    Steak Bento Box
    Elizabeth M.

Been to this place a couple times, the service here is good when it's not busy, but when it's busy, the food can take a while. I recommend not coming here during lunch hours, when there's less people I ordered the steak bento box, which I thought was delicious. Their rolls are pretty good as well.

Still give this place 5 out of 5! Everything was delicious, tasty fresh sushi. My husband got the premium hibachi with filet mignon, chicken spicy noodles, fried rice and veggies. The meat was tender, so flavored. I ordered fancy sushi roll and it had spicy crab ontop with fried tempura shrimp with tuna and salmon oh my, delicious! I recommend! We also tried the aguachiles tuna and torched salmon.my husband loved the torched tuna. Service was awesome! Hardly anyone else pry two tables it was a tuesday so good gor us, nice view. Ambiance was fun, g good was fresh i highly recommend i will be back. We also ordered watermelon Martini and cucumber Martini both good, cucumber had tajin on the rim it was good! My husband really enjoyed his watermelon Martini it was very refreshing .

A delicious find in downtown Riverside. Japanese cherry blossom accents inside as far as the interior decor and a great menu with sushi and hibachi favorites. They have their own rolls and all the standard dishes you might expect in a generalized Japanese restaurant and excellent service.

Meal combo. NY strip, scallops & fried rice. Lobster roll. & aguachiles.

Went here since the restaurant across the street did last call 1 hour before closing. Showed up the area looks extremely nice & really clean. Upon ordering I got the aguachiles & it tasted amazing. I followed up by ordering the meal with noodles, rice (upgraded to fried), ny steak & scallops. Ordered medium rare, came back well done. The server was extremely nice & didn't bother arguing. The noodles were super sweet with no other flavor. The fried rice had bad texture & only tasted like soy sauce. The steak was tough, possibly a choice cut but definitely not prime. Recooked to medium. The lobster roll was told to be baked & warmed, it came completely cold. I don't recommend their lobster roll. They have a great selection of drinks including alcohol and japanese beverages. The design is great, the Asian worker & male server were great. There was a Hispanic female worker who ignored me when I asked for salt & kept ignoring me when I walked by. She was possibly making the sushi rolls to be specific. If you're looking for a comparison Benihanas is a 8/10 while this place being 3/10. No authentic hibachi japanese taste besides the plate layout. The right management could definitely change this place up and make it a success but continuing the way it is ... I don't see a great future for the place unless it's meant to be something other than a successful restaurant that sells great food.

We love coming here for a nice Hibachi and Sushi date! The vibes are always so fun in here and I love the Japanese Cherry Blossom trees that give so much life to the place! Our server, Maddy was SUPER helpful in answering our questions and had wonderful suggestions about which foods to try! Their Miso Soup and salad were soooo delicious! My boyfriend got the chicken and shrimp hibachi with steamed rice and I tried out the AMP Roll. Both were really flavorful and super delicious!! The service was pretty fast (it wasn't super busy) and everyone was helping out to make sure we had refills and all our empty plates were picked up! As a tip, there's a nice parking garage on the backside of this restaurant which makes for a great place to park, especially if you plan on walking around downtown!

    Sapporo on draft
    Alan K.

Although it wasn't the typical Teppenyaki experience, I did get to see the chef actually cook my meats which was awesome. The Sapporo was spot on! I ordered a combination of hibachi meats including steak, chicken, shrimp, and fried rice with noodles. The meats were cooked fresh, but the deduction of stars came from the stale vegetables and fried rice that was made in advance. For how much I am paying for my meal, all the food should be prepared fresh/when ordered. The noodles were terrible and honestly if I had to do it all over again, I'd ask them to not include the soy sauce drowned noodles.

Spicy tuna roll with pieces of hard rice
    Gina L.

2 years later and I tried this place again... I so wish I could give them a better rating, but when my sushi has hard pieces of rice in it and I have to ask the server for Srirach not one, not two, but three times. And it's not busy in the restaurant. Then think I just don't need to come here again. Additionally, I don't understand why this place is adding a 3% surcharge instead of just raising the prices on their items. Anyways, with that 3% surcharge I don't think that I will be coming back for this type of service and food.

The food was delicious. We ordered hibachi dinner and rolls. La Nina roll was spicy yet delicious. The philly and cali rolls were also popular with kids. The lychee martini was amazing! Sweet and amazing! They were kinda late bringing out one of the food items. We had to remind them to bring it out. Everyone was fill by the time the food item came out which was kinda sad but its okay. Parking can be limited as it is in downtown riverside and there was a fair. The parking structure nearby had a flat rate which seemed high for someone not spending the day there.

Guest service is amazing. Very friendly and welcoming. It's a great place to eat it's very relaxing no loud music very mellow. And the food is exquisite. We tried the AMP roll and the dragon roll. Both were delicious definitely will be coming back.

La Niña Roll - love the flavor that comes through from the just the slightest bit of char given to the torched fish on top

It's a pretty quiet lunch spot right in downtown. My husband and I have stopped in here a couple of times now, during the week, for lunch. The service and food have both been so good! We've been greeted at the door by friendly staff, it hasn't been too busy, and we're able to sit where we'd like. They take our order right away, the food comes out quickly, and it's all been excellent. Both times we've order an app or two, and 2-3 rolls. Everything is beautifully presented and we've loved all of the flavor combinations. It's not the least expensive sushi spot, but it's worth it.

Cute for a date night! The sushi gives a a fusion of Mexican flavor hence the name. It's perfect before hitting the bar scene in downtown.

Music was playing at a good level. Menu features lots of options. Some of us were craving sushi and the other half had bowls (beef bulgogi, spicy pork bowl, orange chicken). Our meals were served around the same time and waiters regularly checked on our refills and if we needed anything. At one point, music turned loud and lights flashed, to celebrate someone's bday so something to be aware of that they do. Overall, our dining experience was satisfying. I was a big fan of the salmon carpaccio and the super sexy bowl. The fish tasted fresh and portions are large so you get your moneys worth. My companion did mention that their bulgogi had more onion than meat which was visibly notable. Definitely aim to visit again and will recommend this spot to others.

My first experience at this establishment was not a pleasant one and not one that would convince me to come back.
