Reading some of the previous reviews gave me a chuckle. What do you mean it was too cold inside? You're about to stuff your face over an open fire grill. Don't want to be sweating while you're eating. Coming from highland/redlands, I am happy that there is a ayce kbbq spot in close proximity. Starting with cons: the parking is absolutely terrible. Parking spots are cramped and there's simple not enough spaces, especially during peak times. Pros: now as a long time ayce bbq lover, I understand that red castle quality is not top tier and I don't expect it to be when I go. I view red castle as an affordable joint to get my brisket and beef belly fix, which are the only two items that I basically get. It's odd reading about others experience with service, because every time I go, the service is always fast. I don't need to ask for the grill change because they are fully staffed and consistently checking in. Sure, the hospitality could improve a little but realize what you're going in there for. To stuff ya face! If you're coming here and comparing this place to other kbbq joints, you'll surely be let down. But to enjoy ayce protein for ~25 bucks without having to clean and prep a solid meal, many would realize the true gem that is Red Castle. I remember when their ayce was 13-15 bucks when they opened. Those were the days. I'm also glad that they allow single dining during the week. Not something that I'm able to take advantage of most of the time bc of work but I'm glad it's offered. Let's be honest .. this place is very MID KBBQ . The wait times are ridiculous and parking is a disaster especially on a busy street tucked close to a residential neighborhood. I wouldn't call this place BEST in the IE even if call it a place that's somewhat budget friendly in addition to a service fees and adding on the tip for service that's bare minimum. Quality of meats very fatty & poor & the ban chan (side dishes) are extremely overly saturated with sauce and Kim chi that wasn't fresh it was more on the SOUR and just disgusting in flavor , texture and color it doesn't seem Authentic if you know the difference of real Kim chi from other restaurants. Made several attempts to flag our server which seemed flustered and overwhelmed just for ordering extra meats and replenishing our beverages was such a huge in convenience. For KBBQ definitely in this order I'd say .. local restaurants I'd rather go to Wang Cho in riverside or chino hills U grille 2 spots in Rancho Cucamonga and As far as ayce self serve Koreana grille Riversde . If you wanna travel out hit up Orange County , Rowland heights , LA , SGV for the real deal . Don't let the location fool you. As a Korean, I walked in a little skeptical... but this spot actually delivered. Solid 4-star Korean BBQ. Banchan (side dishes) game was strong. Everything we tried was fresh and flavorful, and they kept it coming. Good variety of meats too, so you're not stuck ordering the same thing over and over. Only reason it's not a full 5 stars is because some of the meats came out a bit chewy and not as tender as I'd like. Not a dealbreaker, just something they could tighten up. One thing I didn't really like was the slippery floor, probably from oil spills while changing the grill. Just something to be careful about. Shoutout to our server, "Asian Juan" (or Hu-an? Lol ). We did a thang... we cheated on our favorite U-Grill and honestly, we'd do it again. Red Castle had so many options, good prices, and great service....Even the ambiance is great. The biggest difference was the variety of meats. There were way more choices than we're used to -- the curry pork belly alone was a standout. They also had a ton of sauces and some really good ones. There was a green jalapeño sauce that went so well with the steak, and even a chipotle sauce that was surprisingly good and definitely noteworthy. The banchan selection was great too. They even had tteokbokki as a banchan, which was a fun surprise. Even my boyfriend loved the banchan and he's a total banchan brat. The only thing I could even think to nitpick was that they had Pepsi Zero instead of Diet Coke... but that's honestly a stretch and definitely not a deal breaker. I'm really disappointed in this place. First of all, we got here on a Tuesday and it was already an hour wait. On top of that, the service was pretty bad. It took forever just to get a refill. I also tried to order a side of fries for my three-year-old son and was willing to pay for it separately, but they told me I couldn't unless I upgraded the entire table to the next pricing level. I asked if I could just pay for the fries on their own and the guy simply said no. To make matters worse, they automatically add a $15 service charge to your bill without really explaining what it's for. Seeing that on the bill was frustrating, so I just counted that as the tip. Amazing Korean BBQ with excellent service! Our server this time was very attentive and was happy to get larger portions of banchan for us. I ate so much kimchi and radish. This was our second time here last night. We got the C tier. I wish the steamed egg was included in the highest tier, but for all steamed egg fans, it's a separate 3.99 charge. Our favorite meat is pork belly and beef belly. I highly recommend mixing the these with the corn cheese and making little nachos or tacos using the rice paper and tortilla chips they give you. This place is our go-to for Korean bbq. They have 3 different price ranges and we tend to get the cheapest one because it has the beef belly we like so much. This time, we wanted to try the B menu but they didn't have the egg souffle which is what we wanted to feed our baby so we went back to the A menu. We fed our baby some tofu soup and potato salad while we ate the beer belly (our absolute favorite. We got 5 orders of it), marinated beef belly (delicious but chewy), thin sliced pork belly (bacon if you cook it long enough), and the garlic pork belly). They didn't have any rice paper but the salad was a healthier option anyway so we had that and rice. The service is great they were very friendly and prompt with getting our orders in. They have digital ordering systems on the table now which is great. You can order 2 items from the menu every 2 minutes. That doesn't include drinks or banchans so you still have to ask them for those and a grill change. They include a 15% service charge, which is great because you don't have to think about how much to give them but they did such a great job we had to give them an extra $5 for their hard work. The place is clean and has comfortable chairs. They are spacious seats and they even had a high chair for our baby. They plan Korean music on the tv which is fun. They actually were playing the music from Netflix's demon hunters. Avoid peak times of you don't want to wait long. We went at around 2 pm and walked right in. Very cool ambiance and helpful staff , this is my second visit and the first time was a Monday so the wait was minimal for dinner time . This time we came on a Sunday and it was pretty busy as I expected, we waited about an hour maybe less but we didn't mind as the whole experience is worth it . Their top package is 36.99 (4/19/26) and for the choices on food you get I feel is definitely an awesome deal , their marinades are delicious and their apps (included in the ayce) hit the spot , I tried their veg tempura and it was one of the best I had so far , light and crispy, bugogi ribeye is a must , short ribs , garlic pork belly and even their fries are great . Even though this is the type of place where the staff pulls tips and everyone helps everyone, i didn't feel abandoned and it was quite the opposite, all very friendly and quick to help or answer any questions newbie's like us may have . You order thru a screen and it's a bit daunting at first but you get the hang of bit quite quickly , you pick your package you want and the you're able to order 3 items at the time for a 2 hr period I believe. This was a decent Korean spot. They offered a little variety of fusion with Mexican food, but their meats were fine. Their sides were good. They do offer a variety of side items. I appreciate that the way you order is due an iPad. It just gives you more of time to look through the menu and see what you really wanna order and I'll have to wait to wave down a waitress. Change is Alfoat at Red Castle As an avid customer for the past 5 years, I've always appreciated the price point and endless KPop videos (honestly, my favorite thing to watch while eating) and it's been great. It's cheaper than competitors but you won't get as much selection. We are not surprised. I am grateful I can have a fun dinner while not breaking the bank. Depending on your server, your meats and drinks will be there in seconds or will delay a good ten minutes. I can predict if we should order as much as we can or pace ourselves due to this. On top of that, the AC and fans were blasting so hard it was freezing inside. Like, I'm trying to enjoy my food, not survive a winter storm in the middle of lunch. Stopped by Red Castle because it was on the way home and we were starving for dinner. We wanted something easy and saw that they had free menu upgrades on Mondays through Thursdays until the end of the 2024 year which sounded good enough for us last night. We opted for menu a with the complimentary upgrade to menu b. What a great treat it was to enjoy their steamed egg. I loved it as an extra protein side to the meats and banchans. Their miso soup and tofu soup were solid orders as they don't give you too much and are flavorful. I would skip the corn cheese if you're looking for a cheese pull because ours was just mainly filled with sweet corn. Service was great as they were attentive whenever I called them over and they also came to ask if we needed more meats at separate times. I did notice we had more than one server because three people checked on us so just pointing that out. Restaurant has booths as seating but it's just the casual booths so don't expect comfort here. They also have Yelp waitlist going on but you have to add your name when you get there and they don't utilize it on the app which is a bummer. We just stuck to mainly brisket and beef belly meats which was okay. The meats came apart when cooked on the grill so I could tell it was previously frozen but for the price you can't really complain. My only thing that I didn't understand was the sauce choices they give you. It wasn't bad or anything but just seemed weird. I can't remember what it was exactly.
