I've been to this place 3 times and I won't be coming back, idk what happened but this place went downhill QUICK and it's actually super unfortunate. -some toppings were out: no egg, corn (the main things I wanted) -some fountain drinks were unavailable and person at register said they're also out of ice for drinks -no bartender the one time I wanted a beer with my ramen -very understaffed, it wasn't packed there was about 4 people ahead of me in line and it took a long time to order and get my food (I've been in a much longer line here before where it was understandable the amount of time it was taking) -service wasn't friendly at the cash register, the person up there seemed bothered to be working and was forgetful and not helpful -I love spicy food or adding spice to any food and the "just right" level is spicy! The "to go" packaging changed from broth in a separate container from the toppings + noodles to one container separating the broth and toppings. This results in people getting literally HALF of the broth they would get if they ordered to dine in. It got to the point that I began asking if they can put my broth in the original container, and got told no most times and yes like one time ( shout out guy who said yes that one time ) If I want it in the original container I have to either over explain why I want it this way or get told straight out "no" and have to eat inside this joint when I didn't want to. I don't know if it's because that original container is more expensive or if the owner is instructing the cooks to not fill that bowl as they should but let's figure it out please! On my search for the best Ramen in the Riverside/i.e. area. Another spot I found which had fairly positive reviews so I decided to give it a shot! Customer service was "meeeh"walking in the server asked if we are ready. I let her know we weren't and then she said just ring the bell when you're ready which to me as a first time not really a lot of explanation no warm greeting things that I definitely look forward to seeing in customer service. Would go because it's close by and is 24 hour. Last weekend a couple of friends and our brother went to grab some around midnight. My brother wanted to get a drink because it was going to be a wait and they told him they were closed for the night. My friend and I were using the restroom and when walking by we could clearly see they were still serving drinks. We were all in pjs coming from home so I'm not sure if they assumed anyone was drinking prior. Either management needs to inform the servers or the server was rude and unprofessional. This may be the bottom three Ramen shops I've ever visited. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen (pronounced ton-koh-tsu). The noodles tasted like they were frozen, not fresh, and they were overcooked. There was not very much depth in the broth and it was very much watered down with very little tare to season the broth. The egg was actually great and the chashu was about average. I was still hungry afterwards from how small it was. All this for nearly 30 dollars a bowl and ask for a tip. I never paid so much for ramen. But my experience yesterday around 6:30 p.m. was completely different because of one employee. When I went to pay, I tried using cash. This time, as I reached for some napkins, she literally yelled, "No, no, no! I'll grab it for you! What are you touching? What do you need?" I told her I was just grabbing napkins, and then she said, "I don't know why the cooks plated it like this. I'll just bring it to you." I was honestly so confused. Why was she so rude? There isn't any sign saying customers can't grab utensils or napkins from the pickup area, and I've never been treated like that before. I live nearby and come here often, so this really stood out.
