The restaurant was cozy and bustling, and the booth we got was quite comfortable. Fun fact, the table is very unassuming but had a drawer in front that you can pull out for straws, forks, and spoons. I appreciated Pho Ha #7 having a vegetarian section, and vegan options within. I was the only one who didn't get phơ, I ordered a #81, Bun Tau Ha Xao, which was very flavorful fried tofu with vermicelli. When Tony was here it was really good but ever since he left and the younger kids are running it, I feel like measurements are off. Soup to noodles ratio. When my son's wonton soup came out the wonton was deep fried. I went to Pho Ha and ordered the bò kho (Vietnamese beef stew). Flavor-wise? So good. The broth was rich, deeply spiced, and super comforting: warm, aromatic, and packed with that slow-stewed beef flavor that just hits. The meat itself was tender and well-cooked, and the noodles soaked up the broth perfectly. Overall, the soup was insanely tasty and flavorful, the kind you keep going back to for another spoonful. That said... I was sadly betrayed by the carrots . They only brought out the meat and noodles, and if you know bò kho, you know carrots are a staple...both culturally and flavor-wise. They add sweetness, texture, and balance to the stew. I asked them about it, and they said "one minute"... and then never came back with the carrots. I waited. And waited. And waited. Nothing. This genuinely hurt my soul a little, especially since carrots are listed on the menu and are essential to bò kho. I'm still thinking about the carrots I never got. Service-wise, it was pretty chill and lowkey--nothing rude or stressful, just relaxed. That said, they definitely forgot about the carrots entirely, which was disappointing. Ambiance-wise, the place was clean, simple, and comfortable, nothing fancy but solid and pleasant for a casual Vietnamese meal. Even with the carrot tragedy, I can't lie, the flavor of the stew carried hard. The broth alone almost made up for it. Almost. The place had ample available seating and not too many guests at the time, so I figured service would be quick. I ordered the crispy pan-fried egg noodles and the crispy fried tofu. The tofu was my favorite of the two. They were super hot and lightly golden. They weren't greasy at all. I would have preferred a different dipping sauce than what was offered though. The noodles were fine, but they didn't really have that nice wok-hay flavor I was hoping for and the amount of protein felt skimpy. Portions were moderately sized. The wait for my tofu felt long. It was around 20 minutes after everyone else's food came. My party ordered pho, and their bowls came out in like 5 minutes so it was a little awkward waiting so long. They really liked their pho though I didn't try any. They have a giant pho challenge too. If you finish their big bowl including the broth you can win a $100 gift card. Been here a few times and after a while I stopped as I felt the broth was so sweet. So after what was maybe half a year or more, I gave it another shot. The bowls have changed to metal and wider, which was an interesting look. The broth was definitely much better than what I remember and very comforting. I've been coming here for years but never thought to write a review because Pho Star Bowl was my main Riverside Pho restaurant. But now I come here more often due to proximity and Star Bowl's menu shrinking a ton. The ambiance is typical of an authentic pho place, not super clean but tidy, and with Vietnamese wait staff. They're friendly but no nonsense. This place does a lot of business thanks to its proximity to UCR so expect a busy eating experience if you come for lunch. Even ok a weekend lunch was more than half full. The pho is solid and meat portions are decent. Other non pho options have always been decent as well. They used to have some cool pho alternatives like duck noodles or "big bone noodle soup" which is exactly what it sounds like, but alas, the new menu doesn't seem to have them. Still way more options than Pho Star Bowl though! read more

After a Yelp event in Riverside, a dear friend and I drove across the street to Pho Ha #7 for a light dinner snack. Pho Ha is a restaurant chain, but mostly owned by different people. I've been to a few of them in So Cal. My first time at this location. Free parking is available behind the restaurant. Wow, inside is quite spacious and bright. We were seated right away upon entry. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Thank you! We got an order of half shrimp spring roll (2) and half pork spring roll (2) which costs a little bit more compared to getting a full order of shrimp rolls (4) or pork rolls (4). We also got one grilled pork, meat loaf, and shredded pork rice plate with an add on of crispy shrimp wrapped in tofu skin to share. Btw, extra cost for add ons. Rice dish was very good, however, the rice used was not the broken rice... it was just regular white rice. All the meats were delicious. Vegetables were fresh. Portion was adequate. I liked the shrimp rolls better than the pork rolls. You get 4 halves of shrimp which means two whole shrimps. Dipping sauce for the rolls wasn't too bad, but I've had better. Color of the pork was too reddish pink that just didn't look right. It didn't taste entirely right either. I will not get the pork rolls again. Anyway, my overall dining experience was wonderful especially in good company with my friend. Next time when I'm in the Riverside area, I'll have to try their Pho. Thanks Pho Ha #7! read more

We've been here many times before and something has changed. The menu is reduced, but that's not a bad thing. We got shrimp spring rolls and they had no taste. Not of shrimp, nor vegetables. The sauce was sad and pretty tasteless. We ordered 2 pork bahn min and they were not good. Plenty of meat but without much flavor. The rolls were fresh. Almost no carrots or cucumbers or other fresh veg that give these sandwiches that lovely crunch texture with the softness of the bread. Very little flavor, dry, and no seasoning. My table mate asked for more mayo because her sandwich was too dry and the waiter got off his phone and brought over what he called "mayonnaise butter". It looked like pale sludge, sort of like tallow. My sandwich was also dry but I wasn't putting that on mine. It didn't look good at all. She said it wasn't nice. Husband's pho wasn't bad, he said, but again, no real flavor. And the store is dirty. The napkin dispenser on our table was grossly dirty, the metal spoon holder was dried drippy dirty. The tables are covered with peeling contact paper, making things look very shabby. The succulent displays at the table are covered in thick dust, even on the wooden edging around the displays. I think no one is cleaning the front of house at the end of shift, ever. And that worries me even more for back of house, a lot. Sadly, this has gone from our favorite Vietnamese place to somewhere we won't go again. So...where are we all going for good Vietnamese food in a clean store? read more

We come here most mornings for coffee, and at this point it's just part of our routine. The food is always really good -the pho broth is super flavorful and smells amazing, and the egg rolls are honestly some of our favorites. It's usually pretty busy, but in a good way. Feels lively and welcoming every time we walk in. The main reason we keep coming back though is the service. Bill is awesome. He recognizes us right away and pretty much knows what we're going to order before we even say anything. He's always friendly, quick, and just makes the whole experience easy and comfortable. If you're craving a bowl of pho this is my go to spot. I ordered the beef rib pho with meatballs and it was delicious make sure you add their chili oil for the extra kick and if spicy is not your thing it's perfect by itself. Also you have to try the coconut iced coffee it was delicious and full of caffeine! The service was very nice we got to the restaurant at 7 pm on a Friday,so it was full with people and the wait was not too bad maybe around 5-10 minutes and then we were seated.
