    Spicy Miso Soup
    Victoria L.

Ate lunch here on Sunday. Order Spicy Miso and the vegetarian ramen. The spicy miso was AMAZING and hard pass on the vegetarian ramen. The broth tasted more like water than miso. Noodles were great, they really need to add salt and work on the vegetarian broth. Servers were nice, slow for how slow the restaurant was. It is located right in downtown so that made it super convenient!

    10 piece Nigiri

Wow! The salmon Nigiri and Sashimi here is amazing. Melts in your mouth! All the rols here are fantastic. They also make poki bowls that are fantastic. The other crazy yummy thing here is the Kumagaroo steak. The steak is Amazing!! The other amazing thing here is the service. DINO the sushi chef is very helpful and professional and definitely knows his stuff. The inside of the restaurant is very Very plain. They have two huge TVs but they don't have cable options that they did before. Owner doesn't want to pay for it...crazy bc the TV showing a game would have kept the sushi bar full and kept people eating and drinking the great food. I would definitely come back to this place. Hopefully the TV will be working.

    Kamikaze Roll Squid Salad

The squid salad was good. It actually is a good stand alone snack. I wasn't amazed with the kamikaze roll simply because of the sriracha sauce, I felt this masked the taste of food. I tasted more of the sauce than the food. The service was...ok. It seemed the day I went, everyone that sat in the middle of the restaurant received a lot of attention (full disclosure-this was my first time there). I had a window seat. The windows are dark when looking out so it seems darker outside. Overall it was just...ok.

    Spicy Rainbow Roll

Very tasty miso soup and spicy rainbow roll. It's just a few blocks from my hotel so it was very convenient to walk to. Good service, pleasant atmosphere.

My brother called this restaurant in advance and ordered their special, which was to order 5 rolls (under $20) for a total of $60. What a steal! We ordered their poki roll, Alyeska roll, yellowtail roll, Lion King, and dragon roll. This fed 3 adults quite well, we almost didn't finish. The poki roll was particularly interesting as the sushi roll had poke on top of it with apple and an assortment of fish. The dragon roll was delicious with fresh eel on top and all in all, it was delicious. A side of wasabi and ginger was added to the large sushi plate. I highly recommend ordering the Alyeska roll, I absolutely love mayo and the creaminess it adds to the sushi gives it a kick. Out of the 5 rolls, the yellowtail was the most conservative sushi roll in terms of taste. The presentation was gorgeous with the jalapeno delicately added to each cut of sushi. You can't beat this deal and the flavors!

Great sushi! It was super fresh even for a fancy girl standard, not much variety but super fresh! We'll be back again

This place rocked! It was not busy, quick service, HUGE rolls, and tasty beer! The wife and I landed here on our trip, more than twice and it was damn good all times. The muscles, rolls, sashimi, and more were really fresh and had bold flavor. We enjoyed eating here and will be back. Area/place was clean, only had 1 sushi chef (he was good), and the lady helped us each time so she must work a lot. Thanks! Willlll beeee back!!!

3 stars is not enough for here my people ! I give it 5 stars ! I sat at the Sushi bar. The server and sushi chef were amazing and quick service and great quality sashimi also! The heart attack roll is a must get if you like spicy! Had some cold saki and a free miso soup that was fresh and didn't taste like most other weird misos that seem old. Overall an awesome experience! Gang gang! I'll be back !! #GoBucs

Thankfully we didn't have to wait long for service like some earlier reviews indicated. We went on a Saturday night, around 8pm and it was us, 3 people at the sushi bar and a single diner finishing up a meal. Owner/operator is a dear sweet old man. Such a cutey with his big smile. Pricey, the 3 dishes ‐ chirashi, collar, skewers and tea was $93

Mine may have showed up 20mins after my neighbor's. The quality of the food items were just ok. I had comparable sushi at another sushi restaurant a few blocks away. -Idiot Fish: The most exciting thing was the name. It was a pretty firm fish, no fat, and quite a few bones. -Sashimi Platter: 6 types, with 2 each. We got mackerel, yellowtail, tuna, salmon, white fish (snapper?), and octopus. -King Crab Roll: What I thought was the imitation crab was actually real crab. The coloring was so ...fake looking. It's not a bad roll, but I'm not sure the flavor of the crab came through. -Beef Steak Japanese Style: Big dish but awful cut of meat and had a semi off taste. Either freezer burn or the fridge. It was full of sinew and super chewy. -Herring Roe on Seaweed: This had a strange bitter aftertaste. I couldn't eat the beef after having this, it made the beef bitter too. It was a super fun texture though. Very snappy, very poppy. Only come here if you absolutely have the time for it. My dinner took about 3 hours, and there were 5 other tables.

The space has a modern Japanese minimalist aesthetic--clean lines, warm lighting, and a refined calm that feels both welcoming and quietly upscale. It's thoughtfully designed without being cold, striking a balance between contemporary elegance and comfort. Shabu-shabu here is on the pricier side, but the portioning justifies it. The small shabu-shabu easily feeds three to four people, especially when shared properly, and nothing about it felt skimpy or rushed. Three visits in, it continues to deliver!

We used to come here when this place was Peter's Sushi Spot, the inside has not changed hugely…read moresince then, except maybe for the hot plates on the tables, should you wish to have shabu shabu. The hot plates are spotlessly clean, I did notice, and there were instructions on the wall on how to cook shabu shabu. We used to come for the Tempura Udon which was spectacular. We were seated very quickly, and water was brought out. I decided to go with my benchmark dish, which always gives me some idea of whether I will return or not, and ordered chicken fried rice, husband got the tempura udon, so he could compare with the previous Udon we used to get here. I noticed that their soft drinks are only $2 which is an excellent price in my opinion. I got a Canada Dry as I love ginger ale. His Udon came out quite quickly, and we could instantly tell that the broth did not have the same depth of flavour, as when we used to come here, (it was quite smoky and very umami) and this one has a distinctly seaweed tang. Thats not to say that it's bad, it's just different. The noodles are also not quite so dense, chewy or toothsome. Additionally the tempura was somewhat of a letdown. The shrimps were very slimline compared to the display on the tv. There was an onion ring, that was also quite thin. Just not a good representation of tempura. Also, comparing with the Udon that used to be here, you also got a cup of miso soup, and a small salad with a carrot orange dressing. Those are gone. As for my chicken fried rice, well the presentation was excellent, it came on a beautiful plate, and looked very appetizing. The first couple of bites were really nice, plenty of carrots, broccoli, chicken, however I soon started encountering tender crisp onions. Which I cannot eat. They give me violent stomach pains. I can only eat onions that have been cooked down to almost mush. Anything raw or that has any element of crunch to it is a no-go, as it will make me ill. I found it somewhat unusual, as I get fried rice all over town and have never encountered chunky onions before. I'm sure I could have asked them to leave them out had I known they were going to be in there. It tasted good, for sure, but having to continually move the onions aside (and there was a lot of onions) was offputting. Normally when i get fried rice, I eat some, and take the rest in a to go box. I did not take the rest home this time which is very telling. Anyway, service was excellent, and they were very attentive - for instance our server saw that my husband was giving me a spoonful of his udon, and without being asked he came over with an extra spoon, small bowl, and a ladle, which I thought was very thoughtful. I cannot fault the staff.
