Smaller Jinya, but what you can expect from any of their locations. Service is efficient (though not as friendly as I expected). Food is delicious and consistent. I love getting the kids meal. You get fries, fried chicken, ramen, oranges, salad, rice and meat, and a sucker and ice cream!!! All for around $12. It's great to split between 2 kids.

I tried the spicy creamy vegan ramen and karaage (Japanese style fried chicken). Both were delicious and I'd give them 4.5 stars - the only reason why I rounded down instead of up is because both dishes were on the salty side.

Well with such good reviews we decided to give this place a try - everything was tasting great until I took a bite of the side salad and about gagged all my food out as I had a mouthful of long blond hair we told out waitress but the manager was too busy to address it, so even though the food was good - if you like it "hair free" guess to somewhere else!

We ordered takeout from here as we usually do once in a blue moon. Service is quick and food is so hot that by the time we get the food and drive 15-20 minutes back to our house, the food is still just the right heat temperature-wise to eat. This time I tried the Birria special, while my husband had his usual Tonkatsu Red. The specials are a good change to mix things up a bit, but we still love Tonkatsu Red the most.

First timer here! Jinya did not disappoint. I had the spicy chicken ramen; my husband enjoyed his salmon poke bowl and wonton chicken ramen. The kids meal was alot of food. However the kids ramen has absolutely zero flavor in the broth. My son used my spicy chicken broth to flavor his food. I had the passion fruit lemonade, very refreshing. Food was a bit pricey. Overall, I would definitely come back.

I first tried this spot for date night last year with my husband and instantly fell in love. This time I came back by myself and had the Spicy chicken ramen and it was delicious. I love the spinach and bean sprouts that are in the ramen. The server was nice and attentive, and I enjoyed the good service.

First time visiting this awesome Ramen bar in the Exchange and boy was I surprised at how good it was. Great food, good service and fair prices. The pork bun was off the chain goodness and I am already looking forward to my next one.

Spicy Tuna Tacos were straight fire crispy and bold. The Buffalo Cauliflower came in like a sleeper hit... no right being that good. Perfect crunch, perfect heat. 100% worth the cheat meal. Service was great along with fun vibing atmosphere!

The food was good, I would have given it 5 stars but I needed more flavor, Edison was really nice and the place was very clean

TAKE OUT EXPERIENCE here on a Friday night. 2 people, just me & my husband. $72 plus tip. A little pricey, but hang with me. We live about 10 minutes from The Exchange at Buford. Absolutely beautiful & so many fun restaurants to choose from. Careful driving, it's an interesting lot to navigate & lots of folks to not hit!! Attempted twice to place online order, but shut down twice. I called & the associate said it's been an issue for 2 days. She took my order on the phone & was super sweet about it. Jinya Ramin Bar is in the back, sort of middle of the compound. Nice place, casual & trendy! No problem picking up- easy & friendly! Got home & taken back by the TINY sizes, but.... Don't let the size fool ya. Inside is the most amazing flavor & it all works. Salmon & Shrimp Tacos we filled ourselves & they packed nicely- GREAT flavor. Maybe a great appetizer, NOT meal size!! Tuna on crispy rice- delicious! Appetizer size or that can be a side to another sm poke bowl. I got the large Poke Bowl- SO GOOD & way more food than I expected- a do over! Hubby LOVED his ramen & we will come back, AS A TREAT. See pics & notice the TINY to-go containers, lol! Again, $72 & tip. 2 people with takeout.

I'm going to go ahead and slide Jinya into the "frequent repeat" category. I'll admit this isn't my first trip to Jinya. I wanted to hold off until trying a few additional dishes over a few visits. Jinya has won over this Japanese food lover! Sure it's officially a ramen bar, and there are so many to choose from. There are even gluten free, and even impossible meat options. But don't sleep on the "others"! The menu is absolutely jam packed with classic favorites and new creative items alike. Salads, Mini tacos, Pork buns, rice bowls, and even kids meals. The Tonkotsu black is a crowd favorite, and for good reason. Chashu, Green onion, dried seaweed, seasoned egg, garlic chips, garlic oil, fried onion, and a spice sauce. Did I forget anything? A beautiful marriage of textures and flavor. I def think the broth would be even better if spicier, but the chashu and noodles are the star here. The chashu basically melts in your mouth, while the choice to go with a thinner noodle doesn't overwhelm the bowl and allows others to shine. Can we direct our attention to the Brussels sprouts tempura?! Brussels sprouts encased in a light and crispy tempura batter, drizzle with a touch of truffle oil. I can't seem to find the words to describe how magical this is. I wanted so bad to scarf this entire bowl down, but knowing how much my wife enjoys sprouts, I had to show restraint. Probably the hardest thing I've ever had to do in the name of love lol. I certainly did not come here for a vegetable based appetizer, but bar none, the best vegetable dish I've probably ever had!! In an area that is densely populated with an insane amount of Asian options, Jinya is a must. Great modern space, friendly staff, great energy, and even greater food. It hits the spot every...single...time...

The tables are way too close to one another (I felt like I was in Paris). It feels cramped, with no conversation privacy because you are touching your neighbors. The restaurant was dark, and the menu was small, making reading it impossible. Service & food was good, but I prefer the Alpharetta location. The bathrooms needed to be cleaned and I'm unsure who designed it with the toilet paper so low to the ground. I wanted to love this location since it's close to our house, but I'm not everyone in my conversation.

Sadly I must give this place a 3 star rating, despite its other good reviews. From the get-go, the music was really loud and the atmosphere inside did not feel like a Japanese ramen spot, more like a bar with food. It was really chaotic when I was eating and really dim inside too, I could barely read the menu. The ramen itself was okay, the flavor of the soup was fine but I wasn't particularly impressed by anything. The noodles felt slightly undercooked and they only gave two small pieces of pork in the ramen. It was at a good price point for all that it came with without any additions, but it didn't have much personality. Just a heavy, slightly salty ramen. Service was fine, but also not particularly impressive. Everyone seemed busy and like they didn't have time for anybody.

When will this location finally open?

I would like to say I planned the perfect date, but as some of the best things in life, this was just an impromptu visit to cap off an already great evening. Outside of being on the rooftop, the bar itself is upscale yet approachable, service was fast and friendly. Being a bit of a self engrandized home bartender I'm a bit critical when out of my home lab, but their Smoked Old Fashioned wasn't bad. ("Wasn't bad" really means very good.") While I don't love the prices and hate paying a cover charge, when you throw in live music, a great vibe, and a view, I can't really complain. The owner made an announcement that whoever tipped the band $10 would get a free drink, and since most drinks were over $15 I thought that was cool on many levels. Will definitely be back to The Rooftop!

We walked around and finally ran into a waitress who told us to sit anywhere we wished inside or outside. The only area festive was inside a closed igloo and no heaters were on outdoors which was just a tad too cool for me despite the super nice weather that day. It would have been so to sit outside but without the warmth of the heaters we headed inside. We placed our order and explained we were just there for a pre-dinner drink and wanted to check out the venue so we didn't leave our tab open but we were quickly served the fabulous taking drinks on their menu(s). The Old Fashioned was on the regular menu and the Russian was on their seasonal tabletop menu. Server was very nice and took photos for some ladies we met. The only reason I can't give them a 5 star is they claim they are big on hospitality but yet we were not acknowledged upon arrival. Many restaurants and even some retail stores have a way to ensure they say hello/welcome immediately when you enter and without a hostess - the mindset should be that the bar or wait staff have a way to immediately say hello or welcome so those who have never been feel welcomed as well as those who frequently come. It would be nice to have a more festive decor for the holidays but that didn't affect my review; just a statement to say that the entire Sugar Hill area was pumping and themed with the holiday spirit then we walked in the only area decorated was not even accessible nor was it offered as an option to enjoy.

The manager (or, I'm assuming he was a manager, because he never said he was or was not) named Chef was the person I spoke to about being hired. He told me to come back for a shadowing session on Monday to see if I was a good fit. He told me to text him to confirm the date the weekend before, and when I texted him on Saturday, as we had talked about, I received no response. I texted him again several times on Sunday, and got nothing back until late that evening, less than 24 hours from the shift we had talked about, asking if we could do it Tuesday instead. I agreed and returned the following day. Right off the bat, it was weird; he never took down any information from me aside from my name and phone number, and showed me how to clock in and then told me to go right to the woman at the bar to look over the menu. He didn't tell me anything about pay, hours, a resume, experience, tasks, or even offer me a tour of the place, which I thought was odd. For reference, my boyfriend and I have both had a lot of experience managing and owning businesses, so we understand the process, and he backed me up on this when I brought it up to him. About 30 minutes into my shift, they ended up mentioning that their host never showed up, and I told them that I had experience and if they gave me a quick training talk, I'd learn it quickly. They put me up front, but didn't give me any instructions or check in with me the entire time, while I sat up there. About halfway through my shift, the woman at the bar called me back and asked me to go to Walmart and pick up some ingredients for them with some cash she offered me. I thought it was a bit strange, especially since they didn't have any information on me yet, but I agreed. I returned and continued my shift, and still nobody checked in with me the entire four hours. Well, eventually 10 o'clock rolled around (the time we'd agreed I would stop), and yet nobody showed any signs of coming up to tap me out. And then 10:30 came, and I ended up walking up to Chef, and a gentleman I assumed was another manager, and later realized may have actually been the owner, and he was at the bar smoking a hookah and drinking while still on shift. I asked him if they were trying to get me to stay till 11 or something, or if I misunderstood the time, but before I could tell him that I needed to leave soon because I'm also a full-time medical student, he ended up telling me that I could stay, like he thought I was asking. I thought I maybe could've phrased it better, so I ended up biting my tongue and went back up to the front for another 30+ minutes. While I was on shift, I noticed many more red flags that made me uncomfortable. For example, many of the on-clock staff were at the bar drinking and smoking the whole time with the owner. At some point during the jazz band, one of the employees ordered at least two mixed drinks and sat down with all the customers to watch, and apparently got wasted from what I heard. They also told us that we aren't allowed to say no if somebody orders us a shot because it's rude, even if it made us uncomfortable. (I looked it up with my boyfriend later, and we both confirmed that working while under the influence is against federal law.) They also said that servers would need to carry your own cash around because they didn't carry cash in the register, which means that the waiters have to break their own bills and bring in at least $50 worth of cash in order to start their shift, and risk losing out on money if we can't break a bill or something. My shift finally ended at 11:20, another 20 minutes after our agreed time, only because I basically told them that I was leaving instead of asking. And that whole time, no one once said anything to me about hosting, when they wanted me to return, pay, or anything. After I left around 11:30, I heard nothing back from Chef until two days later, after he completely ignored me until then, when he asked if I could come back in an hour after he messaged me. I told him I would not be returning because of how uncomfortable and inattentive it felt, and I asked about pay, since I had worked about a 5-hour shift for free thus far, and he never replied. I didn't push because, honestly, I just wanted to walk away from what had happened from how sketchy it was, even when I was encouraged not to. For bonus, the backroom was really gross. The whole area smelled like the dishpit hadn't been cleaned in days, and the towel room was basically just cloth thrown about. I've worked in a lot of restaurants, and this was by far the most unclean and untidy one I'd seen. I won't be going back, and honestly just want to leave this behind me, and warn anyone who may apply there in the future.

The UWT salad was just ok, the Buffalo Chicken Flatbread was almost uneditable, the Korean Shortribs were not any better. The flatbread was swimming in buffalo sauce and blue cheese. The Korean Short Ribs were literally pot roast with sesame seeds and green onions served a top a serving of dry potatoes. We enjoyed the ambience and the wine but would not go back due to the food. Very chill lounge with an intimate feel. I went on a Friday night and there were few patrons. The…read morebar tender made the drinks and hookah, and both were pretty good. They have a few TVs for viewing and had a live belly dancer briefly perform. They didn't have a DJ. It seems like they were playing music from a music playlist, which was a mix of RnB and Hip Hop. Their menu has food, drink, and hookah options. They had nothing on the menu except for Suya; so, we didn't have food. The drinks were pretty good and reasonably priced, given that they were served in plastic cups. The hookah was pretty good and lasted awhile. Of note, the bartender couldn't take cash because she didn't have enough change in the register to return; the only option was card payment.

The sign would advise they open at 5, but doors wouldn't open until nearly an hour later. They would frequently do grocery runs to Walmart then charge you the same amount for items such as wings that were clearly different and finally arrived right before they close the lounge. So you literally had to box them, then pay your bill to close..... With that said, The recent visit I made last week was MUCH better. Decor of this locale is real loungy and sleek. Nice ambiance for a Gwinnett experience...The staff is very pleasant, and the Siracha wings are amazing!!! Presentation was so simple but nice... My friend got another chicken dish, that kinda looked like a Cordon Bleu, and that was quite tasty as well. Drinks are fair, (tiny portions with ice), and the music is good. Mix of African/Reggae/HipHop. In all, I recommend this place if the consistency stays like this....but I had to be honest about my previous experiences.

My waitress I believe her name is Penelope was phenomenal and she recommended the snapper with jollof rice. It was my first time trying it. And I was not ashamed to clean my plate I wish I knew they did not accept cash because that was embarrassing And I wish I saved room for desert Also the tip is included with the check which is fine by me she earned it! The ambiance at sunset and the chill professional crowd will have me coming back again! 10/10 Highly Recommend

The char of the chicken and the fruit added to the well dressed salad tasted great. Portions are small but the healthy veggie options were a salad and a curry. Which meant I ordered a salad, 2 drinks, and then ate later. The drinks were good, I tried the becky and the tumeric margarita. The Becky was my favorite with vodka and lavender. The place is beautiful. Parking is pretty easy, $5 for endless parking in the deck. $15 for valet parking for 2 hours. After two hours the price keeps increasing. I would say this place is for drinks and small bites. You are high up but the view is the beautiful rooftop you are on. The landscape isn't a skyline or cascading trees. It's mostly a parking lot but the lighting, the roof and the breeze are nice. I wouldn't say this place was family friendly. It's for an adult crowd. I'll be back to share stories and try more drinks.
