Visited Amazing Pokey on Saturday, Aug 23 and it delivered! My girlfriend and I ordered two medium poke bowls (4 proteins each), loaded, super fresh, and the cilantro aioli was killer! We've had a lot of poke bowls, but this one hit differently. We placed a Grubhub pickup and ended up eating inside... great music, spotless tables and a clean dining area, and the team checked on us for extras (ginger, more aioli). The server did not mix my poke first, before placing them into the bowl. Not sure if this is their standard. Price is on lower end. Their small comes with 3 scoops of protein instead of 2, and so on. 1 more scoop than others. However their bowl is standard size. Some poke has giant bowl to fill. This was my fourth time pickup up food here. Nothing against the food quality...BUT: I placed an online order through Yelp! Before leaving work for 2 small bowls: $18 each. I received a text with the pickup window - perfect timing as I drove home from work. I arrived a little after the pickup window & the employee can't find my order. Then he checks a tablet behind the counter & say "oh...ok...found it. I'll make these right away." I look at the menu: small bowls are $16; large bowls are $18. I ask why I was charged $18 for food that costs $16. He answers "I have no idea." I respond "well, just make them large, because the large is what I paid for." "I can't do that. You should have just called." Apparently getting ripped off is now MY fault. I sat in an uncomfortable chair for about 10 minutes while he makes my food & says "thanks for coming" or something. This place is such an upgrade from Poki Cat, but also dangerous for my wallet because of how good it is! I want to come here everyday. I love that they offer multiple sizes for your bowl so you can build your bowl according to your hunger. The fish is fresh and they offer so many sauce options.
