Our anticipation for a special family meal was unfortunately tempered by several service issues that we believe warrant your attention. Upon being seated, our party experienced a significant delay of approximately forty-five minutes before a chef was assigned to our table to commence the cooking process. This initial wait was further compounded when, upon the chef's eventual arrival, it became apparent that he did not have all the necessary ingredients readily available to prepare the meals for our group of eight, causing additional minor delays. Despite these operational challenges, we were pleased to observe a notable improvement in our dining experience once the chef began cooking and actively engaging with our table. The quality of the cuisine was exceptional, with everyone thoroughly enjoying the delicious food prepared. However, we must also highlight a comfort issue that affected our overall experience. I have been coming here for years now. Unfortunately, although still super popular and crowed they have a bar, sushi section, music and the main room of hibachi grills the service has just kind of went down hill a bit. Reservation at 7pm, seated within minutes but food didn't start cooking until 7:36pm cook was really friendly, fast and did all the tricks such as the volcano, heartbeat and knife spinning. Came here for a friends birthday. Pretty cool place to eat. You sat around a fire grill and a chef cooked for you. Made it into a show which made it more entertaining. The server takes your order and brings you out your appetizers first as the chef is cooking what you ordered. They also sell sushi rolls on the side. What an awesome experience, Adam was our chef and he delivered dinner and a show! 5 star service!! He was entertaining and cooked all of our orders perfectly, checked in for food allergies and our server stayed on top of service, swapping out dishes and having our drinks topped off. Portions are big and everything was fresh! Quality food and superb service. There was plenty of parking, inside is a relaxed atmosphere, all the staff was helpful. Who Was so kind and helpful enough to point out happy hour and I had the best shrimp tempura so fresh and hot, not oily. When we got to our table, our server who also greeted us with a kind smile and thanked us for our patience, Alyssa was so thoughtful and kind and generous and compassionate again towards my son with autism. You have to understand that I was beyond touched by all these people's kindness and generosity because people normally ignore someone with special needs or an elderly person every staff there took the time to talk to him and acknowledge him as if though he was just another normal customer or young child. Then we get our amazing chef Adam this man can cook. I strongly recommend asking for him when going there you will not be disappointed in anything he makes. Normally, I do not order the chicken because it's always dry and just not very flavorful however, Adam knows how to use garlic butter and pepper. It was fantastic. He was also so playful with my son. He even went above and beyond to make a bunny rabbit out of the rice. I then went over to talk with the managers, Analy, Samantha, and Jonathan and I could see why all these employees are such kind hearted people because they are being led by a team That is as sweet, nice and compassionate as everybody I encountered from the moment, I walk-through the doors. Wanted to treat my sister and mom for an early mother's day dinner 05/08. We were seated right away and were quickly greeted by our server for dinks and apps. I don't remember her name I feel so bad about that but it started with an "N" and she was a beautiful asian woman. Rigo was our chef and was so great and made the kids excited for the onion tower. Came here for Christmas Day dinner. Had reservations for 4:00pm, was seated at 4:10pm, front end service with drinks was very slow. Our teppan chef arrived to our table about 5:10pm ish and soup and salad was served. 60 minute wait for soup /salad was unacceptable. Why have a 4:00pm reservation if you dont have staff scheduled? Marvin, our teppan chef made up for the long wait and did an excellent job and was entertaining, and our second server kicked it up as well. We will be back and will request Marvin! Me and my husband were in the Corona area looking for a place to have lunch and decided to try Shogun Teppan Restaurant. We were seated at a few minutes along side another family with kids at a timely manner. For appetizer we got the Shrimp and Vegetable tempura which was satisfyingly crispy and yummy. From then we ordered the FILET MIGNON & SCALLOPS to SHARE which included either a side of soup or salad. We chose the salad which always hits. Also upgraded the steam rice to Chicken Fried Rice. This place was like your average Teppan steak place with separate dining areas for Teppan or direct order seating. When it came to Cooking our food here are our THOUGHTS & HIGHLIGHTS TO KEEP NOTE OF: -First off our Chef had his own speaker that he brought to the table for extra music on the side. Which was nice BUT, a bit too much one cuz I couldn't hear his questions as it was TOO loud for me. -The entertainment was as expected HOWEVER, somewhat understandably he was more so Focused on the toddler that was seated at our table. Really ONLY interacted with us for confirmation about our order and how it tastes. -The Chicken Fried Rice was flavorful & crispy -Vegetables well cooked, softened enough to leave a nice bite. -Scallops were glistening and my favorite because they just melted in your mouth. *HOWEVER THE REASON WHY WE GAVE 2 STARS* - Is because the disappointing part of our experience was not being served the CORRECT MEAT. At first we couldn't tell or be sure that we received the FILET MIGNON OR Other CUT OF MEAT and we did not want to make a scene. However as we were eating, knowing the Filet Mignon is a lean cut of meat we should have not received ANY full pieces that were almost entirely Fatty. Unfortunately half way through eating, we encountered such a piece of meat. Indicating to us that we were not served correctly. Overall the quality of food and ambience was satisfactory at best. I ordered colossal shrimp, scallop and squid. I was given regular shrimp. Shrimp was over cooked- like rubber. Scallops under cooked- one guy in separate party asked for his scallops raw in the middle (gross). All the seafood was fishy with NO LEMON. I had to ask a few times to get lemon for the food. The servers consistently check on drink refills, ask about food allergies, and accommodate any preferences you have. You can even request specific sauces from your chef, which is a nice touch. They're very attentive and make sure everything is just right. I recently celebrated my birthday here, and it was such an enjoyable experience. Our chef made the night extra fun for both the adults and the kids, which we really appreciated. The food is amazing--especially the ribeye, which I order every time. I like to ask for teriyaki sauce on the side and drizzle it over everything. While the food is already incredible on its own, the sauce takes the flavor to another level! So I had some business near Riverside that my wife joined me for. On the way home we saw a Shogun off the freeway in Corona and thought we'd stop in for lunch. Mind you I grew up near the original Shogun in Pasadena, so we use that as our measuring stick. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised by a familiar face. Eric Niera that managed the Pasadena restaurant had moved to be the General manager in Corona. The setting was familiar ( decoration wise), but much to our surprise the menu was slightly different. New vegetables, the inclusion of Yakisoba noodles all included for lunch. The Head Chef Hugo had a great show and the food was perfect. In fact it was a larger portion and turns out a few dollars cheaper per plate. Elisha was our server and she seemed to always be there when we wanted something, without being intrusive. I must say, Eric has brought a familiar vibe and the customers that we saw seemed to really enjoy it. The only bummer is that we are going to split our time between Pasadena and Corona ! read more

Diane and I ate here for the first time for a dinner seating with other guests, and although there were a few bumps in the road, we generally liked our overall dining experience. Service was good when we received it, but it seemed like our assigned teppanyaki grill master must have missed a rotation. Then, when we finally received a grill master, the grill would not heat up properly, so we had to move to another grill. Because of these glitches, without any request the manager took 50% off all bills for diners at our grill, which I thought was a nice gesture. We began with a Kamikaze Roll for me, and Shrimp Tempura for Diane. The large sushi roll was excellent, with mild Eel Sauce, somewhat spicy Dragon Sauce, Spicy Tuna, and cucumber and avocado to cool down the heat. The Shrimp Tempura was hot and very good. Onion Soup was real tasty. And Salad with a fine light dressing was good, but did not include tomatoes. Green Tea helped wash everything down. There was a real long break between the salad course and cooking of entrees and sides. When it was at last cooked on a working grill, Chicken Fried Rice was excellent, but my Filet was more rare than medium rare as ordered. Vegetables and other cooked food, like shrimp, were well prepared and tasted very good. Because we were celebrating my birthday, I received a colorful samurai's paper headpiece and a complimentary Brown Cake and Vanilla Ice Cream as a cool treat. XXX-1/2 stars overall! read more

Not only did he make rude comments as he tried to be funny, the meat was cooked badly and used a ton of butter. We ordered different combination meals, lots of sushi, and seared tuna salad. The salad took a long time and came a few minutes after the sushi, how does that happen? The place was not even busy! Sushi was good; I'll give them that. We talked to the manager and got a percentage off the full price, but it was still unacceptable behavior and such a poor turn out of this place. We didn't receive a follow up. My family & I came here on a Sunday around 4:15pm. The wait wasn't bad, we were sat pretty fast. Our server took our drinks and orders and was very kind. However, it took about 35+ minutes to get a server to our table to start on the entrees. When we did get our entrees started some of the orders were shorted shrimp and then had extra steak which wasn't horrible, it just took a few more minutes for the shrimp to arrive. The chef was very nice and gave us the extra steak. Inside the restaurant, it was extremely hot. Before our chef even got there and turned the stove on, we were all sweating. On the bright side, our food was delicious. I got the tofu delight with shishito peppers.
