I rarely take the time to review a place these days, but I really feel like they deserve the mention. I've been here three times over the past few months, and every visit has had me looking forward to the next. If I lived closer, I would probably be here a lot more often. Growing up in LA's Koreatown, I developed pretty high standards for Korean food, and it's not always easy to find places that capture the quality and authenticity I remember. This is the first Korean restaurant I've tried in the Inland Empire that truly delivers. One of my biggest indicators of a great Korean restaurant is the banchan. The side dishes may seem simple, but they say a lot about the care and attention a restaurant puts into its food. The banchan here is always fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. When a restaurant puts that much effort into the small details, it's usually a sign that everything else on the menu will be just as good, and that has absolutely been my experience here. Everything I've tried has been delicious, and the quality has remained consistent with every visit. On top of that, the atmosphere is welcoming and family friendly. My boys love coming here, which makes it an easy choice whenever we're craving Korean food. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for authentic, well prepared Korean food in the Inland Empire. It has quickly become one of our favorite places, and it never disappoints. read more

Came in on Father's Day. They were busy. Service felt so rushed and it was sub par. We did not even get refills for the drinks. the restaurant - It was minimal and clean. I appreciate that. Food wise, bulgogi was good. The tofu soup lacked flavor though. I wasn't sure if it was appropriate to ask for salt or fish sauce. The broth needed depth. The mild was certainly very mild. The soup was not hot enough to actually cook the egg. I'll come back to try other things but just not the tofu soup. The best beef bolgolke I have had in a beautiful new Korean Restaurant set right here in Riverside. The modern clean decor is welcoming as are the staff who sat my party promptly. They quickly brought us barley tea on the house with all the Korean side dishes that 1-2 are different each time I've eaten here. The sides are fresh, with many choices including the kimchee, pickled bean sprouts, potato. The appetizer dumplings are delicious, juicy, authentic that I wanted to order more. They did get busy once noon hit, so plan accordingly. The food is excellent. They have some of the best banchans. The galbi could've been more tender, but that was because we were trying to clean off the bones. We got the bulgogi, potstickers, and fish cake, and honestly, everything was SO good. The bulgogi came out sizzling, super flavorful, and tender. The potstickers were perfectly cooked, and the fish cake had that slightly sweet, savory flavor that just hits. What really stood out though was all the little side dishes, they just kept coming and every single one was good. You can tell they don't cut corners here. Also... the portions?? Had no idea such an authentic Korean spot existed in Riverside until I randomly searched Yelp while in the area, and I'm glad I did. The menu is extensive, but I went with the spicy soontubu (kimchi & beef) and bossam combo. Both were excellent. The pork belly was tender, the cabbage perfectly steamed, and everything else on the plate came together really well. You can always judge a Korean restaurant by the banchan, and this place delivered. They had over 10 side dishes, and every single one was flavorful and on point. That's when you know the main dishes will be good, and they didn't disappoint. The name being simply "Korean Restaurant" gave me a laugh, but it fits. Simple, authentic, and done right. I thought this experience was kind of funny at first. I was craving Korean food one day, so I literally searched "korean restaurant" to see what was nearby, and that's when I found out there's actually a place in Riverside called Korean Restaurant. The name made me laugh, but it also made me curious, so my friend and I decided to check it out. I'm assuming it might be somewhat new because I hadn't noticed it before, but I'm really glad we gave it a try because the food was delicious. The ambiance feels very much like a traditional Korean restaurant. They were playing K-pop songs in the background, and they had the classic metal chopsticks and silverware that you usually see at Korean spots, which made the whole experience feel authentic and cozy. The staff were also really accommodating and sweet. At one point I mentioned that I have a peanut allergy after noticing the warning label on the menu, and they immediately made sure to check that none of the dishes we ordered contained peanuts, which I really appreciated. The prices honestly weren't bad either. The Kimchi Fried Rice was $17.99, and the Galbi was $33.99, which felt pretty reasonable for the portion and quality. The only small issue we had was with the banchan refills. We asked a few times and it was a little hard for them to come back to our table. I think it might have been because we were seated toward the back, so they probably didn't notice us as easily. Prob the closest thing you're going to get to really REALLY good Korean food outside of LA/OC. We went in a Sunday afternoon and waited about 10 min before being seated. The place is small and smelled delicious. The Bulgogi and Galbi were good, although my sister said the bulgogi needed sauce but I liked it just the way it was. They do give you a lot of meat. My sister ordered the wings and she liked those. She's a picky eater so that says a lot. I did have a piece and I liked it. I ordered chapjae and it was good (but reheated at home, it was not). They give you all the typical banchan. The kimchi was good, and I'm picky about that because I live next to an old Korean couple who makes it every year and gives us a huge jar of it. This place is pretty expensive, for everything we paid over $100. We did order enough for 3-4 people, so broken down its average but there was only 2 of us this day. They do have a four item to-go menu for $12 though. The water and tea are free. I would definitely come back for the food. The service was pretty good. The restaurant is very spacious with beautiful decor. We were so excited to try it out after seeing it opened as there are so few korean restaurants in IE and it didn't disappoint. The service was alright, but it was a bit difficult to ask for more side dishes. We often had to go up to them to ask. The tofu soup was flavorful with lots of seafood mixed in. The spicy pork was tender with not too much fat. The side dishes were very standard, but we absolutely loved the marinated baby potatoes. They were super soft with a nice balance between sweet and salty. The mixed rice was absolutely delicious as well and helped make this meal stand out compared to other tofu soup places. I heard that this restaurant is run by the people who ran Jin Han in Corona, which was a really solid authentic Korean place. Based on the menu and banchan (side dishes), I think it's true! We got our usual beef tofu pot and galbi (full portions for $20 and $33, not the combo which is half the amount). The portions aren't huge but that's what the banchan are unlimited refill. Was also in the mood for some comfort food so good a Budae Jjigae (army stew) which is a spicy kimchi stew with the protein options soldiers had such as spam, salted pork belly, and sausage, along with a pack of ramen. Our was initially missing the ramen but they quickly remade it when we pointed it out. The place was full the whole time we were there for Saturday dinner but three servers were able to keep up. Our server, Jin, was super nice and attentive. The ambiance is relaxed but elegant. It's nicely decorated with subtle Korean elements. Overall very happy to have authentic Korean food in the neighborhood which is a little low on variety. Hope it can stay! Recommended by our son who said we should try this place as we were visiting from out of town. They brought out a cold tea in a bottle with metal glasses. I also requested hot tea. They served barley tea which I love. After a few minutes, the assorted Banchan was brought out. We placed our order of chicken bibimbap, japchae, dol bibimbap with soup combo and beef bulgogi, all with white rice. Wait wasn't too long. Unfortunately, my chicken bibimbap order was delayed for some reason. As it turned out, my husband had that mixed with his combo. Wasn't offered hot bone broth to go with the cold noodles like traditional korean restaurants, so kind of bummed. Decided to come here with some friends on a Sunday night and had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated for a party of four. It was pretty busy and still soft opening so it took a bit for the waiter to come see us. They took our order and the food came out pretty quickly though along with all the side dishes. Side dishes were really good and there was a good variety! They also had really good barley tea as well. I ordered the bibimbap as my main, had a seafood pancake to share with my party, and tried some of my wife's tofu soup. The bibimbap was solid and had a generous portion. The seafood pancake was huge and really tasty as well. I thought the tofu soup in particular was delicious and the broth had a lot of flavor. Overall, I had a great experience here. There is plenty of parking at the Mission Grove plaza and you can enter the restaurant through the front and the back. You have no idea how thrilled I am to see a comeback of my beloved (now closed) Jinhan Korean Restaurant from Corona open up in southeastern Riverside (Mission Grove area) under their new name: Korean Restaurant. I was so thrilled to see a newly opened Korean restaurant pop up on Yelp. And, to my surprise, a photo of a familiar-looking menu layout caught my eye! "Wait - no way! This menu looks like (now-closed) Jinhan's menu in Corona! Are they the same owners?" I immediately called to check if this location was real and the lady I spoke with confirmed that they had just opened the day before (opened on 12/08/25). I asked her some questions and she confirmed they were the same owners just under the new name "Korean Restaurant". "OMG! Okay, I will be right there," I told the lady. I hurriedly made my way to Mission Grove and - lo and behold - I spotted the restaurant as I drove in. A little background for you: I was a fan of their former restaurant Jinhan in Corona so I (along with family and friends) were sad when they closed their restaurant this past Spring. LOCATION & PARKING Korean Restaurant is located in Mission Grove in Riverside just a couple miles west of the 215 freeway, and is nestled next to Cookie Co in the Stater Bros shopping center. There's plenty of parking but be careful as it is near the entrance to the plaza and the round-about. AMBIANCE Upon entry, I spotted some familiar employees. I was happy to see them, as they were quite busy. The restaurant was half full but busy with to go orders. The layout is more narrow than the previous location but it does have a more brighter ambiance. It's brightly lit and airy. I enjoyed the music that was playing lightly in the background. FOOD & DRINKS They provide complimentary chilled water and roasted barley tea. It's delicious and refreshing. * GALBI - These beef short ribs are my favorite. Of all the Korean restaurants I've been to, they have the best marinade for Galbi. It's savory, slightly sweet, and a bit sticky. It's delicious! * STEAMED EGG - New to their menu and I love how fluffy this is! * SOON DUBU (Beef Tofu Soup) - Ordered the "spicy" and it was a tolerable heat. It came with an egg to add to the soup. The tofu soup was perfect and smooth. * BEEF BULGOGI - This leans toward the sweeter side compared to Galbi but it is delicious. They use thin slices of beef so it's not as tough as Galbi but equally delicious. * BANCHAN - There were 8 sides at our table, which was plenty. All were various flavors and textures. My favorite are the kimchi, cucumbers, and the braised potatoes (Gamja Jorim). SERVICE Being that it was Day 2 of their Soft Opening, service was a bit slow for folks eating inside. It's probably because there were so many take-out orders. Nonetheless, two of the employees remembered me from eating at Jinhan. They were really kind and friendly. SEATING & ACCESSIBILITY For those with wheelchairs, walkers, or strollers, it might be a bit difficult getting around inside because the layout is narrow. However, they do have outdoor patio seating if you're looking for space. There is a small private room in the back that appears to seat about 8 guests. Otherwise, most of the tables seat up to 6 guests. RESTROOMS Restrooms are all the way to the back (before the private room) and the women's restroom was very clean. It had a very nice scent, which reminded me of Creed men's cologne (so nice)! Overall, if you're looking to try something new in the area or are wanting to eat some Korean dishes, I would highly recommend giving Korean Restaurant a try. The flavors are delicious. I've been really looking forward to this restaurant opening! Coming from the OC area, I got used to having Korean food easily accessible. Until this spot opened, the only Korean restaurants in Riverside were mainly KBBQ-focused (and there isn't a stand-alone Korean spot in Moreno Valley), so I'm really happy to see a place offering classic dishes. *C3 Bulgolgi + Tofu soup combo: The bulgogi had a lot of nice savory flavor, and I liked that it was piled high on the dish. It arrived sizzling on a bed of white and green onions. We ordered the tofu soup without spice, and it came with plenty of tofu, pieces of beef, and an egg to add on top. I appreciated the generous amount of tofu, and I plan to try it again with a bit more spice next time. *K2 Seolleongtang (ox bone soup with beef): As one of my favorite comfort soups, the seolleongtang here had a rich bone broth with a large amount of beef included. My favorite part was how much beef they added as it made it especially enjoyable to eat alongside the noodles. They provide salt, green onions, and chili on the side so you can customize the broth, as is standard for this soup. *Banchan: I normally don't comment on the banchan (side dishes), since it's a standard part of Korean cuisine, but I wanted to mention it here as I was impressed with both the quantity and quality of the side dishes served. The only note I'd make is that for the price, the entrees we ordered were on the smaller side compared to what I'm used to seeing in restaurants. I recognize this is the only Korean restaurant in the area, but I still wanted to mention it. That said, it doesn't take away from the flavor! The interior decor is thoughtful and well put together. You can tell the owners invested a lot to make the space feel cohesive, and it honestly feels like an authentic, nice restaurant I'd find in OC. I also appreciated how patient the servers were in explaining the dishes to customers. It was clear there was a lot of passion behind the food and the restaurant, and that they really want to introduce Korean cuisine to the community. The front faces a roundabout, so the closest parking is either on the other side of the building or across the street in a larger parking lot. There's also outdoor seating with cute fairy lights that light up the space in the evening. I think this is a great spot to come with friends, family, or on a date, and a great place to try a lot of Korean cuisine or be introduced to it. Best Korean food I've ever had. Food tasted so fresh and clean, very easy to clean our plates. The galbi was so tender and I loved that the hot stone crisped up the rice. The wings also had a nice sweet and tangy flavor with great crunch. The kimchi seafood soup was very flavorful, but wish it was spicier (we ordered medium hot). Unfortunately they were out of the naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles), which I was a little sad about because I was really craving it. Instead, I got the bibimbap combo with soondobu (spicy tofu soup). I'd definitely recommend getting at least medium spice for the soondobu. My friend got the mild and said it didn't have much flavor, but the medium had a really good kick and tasted great. The bibimbap itself was pretty solid since you really can't go wrong with it, especially once you mix in the gochujang sauce. Overall, it's a pretty decent Korean spot. Came in yesterday around 330pm with my mom and son. My go to place is OC for Authentic Korean food but thought I'd give this a try since it was nearby and had great reviews. I ordered the bulgogi and tofu soup combo and my mom ordered K2 seol leon tang which was the ox tail soup with beef. The bulgogi was pretty good just a tad salty but flavorful. The seafood tofu soup was very delicious. The ox tail beef soup however completely lacked flavor. Even with the spice and seasoning rack they provided it. I absolutely do not recommend that dish as it tasted like water and flavorless meat and should not even be on the menu. The sides were decent but have tasted better. The egg plant, cucumber and fish cakes were the tastiest of the side dishes and didn't care for the others. Overall the food was decent but what was upsetting was the lack of customer service. The waitress forgot our rice and I finally said something about 10 minutes after receiving my food since I was eating my soup first. My mom had ordered the purple rice and I had white, so she called the young waitress to remind her that she had the purple rice. That waitress lowered her body to almost be eye level with my moms and responded with a "I got you" in the most rudest tone like she was so annoyed. I heard that and was taken aback. That young waitress had no right to talk to a customer like that especially if the customer was asking kindly. The manager needs to retrain her when it comes to customer service skills. Not once did the waitress apologize for her mistake of forgetting to bring it out. I also noticed that none of the waitresses asked any customers if everything was okay with their food or if they needed anything after the dish was served. The food here is fantastic. No more need to drive into LA/OC county for legit Korean food. Their sundubu (spicy tofu soup) is amazing, way better than BCD and definitely anything else in this area. Finally an authentic korean restaurant in our area! My first impression upon entering was its cleanliness and neutral vibe. We were greeted and seated right away. You can order based on your preference according to our server: there's a section on the menu for shareable dishes or order individual plates. We chose individual plates. Our food was fresh and amazing! They also serve several condiments, water, and tea with our meal. The only cons I would mention is the customer service and prices. Our server seemed nice enough but she never came back after our food was brought to us. It also took awhile to get our check and she quietly placed it at the end of the table without asking if we need anything like take-out boxes. Not really a huge deal or anything. When you walk in you notice the clean aesthetic of the restaurant. It wasn't very busy when I visited so I was greeted promptly and friendly and then was shown to my table moments later. When you are seated you are brought a little container full of barley tea and I've got to say it had a nice roasted flavor and was so refreshing. The waitress was friendly and patient while I looked over the menu and I ultimately chose the Beef & Vegetables w/Rice in a Hot Stone Pot dish. As soon as your food comes out they bring you all the banchan (sides) and each one was delicious but my noticeable favorites were the kimchi and the potato salad. My main entree was nicely plated and was piping hot. The egg on top was perfectly cooked, the beef was delicious and marinated very well, the vegetables were a perfect combination too. Finally a different kind of restaurant in this area other than pizza and tacos. I have been here twice now and I've tried the tofu soup, one with seafood and one with beef. The seafood was interesting but the beef was great. Also tried their spicy pork and the bulgogi. Word to the wise on heat levels, if you think a five is a medium, it is not. If you can't handle too spicy but like some spice, stick with level two or three. I tried level 7 and almost died but it was great! There are entrances from the front and back, and tables that seat about groups of two to four. Not a place for large groups. this new Korean restaurant just opened, and I had to try it with my friend. I got the Bulgogi beef and seafood soup. It was super delicious and a bunch on had my favorite cucumbers which were pickled. I really enjoyed it however, my friend did not really like his kimchi soup. However, my seafood soup and my Bulgogi beef was very tender and delicious and flavorful. Definitely coming back here again and the service was top-notch. They gave us iced tea as well. The ambience of the restaurant was super nice and modern. I love their spoons and how they had their utensils on the side. read more
