absolutely not. my partner and i had a reservation at this spot, reception was rude and simply pointed at our table to direct us there rather than walking us over. we ordered 2 drinks and waited 20 minutes for them to be served. when our order was finally taken we ordered a ny steak roll and la niña roll. 30 minutes later the steak roll comes out, with pieces of unchewable uncooked fat attached. about 20 minutes after that, the woman waiting our table, who appeared to be a manager or owner, let us know the fish for our other roll was out of stock, so we asked to cancel our order and pay. she stated the roll was already made and would be comped, we could just choose a substitute fish. we said we didnt want it but she wouldnt take no for an answer, so rather than arguing we opted for spicy tuna. despite her claim that our roll was already prepared, we proceeded to wait another 25 minutes for our second roll to come out. when we received it, it triggered both of our gag reflexes and we couldnt even finish it. disgusting. the cherry on top was being given dirty napkins that had food already on them. when i asked for new napkins, the woman serving us walked behind the counter, came back out eating with her fingers in/touching her mouth and handed us new napkins with the same hand. no hand washing or hand sanitizer in sight. horrible service, nasty ass food, and 2 hours later we were still hungry. we both agreed it was the worst dining experience we had ever had. $60 for some absolute bs. read more

The meat was tender, so flavored. I ordered fancy sushi roll and it had spicy crab ontop with fried tempura shrimp with tuna and salmon oh my, delicious! I recommend! Went here since the restaurant across the street did last call 1 hour before closing. Showed up the area looks extremely nice & really clean. Upon ordering I got the aguachiles & it tasted amazing. I followed up by ordering the meal with noodles, rice (upgraded to fried), ny steak & scallops. Ordered medium rare, came back well done. The server was extremely nice & didn't bother arguing. The noodles were super sweet with no other flavor. The fried rice had bad texture & only tasted like soy sauce. The steak was tough, possibly a choice cut but definitely not prime. Recooked to medium. The lobster roll was told to be baked & warmed, it came completely cold. I don't recommend their lobster roll. They have a great selection of drinks including alcohol and japanese beverages. The design is great, the Asian worker & male server were great. There was a Hispanic female worker who ignored me when I asked for salt & kept ignoring me when I walked by. She was possibly making the sushi rolls to be specific. If you're looking for a comparison Benihanas is a 8/10 while this place being 3/10. No authentic hibachi japanese taste besides the plate layout. The right management could definitely change this place up and make it a success but continuing the way it is ... We love coming here for a nice Hibachi and Sushi date! The vibes are always so fun in here and I love the Japanese Cherry Blossom trees that give so much life to the place! Our server, Maddy was SUPER helpful in answering our questions and had wonderful suggestions about which foods to try! Their Miso Soup and salad were soooo delicious! My boyfriend got the chicken and shrimp hibachi with steamed rice and I tried out the AMP Roll. Both were really flavorful and super delicious!! The service was pretty fast (it wasn't super busy) and everyone was helping out to make sure we had refills and all our empty plates were picked up! Although it wasn't the typical Teppenyaki experience, I did get to see the chef actually cook my meats which was awesome. The Sapporo was spot on! I ordered a combination of hibachi meats including steak, chicken, shrimp, and fried rice with noodles. The meats were cooked fresh, but the deduction of stars came from the stale vegetables and fried rice that was made in advance. For how much I am paying for my meal, all the food should be prepared fresh/when ordered. I so wish I could give them a better rating, but when my sushi has hard pieces of rice in it and I have to ask the server for Srirach not one, not two, but three times. And it's not busy in the restaurant. Then think I just don't need to come here again. Additionally, I don't understand why this place is adding a 3% surcharge instead of just raising the prices on their items. It's a pretty quiet lunch spot right in downtown. My husband and I have stopped in here a couple of times now, during the week, for lunch. The service and food have both been so good! We've been greeted at the door by friendly staff, it hasn't been too busy, and we're able to sit where we'd like. They take our order right away, the food comes out quickly, and it's all been excellent. Both times we've order an app or two, and 2-3 rolls. The Aguachiles here are so phenomenal that we ordered another plate of it! They are the classic Jalisco style with the perfect amount of kick!We genuinely enjoyed all of our sushi dishes here too! The fish tasted fresh and the rolls were not heavy with rice. My husband enjoyed the Tokyo margarita as well! They have various drinks that were delicious. I really value service in restaurants and seeing the owner/manager working with his crew and checking in with guest is a green flag for me! On this visit we dined Al fresco on a the sunny day with crisp bite of chill from the snow capped mountains afar. Ordered Drinks, Rolls, Shrimp Fried Rice, Steak plate and Edamame. Drinks were really good! I was impressed. Rolls were delicious, Edamame had good flavor. Mishap with shrimp fried rice is they left the tails on the shrimp and the steak plate the steak was over cooked and the noodles had some kind of sauce on them that made them really sweet. A newer place that opened up recently in Downtown Riverside, Fuego Hibachi is straight up fire! It's located in a good spot, and gets a lot of foot traffic. We were able to get in on a Sunday afternoon without a reservation. They weren't too busy when we arrived, and we were greeted and seated promptly at the bar. The food options are awesome! Think of it as a better version of that one place that starts with a "B," but with better prices, lol. They have a nice selection of alcohol drinks, too. The Soju Paloma and the Panda Panda Mojito were yummy!! I wanted to keep the panda mug! We ordered the Filet Mignon with Shrimp and upgraded to Fried Rice for an extra $3. The Jefe Roll and Spicy Garlic Edamame tasted as good as they looked!! I like how the Filet was cooked to a perfect medium, and the shrimp weren't overcooked, either. The portions are a good size, and I had enough to doggy bag a second meal for myself. We killed the sushi and edamame! It's been about 3 months since our visit, but I'd definitely go again and highly recommend it. The service was wonderful, with friendly employees and the food is mouthwatering! I'd suggest making a reservation during busier times, as it isn't huge inside (although they do offer outside seating).
