Pretty decent Korean cuisine with limited selections. I ordered Beef Bulgogi in a stone pot for dinner. It also came with two choices of Banchan and soy bean paste soup. The Banchan ( marinated cucumber and Kabocha (Japanese pumpkin). The meal was well-prepared and delicious. Just wish they have more selections, such as Kalbi. The soup is similar to miso soup but with a kick. Love it! Need more Banchan selections (at least 4) to earn another star. read more

Thanks, Yelp! I found this amazing spot by searching for Korean food in my area and ....voila!! Right near my hotel. I arrived early....just before 5pm on a weekday and had the place to myself for a little while. It's super clean with wonderful service, and there's k-pop playing on a big screen TV. What else could you want? How about absolutely outstanding food? Yes! I was hangry so I ordered a kimchi pancake and an order of bibimbap (no meat) with extra hot sauce. Before all that arrived, I was surprised and delighted by a perfect salad with amazing dressing that I'd like to bathe in and small cup of friggin' delicious pumpkin soup. My kimchi pancake was the spicy, carb-laden appetizer that I needed with a plentiful side of chili sauce. Then, my sizzling bibimbap arrived and I was thrilled to find purple rice under the fresh, assorted vegetables and fried egg. A side of kimchi and fish cakes accompanied my bibimbap. My iced ginger tea was sweet and a perfect complement to the rest of the meal. I almost polished off everything....loved that purple rice that got nice and crispy in that hot pot. Gochunjang tasted homemade...thick, spicy, savory and slightly sweet. The menu isn't extensive or overwhelming....it's just right. I'm sorry...it just wasn't good. Maybe I'm spoiled by the fact that I grew up in NYC and ate frequently in K-town. The kimchee jee gae and dolsot bi bim bop were overly salty and the veggies seemed not really fresh. Also the side dishes are limited and almost never change I feel like they were better when they first opened but now it's just really mediocre....go to Westchester or Jersey for the real thing. read more

This was our first experience with real Korean food up here. We were regulars in Little Korea on 32nd St. in Manhattan; when we lived in the City. Our friends raved about it. Who also are very familiar with Korean cuisine. So the four of us went for dinner tonight. The staff is masked correctly and they wipe down the tables between patrons. We arrived about 5:40 pm. We knew what we wanted and let the staff at the counter know what we wanted as appetizers and Main courses and a bottle of soju. That's how they do it. They give you a menu, you go to the counter, give your choices to them, then wait at your table. The appetizers came out fairly fast. Excellent, scallion pancake and spicy chicken bites. There was quite a gap between when we finished the appetizers, but we didn't really care. We were too busy talking. Then the kitchen started to get backed up on orders. It was busy. Finally a waiter apologetically explained there was a back up of orders. MBD we were not on the clock. The mains arrived with the three sides - ban chan, I guess. Around 6:45 pm. We all had something different. The aromas were mouth watering, the presentation eye catching. We were enjoying our meal and almost finished. It was then when a young man who served the tables; asked us to hurry up! As they needed our table, others were waiting. It wasn't 7:30 yet. Turning tables is usually reserved for diners and greasy spoons. This place doesn't look like one. After taking care of the bill; we noticed they forgot our salads and pumpkin soups; part of the meal. See menu photos. It was mentioned to them. They were apologetic, but if they had delivered the missing parts of the meal it would have taken us longer to finish our meal! G-d forbid!!! It was rude enough to ask us hurry up! We didn't screw up, they did. Solution: Reservations, a few more tables, an efficient kitchen, open than than weekends for several hours. I may be back. This has been a regular spot for us for two years. Anytime we were craving Dolsot Bimbimbap, we'd stop by. Over the last five visits, the quality seems to have sharply dropped off. This is as they have added Udon and Tonkatsu to the menu (which is an odd choice). Every appetizer we've had in that time period was just meh. The Haemul Pajeon featured only a few pieces of seafood and a lot of oil. The Dak Gang Jueng was not crispy and served covered in the same chili sauce you get with the BimBimbap. And you can just skip all the dumplings. The Dolsot is still good. But this place has gone from a reliable regular to only worth stopping because it's convenient. read more

This really was one of the best Korean meals I have ever had. I have had many Korean meals in New York City and in Central America dining with various Korean suppliers that I did business with and this meal was at least as good and probably better than any of those meals. We had the Dakgangjung (fried boneless chicken) and the Tteokbokki (rice cake, seafoodwrap and pork dumpling) starter. For the main course I had the Soondubu JJigae. Everything was outstanding. I was so impressed with this place! Good Korean food is hard to come by especially in the area. Its worth a visit if you love some satisfying, comforting dishes that come to you piping hot. Would recommend this highly! This place is great for Korean food and it taste amazing! Right on route 9, this small restaurant has a decent amount of seating and a very friendly ambiance. You are pretty much able to pick your own seating and you would place your order at the front counter as well as pay there. I was craving cold noodles and was so happy to see that they had them on the menu. This dish is refreshing on a hot summer day and the hot mustard and vinegar came with the dish as well. One thing I do wish I got was a pair of scissors to cut the noodles apart. The servers were friendly and attentive! Checking up every so often if I needed anything, made the place feel more connected to their customer base. Highly recommend to visit if you are in the mood for Korean food. read more

The food is very good and tastes authentic. You have to walk up and order your food and then the food is brought to your table. The only thing I really did not enjoy was the honey ginger tea, as it tasted syrupy and too sweet. The pancakes were recommended by the staff and they were so tasty! I've been thinking about trying this place for a while and finally called in an order. There's no online ordering yet but calling in was easy enough. I definitely hope they start taking online orders soon though. When I got there, the food took a bit longer than quoted but the indoor dining wasn't crowded so I didn't mind standing inside to wait. It was really clean and had nice vibes. I would consider eating there next time. When my food was finally finished and they were packing my bag, I felt like they kept putting in more and more food! You receive so many sides that I don't know how you could possibly finish your meal hungry, First off, the So Tteok-So Tteok was so tasty! I wasn't sure what to expect but yum! Hands down my favorite restaurant in the entire Poughkeepsie area. In the five+ years I've lived here, I've never loved an establishment as much as I do for KorPot. It got my through the pandemic as I was getting takeout orders basically every week. My go-tos are the Jeyuk Bokkeum, Dolsot Bibimbap, spicy fried chicken appetizer, and the rice punch. The atmosphere is incredibly charming, spacious, and the food is always hot, fresh, and yummy AF. The pumpkin soup will give you life as you sip on it. If you've never been, are looking for something new, have never tried Korean food, or are just passing through the area: you MUST go. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly, and whenever I'm there now she knows my name and greets me joyfully. I am moving out of the area, and this is definitely the restaurant I will miss the most, for countless reasons. I live in Manhattan and love going to Korean restaurants there, but I will travel to Poughkeepsie to have the food at KORPOT because it is the best!!! They put so much time and care into making each ingredient in their dishes. Their menu is simple but everything on it is so good. When you order an entree, it also comes with really cute and delicious side dishes. My wife and I went there recently to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The minute we stepped into the place my nose was assaulted by what I can only describe as a dirty cleaning rag smell. We ordered two sodas and the waitress (who was very friendly) brought us two glasses with ice with the soda can bottoms resting on top of the ice. Needless to say, we used our straws to drink straight out of the can. The food wasn't very good, the purple rice was bland, and the Bulgari I ordered was saturated with to much salt. I took a few bits of it and I was done. I had to go home and eat frozen pizza rolls for dinner because of how bad the food was. What really irks me is that I could have gone to Ginger (Chinese food) next door and got better tasting food (similar stir fry as well) for less than half the price. read more

The food here was so delicious! I had never been to a Korean restaurant before and this was a great experience. The staff were all very kind and helpful. My party tried a variety of different foods to all share and were blown away by the tastiness. The location is a little awkward off of 9, but worth the hard angles to get in the parking lot.
