that is honeycombed off. There are about nine different honeycomb "rooms" where you can sit roughly 2-4 people in each honeycomb which is just an architectural delight to see while you're eating your ramen. Let's talk service... I will say that the service is not as great as I would have liked it to be. Granted I didn't need much since it was myself but a couple of check ups would have been nice to experience as well as a pass to see if I needed more water. It took a lot long to get my check as well so that was a bit of a nuisance but nothing to rant about. Let's talk FOOD!!! The typical ramen that everyone goes for is the tonkatsu ramen. It's literally quintessential so I knew I had to try it before anything else as a gauge to see if it's good. The #1 Tokyo Tonkatsu Ramen is indeed a staple and they do it right here. I do wish the broth was a bit richer in flavor and not as light as I experienced but it could've been a new batch or something because it wasn't as rich as I know tonkatsu broth could be. But the flavor is there. Maybe cut down on the MSG a bit since post consumption I have that MSG bite that it's known for when you use too much. But there is definitely a deep porky broth there. The soft boiled egg is cooked to dang near perfection as the yolk was creamy without spilling into the ramen. The noodles were chewy and held onto the broth pretty nicely. I opted for the black garlic version which was a dollar more but you definitely taste the richness of the black garlic that's adds to the broth. I also did sprinkle some togarashii seasoning into it to see if it did anything but it didn't. Then I added a touch of the cayenne pepper and that actually did kick the ramen up a notch. The pepper burn kicked on at the back of the pallette which was a great feeling so I'll be adding that next time I go. Overall experience, it was a good one to be sure!!! A fantastic place to sit and eat some pretty good ramen. It is a bit on the pricey side to be sure between the $16-$17 plus tax and tip taking you to about a good $20 lunch or dinner so this place should be reserved for more dinner than a lunch.
