This place has a wide range of items on their menu; from beverages, desserts, snacks & full food entrees. This was the 1st time that I got to try out a jianbing. It was just okay. It was filling, but it was pricy (over $12 after tax) and it also had MSG in it. Even though the two of us ordered quite a bit of food, it was still over $42. We ordered two jianbings, two beverages and a crispy chicken. The thing that annoyed me was that they charged me 25 cents for "no ice"! Usually these boba tea places would put a lot of ice in their milk teas, where the melted ice would dilute the flavor. Since it was a cool Winter day, I preferred no ice in my drink. They NEVER told me that they would charge me 25 cents for having no ice, so that was very disappointing in them. Would I come back here? This cafe is cute. It's almost like a fusion between different Asian cultures. They got some Jian Bing, some Bingsu, lots of street food snack options, and lots of different drink options as well. For milk alternatives, they have almond, soy, and oat (oat comes with an additional $0.50, but the other two options do not). There's also plenty of seating inside for a cafe. I came with my family because they were hungry for some snacks, but since I wasn't, I didn't give the snacks a try. However, upon inspecting the menu, I found that they offer Sesame Latte! My eyes naturally gravitates towards anything Black Sesame, so even though I wasn't hungry I had to give their Sesame Latte a try. I ordered a hot Sesame Latte with almond milk. Only took about 5 mins for them to make my order. First sip, I only got foam. Second sip, more foam. My drink ended up being 1/3 foam and only 2/3 of the actual drink... I can definitely taste the black sesame, but it wasn't fragrant. Maybe this has to do with the quality of the sesame or maybe they didn't add enough of the black sesame to the drink. It was okay. Not impressive and a bit disappointing that my drink wasn't nearly as filled as I thought. For similar price, I had better. Stopped by for lunch today. I had big plans to roam around the farmers market afterwards, but everyone was packing up already when we arrived. So we took our time and enjoyed our lunch instead. This is a cute little spot in downtown Sunnyvale. There are about 7-8 tables that sit 2-4 people. Order upfront, pay and pickup your food when they call your number. We ordered: Jian bing vegetarian: 5/5 I loved the crunchy thing they put in the middle of this wrap. It's like an Asian spin on crepes. Everything was so well put together I didn't even miss the meat. It is big and it is messy. You have been warned. Malaysian chicken noodle:3/5 taste was decent but it was way too saucy and a tad too sweet for my liking. Noodle texture was fine. I didn't realize the chicken would be shredded. I would skip the chicken and ask for less sauce next time. Pork rice bowl: 4/5 good hearty rice bowl with plenty of fatty pork slices. Good flavor. Egg puffs: 4/5 small portion for almost $5. The puffs were nice and crunchy and tasted good. Give more or charge less for these. We waited a good 10-15 minutes for these to come out. So if you plan on ordering them do so in advance. Cute little cafe located in downtown Sunnyvale! It's your spacious little boba cafe with a variety of snack food options. They are known for their Taiwanese jian bing, if you did not notice already. These are like thin crepe like exteriors made with egg and with your choice of protein. I tried the pork belly jian bing and boy did they pack it full. There was plenty of pork belly filling. It was overall pretty good. I've never had one before and the exterior was more soft than crisp. Overall, I enjoyed it. The portion is actually decent because it's filled so much. You could eat this as a light meal. Also tried the garlic crispy chicken. It's basically popcorn chicken and then seasoned. There was a ton of garlic in this so garlic lovers, this is for you. The sweet potato fries were standard. Crisp on the outside and sweet/soft on the inside. Piping hot too. Tried the Seoul bao bun, which is a "Korean" spicy chicken bun. I wouldn't say it was much of a Korean flavor profile - it had a combination of spices that tasted unfamiliar to me. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't say it was my favorite marinade/spice profile. They didn't skimp on the amount of chicken and the bun was very fluffy. The jasmine lime drink is new to their menu and tasted great, especially if you're combating illness and need that extra boost of vitamin C. Overall, it was a good experience here! Me: Oooooo can we go here?! Look at this jianbing! BF: You just want it for the Instagram... Me: Lol that is not untrue ^^;; Jianbing is a street food from China that is surprisingly hard to come by in the Bay Area. I'm glad K Tea Cafe has taken up this niche to offer delicious, creative (and highly Instagrammable) jianbing. The menu is endless and a bit overwhelming. I pulled it up on my phone and scrolled on forever. The menu even has an extensive vegan section. Just within the jianbing and drinks, there are already so many options. They have everything from American bar food (wings, fries), to those salted egg chips sold at boba stores, to various Asian food staples (bulgogi, garlic noodles, baos), to epic-looking platters (looks suspiciously like Farmhouse Thai, especially with the blue rice). The jianbing are HUGE. The ones I've had in Taiwan are little breakfast bites, but K Tea's version is like a heavy lunch. They stuff in a lot of crispy fried wonton which makes it extra hearty, although you do have to eat it quickly before it gets soggy. The CLASSIC JIANBING is indeed a classic, well-balanced with the familiar savory breakfast food vibes from the egg, earthiness from the cilantro and green onion, nuttiness from the sesame, mild sweetness from the bean sauce, a dash of spiciness from the garlic chili oil, and nostalgic Chinese bakery flavors from the dried pork floss add-on. Because the portion is so big, I would suggest sharing or mix-and-matching because delicious though this is, the flavors do get somewhat monotonous towards the end, and crunching through the wontons almost feels like a chore. Although I would call myself a jianbing purist, I was rather impressed with the BEEF JIANBING and secretly enjoyed it more than the classic. The slices of beef blended in so well and added a lot of oomph. The combination of beef with cilantro was remotely reminiscent of beef noodle soup, and the satisfaction felt analogous to feasting on steak and eggs, except less hefty. K Tea's specialty jianbing have become my new guilty pleasure. I was curious to try their drinks. Their jianbing + tea combo deal is not bad, but the drink choices are limited. I ended up donating my peach oolong tea that came with the combo to the BF, so that I could try other drinks. Tea flavor was good--not the best in the Bay Area, but there is stiff competition. There are many milk modification options including cream, organic milk, soy milk, almond milk; only the oat milk sub costs extra. Besides the standard boba toppings, they also have "Krama", which I initially thought was similar to crema/creama (I also initially thought it was Karma). It's actually a dalgona-coffee-like creamy whipped topping, and is available in coffee, matcha, or taro. I admired the novelty, though my coffee Krama didn't exactly pair perfectly with my dark roasted oolong soy milk tea. Came here on a Sunday afternoon after reading some of the reviews. Had roasted Oolong boba tea and the classic Jianbing. And they did not disappoint! I sat and ate at one of the tables outside... the cleanliness of these tables and chairs could be improved. Couldn't find a garbage can close by either after wiping down the table. Perhaps I am being a bit picky. But the outdoor experience pales in comparison with a typical establishment such as Peet's Coffee at the nearby Castro street. That's why I am tentatively giving this place a four star rating. If just rating the food, it would have been 5 stars! So definitely do order takeout from this place. Tasty!! 2. Hong Kong Egglette with strawberry and banana. We want to added ice cream but they have ridiculous cold chairs which is metal, not only uncomfortable but super cold! Egglette is not too crispy. Better to add ice cream. 3. Taiyaki with squid. Good Japanese snacks. 4. Taiwanese popcorn chicken. Crispy and hot. Nice. 5. First I want to say I was so excited to find a spot locally that sells Jiang Bing since my trip to Shanghai. With that being said, I just HAD to try this spot. K Tea Cafe is very clean and large space located in historic Downtown Sunnyvale. Parking is easy, with street parking, a parking lot behind the restaurant and Caltrain station just across the way. The cafe looks clean and new with plenty of seating inside. Food is prepped in front area where you can see it behind the glass. The menu is simple and looks delicious. They sell Jiang Bing which is a Chinese "crepe" wrap with fried wonton and choices of meat. I selected the chicken option. Other meats include pork belly, beef or no meat which would be considered traditional. This place offers boba teas, coffee and other asian street foods. I also decided to order a side of the crispy chicken which is popular in Taiwan. The crispy chicken came out first, which tasted very well seasoned, super crispy and pure meat. The snack was great and simple. Then came out the Jiang Bing. It was different than other places I've had it, which was fine. Cooking style was same and when it came time to eat, wow. There was so much meat that I could barely finish it. Just be forewarned that if you get it as a snack, you'll be full for hours. Others ordered pork option and also was full of meat. Ever since our favorite jianbing spot closed in our hometown, we knew we had to hunt some down when we moved to the bay area. We stumbled upon K Tea Cafe over a year ago and have been regulars since! 3.5. This review is for the jian bing only. I am like 90% sure the crepe/wrap is supposed to come out crispy/crunchy, but it came out soft and it only gets soggier due to the fillings inside. The filling inside is good, but I'm thinking due to its volume or sauciness, they had to thicken the wrap, which they arent frying long enough as well. The first time i had jian bing, it was extremely thin (almost paper) and crispy/crunchy. Now, i'm not 100% sure if there are different jian bing styles so i wont say if this is exactly how it should be prepared, but im pretty sure it would have tasted better if fried longer. JianBing has been showing up and circulating around my social media platforms and was intrigued! Taiwanese and Chinese street food is starting to become more and more popularized and for good reason! Ordered the classic JianBing with all of the free add-ons. A savory crepe, filled with egg, scallions, sauce, cilantro and crispy wonton fill the crepe. The add-ons we got were the chili oil, pickled mustard greens, lettuce and shredded dry pork. The JianBing comes out piping hot and is large enough to share between two people. The crepe itself is soft and is texturally contrasted by the crunchy wonton in the center. The hoisin sauce and dried pork tasted good with the chili oil which gave the overall crepe richness, saltiness and a bit of heat. Cilantro, lettuce, scallions and pickled greens brightened up and cut through the oiliness of the JianBing. Do yourself a favor and add some Lao Gan Ma, it adds more savoriness and I love how crispy the chili sauce is. JianBing was a bit messy to eat, but loved all the textural components and flavors! Service was friendly and food was prepared quickly. Sauces, utensils and water was readily available at the counter. Atmosphere of the place was good, lots of seating and felt open despite it's small size. Lots of good lighting, really clean and parking is easy. I came here for the delicious looking jian bing, a Chinese crepe like street food. You can get them plain or with tofu, pork belly, or bulgolgi. I came here with Ken L. a little after they opened and there was no wait. I ordered the classic jian bing and Ken L got the one with pork belly. We each got one add on and we opted for the lettuce and shredded pork (which we barely tasted). You can see your jian bing bring made which was cool but that's where I saw where they skimped on the shredded pork. The wait for the food wasn't too bad. The egg crepe wasn't crispy on the outside like what I was used and that didn't provide much structure when you're trying to eat this. It literally falls apart with every bite.The crispy wonton fried pieces quickly got soggy and did not taste good. K Tea also serves other foods such as popular street snacks and bento boxes. In addition, you can get your usual milk teas, teapresso, tea lattrs, specialty drinks, and infused teas. Ken L enjoyed his strawberry rose infused tea although it was a bit on the sweeter side. So my food buddy and I finally got to try K Tea Cafe. It was the delicious looking Jianbing in the photos that brought us here. We ordered the pork belly and bulgogi beef Jianbing with takoyaki. We went half and half so we both could try. Each Jianbing has two pieces which is a decent size portions. Both meats were tender and juicy. You can also add sauces which I think are toppings. I don't remember if I added any. The Jianbing felt like it was missing something. Maybe it was the hot sauce. It was not spicy at all. Food was good and fills you up. There's a front and a rear entrance. Rear entrance is where the 2 or 3 free hour parking lot is located. There was the ticket meter officer writing citations so don't go over the time limit. My type of "fun" involves reading, working on my free 8 week workout program, studying, and working out. I do miss having dinners out during the weekdays but I can see why I stopped but for some reason Denise's invite via FB enticed me from the get-go. I RSVP'd even though I knew I would be tired the next day. I met her years ago through Yelp; she is definitely one of a kind, vibrant. I do envy her lifestyle sometimes. I saw Alex, Ly, Deep, his wife, Bobby, and a few others that I recognized but didn't converse w/ much. Samples were coming out sporadically. A lot of them did not have names. I really enjoyed the fried gyoza topped w/ Hot Cheetos. Their platter of fries topped w/ the fried eggs and hoisin sauce-type thing was pretty tasty! It's sweet w/ a hint of spice to it. I ordered their famous savory bulgogi beef crepe and sweet potato fries. I liked their crepe a lot... I actually ate it in the car as I was driving home because I couldn't stay later than 8 last night. It is totally car-proof!! Their fries were a little under-seasoned though. Jian Bing is here! The Chinese street food staple that is virtually impossible to find in the US is right here in Sunnyvale. If you have never had jian bing, it's a savory chinese crepe that consists of batter, black sesame seeds, green onions, a fresh cracked egg and sweet and spicy pastes. Some carts may serve it with meats or other fillings, but mostly it's just a large savory crepe that is served piping hot in a paper wrap, right after it's cooked and folded for you on the grill. In China, these cost anywhere from $.15-$.25 each. And yes, they are as huge as the European dessert crepes that you know. My craving for jian bing (translation: fold over crepe with filling) or it's other name, ji-dan bing (translation: cracked egg crepe) is weekly. It's a need that I cannot satisfy because even though I live in an area that has a high amount of Chinese Americans (Los Angeles/Orange County), this, the simplest of street food dishes cannot be found anywhere. The food truck Buddha Bing carried it but that truck is no longer around. I last had a jian bing two years ago and before that was a five year gap. The desire is real. K Tea Cafe is a new milk tea and boba shop that serves a mix of Asian street foods and snacks. For small eats they have crispy chicken, takoyaki, french fries, sweet potato fries, corn nuggets, bulgolgi bento boxes and of course jian bing. They also have hot teas, milk teas, coffee, fruit juices (mango, orange, coconut) and optional toppings (boba, egg pudding, grass jelly, aloe). You can even customize things and pick your tea, your milk and sweetness level. I sampled their two of their milk teas. From my small tasting, I feel the milk teas could a little milkier and have a stronger tea presence. It's only the soft opening right now so hopefully they can tweak things a bit. But mainly I was here to have the jian bing. My Yelp rating is based strictly on the jian bing. Braised Pork Belly Jian Bing ($9.95) - Two bites in and heaven! First bite was chomping off the corner to let the hot steam hit my face. Second bite I hit meat and wonton skins. The wrap is warm, chewy, cooked to the point just below crispiness and the ideal density, strong enough to hold everything inside but not overly doughy. Thickness would be like a warm, thinner flour tortilla. I was so happy because my internal hope and hype was exceeded. All jian bings here come with the egg crepe with green onions, cilantro, black sesame, sweet black bean sauce (hoisin), garlic chile and three deep fried whole wonton skins. You can order it with pork, chicken teriyaki, bulgolgi (korean marinated beef) or with no meat. The pork belly was thin sliced, tender with some fat and well seasoned. Overall, it's slightly pricey, but an extra $1 or $2 was a small price to pay for something I can't find anywhere. And it's sooooo good. You can add more of the ingredients for extra cost but I think it's balanced as served. The only thing I would recommend is that you ask for them to slather in extra black paste when making it. They doubled up on that for me and it came out perfect. K Tea Cafe is located in Downtown Sunnyvale (where the farmer's market is). They have entrances from the front and back of the store and they also have some happy hour specials. Service was great. I If you have been craving this Chinese street food staple like I have, get down there and get one! I bookmarked this spot, and within a few hours, Allen and I found ourselves at Bambu (which is delicious). I had a feeling that K Tea was around here (here goes my sense of direction) and lo and behold, I was right! (For once.) Enthusiastically greeted when we entered the door. The decor inside is unlike the other old(er) shops on Murphy. This definitely gave a breath of fresh air, and I love the family touch to it. Look around, and you'll see! We got to sample their oolong-strawberry tea (not sure what the third flavor was or what this drink was called), and it was good! The tea base seems nice (strong), which I look forward to when I visit in the future. We opted to order the bulgogi jian bing (savory crepe). It took about 15 minutes before we got our item. Meanwhile, we just sat and watched figure skating for the PyeongChang WInter Olympics. #TeamEveryoneWhoIsGood We got our order, and the server suggested that we eat it like a sandwich to get a bite of everything. +1 Bulgogi juices on point! I like that it's not overcooked and the flavor was actually better than most Korean restaurants! *GASP* +1 I like the crunch! Added a fun element to it. +/-1 Crepe was too thick for me- or maybe the ratio of stuffing wasn't right. It was slightly dry and didn't have flavor. Is that normal? +/-1 The sauce was good, but I want more! +1 Every jian bing by default comes with an egg, so no need to add an "extra" unless you were trying to hit your protein. -1 Pretty pricey...it was close to $12. I look forward to trying their other items and seeing the improvement in minute things! ie: ~Execution/speed with orders; ~Refilling the water jug in the corner; ~Where is the trashcan...? ~Don't ask me if I want the sandwich cut, but then tell me I should eat it like a whole sandwich? ~Maybe adding rewards! Boba tea shops are plentiful, but K Tea Cafe stands out for their jianbing (savory Chinese crepe) and quality tea! I tried four jianbing flavors - classic vegetarian, bulgogi beef, chicken chicken, and braised pork belly. My favorite was the pork belly, but I honestly liked them all. They include crunchy fried wonton sheets and have great flavor from the chili and sweet bean sauce. Next time I'll ask for extra cilantro, as the brightness worked well with all the umami. K Tea also serves other street food snacks like popcorn chicken, takoyaki, and fries. The popcorn chicken was extra crispy and had fried garlic slices - so good! I also had the takoyaki and thought that was solid. But let's not forget about the tea! They use fresh ingredients - no powder or high fructose corn syrup here. I got the osmanthus oolong and was pleasantly surprised at the rich, floral flavor. Light sweetness actually meant light sweetness too! I came across K Tea Café under "hot and new" businesses and saw pictures of their Jianbing....to hell with these mediocre pancakes (I said to myself) and I started to make my way there. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much of K Tea Café but after my awesome experience, they've just earned themselves a regular customer (when I'm in the SB on the weekends)! In addition to selling brewed-to-order Milk Teas, Tea Lattes, Fruit Infused Teas, and Coffee, K Tea Café sells Chinese street food: Jianbing (Chinese savory crepe), Popcorn Chicken, Takoyaki, Fries, Fried Tofu, Corn Nuggets, and Bento Boxes. The savory crepe is made-to-order with egg, crispy fried wonton, green onions, cilantro, garlic chili, and sweet bean sauce producing a handheld snack full of deliciously savory flavors with a pop of heat and nice, contrasting textures from the soft crepe and crunchy wonton skins. The uber tender braised pork belly elevated this savory crepe from snack to satisfying meal status. So yummy! The jianbing MUST be eaten immediately as the crunchy fried wonton skins will get soggy and chewy from the heat of the sizzling hot crepe. So, do NOT take this item to-go...it won't taste the same if you eat it later. Every time I try a new boba place, I'm often disappointed by their watery milk teas. I was pleasantly surprised that the tea flavor in my Oolong Milk Tea at K Tea Cafe REALLY came through and was perfectly creamy. Initially, I requested it to be "light" sweetness but the cashier told me that their "regular" sweetness is less sweet than other boba shops because they use brown sugar, not syrup. So, I went with the "regular" sweetness. It was too sweet for me so next time I will request "light" sweetness. The young cashier with dark blonde hair and glasses was so kind and very customer service oriented. She did a great job explaining the menu to me and saw me wobbling on my injured ankle so she offered to personally bring out our order to where we were sitting outside. Clean, bright open space with a handful of four-tops inside and counter seating. There's dog-friendly seating outside which is perfect for people watching on S. Murphy Avenue. Came here after they were mentioned by my foodie friend for the jian bing. The jian bing were awesome, freshly prepared and eggy, and came packed with ingredients. There are some free toppings you can include inside such as pickled veggies but I think they were a little generous with them because it did get a bit too salty. So basically resist the urge and get the original or just ask them to put less. Also this is the style with fried wonton skins, which I'm not used to but it does add a nice texture. When my friend said we should try a place with Chinese breakfast crepes, I totally had something different in mind. I wouldn't even necessarily use the word crepe to describe this--it tastes like a giant stuffed burito to me, but instead of a tortilla you have eggy goodness. This place is located in downtown Sunnyvale by the Caltrain station. Because of this location, I would be wary going during any peak rush hour time, as you'll be competing for parking with people going to or returning from work. If you don't mind a bit of a walk, parking at the Macy's across the street is always a safe option. To the store itself: I really like the interior decor, but totally forgot to take a picture. Onto the menu, there's a lot I wanted to try but settled on the pork belly jiangbing. It was good! I have certainly learned it's quite hard to mess up pork belly anything, which likely also contributes to the higher price (I see you, $1 extra for this fatty goodness). In the dish, there was a red, somewhat spicy sauce, which caught me by surprise. Since I have almost no spice tolerance, I would have preferred it served on the side/on the table for me to add as needed. Certainly a solid choice. My Chinese friend was letting me know these are pretty standard breakfast fare, which is pretty rich in oil and flavor, so just go later for brunch if that may be an issue (it can be for me). I believe this is one of the only places in the area to come for a Jian Bing. If there are others, I haven't found them. Downtown Sunnyvale is a small downtown, but there are some nicer places to go to that are quite modern. I'd lump K Tea Cafe into that group. I came only for the Jian Bing, and it was a pretty good snack. They are made right to order and have good flavor. Service was fast as there were not many customers when I went, and I would assume it's pretty quick even with a crowd. It didn't take that long for them to crank out our Jian Bing. They will cut it in half for you to make it easier to eat and to share it if you are getting other stuff! I was really surprised that after eating the Jian Bing with my hand, there was literally no oil on my fingers. So, I'd say that as Jian Bing goes, this was a pretty healthy one. Taste was good. Price? It was about $12 after tax. Bang for the buck and a Chipotle burrito will fill you more for 2/3 of the price. Overall worthwhile if you want to try a Jian Bing. First time eating a Jian Bing! I ordered a bulgogi beef Jian bing and it was quiet a different texture with the crepe. It was a little sweet on the side. I really like that the staff asked me if it was okay to be spicy. I don't like spice and I asked her if she could not add the sauce. So that was great customer service. She also explained why my Jasmine Milk Tea was a bit darker than normal when I asked. They use tea leaves with organic Milk and does not use any powder. That's a bonus and healthy way of having milk teas! I also order corn nuggets and they are AMAZING. Crunchy and not too sweet. Parking here during a Friday night around 7pm was a nightmare. So come early or park far where the new parking structure is next to Macy The shop is very clean and modern. It is organized and very lively. It wasn't too busy when I came, but right after I finished up ordering, tons of people started coming in. I got lucky! I would come back here again but on a weekday during lunch time. Was looking for something we haven't tried before and came across K Tea Cafe. The delicious looking pics of the jian bings were intriguing so we decided to check it out. We stopped by on a Friday afternoon. It was very quiet. Parking is either on the street or in the parking lot behind the cafe. We found a spot without any issues. The interior decor is very cute and modern. They have a wide variety of food items. I was a bit disappointed and surprised with the lack of drink selection. Prices are a bit steep, but I guess that's due to them being in downtown Sunnyvale. We got two jian bings, one with bulgogi and one with chicken. They were ok... it was cool to watch them make it. I expected a crispier exterior but they were quite soggy. It didn't taste bad, but the price was definitely higher than I expected. The corn nuggets were a pleasant surprise! Definitely recommend it! Drinks were also mediocre... Not much tea flavor, and again, prices were a bit on the higher side compared to other boba shops and cafes. read more

And with that, I am glad to tell y'all about KTea cafe (named after it's owner Katie! How cute!) Located on the oh-so-popular Murphy Ave. in Sunnyvale, this cute lil cafe serves Jianbings (savory Chinese crepes filled with eggs, crunchy wonton and different meats), crispy chicken, and takoyaki etc along with delicious fruit and milk teas. I attended their soft opening this past week, and was blown away by the whole experience. Pros: 1) The Jianbings: You have to try them! I recommend the pork, but the veggie one is pretty good too! Meats cured to perfection! The crepes are a delicious and savory. You gotta try them to believe me! 2) The drinks: The fruit teas are DELICIOUS! (So are the milk teas! Ever tried aloe vera jelly? It's the best!) 3) The customer service: family owned eateries have the best customer service, and this cafe loves up to that saying! 4) The decor and ambience: open, airy, indoor and outdoor seating, and cute artwork.
