I've been here a couple of times, but after my most recent visit I'm not sure if I'd return again. On the plus side, it's a pretty good value for KBBQ, and the meat quality is decent for the price. That said, service during my last visit was very slow and the restaurant didn't feel very clean. The floor under our table was noticeably slippery from oil, and the ventilation system didn't seem strong enough, so a lot of smoke lingered in the air while we were cooking. Food-wise, everything was okay overall. The banchan were good, and I liked that they offered rice paper. However, the rice paper took quite a while to come out. My favorite item is the hotteoks -- I always end up ordering at least four for myself because they're that good. Overall, it's an affordable KBBQ option, but the service, ventilation, and cleanliness could definitely be improved.

Gen Korean BBQ was really good. I got the bulgogi and it had a lot of flavor, especially once it hit the grill. But the bulgogi fries were honestly my favorite, crispy, a little messy, and just really good. I also tried one of their Capri Suns, they have different flavors and I got the piña colada. That one was my favorite, I'd definitely get it again. The whole vibe was fun and everything came out fresh. I'd go back for sure.

This location is definitely a different experience.. the food and everything was still great, our server was actually great that night too. But the weight was horrendous. I've never had to wait almost 3 hours. We put ourselves on the waitlist. They said about two hours, which is fine, but then we waited outside for almost felt like an additional hour. There was four more people tell us, but yet people were still coming in and getting sad while we were still forth on the waitlist we had to keep checking in with the hostess trying to figure out why we haven't moved in 30 to 40 minutes. So finally, we went back in there and said this is crazy. This is not OK and they finally sat us. Never had this issue. The Rancho location is definitely better in terms of the wait. It's a food here was just as good. I feel like this place is always busy in the evening. Good vibes and good eats.

First and foremost the food was really good and what you would expect out of GEN. I've been to plenty of their locations but it actually my first time at the Corona location which is the closest to where I live. I went with my lady and a close friend of mine. We arrived around 1PM for their lunch all you can eat special. The place was really dead and we weren't acknowledged for 5 minutes or so. We only knew they were open because there was one couple eating. Positives: Food was good and that might be the only thing Negatives: * Small portions that we ate quick after cooking. Was enough for two bites each person . Then we'd wait another 5-10 minutes for the next round. * Check my pictures for the cheese and corn they brought. STINGY . * We were given the check and told "No Rush". They proceeded to rush us by asking if the check was ready every couple of minutes. We were asked like 5 times before she said "I actually need to close your check now". Made things super uncomfortable so we left. I couldn't even finish my drink. I will NOT be back UGrill in Rancho is wayyyyyyyy better.

This location has amazing staff, however not enough staff during dinner. We arrived and waited approximately 5 min before being seated. Once seated it took our server almost 30min just to take our order and bring us water. The quality of the food was excellent. The atmosphere of the environment was welcoming. Just wish they had more people so you're not waiting 45min just to place another order for more meats.

Best server and service

So great and we had the best waiter! Came for the food coming back for the experience

I've been to Gens all over Southern California but this is my first time here in Corona. It seemed to be more spacious and less "smoky" than others I've been to. We made it on a Thursday around 2pm so we saved some money by getting the lunch menu. Ordered the dumplings, and tried the little sweet pancakes for the first time. My favorites were nook gan sal (short rib) and the red wine pork belly. Servers were attentive and I didn't even have to ask them to change the grills. No complaints at all.

I let them know it was my sisters birthday we were celebrating and they did nothing, not a fun place to celebrate birthdays. Food was good, service was a little slow but then again it was a Saturday night. Because of it being a Saturday night we had to keep asking them to take plates off our table, and reminding them to bring us out more meat/rice paper etc The restaurant is pretty, and lots of seating! :) Ambiance is nice, the servers are very polite. But seriously, any other place will sing happy birthday to you, clap it or hum it. This place did nothing, at all! :(

The banchan was delicious and had a nice variety, including radish stem kimchi, cucumber kimchi, fish cakes, soybean paste with nuts, fried eggplant, and more. Everything tasted fresh and well made. We started with the fried dumplings, which were crispy on the outside and filled with really tasty filling. The soybean stew was packed with flavor and had potatoes, onions, and zucchini--super comforting. The short ribs were juicy and flavorful, especially with a side of rice. The pork cutlet was perfectly crispy, and the dipping sauce added just the right touch of sweetness. Even the salad was good, with a dressing that wasn't too overpowering. They serve hot barley tea and water, and you can buy canned soft drinks if you want something else. Everything we had was delicious--honestly, there wasn't anything I didn't like. Prices were fair, and the customer service was great. Our waitress checked on us several times to make sure we were good and even showed us how to make rice porridge using the hot barley tea and the crispy rice at the bottom of the pot, which ended up being really good too. The inside of the restaurant is very clean, well-lit, and has lots of natural color (tans, brown). It appears to have been recently remodeled. There is plenty of seating and open space. This restaurant is great for groups of all sizes. We'll definitely be back to try more items.

I am used to soon tofu soup having multiple levels of spiciness. Also no raw egg is offered without the soup, this I also found odd. Also, banchan was very disappointing. This is what makes the meal for me. Kimchi was not fermented enough and was a pale orange color, fishcake was not offered without you asking, there were no cucumbers, scallion pancake, seasoned bean sprouts, potatoes, or noodles. The flounder offered was very tasty but again, offered at the end of the meal when we were wrapping up. I'm used to this being offered at the beginning or during meal. I think I would only go back if they ramped up their banchan but I did ask, and they said they won't really rotate their banchan :( staff was very attentive but the food will make or break it for me. Hoping I can retry in the future once they're more established.

My wife and I just had our first Korean BBQ experience, and we loved it. Everything is self-serve, which actually made the experience even better. Cooking the food together at the table made dinner feel more interactive and fun instead of just sitting there waiting for food to arrive. Our favorites were definitely the Spicy Bulgogi, Spicy Chicken, and the kimchi. The meats had amazing flavor and cooked up perfectly on the grill, and the kimchi had that perfect spicy tang that paired really well with everything. What we didn't expect was how intimate the whole experience felt. Since you're cooking and sharing the food together, it naturally made my wife and I talk more and enjoy each other's company instead of just sitting there with our faces buried in our phones waiting for food to come out. It really turned dinner into quality time. Another great surprise was the price -- less than $80 out the door for the two of us, which felt like a great value for such a fun and memorable experience. If you've never tried Korean BBQ before, this is a great place to start. We'll definitely be back.

I noticed that the service has become absolutely terrible; the staff didn't even bother to bring out basic essentials like bowls or napkins, making it feel like the restaurant has pivoted to a self-serve model without actually telling anyone. I'm not sure if the ownership changed recently or what happened behind the scenes, but I can definitely say the quality and experience have gone really downhill since the changes took effect. Every once in a while they played a birthday tune over the speakers, which was definitely an interesting and fun touch that added to the festive vibe of the evening. The buffet itself has a huge selection, and everyone seemed especially excited about the fresh seafood options. My niece even tried snail for the first time, which impressed me! There's also a large variety of sushi, which many of our guests enjoyed. Some of my personal favorites were the black pepper chicken, green beans, and sautéed mushrooms. Everything else looked delicious too, but I was already full. Next time I'll definitely come prepared with a bigger appetite to really take advantage of the AYCE experience. One thing I wish they offered was more beverage choices. The options were limited to soda fountain drinks, green tea, and unfiltered water, which wasn't the best selection to pair with such a wide variety of foods. There were also plenty of fried comfort foods like pizza and fries, which made it a great place for both adults and kids since there's truly something for everyone. The staff was friendly and attentive, and overall it was a great place to gather with family and celebrate a special milestone.
