Lobster ravioli

Very casual, small dining room. The tables are very small. We almost could not get all of our food on the table, The drinks are very good!! I ordered the Lobster Ravioli and we shared the seafood tower. Everything was very fresh and tasted great!

Seafood tower (torres)

This place has been on my list to try for a while, so I was excited when my buddy decided for us to go here after work. The setting is very casual. We started off with a Michelada flight, which was a nice sampler of three different styles. I then ordered a seafood tower (torres). It comes with a good variety of seafood, and the portion is very generous. The only downside is that the server was a little pushy to take our order, when we were trying to have some conversation instead of ordering within the first 2-5 minutes. Trying fresh seafood in the middle of the country can be a gamble, but this place does it well. I will have to come back with the wife and try some of their other options.

Wow! Mariscos offers a variety of food a bev options with kick. Me and a couple of girlfriends came and were pleasantly surprised not only by the quality of the food, but the price of it as well! We each had two cocktails and a crab boil each for under $100! Our server was kind and took excellent care of us! We sat at one of the patio tables outside, but the bar inside was adorable and the place, though small, was gorgeous. The hot is hot! I will be getting the medium seasoning on my boil next time LOL!

If you love seafood and Mexican food this is the place. My son ordered the chicken fajitas they were full of flavor and a huge portion. I had a shrimp cocktail and a ceviche tostada they were the best I've had in KC. The service was also exceptional.

What an unexpected find on our Friday night search for a dinner option. We had some late afternoon errands & were hungry so we decided on finding something near the area we were in and through Yelp found Mariscos KC. Let's just say we are not hesitating to go back. We focused on the Cajun options with my husband getting the Shrimp Boil & I worked hard on the Crawfish Boil. We are not strangers to Seafood Boils and their base is the best we've ever had. The servers were smiling, friendly and efficient; especially Jenny who took great care of us. We like to sit at the bar especially a new place. It's a great to get to know the staff and how well a place runs and she is a great ambassador for the place. She insisted to come back and sit at the bar so she can take of us again Be sure to give this place a try and don't leave without trying their pineapple ice cream! Until next time.

This review is for the new location in Shawnee, Kansas because they do not have their new location listed yet. My husband and I went for their soft opening several weeks ago. The space is nicely redone and is very clean and bright. We were greeted immediately and sat immediately, but it took a long time for the waitress to come over and take our order, even though there were many servers just standing around the bar. I ordered the fajitas and my husband ordered their shrimp fried rice. The fajitas were just average, the portions were good size. I did appreciate their homemade guacamole. My husband said that his shrimp fried rice was pretty good and he ordered extra shrimp as well. They have an extensive menu and a variety of alcohol alcoholic beverages. The food came out in a decent amount of time from someone from the kitchen. I just feel like their service is lacking and they never checked back upon needing anything except to bring the check.

Ok, so I've been wanting to try Marisocos for a while and we finally were able to make it one Friday night in March. It was a beautiful evening and it was quite crowded inside, so we opted to sit outside...and kinda froze as the evening progressed (would not be remiss if they added heaters outside). Even though it was so crowded, our waitress took the time to help us figure out drinks an food options. I wanted to try their cocktails...sadly I cannot remember what I ordered. I wanted something less sweet and it was what was recommended...unfortunately, I was not a fan. Not because it was a bad, but I freely admit to being a snob when it comes to cocktails. Even though it wasn't as sweet...still waaaaaay too sweet for me. That being said, the food was far and away much better. I loved the calamari strips! Something similar but different to the traditional calamari starters you get...and they came out piping hot!! So YAY! He ordered the chicken tacos (boring LOL) but loved them so of course, always a win! I had the Molcajete Caliente - OMG the broth was delicious (like trying to drink with a straw delicious) and everything was perfectly cooked. My only complaint was that it wasn't spicy enough. Of course that was easily remedied by the hot sauces on the table ;). They also provided tostadas with the Molcajete so I was in a very messy heaven.

Lots of variety in food. Plenty of options for non-seafood lovers. Great Drinks and daily specials. Small dining area thus longer waits.

Very quaint spot, with not just a comprehensive seafood menu of Mexican dishes but other entrees of Cajun and Asian origins. We sat past finishing our meal enjoying the music genres of The staff was very attentive and if service with a smile was their motto.. they'd get an A+! They were poppin with every table occupied but we felt like the best customer! I relished in the flavors of the Shrimp Cocktail - mounds of shrimp!!

The service was highly attentive and so kind. Some wanted to try a seafood boil and they did not disappoint. She loved it all! There were also lots of things that looked great and the plating of everything was very eye catching!

Wow, what a find. Stopped in here after seeing other yelpers talking about it. Some of the best tacos I've ever had. I had the Baja tacos (seafood) and my wife had the carnitas tacos. Both really good! Quaint place that has fun music playing.

This place totally shocked me. We went here because of the pics and when we drove up, admittedly, we pre judged. It's a kind of small diner looking place and we assumed the food couldn't really be as good as the pics showed. WRONG!! We've been here three times now and every time it totally blows us away. Everything is so fresh, amazingly seasoned, and really good sized portions. The molcajete with crab legs is probably the best you'll find in the metro area. The fajita meat was honestly so tender we were going to ask them what they do to marinade bc it was just soooo good. Not only is the food 10/10, but the service is incredible. We haven't run into one less than super friendly waiter and every one of them is beyond accommodating. Definitely do not miss this place.

wow! this place was great. we got some oysters (it was my first time) and they were so good!! we also ended up kind of eating family style so we got come mixed Ceviche Tostada and it was great! i just wish they had brought out more limes to go with them as i thought it could've had a little more flavor. we also got the Seafood Boil and it was really good! i wish it had more crab as it barely had any and it was mostly crawfish which we were all upset about because there was only like one piece of crab and some shrimp and had one corn and a couple of potatoes but for the most part it was mostly crawfish. the service was great! our server was very nice and quick and came to check on us quite often and was very nice. it wasn't that busy but it was a good place to eat with friends! they have tvs on around the place and had spanish songs playing so it was a good vibe. their menu offers everything! from seafood, to chicken tenders, wings, and a lot more! i will definitely be coming back. their michelada wasn't the greatest as it needed more lime or more clamato it was just missing something. but they have so many yummy drinks!!! for good prices and they even have good happy hour and daily specials. a must visit for seafood and drinks in the kc area!

Oscar's Authentic Mexican Grill

Oscar's is a little unassuming restaurant out in Olathe. I…read moreordered from doordash. I got a burrito with zesty chicken, Carnitas stuffed with Chara beans, Mexican rice and your traditional herbs and veggies for $10 with a side of refried beans for an extra $2.79 (I used my own plating for this post). Everything tasted fine , but I will say there was more rice than protein this time around and they were a little chintzy on the amount of refried beans. I was expecting two or three times as much for a full side instead of the lil' souffles worth. Next time I'll probably skip the burrito, kick the beans to the curb and stick with their excellent empanadas or flautas. Note: if you have time to dine in.... they should still have a cool little robot that serves your drinks... The robot along with the staff have always been very nice.

They even have a little robot that brings your food to you. All drinks are self serve and they have horchata. The empanadas were good, you get 3, only downside was it was a little plain and would benefit from cheese and some seasoning for the chicken. Everything is customizable which was nice. The burrito was huge and tasty. The rice bowl was also a big serving and was tasty as well. The chicken in the bowl was seasoned and good! Their chile verde has been the best I've ever had. Staff was kind, building was very clean! They have an option to order online through a QR code and you put in the table number. Will definitely be coming back!

Their chips are the perfect level of thin and crispy, the salsa is great, and I love the wide range of margarita flavors they offer. As far as the service.... Again, been going here for two decades and I don't recall one single occasion of bad service. It's always been the kind of place where they recognize and appreciate the regulars. It's a good atmosphere! I suppose I should talk more about the food. Again, never a bad experience really. I get one of two things- the steak fajitas, which are good but not incredibly memorable- or the divine chicken cream cheese enchilada. I haven't been able to find it's like anywhere. I lived in Texas for three years and I LONGED for my cream cheese chicken enchiladas. The sauce, oh the sauce..... I always get extra, both for the dish itself and to dip my chips in. I will say that the only downside is doing to go or a call in order.... It is not exactly uncommon to find that an extra sauce is missing. Or, for example, if you don't specify that you want the free chips and salsa, it may not be in there. Just check the bag before you leave, that's all I'm saying. Still, one or two little mistakes absolutely will not stand in the way of a five star rating. I honestly love eating here.

And I don't make multiple return visits to restaurants where I don't enjoy the food and the service. The restaurant is tucked away down what appears to be an industrial street where you wouldn't expect to find a sit-down restaurant. Because of this you won't accidentally discover it while you're out on a Saturday afternoon drive. I'm certain the location hurts their business as it has other failed restaurants that have occupied the same space in the past. But if you go to the trouble of finding it, you'll be happy you did. There are a few "Mexican" restaurants in this area of town, but this is a "Tex-Mex" restaurant, which I prefer. I won't go into describing each individual item on the menu, I'll just say the food is solid Tex-Mex. I lived in Houston and San Antonio for a total of 10 years, so I know what Tex-Mex is supposed to taste like. Chapala could definitely hold their own in South Texas. While many items were ok and overall portion sizes were good, it lacked seasoning, especially the quesadilla. It was simply a tortilla with an underwhelming amount of cheese. Didn't even taste like the tortilla was heated up with any butter. Very bland. The tacos we ordered were ok but the shells reminded me of that from a Taco Bell taco kit almost. Sadly a soft option or corn option was not offered to us. Even though we dined around 1230, the restaurant was empty. Only one other table was occupied with guests. The hostess was even eating while working which didn't make for a very welcoming ambiance.
