Yoshiharu is beautifully decorated and well organized dining room. Stepping in from the outside transports you to an inviting and relaxing experience. Staff happily greets you upon arrival. Nice offering of Shio, Shoyu, Miso, Tonkatsu or Chicken ramen. Noodles are perfectly cooked with the perfect bite, firm, springy and chewy.. Gyozas are piping hot with a crispy wrapper. Came here today and it is located in Ranch 99 plaza on McKinley and the ramen here is OK. This place has hearty, flavorful bowls of ramen in a casual, welcoming setting. The Tonkotsu broths was too salty and it didn't have the right broth taste. Given that it was cold outside having ramen was the right choice. Portions are generous, and prices are reasonable. Just wished you can customize salt level as I had to drink several cups of water to dilute it. However if you are looking for flavorful deep to Tonkotsu broth you may have to go somewhere else. Menus were dirty, with pages sticking together. Customer service was extremely lacking. Had to flag down staff for everything, from letting them know we were ready to order to asking for napkins and the check. My husband and I both ordered ramen, and my son had a bento box. Part of my son's meal came shortly after we finished our appetizers (Cajun salmon roll and jalapeño bomb; both of which were good!) then things went downhill quick. After a few minutes, the female staff brought a lukewarm bowl of miso soup to the table, stating it was part of the bento and then after noticing that only my son was eating, she realized we didn't receive our entire order. She quickly brought my ramen, and offered my son ginger & soy sauce (to which he said yes please) then disappeared and we never saw her again. We think that either they forgot about our ramen, or gave our bowls to another table that arrived and ordered after we did. When my husband asked the other server for the check, he mentioned he never got his ramen and to take it off the bill. No apologies, no offer to take the ramen to go. As we walked by, wasn't even sure it was open - no interior lights on, no window signage stating open, landlord padlock on the Entrance Door.... but I judged the door and it opened... one of the staff welcomed us and I stated that we weren't sure if they were open... Next came the Ramen... Looked very appetizing, but again I had to get up and request a couple of soup spoons... went to dig in, and while the bottom of the bowl was warm, the broth itself was quite cold... after calling over the waitress and asking them to please reheat (even if they had to use the microwave)... the waitress took it back to the "open" kitchen and they used the microwave to reheat... The bowls were returned and as we started to eat, satisfied that the broth was indeed hot, we noticed a couple of items missing: the corn - no corn in the broth like it was described... in addition to that, no Wood Eared Mushrooms were in the broth either... the wood eared mushrooms set the "black" apart from the standard ramen and cost $.50 more per serving... when questioned about it, the hostess informed us that they didn't have any mushrooms... as a consolation, she offered us one of the "extra price" toppings in place if it... we opted for the tofu... a bowl of tofu pieces came out and although they appeared to have steam coming off of it, the tofu was cold as well... smh... We finally visited Yoshiharu Corona after having it bookmarked some times ago. I was surprised to see it offers an AYCE option for $20 per person, that includes appetizers, Ramon, and sushi rolls. Needless to say that's what I went for. The second surprise was how fast appetizers and ramen were delivered to our table but sushi rolls arrived much later. I enjoyed both gyoza and calamari. The garlic spicy edamame turned out to be quite spicy. My tonkotsu miso was what I expected it to be - decent but not the quality I had elsewhere. Quality of sushi rolls was not what I have hoped. It fell apart when I picked it up on chopsticks so I had to use my spoon to transport it to my plate. Overall it is a good value for my AYCE experience. I give it an 8/10 overall. Will say the egg was the best part of the food!! The egg for me is a big deal. Egg I would give it an 100/10. I also loved how thiccccccc (yes I had to emphasize it lolz) the pork chasuuuu was. I felt like the only issue I had which wasn't major was the broth needed more flavor which I give a 6/10 but that me personally. Will say the portion is HUGE. I got full with just eating half of it. We were one of the two tables at 12:00 pm on a Saturday, which I would assumed would grant a pretty quick lunch. With one server, it felt like we were looking around most of the time to see where she was to ask for items that she forgot about like soy sauce and wasabi. The food took oddly long to come out (one dish at a time) despite the only other table having already received their food by the time we finished ordering. We got the deep-fried gyoza, which came out hot yet bland, but only 5 small pieces for $7? Wasn't worth it. We also got the Cajun Tuna Roll, which was decent since it's just heavily seasoned tuna. The ramen LOOKED great, I got the Tonkotsu Spicy Black & my boyfriend the Tonkotsu Spicy Miso, and there was no depth of flavor at all like ramen should have. Really wanted to like this place, but I can't recommend anyone coming here. Got seated quickly on a Monday afternoon. Did the $24 AYCE menu and put in orders for appetizers. Put in another order for ramen and sushi maybe 10 minutes later. It took about 2 hours to get all the food from our first and second round of orders. Service was way too slow, and severely understaffed in both the kitchen and waitstaff. The sushi rolls also tended to be on the rice heavy side, being an amalgamation of a California roll with salmon or tuna on top. The takoyaki was the only thing that came out somewhat fast and good. Spicy black garlic ramen was decent but at that point, anything could've been good to eat after waiting so long for food. Save your money and drive a bit further for a better experience. You'll probably save a bit more time and have a better time anyways. read more

The AYCE menu is extensive and offers a variety of options to choose from (I crossed out the items that aren't included in AYCE). I do wish they offered half portions so that I can try more of their items without feeling overly full. The food was pretty good overall, and considering the price, I can't complain. I came on a Sunday afternoon; while it wasn't too busy, the tables against the wall were all occupied and felt a bit crowded, making it somewhat uncomfortable to get up and down from our seats, such as when using the restroom. The waiting time between getting the food, flagging down the one waiter in a restaurant with no more than 3 total table seated, and then the waiting time again to secure the check took way more time than I would have liked to be here. We were a party of two so we were sat at the very back of the restaurant since tables for two were located on the sides of the hallway that led to the kitchen and bathrooms and where supplies were stocked. Not happy. We ordered Yoshi roll and Spicy Black Ramen the Sushi roll was not fresh. The ramen was not hot. The bowl the ramen was served in was chipped. We chose a time that was not during the rush hours to give this place a try. Sadly, our experience did not match up with the positive reviews they have received in the past year they have been open. Perhaps it was mostly our food choices (every restaurant has its Achilles heel), but my take-away impression was that it was simply overhyped and offered poor quality. This is an up-and-coming chain restaurant with multiple locations scattered around So. Cal. I loved the multi-paged menu. There were many choices, ramen, bento boxes, sushi, and rice bowls. We each picked a bento box, which usually gives us an opportunity to get a mini sample of their wares. I love a good pork tonkatsu, schnitzel by another mother. So that was our order. I also grabbed at the chance to sample their curry gravy that I grew fond of when visiting Hawaii. And while the flavor of the crisp katsu coating was delicious, the meat was pretty tough and chewy. I was pleased by the curry sauce. Perhaps a curry chicken katsu might have been a better choice. Unfortunately, they were out of chicken that day. The bento box included a small baby greens and tomato salad. And, oddly, that is what caught my attention. They make the pink, gingery dressing that I love. This stuff is so good I might embarrass myself by drinking it all down long after all the lettuce is in my tummy. Unfortunately, the other items in my bento were underwhelming. One tempura shrimp. While the shrimp was fresh, the batter was too heavy. The single eggroll was stuffed with only watery vegetables and was quite disappointing. And the worst item was the sushi (4 pcs). Very poor quality. The filling was oddly fishy tasting, not a typical California roll at all, with just a whiff of avocado, all surrounded by hard cold rice. Based on that, I would not be compelled to eat any kind of sushi here. The only saving grace was the one gyoza that was actually tasty and worth ordering as an appetizer. To further push me toward the edge, the background music that they chose was loud rap music. Odd and unpleasant, it was not exactly the most soothing of sounds you would be expecting to hear to enhance your Japanese dining experience. The service needed help, too. While each of the servers were sweet and friendly, they were simply oblivious, and inexperienced. We found ourselves several times needing to catch their eye for simple things, like, for instance, no napkins. Once the food came out, we became invisible customers. And lastly, the one functioning bathroom (the other was closed) appeared to be unmaintained. Not particularly clean, there were two, nearly empty rolls of toilet paper that were laying nearby while the double TP holder was empty. There were no paper towels whatsoever. Perhaps a word to the wise would be, stick with the ramen. I would still be interested in trying some. The many offerings they listed on their menu sounded quite nice and might be worthy of a second chance before I would choose to completely write them off. Meanwhile, there is another fairly new ramen place a few miles west of them on Hidden Valley Parkway that I consider a more solid experience and good quality. read more
