As a Riverside native, it was really nice to finally try Koreana Grill, a place that's been around for a little over 30 years that I've driven past countless times. My wife and I just had our first Korean BBQ experience, and we loved it. Everything is self-serve, which actually made the experience even better. Cooking the food together at the table made dinner feel more interactive and fun instead of just sitting there waiting for food to arrive. Our favorites were definitely the Spicy Bulgogi, Spicy Chicken, and the kimchi. The meats had amazing flavor and cooked up perfectly on the grill, and the kimchi had that perfect spicy tang that paired really well with everything. What we didn't expect was how intimate the whole experience felt. Since you're cooking and sharing the food together, it naturally made my wife and I talk more and enjoy each other's company instead of just sitting there with our faces buried in our phones waiting for food to come out. It really turned dinner into quality time. Another great surprise was the price -- less than $80 out the door for the two of us, which felt like a great value for such a fun and memorable experience. This place differs from most because it is a self serve unless you do premium and they will grab those options. They offer tempura, beef, pork, seafood, and chicken. We came here for the first time on my birthday. They open at 12 noon, and I recommend arriving a little early because the line can get long. We got there about 10 minutes before opening, waited in line, and were seated right away once they opened. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating for large groups. The food is self-serve, which I really like. My favorites were the galbi and BBQ beef. They offer a wide variety of meats, salads, and side dishes, plus soft-serve ice cream. The servers were very attentive, they changed our grill a few times and kept our drinks refilled. The prices were reasonable: $33 for adults, $9.99 for my 7-year-old, $7.99 for my 5-year-old, and my 2-year-old ate free. We're definitely looking forward to coming back! read more

This is the go-to spot for my friend and I when we meet up for lunch and a catch up. Seating is plentiful, with booths for all. A server will come take your drink order, then you're off! No waiting to place your order and no restrictions - just go help yourself! The AYCE buffet centrally located, being easy to get to from all sides. One section is filled with of a variety of meats and cuts: pork, beef, chicken. You can choose regular or spicy marinaded meats. Another main section holds a salad bar, vegetables, noodles, fruit, and sauces. I love stocking up on kimchi, fish cakes, daikon, and sprouted soy beans! Fried selections such as tempura offerings and pot stickers are also centrally located. Soups and rice are on the side. Moving among and between tables creates an easy flow. The food is always fresh and tastes of good quality. Pans and trays are rotated quickly, so there's little to no waiting to fill up on favorites. One thing I greatly appreciate about Koreana is the air flow. It never smells oily or smoky. The servers change out the grills often. I don't feel like I have to come home and wash my hair after eating here! Also, the spaces in between dishes are clean. Spills, drips, and overflow are cleaned up quickly. Customers can tell they care about a clean and crisp presentation. Lunch has plentiful offerings, and dinner has even more, broader offerings. giving it a four simply because of the poor service we received the second visit, however, I recommend reading this review entirely. The first time we came to eat here, it was a recommendation from a family member. So with great curiosity we found the place where you'd least expect it, with a line out of the door. So immediately was very promising. We signed our names in and waited. We were called back within a reasonable amount of time. Enjoyed the great variety they had to offer. And left super excited to come back for more. A week goes buy and as KBBQ lovers, we can't stop thinking about it and go back. We put our names down and were given a dirty look from the host. She skipped our name 3 times calling other people back who signed in after us. (A party of 2) and when we finally said something, there was a line of people who I guess had also been skipped. She finally sat us. Took our drink order and never came back with our drinks. We enjoyed our meal nonetheless. Ever heard of AYCE kbbq with buffet style banchans? I haven't but I was very intrigued that they have that! Service is good, place is cleaned frequently, owners are friendly and staff check up on you for grill change without needing to ask. Came for weekday lunch at 2pm (ends at 3:30pm) and price was $23.99 - so worth it! I was lucky and didnt have to wait longer than 5 mins to be seated but surprisingly it was very full and people were still coming in and adding themselves to the wait list. There are a few meat items that have to be ordered with the staff but it's still unlimited. The other meat selection such as bulgolgi, chicken teriyaki, spicy pork, etc are all out at the self serve area. They even have fried rice, rice paper, fried potstickers, california roll and ice cream soft serve available. I enjoyed the experience and their concept of banchan. There are plenty of Korean BBQ places where we live in Temecula, but none really compare to Koreana, per our neighbor. And now I see what she was talking about. I am very picky about meat, and I thought the meat was very high quality. The spicy chicken and spicy pork were lean without spots of weird texture. The galbi was super tender and delicious. Raw jalapenos on the grill? Yum! The mushrooms and onions added a great flavor to complement the meats. For the sides, the potato salad was yummy, as was the bean sprouts and japchae. I enjoyed the fried rice and potstickers too. A couple of things I noticed: some of the dishes were left empty for a longer time, and it didn't seem like they wiped down the counters very often in the sides area. Amazing experience! The all-you-can-eat meats were perfectly marinated, tender, and great quality, but the real star for me was the banchan. Everything is made in-house and you can tell--the cabbage and radish kimchi were fresh and crunchy, the pickled radish had a perfect tangy-sweet flavor, and the cucumber salad was super refreshing. This is my favorite AYCE Korean BBQ spot in the IE because it's just... easy. No overthinking, no waiting 20 minutes to flag down a server for banchan. You want sides? During weekdays from 12-3:30... they offer buffet @23.99 .... all other times , it's 32.99 ... I was a single diner and was led to a booth. It's basically a buffet style thing... you're able to get whatever you want and cook it at the table.. They have cooked items and meat that you can grill.... They have all the basics for meat... beef brisket, pork collar, pork belly, bulgogi, spicy pork, teriyaki pork, teriyaki chicken, spicy chicken, tripe, and marinated calamari.... They also offer a couple of soup, plain rice, fried rice, dumpling, pumpkin tempura, squid tempura.... Banchans were a lot as well... radish kimchi, kimchi, tofu, seaweed, radish wraps, bean sprouts, salad, lettuce wrap, different sauces, Oranges and ice cream for dessert... They're pretty quick to refill the table so thats a good thing. In terms of ambiance, it seems like the place does its thing.... meaning it serves its purpose... the staff are quick and would change the grill for you if they see that it's almost burnt... they are quick to refill your drinks as well.... The staff are mostly Koreans as well. Sweet Ajumma and kind ahjussi.... Will definitely return for their lunch weekday buffet.., Meat quality was pretty good.., Bulgogi marinate wasn't too sweet I like the calamari... the tripe didn't hurt as well. :) the chadol had good marbling and pretty thin. The meats we had tasted great, especially the Korean ribs. The fried rice was also good. However, the inside of the restaurant was extremely smoky. I understand that the tabletop grills produce some smoke, but it was overwhelming and lingering inside the restaurant. I've been to several other KBBQ restaurants and the ventilation was much better. The selection of meats also wasn't very large compared to other places. I was expecting more variety. The buffet area was messy, unorganized, and understocked. I understand being busy, but the buffet area just looked neglected. I was excited to come here for the buffet-style dining, but it's pointless if the food isn't stocked. Overall the meats had good flavor, but I would not recommend this place. There are better KBBQ restaurants out there that will provide a better dining experience. read more

Had to audible and find a last minute place to eat due to the protesting in the downtown Riversidearea. Just had a wonderful celebratory dinner here! Not my first time eating at Koreana Grill. There was a big line outside but the wait was reasonable, 10-15 minutes. Food came out quick and was fresh. The food bars were fresh and stocked. The servers were nice and cordial.
