The noodles to my surprise had a nice chew. I'm not sure if these were freshly made noodles, but it had that chew consistency. The only thing I wish they had more of was the chicken. There was a healthy amount but not abundant. Though the hubs did point out that there wasn't a lot of toppings, I beg to differ. The corn, bamboo, and other tidbits of stuff were enough for me. He only thought there could have been more of each serving. Even half of the egg seemed rather reasonable with the egg prices skyrocketing nowadays. Though Kumai Ramen is in the food court of Jusgo Supermarket, the quality wasn't lacking.

And as expected, it was alright. We ate it, but it wasn't anything to write home about. It's only getting a Yelp review bc I liked their apps. The appetizers I've had were much better than the ramen, even outside of this one instance with their promotional ramen. If I wanted ramen, it wouldn't be here, but for a quick bite or many small plates... maybe. The eggplant and brussels sprouts were probably my favorite of what I had, and it's all due to the miso soy marinade. It masked some bitterness with sweetness. The broth is a thick gravy that is meaty and dashi-rich at the same time. Not too salty, although slightly bitter at times. What really stands out at Okiboru is their thick and toothsome tsukemen noodles. The texture of these noodles alone keeps me returning. QR code menu and friendly service. Bar style atmosphere at this location. So nice to have an authentic tsukemen shop at the mall. I like to stop by before seeing a movie.
