Some of my friends and I came here for a quick bite after work. We ordered at the counter and then they gave us a number to take to our table. I really liked that their menu had so many pictures because it made ordering that much easier! We sat outside and the waiter brought our food out for us. There was music playing but pleasant and not too loud. The bathroom was clean and well maintained! I ended up getting the brisket quesadilla and it was delicious! I loved that they crisped up the cheese on the outside to give it a nice crunch when you bite into it! It was gooey on the inside, the meet was cooked very nicely and was juicy, and with that crispy exterior, it was all things a good quesadilla should be! I also got a mango margarita which had nice mango flavor but i couldn't taste any alcohol. they were offering free refills during happy hour so perhaps that was why. Stopped by for lunch with my husband. we decided to take his grandfather here because he's very picky and likes certain foods so we decided on smoke and fire social eatery because they have BBQ which he loves! The cabbage Cole slaw that garnished the tacos complimented the fatty brisket really well and the sauce in the tacos I can't temper what it was but it tasted like a Smokey chipotle sauce it was definitely a 10/10. My husband ordered the chicken strips over Mac and cheese and I tried his dish and the chicken strips were fried very well and their Mac and cheese is the best we have had in a while. Today is Labor Day, 9/1/25 and my little family was out and about at the Canyon Crest Town Center in Riverside. My husband wanted to try this place so we stopped by. Upon entering, it was more dark than lit, so it produced a chill vibe. There were plenty of tables available, plus outdoor seating (too hot outside, though). You go straight to the menu TVs and wait for the cashier to take your order. We ordered the 1/2 lb brisket meal, the 1lb brisket meal, the brisket tacos, a side of white rice and a side of fries and a drink plus 3 water cups. We were given a free cornbread for stopping by. The food came out quickly even though there was a steady flow of customers. We added salt to our liking, but the brisket was good! I had the tacos and they were exceptional! The cornbread was good. Overall, our meal cost $72, including a 3% service fee. When you're done with your meal you empty your own trays in the trash receptacle and stack them up. read more

The brisket was cooked perfectly. Great flavor. Tender. Rendered fat perfectly. I'd say this was done right. The accoutrements were also good. Buttery bread, a nice fresh coleslaw. What is it about this bread that makes it so perfect for BBQ? Mac and cheese was pretty standard. Nothing really stood out. Inside was standard, clean with alot of tables. Coca Cola fountain drinks. Villain Brewery items, definitely worth a shot if I was dining in. Several tables outside. I would put Smoke & Fire up with decent BBQ at a good price. $26/lb for brisket is pretty standard for real BBQ spots. This was our first visit to the Canyon Crest location, though we had been to the Anaheim spot about three years ago. We were craving lunch and decided to check out Smoke & Fire. To our surprise, it wasn't too busy, which was great. Parking in this complex can be tricky, but we lucked out with a spot right up front. The restaurant has two walk-in entrances, making access convenient. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and assisted right away. This is a counter-service restaurant, so you order first and then find a seat. The lighting is on the dimmer side, creating a relaxed atmosphere that stays fairly quiet depending on how many guests are dining. It was tough to choose what to order--everything on the menu looked great! We finally decided on the Nashville Chicken Fries and Brisket Tacos, and added a side of mac and cheese. We weren't overly hungry, but the portions were generous--especially the fries. As for the food: the coleslaw on the chicken fries was just the right touch, and the waffle fries had a nice balance of flavor and texture. The brisket tacos were the real standout--absolutely amazing. The brisket was perfectly smoked, and paired beautifully with the coleslaw and cilantro. The mac and cheese was also rich and flavorful, a great complement to the rest of the meal. Overall, we'll definitely be back--though next time we'll probably order a little less since we had plenty of leftovers to take home. I've been here several times before and I believe I even left a five-star review for this place previously. It's been a while since I've been back since we moved and something has changed. We were super excited to come back to celebrate since we remembered this place with only good thoughts and were in the area. There are different items on the menu so we decided to try the burger waffle fries and the bbq bowls. It was just not good. The burger waffle fries were okay but the bowls were just not good. I was very disappointed, especially given how 3 bowls and the waffle fries came out to just under $100. And the bowls were fairly small as well. The Mac n cheese in the bowls just wasn't...cheesy and/or tasty...and I'm not even sure how to properly describe the the pickled veggies but the taste and smell of them grossed me out. So something about their pickling process is off. The cashier ringing us up seemed bored and it felt like we were a nuisance to her somehow. She didn't seem friendly and just quickly kept saying "uh-huh" as we were ordering, making us feel rushed. When I asked for to-go lids, I filled up my water while waiting for her. Then I noticed she was walking around cleaning up and started wondering when she was going to bring the lids since it had seem like she walked off to grab them immediately after I asked. I eventually found that she had just set them on the counter without saying anything and expected me to just find them on my own I guess. Inside is always cold, which is nice on a hot day. We sat outside though since it had cooled off. Unfortunately all the tables outside were dirty except for one. That one table was probably clean because no one can sit there. It was so unstable we almost lost our drinks just trying to sit down, so we had to clean our own table and chairs at a different table. I can't express how sad and disappointed we were with everything: the food, the service, the cleanliness...just such a stark contrast to how we remember it being. read more

I used to come often a few years ago and some things have changed. Parking is easy to get, but it is a very busy shopping center. The outside looking in, it looks bougie. There is a prominent sign of the eatery and red doors for the entrance. The eatery has a huge dining area, with dark but dim lighting and a lit up menu. It looks like higher end dining, nice and causal. There were not many people inside, but there was always someone coming and going. In the past, I've tried the brisket fries, hot chicken fries, and brisket Mac and cheese. I decided to order the hot sando with waffle fries. Fries are separate. Cashier asked me what heat level I would want and if I was dining in or to go. I said medium and dine in. Total was reasonable, $21 with some change. My order took around 15 minutes to be ready. The cashier served my friend and I. She didn't bother to check in again after that. When I took a bite out of my sandwich, I realized it was not hot at all, (in regard to heat level). It tasted bland. It tasted like a basic chicken sandwich. I also noticed the chicken was not cooked all the way through. It was still cold in the middle. I was disappointed. Since it is a Wednesday evening, the drive in was relaxed. Upon approaching the menu, I'm a dog person, I immediately caught the pupper in the corner on the menu. Again, first time here so I didn't know they were pet friendly. While reviewing the menu, the people at the front were welcoming and answered a lot of our questions. You walk in and it's order before sitting down which in my opinion is weird and makes a lot of people feel rushed to order. Thank goodness we looked online before hand. My husband and I wanted to try their mac rib sandwich but unfortunately they have discontinued the mac rib and the beef rib all together. So my husband opted for the Stockberger which is pretty much the mac rib without the beef rib. It's about $24 for the sandwich only it comes with no sides. Most of their sides cost around $5 bucks. I opted for the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich It's about $12.99 and I got a side of mac for $5 The cup of mac is quite small. We also got some beer on tap. The beers were pretty solid one was $7 bucks and the other was $8. Service was good Employees were friendly. Place is well maintained. Now, the food was ok but nothing to write home about. Especially when they're pics look 200 times better than what you get served. We just weren't impressed. Overall it's an ok spot if your into mid BBQ.
