Found this place via Yelp. App it's new because my sis in law never knew it was around and she live a mile away. We were looking for a quick lunch before she dropped us off at the airport. Perfect timing, we ordered, got our food, ate, and finished just in time to drive to ONT to catch our flight even in traffic. Service was great. I loved the barley tea they gave us instead of water. So refreshing on a hot day. My sis in law and her hubby shared a bulgogi plate, hubby and I shared bim bim bap, plus they gave us all the different banchan(side dishes). Perfect for lunch. We can't eat as much now as we get older. And we all left full. It is a small place located in a plaza full of shops. You can enter from the back or front. We didn't realize we parked in back. My sis in law said she for sure will come back with her daughter, and grande toddler.

I've been to a number of Korean establishments before and would say this place was ok in ranking. Clean place, food loooks great, but flavor profile was a tinyyy bit lacking. Not baddd at all by all means but also not amazing for a revisit. Service was definitely very slow and negligent at least for our table. Almost felt singled out for some reason... repeated the same singular requests that ended up being ignored entirely

Family business. Clean and nice and fresh. Pick your own adventure with every bite. Food is delicious and staff is lovely. Mild music. I will be trying the Togo boxes next time. The soup was rich!

Delicious Korean food. Service is great. Ample amount of parking and place is clean. Will definitely be coming back. Come check out Korean Restaurant in the City of Riverside.

This is my second time here but my first dining in. Dining in is great because then I can really enjoy the banchan dishes. Service was sufficient. There may be a bit of a language barrier. They aren't over attentive. It was not very busy in a Saturday during lunchtime. My friend and I shared the galbi. It was perfect for 2 people . It came out hot and sizzling. The meat was tender. We also got the dumplings which were ok. The sides were all very good. We were able to refill them which is important to me. Overall, I am glad they opened right next to my work!

Visiting family and they've always rave about this place, and NOW I know why. Chefs are amazingly fast with fresh beautiful, delicious, hot food served in a flash. Service was A+! These ladies are happy to be there and on the spot if you need anything, but I don't think that we as a party of 6 lacked anything. I tasted every dish and and all accouterments and i was in hog heaven! Even though they're fast, we never felt rushed to leave. I hope they take me there again!.

Was in the area and while I came for Gra Pow and the gym, I wanted to try any other interesting spots. My go-to with any Korean spot is the japchae. No different here. This was a great portion of it, just not my favorite. Also, if you don't eat meat, beware-there was a good amount of meat in here that I wasn't expecting and had to take out.

We had the kimchi fried rice, spicy pork, and not pictured was a Bulgogi dish and two soups that were part of our combo.

wow, it was just absolutely delicious. We were in town for the weekend so we decided to look up a good place to eat. We only have one really good Korean restaurant where we're from that we know about so we wanted to gain some perspective and try other Korean restaurants. This restaurant did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly, efficient, and their food was absolutely divine. We will definitely be back when we are in town. Highly recommend!!

I visited the previous location in Corona two years ago and am happy to report that the food is just how I remembered! We came for weekend lunch and the service was great. They did get busy once noon hit, so plan accordingly. The food is excellent. They have some of the best banchans. The galbi could've been more tender, but that was because we were trying to clean off the bones. I also tried the kimchi pancake, which I'd recommend, as well as the spicy rice cakes (I'd skip).

Delicious, good service, reasonable prices for the portion size. Tried for the 1st time last week and came back this week with some friends!

Bossam

Amazing hidden gem in the IE! We stopped in looking for some tofu soup, and their side dishes are pretty tasty. I love that they offer combos for you to try different meat entrees, so we tried the bossam combo. Everything tasted phenomenal, and service was especially nice.

Bulgogi, potstickers and fish cakes

Okay but why is a place literally called Korean Restaurant one of the best spots I've had in Riverside lol This place is such a hidden gem. We got the bulgogi, potstickers, and fish cake, and honestly, everything was SO good. The bulgogi came out sizzling, super flavorful, and tender. The potstickers were perfectly cooked, and the fish cake had that slightly sweet, savory flavor that just hits. What really stood out though was all the little side dishes, they just kept coming and every single one was good. You can tell they don't cut corners here. Also... the portions?? You really get a bang for your buck. We left full and happy without feeling like we overspent. If you're in Riverside and want legit, no frills Korean food that delivers, this is the spot. Don't let the simple name fool you. Will be back when I am in town again.

SoonTubu combination with Bossam was incredible. The side dishes were all amazing as well.

Had no idea such an authentic Korean spot existed in Riverside until I randomly searched Yelp while in the area, and I'm glad I did. The menu is extensive, but I went with the spicy soontubu (kimchi & beef) and bossam combo. Both were excellent. The pork belly was tender, the cabbage perfectly steamed, and everything else on the plate came together really well. You can always judge a Korean restaurant by the banchan, and this place delivered. They had over 10 side dishes, and every single one was flavorful and on point. That's when you know the main dishes will be good, and they didn't disappoint. The name being simply "Korean Restaurant" gave me a laugh, but it fits. Simple, authentic, and done right. As someone who's Korean, I can say this place is legit. Even the staff being fully Korean you know adds to that authenticity. Definitely a gem--I'll be back to try more.

The banchan was delicious and had a nice variety, including radish stem kimchi, cucumber kimchi, fish cakes, soybean paste with nuts, fried eggplant, and more. Everything tasted fresh and well made. We started with the fried dumplings, which were crispy on the outside and filled with really tasty filling. The soybean stew was packed with flavor and had potatoes, onions, and zucchini--super comforting. The short ribs were juicy and flavorful, especially with a side of rice. The pork cutlet was perfectly crispy, and the dipping sauce added just the right touch of sweetness. Even the salad was good, with a dressing that wasn't too overpowering. They serve hot barley tea and water, and you can buy canned soft drinks if you want something else. Everything we had was delicious--honestly, there wasn't anything I didn't like. Prices were fair, and the customer service was great. Our waitress checked on us several times to make sure we were good and even showed us how to make rice porridge using the hot barley tea and the crispy rice at the bottom of the pot, which ended up being really good too. The inside of the restaurant is very clean, well-lit, and has lots of natural color (tans, brown). It appears to have been recently remodeled. There is plenty of seating and open space. This restaurant is great for groups of all sizes. We'll definitely be back to try more items.

Don't want to be sweating while you're eating. Coming from highland/redlands, I am happy that there is a ayce kbbq spot in close proximity. Starting with cons: the parking is absolutely terrible. Parking spots are cramped and there's simple not enough spaces, especially during peak times. Pros: now as a long time ayce bbq lover, I understand that red castle quality is not top tier and I don't expect it to be when I go. I view red castle as an affordable joint to get my brisket and beef belly fix, which are the only two items that I basically get. It's odd reading about others experience with service, because every time I go, the service is always fast. I don't need to ask for the grill change because they are fully staffed and consistently checking in. Sure, the hospitality could improve a little but realize what you're going in there for. To stuff ya face! If you're coming here and comparing this place to other kbbq joints, you'll surely be let down. But to enjoy ayce protein for ~25 bucks without having to clean and prep a solid meal, many would realize the true gem that is Red Castle. I remember when their ayce was 13-15 bucks when they opened. Those were the days. I'm also glad that they allow single dining during the week. Not something that I'm able to take advantage of most of the time bc of work but I'm glad it's offered. To all the kbbq snobs (I'm one of them still). Go pay 40 for ayce somewhere else and be happy. Red castle is my go to for a quick fix that is close to home and affordable.

I wouldn't call this place BEST in the IE even if call it a place that's somewhat budget friendly in addition to a service fees and adding on the tip for service that's bare minimum. Quality of meats very fatty & poor & the ban chan (side dishes) are extremely overly saturated with sauce and Kim chi that wasn't fresh it was more on the SOUR and just disgusting in flavor , texture and color it doesn't seem Authentic if you know the difference of real Kim chi from other restaurants. Made several attempts to flag our server which seemed flustered and overwhelmed just for ordering extra meats and replenishing our beverages was such a huge in convenience. For KBBQ definitely in this order I'd say .. local restaurants I'd rather go to Wang Cho in riverside or chino hills U grille 2 spots in Rancho Cucamonga and As far as ayce self serve Koreana grille Riversde . If you wanna travel out hit up Orange County , Rowland heights , LA , SGV for the real deal . Would i dine here again , negative it's disgusting and poor quality of meats very fatty and rubbery texture and ban chan & soups that aren't authentic this restaurant is catered to a particular budget demographic and everything isn't just poor quality. The meat isn't the greatest like the chubby group, but with this price, and since I only ever eat beef belly, is fantastic to me! Its nice and big inside woth good ventilation. All the gens nearly have identical set ups. I didn't like the service here as they are really slow and got my order wrong a lot. Also, sometimes what I asked for didnt come. No AC, and there aren't vents above the grills, so all the heat and smoke just sits around you and blows in your face while you're trying to eat. Korean BBQ is obviously going to be warm with a grill at the table, but this was just uncomfortable. The service didn't help. It wasn't even busy, yet it was taking 10-15 minutes just to get basic things like a drink or napkins. Our waitress also kept forgetting things we asked for, so we had to keep asking again. What's also disappointing is how much they seem to be pushing all the extra stuff now: take-home sauces, snacks, etc. It feels like they're more focused on selling you something else than just providing a solid Korean BBQ experience. I can overlook slow service when the food is worth it, but the quality here wasn't good enough to make up for everything else. Between the heat, smoke in your face, poor service, and subpar food, the whole experience was disappointing. Gen used to feel like a place you went for Korean BBQ. Now it feels like the Korean BBQ itself is almost an afterthought.

We had a 3 year old and 8 month old with us and had to use a portable fan to cool them off. We all had sweat pouring down our faces. At one point we asked the server if we could have some ice for our water cups because the 2 water pitchers were room temp and he hesitated before saying he would add ice to the pitchers. Overall, it made a somewhat decent meal unenjoyable because we were hot the whole time. I'm not sure if this is a regular thing or if the HVAC needs to be serviced, but I would not go back unless they had functioning AC, especially during this heatwave. They were trying to flag down a server for what seemed like 10 mins or so while they frantically fanned their baby with a menu.
