    Unique side mini fish

The best beef bolgolke I have had in a beautiful new Korean Restaurant set right here in Riverside. The modern clean decor is welcoming as are the staff who sat my party promptly. They quickly brought us barley tea on the house with all the Korean side dishes that 1-2 are different each time I've eaten here. The sides are fresh, with many choices including the kimchee, pickled bean sprouts, potato. The appetizer dumplings are delicious, juicy, authentic that I wanted to order more. The beef bolgolke came out sizzling with the smell of onions and beef. I chose purple rice with beans as it is super healthier for you. Cannot wait to try more menu items.

Fried Fish cake. New on the menu and delicious

I've been here too many times to count and it's always perfect. Some new items on the menu including Bulgogi Kimbop which a huge portion and just perfect. Woo Young Woo would be proud (IYKYK).

I visited the previous location in Corona two years ago and am happy to report that the food is just how I remembered! We came for weekend lunch and the service was great. They did get busy once noon hit, so plan accordingly. The food is excellent. They have some of the best banchans. The galbi could've been more tender, but that was because we were trying to clean off the bones. I also tried the kimchi pancake, which I'd recommend, as well as the spicy rice cakes (I'd skip).

    Bulgogi, potstickers and fish cakes

Okay but why is a place literally called Korean Restaurant one of the best spots I've had in Riverside lol This place is such a hidden gem. We got the bulgogi, potstickers, and fish cake, and honestly, everything was SO good. The bulgogi came out sizzling, super flavorful, and tender. The potstickers were perfectly cooked, and the fish cake had that slightly sweet, savory flavor that just hits. What really stood out though was all the little side dishes, they just kept coming and every single one was good. You can tell they don't cut corners here. Also... the portions?? You really get a bang for your buck. We left full and happy without feeling like we overspent. If you're in Riverside and want legit, no frills Korean food that delivers, this is the spot. Don't let the simple name fool you. Will be back when I am in town again.

SoonTubu combination with Bossam was incredible. The side dishes were all amazing as well.

Had no idea such an authentic Korean spot existed in Riverside until I randomly searched Yelp while in the area, and I'm glad I did. The menu is extensive, but I went with the spicy soontubu (kimchi & beef) and bossam combo. Both were excellent. The pork belly was tender, the cabbage perfectly steamed, and everything else on the plate came together really well. You can always judge a Korean restaurant by the banchan, and this place delivered. They had over 10 side dishes, and every single one was flavorful and on point. That's when you know the main dishes will be good, and they didn't disappoint. The name being simply "Korean Restaurant" gave me a laugh, but it fits. Simple, authentic, and done right. As someone who's Korean, I can say this place is legit. Even the staff being fully Korean you know adds to that authenticity. Definitely a gem--I'll be back to try more.

Kimchi Fried Rice with Meat and Galbi

I thought this experience was kind of funny at first. I was craving Korean food one day, so I literally searched "korean restaurant" to see what was nearby, and that's when I found out there's actually a place in Riverside called Korean Restaurant. The name made me laugh, but it also made me curious, so my friend and I decided to check it out. I'm assuming it might be somewhat new because I hadn't noticed it before, but I'm really glad we gave it a try because the food was delicious. The ambiance feels very much like a traditional Korean restaurant. They were playing K-pop songs in the background, and they had the classic metal chopsticks and silverware that you usually see at Korean spots, which made the whole experience feel authentic and cozy. The staff were also really accommodating and sweet. At one point I mentioned that I have a peanut allergy after noticing the warning label on the menu, and they immediately made sure to check that none of the dishes we ordered contained peanuts, which I really appreciated. The prices honestly weren't bad either. The Kimchi Fried Rice was $17.99, and the Galbi was $33.99, which felt pretty reasonable for the portion and quality. The only small issue we had was with the banchan refills. We asked a few times and it was a little hard for them to come back to our table. I think it might have been because we were seated toward the back, so they probably didn't notice us as easily. Still, the food was really good, the staff were kind, and the atmosphere made it a great place to satisfy a Korean food craving.

Prob the closest thing you're going to get to really REALLY good Korean food outside of LA/OC. We went in a Sunday afternoon and waited about 10 min before being seated. The place is small and smelled delicious. The Bulgogi and Galbi were good, although my sister said the bulgogi needed sauce but I liked it just the way it was. They do give you a lot of meat. My sister ordered the wings and she liked those. She's a picky eater so that says a lot. I did have a piece and I liked it. I ordered chapjae and it was good (but reheated at home, it was not). They give you all the typical banchan. The kimchi was good, and I'm picky about that because I live next to an old Korean couple who makes it every year and gives us a huge jar of it. This place is pretty expensive, for everything we paid over $100. We did order enough for 3-4 people, so broken down its average but there was only 2 of us this day. They do have a four item to-go menu for $12 though. The water and tea are free. I would definitely come back for the food. The service was pretty good. They came and took our order right away and we didn't have to wait long to get it.

Guys, you don't know how excited I've been waiting for this restaurant to open for months now! I finally got to try this restaurant and am impressed by the decor and food quality. The service was alright, but understandable as it was an extremely busy night, even on a Wednesday. There was a 20 min wait to be seated and only about 3 servers for 20 tables. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot for some authentic Korean food in the IE. Banchan was unique and had wishes there were refills.

tofu soup w spicy pork combo

The restaurant is very spacious with beautiful decor. We were so excited to try it out after seeing it opened as there are so few korean restaurants in IE and it didn't disappoint. The service was alright, but it was a bit difficult to ask for more side dishes. We often had to go up to them to ask. The tofu soup was flavorful with lots of seafood mixed in. The spicy pork was tender with not too much fat. The side dishes were very standard, but we absolutely loved the marinated baby potatoes. They were super soft with a nice balance between sweet and salty. The mixed rice was absolutely delicious as well and helped make this meal stand out compared to other tofu soup places. Overall, everything was delicious and I'd definitely recommend this place. The only thing we found upsetting was the portion size for the price. It is a bit pricier than most restaurants and the portions are smaller as well.

    Small bulgogi plate to go

I wish I knew about this place sooner. Genuinely the best authentic Korean BBQ here in Riverside. The freshness of the food and for the price of it is truly unbeatable! I got the bulgogi small plate to go and it was definitely not small. You can tell they put so much care and effort in their care. Will probably be back tomorrow!

Service was friendly and quick, very helpful with picking out a great meal, especially with having friends that are unfamiliar with Koran food. Food prepared fresh and very good. Ambiance of the restaurant, combined with the food prep, cutlery, and decorations, gave off a very cosy Korean atmosphere.

I heard that this restaurant is run by the people who ran Jin Han in Corona, which was a really solid authentic Korean place. Based on the menu and banchan (side dishes), I think it's true! We got our usual beef tofu pot and galbi (full portions for $20 and $33, not the combo which is half the amount). The portions aren't huge but that's what the banchan are unlimited refill. Was also in the mood for some comfort food so good a Budae Jjigae (army stew) which is a spicy kimchi stew with the protein options soldiers had such as spam, salted pork belly, and sausage, along with a pack of ramen. Our was initially missing the ramen but they quickly remade it when we pointed it out. The place was full the whole time we were there for Saturday dinner but three servers were able to keep up. Our server, Jin, was super nice and attentive. The ambiance is relaxed but elegant. It's nicely decorated with subtle Korean elements. Overall very happy to have authentic Korean food in the neighborhood which is a little low on variety. Hope it can stay! Btw, I asked if they're updating the name but no plans to... at least nobody will be confused about what kind of food they're signing up for!

The banchan was delicious and had a nice variety, including radish stem kimchi, cucumber kimchi, fish cakes, soybean paste with nuts, fried eggplant, and more. Everything tasted fresh and well made. We started with the fried dumplings, which were crispy on the outside and filled with really tasty filling. The soybean stew was packed with flavor and had potatoes, onions, and zucchini--super comforting. The short ribs were juicy and flavorful, especially with a side of rice. The pork cutlet was perfectly crispy, and the dipping sauce added just the right touch of sweetness. Even the salad was good, with a dressing that wasn't too overpowering. They serve hot barley tea and water, and you can buy canned soft drinks if you want something else. Everything we had was delicious--honestly, there wasn't anything I didn't like. Prices were fair, and the customer service was great. Our waitress checked on us several times to make sure we were good and even showed us how to make rice porridge using the hot barley tea and the crispy rice at the bottom of the pot, which ended up being really good too. The inside of the restaurant is very clean, well-lit, and has lots of natural color (tans, brown). It appears to have been recently remodeled. There is plenty of seating and open space. This restaurant is great for groups of all sizes. We'll definitely be back to try more items.

I am used to soon tofu soup having multiple levels of spiciness. Also no raw egg is offered without the soup, this I also found odd. Also, banchan was very disappointing. This is what makes the meal for me. Kimchi was not fermented enough and was a pale orange color, fishcake was not offered without you asking, there were no cucumbers, scallion pancake, seasoned bean sprouts, potatoes, or noodles. The flounder offered was very tasty but again, offered at the end of the meal when we were wrapping up. I'm used to this being offered at the beginning or during meal. I think I would only go back if they ramped up their banchan but I did ask, and they said they won't really rotate their banchan :( staff was very attentive but the food will make or break it for me. Hoping I can retry in the future once they're more established.

Don't want to be sweating while you're eating. Coming from highland/redlands, I am happy that there is a ayce kbbq spot in close proximity. Starting with cons: the parking is absolutely terrible. Parking spots are cramped and there's simple not enough spaces, especially during peak times. Pros: now as a long time ayce bbq lover, I understand that red castle quality is not top tier and I don't expect it to be when I go. I view red castle as an affordable joint to get my brisket and beef belly fix, which are the only two items that I basically get. It's odd reading about others experience with service, because every time I go, the service is always fast. I don't need to ask for the grill change because they are fully staffed and consistently checking in. Sure, the hospitality could improve a little but realize what you're going in there for. To stuff ya face! If you're coming here and comparing this place to other kbbq joints, you'll surely be let down. But to enjoy ayce protein for ~25 bucks without having to clean and prep a solid meal, many would realize the true gem that is Red Castle. I remember when their ayce was 13-15 bucks when they opened. Those were the days. I'm also glad that they allow single dining during the week. Not something that I'm able to take advantage of most of the time bc of work but I'm glad it's offered. To all the kbbq snobs (I'm one of them still). Go pay 40 for ayce somewhere else and be happy. Red castle is my go to for a quick fix that is close to home and affordable.
