We haven't been here in a few years but we were there for lunch today and Mr Singh is still as personable and funny as ever. The food is still incredible. Onion naan and saag paneer and chicken tika masala along with basmati rice and too much to finish. No buffet but way better than the Indian buffets in the area.

This is IT!! Wow!! Reddit said this was the best Indian food in KC. We were NOT disappointed!!! The staff here is amazing! They are SO friendly and kind. They showered us with attention and little treats. My wife and I ordered the mint naan and she got the tandoori chicken which she enjoyed very much. I got the Chicken Goa Curry at the suggestion of the owner. She was very right. It was magnificent!! This is a small family place in OP. Everyone was working on this July evening: Mom, Dad, daughter, sons...so cool. My wife is normally very sensitive to spice. She ordered hers mild and even had a few bites of my medium dish. It didn't hurt her. The mango lassi was a nice touch. Rice pudding too. We can't wait to return! What a GEM this place is. Just GO!!

Korma Sutra has likely been my most frequented restaurant of 2024! The staff are The Best. So welcoming and they love to share lil bites and sips of their favorite things throughout your meal. The naan, the curries and the chai tea keep me coming back! PS order extra so you have leftovers to take home. One of my KC go-to dinner spots!

My favorite Indian restaurant! The servers are always so happy and passionate about the food. You get more than just what you ordered- samples, desserts, tea and a handwashing at the end makes this restaurant really stand out and you start to feel like family. Always my go to for Indian food!

I dined alone during a business trip to the area. I was greeted as I entered and offered a seat near the window. The ambiance of the restaurant is light-hearted and all of the staff are working with a sense of urgency. It took a few minutes for anyone to greet me after I was seated, but when they did, they brought an attractive menu with a full selection of items. I chose the Korma Sutra Biryani with Naan bread and a Chai. The Chai came immediately along with a sample of Mango Chutney with Pompadam, which was a nice Starter. The Biryani was flavorful and had medium spice and it was enough for 3-4 people. She offered to bring me some Raitta, which I gladly accepted. An older man brought me a sample of the Chicken Tikka Marsala which had a very nice flavor and I would order it next time. At the end of my meal, she offered me a Mango Lasse, which was sweet, but not salty as I expected, so just a nice dessert drink. I enjoyed my solo dining experience and will return when I visit Kansas City again.

There's plenty of bright decor, neon signs, and TVs all around playing everything from live sports to K-Pop music videos! Upon request, our wonderful waitress walked us first-timers through the menu and made some recommendations (spoiler: all were fantastic!). We nabbed a couple appetizers - fries and mac and cheese - and ordered two half chicken servings: one thigh meat, one breast meat. With the chicken we tried four different sauces, and all were fantastic! Our favorites were the spicy sweet chili and the glazed honey soy! The chicken is perfectly fried - super crispy, but still moist meat! They know how to fry up a mean chicken here! We crushed ALL the food, and it was a perfect amount for four hungry people! Although the menu set expectations of the chicken being made fresh and taking up to 20 minutes to cook and arrive, ours arrived much quicker! Props to the cook for the prompt service! Also, I have to say that the value here is outstanding! A FULL family of four for less than $60 is headlining news these days! I guarantee we will be back often to 1981 K Chicken! He seems to eat there once a week. He calls a chicken strip dive bar so it put an image into my head that might have skewed my initial judgment. First of all, the location is in a complete dive bar type of area, out there in industrial part of Sante Fe road, on the east side of Quivera, next to a railroad. I have been there a couple of times in the past because of a laundromat that I used to visit to wash my comforters. The outside also has a bit of a dive bar appearance, with an older look that feels a bit worn out. However, the interior seems quite different from what you get from the outside, sort of like going to a run down Motel 6 or Super8 whose guest rooms has been renovated. The interior is clean and looks like it has been updated recently, this is not a dive bar, it is a family friendly eatery with a bar. However, the bar was empty and was being used as an area for to-go pickups. The patrons were also not really bar types, but mostly families with small children, nearly all of them. So for me, the vibe was a bit off-putting, but I blame that on my expectations (I also blame my friend)... I ordered a 5 piece strip with fries (with cheese and jalapenos) and a coke. It came out to $25 with tax and appropriate tip. I once told the owner that I like Chicken Tenders and he was the first to correct me that these weren't tenders, but strips....the main difference being that the chicken piece were a uniform shape, not conical, like you see in a tender. Nonetheless, the strips were fairly small, but they were good. Certain restaurants, you know they get their food from either Sysco or US Foods, and they are heavily breaded with a rubbery type of chicken. These weren't those. The chicken was fresh and the breading was actually thin and didn't get in the way. The two sauces I got (Blue Cheese and a slightly spicy red sauce) were perfectly serviceable, but nothing to write home about. The fries seemed more of the frozen variety and with an industrial cheese sauce and bottled pickled jalapenos. Would I say this place is better than Slim Chickens, which is just down the road and a bit cheaper? I would say it's slightly better, but it doesn't necessarily justify the price difference (about $5). And I'm still confused with the vibe of the place.

Gluten free and a great selection of dipping sauces. Got my usual on 9/25/25, 3 strips with secret sauce and mango habanero sauce, with coleslaw. Excellent chicken strips hot off the fryer, tasty and great variety of dipping sauces from ranch to above habanero. What impresses me most is their thin and tasty batter on the strips. They also have pork burgers that are unique, and tasty. I'm currently finding it hard to be here less than twice a week or so, as of 9/25.

Keven greeted me and walked me through their spice levels - so on the side of using good judgement I went for a medium 2 strip dinner. Made fresh to order it took about 8 minutes to get my order but it was a lovely change from the slightly warm chicken generally found at a fast food restaurant. These chicken strips were huge! And they've been crusted with the flavor - not drenched in sauce. The chicken was moist and delicious as were the seasoned fries. This will become a go to spot for chicken - winning out over any of the more well known places for me!

Overall, it gives the restaurant a modern street style feel with the bold colors and graffiti around. We bought 2 - one tender and one slider combos $14 each along with buffalo style Mac and cheese with three small chicken pieces $7 and the final bill including tip was $42. The tenders were packed with flavor - crispy and juicy chicken. It was perfectly fried and had the right amount of medium level spice on it. However the buffalo style Mac and cheese was cold and underwhelming - three pieces of chicken with hardly any actual Mac and cheese and fries - it was not what I expected. I definitely expected more Mac and cheese haha. Another downside for me was the pricing of the combos/food- it was high because if you look at the combo it's just two tenders with some bread and sauce. Portion wise it didn't really match the pricing for more of a fast food restaurant setup. The restaurant was clean otherwise and the service was decent - nothing amazing as such. Overall, good fast food with high pricing for what you get.

I'm excited just thinking about it. But oh man was I hoping for better. And I think this place could get there, if they can change some things. Joyce and Brandy laid it out well, so I'll just echo some main points: - The food could be better. Apparently it has been before. What I saw felt pretty low effort, the crispiness wasn't there. (South) Korean Fried Chicken is amazing because even with those delicious sauces, the chicken stays crispy. Best of both worlds! These wings were soggy. I didn't feel great after eating the meal. It wasn't ideal. - The service was nonexistent. I came up to the human at the counter, who directed me not to talk to her but to put in my order on the screen to the side. I hate these. I hate them so much. The UX on the terminal was clunky, the navigation in particular was so bad that there were whole sections of the menu that seemed to be missing. I now know to swipe left on the headers to scroll right to a second page of root-level categories, but be honest, just reading that in a sentence is confusing and annoying. Some people may like kiosks. That's fine! But mandating them is awkward and obnoxious. - I'm still on the service. There's a big menu. There are paper menus. There are little signs advertising fun looking items. I already know what I want. It is so much easier and more enjoyable to order with a real human and get their help. Why put the added friction of learning a clunky interface? An employee would be fluent in the system even if it's bad. And if my case is any indication, it's not helping their sales. I would totally have ordered more dishes if I'd known that was an option. It just looked like they were out so it wasn't available. - After putting in the order, I was prompted for a tip for the service. Which just felt like a coup de grace to my psyche. - It felt like there was no heart here. That's probably an ownership issue. I'm sympathetic to a point, it's not easy in general and there's a lot of pressure to cut costs (especially with the tariff arsonist disrupting supply chains). But the vibe here was dismal, you could feel it in the food and the staff. The space itself seems set up well to have large groups and good times. Could be a fun spot. But right now, the impression I get is that aside from the wings the kitchen does a lot of prepackaged instant food. So I'm not sure what they're trying to be - a decent wing place, or more of a fast-food/gas station type of spot. A vending machine with a deep fryer. Like I said before, this place has potential to be great if they can change some things. They're just going to have to want to. I'm rooting for them.
