Hands down THE BEST sushi for the price I've ever had. As someone who loves getting sushi and trying different rolls, this place genuinely did not disappoint when it came to both quality and price. I ordered the tuna roll (tekka maki), 4 pieces of nigiri, miso soup, and 2 salmon onigiris, and it all came out to UNDER $20. I was honestly shocked. The tuna was NOT fishy at all. No weird aftertaste, super clean and fresh. The seared salmon literally melts in your mouth, and again, zero fishy taste. The unagi had such a nice smoky flavor from being torched, which made it even better. The tuna nigiri (not pictured because I devoured it immediately) was so light and refreshing. The miso soup was super good (like every comforting miso soup should be) but I also loved that it had tofu skin, which I think is such a cool addition compared to other sushi spots. They literally make everything right there in front of you, which makes the experience even better. I also shared the Musashi Roll and I HIGHLY recommend it. My friend and I called in and ordered food for pick up around dinner time. The process was really easy. We called in and placed our order as we Had the menu open on our phone. The lady said it would be a 15-20 minute wait. I went to pick up our order in 15 minutes and the food was ready. Picked up and paid for the food was really fast. When we got to my friend's place to eat our dinner, everything looked so good. The price of the dinner sushi nigiri was reasonable for the amount of food we got. Although the fish to rice ratio wasn't really to my liking. It was a lot of rice to the fish. My negative is I also ordered edamame. I could tell the taste was off. It was seemed over cook. Either it was overcooked or it was made earlier on in the day (morning/lunch) and I was just given pre made edamame rather than a fresh batch ‍ Can't really comment on the place since we didn't eat there, but it looks clean. Musashi is a great little hole in the wall Sushi spot. My niece came out to Visit and wanted sushi so I found this spot. I was skeptical since the restaurant was empty... but after our meal I was surprised it was not more packed. The restaurant is small, it a lot of seating but is great for date nights or small groups: they have tv's playing sports or music and they have a nice cherry blossom theme with lights and it was nice. The service was great I know where were the only ones there but they made sure we were tended to. They also have hot tea and water available for you and I did not notice till after which made me sad lol Next time I'll get some for sure. My niece got the beef rice bowl, with a California roll without the shrimp since she is allergic to. I got the dragon roll, the musashis roll, seaweed salad and the crispy onigiri. I really enjoyed every especially the.crispy onigiri!! Both my rolles were very delicious and freshly my niece really enjoyed her beef bowl and we were both very Satisfied. They do have a fairly limited menu but the food was enjoyable. I appreciated the simplicity of this restaurant and the sushi was great. One thing I would recommend is having. This is a small mom and pop sushi restaurant and I think most of their business comes from to go orders. There are a few tables inside but they are small 2 or 4 seaters. That said, I came in a party of 6 on a Friday night and they were able to accommodate us by pushing 2 tables together. There were only 2 people working. One lady who took orders and one man making them. They call you to pick up your order from the counter, so it's not full service, but the lady was very nice and helpful. We really like seared salmon nigiri and love that they have that here. On top of that, the sushi is very affordable, and tasted fresh. Our usual sushi spot in the area closed down so looking forward to coming back here more often! read more

We were so excited to find a Musashi's in Southern California! Actually, by accident while trying to check the hours for Bellevue to see if I could make it from the Seattle airport to their Bellevue location in time before they close - then for some reason, the Corona location popped up and I thought it was a mistake or someone stole their name! But after checking their website, it seems they've expanded far beyond just Seattle and Bellevue, and are now in Kent WA, Tacoma WA, Oregon and now California. Such amazing news! Except now we'll be back into our cycle of frequent visits to get our sushi fix. We've soured on Southern California sushi so much because we're in Japan 4x a year and just wait until we're back there to get sushi, but now with Musashi's we have a place to get great quality, affordable sushi in between those trips! So our experience - it's amazing how our memories of a place can be triggered by taste. The moment we tried the harusame salad, all of our memories of Musashi's came back. The sushi itself was delicious - there wasn't a single piece we didn't like in either the chirashi or nigiri. The salmon instantly reminded me of the countless pieces of Musashi's salmon I had in Washington over the years. They even have toro now which was never an option before and it was delicious! The only downside, and I'm not sure how big of an issue it is assuming it's a change at all of the locations, is while the prices have gone up only slightly from even 8 years ago, the pieces are smaller, depending on the fish. I remember the salmon, Hamachi, shiro maguro, all used to be huge slices - or more specific, slabs of fish. Now most of the pieces are much smaller, although the salmon is still fairly large. Maybe this is the same for the Washington locations too? Either way, for $80 we had a chirashi, 15 pieces of sushi, two harusame salads and miso soup - with nigiri sizes bigger than most other restaurants, and quality far better than most other restaurants, with a price about 1/3-1/2 less than most other restaurants around LA County and Orange County (not in Corona/Riverside - other than Musashi's I would never try crappy/weird sushi in the Inland Empire - proper sushi is NOT covered in mayonnaise and weird sauces and tempura flakes!). So the good news is we found a local Musashi's - the bad news, at least for our wallets is we found a local Musashi's! It wasn't busy tonight at dinner, so hopefully they grow their customer base - this place is so good, people should be driving here from all over the IE and OC and even eastern LA county for their sushi - although hopefully without the big lines and long waits we had with the Seattle area locations. read more

Each table is set up with a Thermos pot of hot tea and cups to serve yourself. Their main appeal would be for the budget-minded. More reasonable pricing, given a limited menu. By limited, I mean there is not a long comprehensive list of creative, house sushi rolls, only a few of the more ubiquitous kinds to choose from. The entire menu is one page. Good tasting miso soup. We were given a bowl upon sitting down, no charge. The rolls are made to order. I enjoyed the roll with shrimp tempura in a California Roll. The rice was still warm and lightly flavored. The tempura was crisp and fresh. 10 good sized bites for $9. This I would choose regularly. However, the unagi maki roll was disappointing. Nothing about it stood out. 6 pieces for $6. We would not reorder this. We also ordered one meal to share. This included 3 teriyaki meat skewers (one beef and two chicken) to which I added one additional beef skewer for $3 more. It came with a portion of steamed rice, grilled zucchini, and an Asian flavored salad made of thin noodle, imitation crab, mayonnaise, and sesame oil. I really liked the salad. The skewers were decent. The chicken pieces were thigh meat and more generous than the beef. Both were nicely cooked, and lightly dressed with teriyaki sauce. The food is delivered to your table and was attractively plated. While I would not rush to return, it does have a place in my meal routine when a quick, inexpensive sushi fix is needed. read more

In my opinion the rolls are too big and not traditional enough but this was okay the turning point for me were the salmon sushi, they felt not really that fresh, they were too big with lots of rice making it hard to eat. The lack of plates on the table makes it really messy and annoying to eat. I would give just a couple points to improve: -Adding plates on the table -thinner and smaller sushi cuts -smaller rolls cured with more professionalism -keeping the sushi more fresh, it was warm which gives you the thought of not fresh even if it is! read more

We came in tonight for some snack. We were the only ones there, but the waiter was kind enough to get us situated. He got us a high chair and told us to sit wherever we'd like. We looked over the menu quickly on the table and went up to the counter to get 2 rolls: Musashi roll and salmon cheese roll. The rolls were really good.
