What amazing prices to go from stop! I love their luv luv roll and can't not get some nigiri. Plenty of chopsticks, soy sauce, and ginger. The food stayed fresh in my bag even me having a little commute back home. If you can definitely enjoy their AYCE but if you can't, no worries. I think their to go prices are perfect!

Sushi Asahi has great deals on Grub Hub. Buy one get one! I couldn't skip out on the awesome deal. When I got there to pick up my order, it wasn't even a second later that I was greeted and confirmed my order! I love that kind of service. The space was nice, although I got my food to go. I got their baked mussels, yum!!! I can eat 4 orders of there's. I also ordered their rainbow roll and their crunch roll. Both were just okay, but I'm find with that. All in all, very delicious and I'd order from them again.

I gotta tell you... I really liked this place Took my son to take care of the all you can eat and it really was good. Price is good and the quality of the sushi is solid. Don't go ready to eat, what I will day is you will wait a little while BUT it because they were busy, I went in today on a Monday 12pm. Service was kind so it wasn't bad. I will come back for sure

AYCE sushi is a great deal. We had a party of 5 and they made room for us with little wait. They have a Jen Jen roll thought that was cool because that's my name. All of the rolls were fresh and flavorful Service was attentive. Loud atmosphere due to the small space.

Back After 10 Years -- Did It Still Hold Up? I used to eat at Sushi Asahi - Riverside every Friday for lunch, so after nearly 10 years, I was genuinely excited to return while I was back in the area. We arrived just after the lunch rush and initially found plenty of open tables, which made for a relaxed start to our AYCE sushi experience. The ambiance was good: Lots of seating outside as well. Ordering on your phone was also easier to keep track of what we ordered and still had coming. We kicked things off strong with the Baked Mussels, Diablo and Volcano roll and the limited-to-one-order-per-person carpaccios. As the restaurant filled up, the energy picked up and so did the wait times between rounds. Pretty typical for a busy all-you-can-eat spot, but worth noting if you come during peak hours. Once we moved into the nigiri portion, we both felt the fish quality dipped slightly compared to the opening rounds. Nothing bad at all -- just not quite on the higher end of sushi we've had recently. Of course, that didn't stop us from ordering six more rolls... which officially did us in. We managed to narrow it down to five pieces of Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna and Salmon before finally tapping out. Elite Tip: If your party has fewer than six leftover pieces total, they'll let you take them home without an extra charge -- a clutch move when AYCE ambition exceeds stomach capacity. Overall, it felt like revisiting an old favorite -- nostalgic, satisfying, and still a solid option when the sushi craving hits. Glad we made the return visit after all these years.

Awesome service by all the staff here! Wonderful welcome and attentiveness during our visit. Delicious sushi selections. Ayce (all you can eat) option is $35.99 per person. Definitely worth it. Apps, rolls, and everything in between is included with the ayce menu. We indulged in some no rice, tempura, baked, fried and fresh rolls and apps. Luv the large selection of no rice options. So fresh! Scan the QR code to place your order. Rolls are categorized just as shown on physical menus provided at your table. Take a look at the pictures to see what each roll looks like. Once you've made your selections and quantity of each, send your order and it'll come out shortly. After ordering a few rolls we had to wait a few minutes before ordering a second round. Try as much as you want. They've got the games on and music playing inside. Luvd the music selections playing. It's a joyous occasion for ayce sushi. Shaded patio seating also available. Large lot right in front with neighboring shops. Next to daily brew coffee shop and near the van buren drive in theater. A must visit!

Delicious rolls Great server Aey The service is amazing and so is the sushi. I love the consistency, thank you

It was our first time here at Sushi Asahi and it will definitely be one of our top places to visit! We came here for my hubby's birthday and our waitress AEY was super friendly, knowledgeable, and gave good recommendations. She was absolutely fun and provided good service. Her bubbly personality made our dining experience quite memorable and pleasureable. I love how they turn the lights off and play fun music while bringing out a slice of cheesecake for my hubby. Top notch service for sure! We came here for their $29.99 weekday AYCE lunch special and it was so worth it. Sushi comes in 2 pieces and Rolls comes in 4. My favorites included the spicy tuna with crispy rice, yellow tail carpaccio, rainbow roll, and their large fried shrimp. I also ordered the honeymoon roll which actually had no rice which was good as I am watching my carb count. Basically, each round of orders are made fresh and you can order another round after 10 minutes. What I like about this place is there is no limit to rounds so that was nice. Their gyoza was lightly fried and delicious. We got the calamari but it wasn't as good as the other dishes. My hubby likes the karaage and katsu but I feel like the sauce was too much. Next time I will ask for sauce on the side. I was quite thorougly surpised at how light and tasty the mango avocado salad was. Overall, great memorable experience thanks to AEY. I hope she will be our waitress next time we visit! This restaurant is located in the Albertson plaza and next to Daily Brew Coffee house! Plenty of parking in the front and it also has a Yelp waitlist so thats convenient!

First time eating here, went for the AYCE on the weekend for lunch time. During the week, it's $30 a person and $35 for dinner, but $35 all day on the weekends. The restaurant is pretty open-spaced with lots of tables which are pretty close together. TVs for viewing and they have physical menus with a QR code you can scan and order on your phone and they will bring it you, which is pretty cool. They have lots of fresh roll options which unique combinations and classic rolls you would expect. They also have Nigiri, but my only complaint would be that the Nigiri's are packed with rice and that means the fish to rice ratio is off (it's mostly rice). Besides that, the fish is flavorful and tastes very fresh and for $35, is an amazing price! They also have plenty of appetizers like Calamari and shrimp which were pretty good. The service was fast and easy, but they do limit the carpaccio to one order per person. I saw reviews complaining about the service but we came when it was packed and did not have any problems. Lastly, the restaurant is located in a big plaza with plenty of parking and next door to Albertsons so parking was quick and easy and it was nice to stop by the market after. Overall, a great and quite reasonably priced AYCE spot, will be back!

My first experience at this establishment was not a pleasant one and not one that would convince me to come back. SAME RESTAURANT AS TAIYO'S SUSHI & POKI…read more We were heading back from Joshua Tree to OC and got immense cravings for something soupy. It was either eat in Riverside or wait one more hour and have a late night dinner. We decided to eat in Riverside despite knowing their limited soup options so we wouldn't have to eat too late. We got to the spot around 8:30ish but we couldn't find a place that was labelled Shabu Garden so we circled around for a couple of minutes before realizing that Taiyo's Sushi & Poki was what we were looking for. Not sure why they have different names, but it looks like they're under new ownership so I guess they haven't had the chance to change their name? On Sunday evenings, they close at 9:30pm, so I honestly wasn't sure they were going to accept us. Luckily for us, they still accepted our walk-in and we were seated promptly. They have 3 AYCE options: AYCE shabu, AYCE sushi, AYCE sushi & shabu, and they also have a premium option of AYCE sashimi. The prices seemed quite reasonable for sushi and hot pot at $41.99 but considering the time that we had until the last call (9PM), we just opted for the shabu and ordered as many meats as we could. The servers were extremely attentive knowing that we didn't have much time until the last call so they brought out a total of 3 rounds of meat. The owner or the manager (couldn't tell) graciously offered to freshly fry any shrimp tempura that we wanted, and we were so grateful for that. Just note that there are only 3 types of broth to choose from: original, spicy, miso They have a buffet section for the veggies, noodles, and seafood. The selection is decent. They had my usual favorites like spinach, mushrooms, napa cabbage, clams, and they even had crab. The hot foods section consisted of fried foods such as fried calamari, fried shrimp tempura, etc. I can't say too much about the buffet section since we arrived there late, but we basically cleaned up majority of it. Meats were decent. No wagyu for sure. There's not a lot of selection but for the price you're paying ($31.99/pp), I'm not complaining. I'd say the pricing and value you get from this spot matches with the quality of food provided. If it were pricier, than I would prefer just getting my shabu fix in OC. The next time we're in the area, we hope to try the AYCE shabu + sushi option.
