My family and I came to Bushfire Kitchen for dinner tonight and had a great experience from start to finish. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and the customer service was fantastic. We ordered a kids chicken tenders and fries plate, which was perfect for our son. For the adults, we had the surf and turf plate with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts, as well as the El Fuego burger with fries.Both were delicious and cooked really well. We also tried a few extras including the mac and cheese, a beef empanada, a blueberry and cream empanada, and a chocolate chip cookie. Honestly, everything was so good. The mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful, and both empanadas were a standout, especially the blueberry and cream for a sweet treat after our meal. For drinks, I had the house white sangria and their seasonal lavender hibiscus lemonade, which was super refreshing and a perfect pairing with the meal. I ended up trying the veggie plate that comes with two sides of choice (mac n cheese and roasted cauliflower) and a veggie empanada. If you are a raw vegetarian or vegan this plate might be great for you but I feel that it lacked substance. There was definitely something missing. Everything was just okay. Not good, not bad, but also not really worth the hype. I'm giving 4 stars because everything else was amazing! I like the inside/outside seating and how attentive the workers are. Never heard of this spot before! Bushfire Kitchen focuses on healthy, protein-based meals. In my opinion, the prices are a bit steep. Don't get me wrong the portions are solid but for Riverside, I think they could be a bit more reasonable. Its giving LA prices! Services was prompt but we did wait for the steak. I had the chicken, and my partner had the steak plate. The yellow sauce was okay, but the real star of the show is the chimichurri. It's packed with flavor, and I definitely preferred it with the steak over the chicken. The setup of the place feels a bit off. When you walk in, it has a Blaze Pizza-style concept where you build your own bowl or plate. They also offer natural sodas, which I personally wasn't a fan of. I wouldn't say the vibe is off-putting, but it does feel like it's missing a bit of warmth. Parking is easy and accessible. The food seemed schizophrenic, the Internet said the food was American, but then they had seasonal Japanese menu, and they had empanadas which seemed latin and then they had vegetarian food, but also had burgers and steaks, it was a bit confusing. I paid 15$ o and only got a small sandwich, no sides included and my BF said the rice in his thai dish was very gummy. I don't think we'll be going back. I've been wanting to check this place out for forever now. Healthy, protein-centered plates and bowls that can be made low carb? Hell yes! I finally made the trip and was a little underwhelmed. The prices were okay, better if you take advantage of their email deals. I didn't like how so many things came out lukewarm, the salmon being the worst offender. The Korean cauliflower was wet and soggy, the empanada was hot but stale and not crispy, and the mashed potatoes and squash were underseasoned too. For the prices, I would want the impression that the food is made fresh, and I felt rather that it was all haphazardly thrown together. The seasoned fries were surprisingly the best. They were crispy, hot, salty, and generously portioned. It was still a good meal overall. I didn't try the BBQ chicken but it was apparently quite good and tender. The restaurant interior is a little weird, not a very welcoming atmosphere. The bathrooms in particular annoyed me because there were no paper towels to open the two doors out of the bathroom after washing your hands. read more

I came here a few months ago and it was great. I returned this evening excitedly to try a different item. Once I entered the restaurant, the cashier looked at me. I approached the front and she proceeded to just looked me. I was the one who greeted her and said, "Hi." Then, she continued looking at me. I thought whatever, maybe she's having a long night. As she took my order I had the feeling like she did not want to be at work. Full of attitude. Still gave a tip because, who wants to be working on a Saturday evening, right?! She took my name and I sat down which signaled to me that my name would be called when ready to go. I sat patiently as multiple (5+) patrons were served before me. One of the patrons, a duo of police officers. So I thought to myself, no worries, serving the police before me, I get it. I kept looking at my watch every 5 minutes. I'm thinking, oooh freshly prepared. My order was placed at 5:42pm. I finally get up at approximately 6:10pm. Still no one acknowledges me. Finally, the server who walked past me at least 5 times asks, "Are you waiting for something?" After a brief exchange he grabs my food that has been sitting the whole time! I immediately break open the seal and the food looked terrible. Everything cold. The steak looked this pale brown grayish like it was microwaved. (Which I know it isn't, the point is it was sitting for so long) Obviously I'm furious at this point so I get the manager and he asks if I want the food prepared again lol. I appreciated the gesture but I needed to get home. The manager went on the computer and issued a refund, which was appreciated. I went home and had to microwave the food. In all honesty the food, objectively, could have been good. But due to my experience, the food tasted awful. This could have been avoided if their employees were in the least bit attentive. No, I did not yell or treat anyone disrespectfully. Other patrons even noticed as many others were served before me. I'm not playing the victim, but it felt bad to be looked past or not even greeted once while in the restaurant. Not sure if Bushfire is a chain or independently owned, but as someone who works in management, I have one piece of advice: ensure all employees greet anyone who walks through the door and treat them with respect. I'm sure this is an obvious practice, but it was missed on me. This is a very raw review, so I don't know if I'll return to this restaurant, but hopefully they do better in the future. read more

I've tried the tri tip, chicken breast, and burger and all have been good. The entire prices are reasonable for the quality but I wish the burgers came with a side for the price. My favorite sides are the Brussels sprouts and Korean cauliflower. Ambiance has always been good. The cute courtyard and outdoor seating have always been a hit. Inside is simple with a couple TVs. Nice menu options from bowls, salads and sandwiches. I opted for a tri tip sandwich and grandmas mac & cheese cuz.. I luv it. Penne pasta in a thickened cream sauce with a baked Parmesan, panko topping to add some texture it was rather tasty. More of a baked pasta than ooey gooey. It had a nice hint of nutmeg to cut through the richness. The tri tip made me exclaim out loud, "ohmygaaash!" Nice and tender with a good smokiness to it. Everything you'd want in flavor. Thinly cut and stacked atop toasted ciabatta bread with caramelized onions and cheddar cheese. The bbq sauce has a little kick to it which I really enjoyed as it left a lasting legacy on my tastebuds.. Yes! The sandwiches come with a side of your choice. Everyone has their moments to be a little stubborn sometimes. Stubborn Craft sodas are exceptional. They also offer shareables, beer and wine with happy hours 2pm-5pm daily yes daily! To wind down or turn up and take a load off. They have freshly baked cookies! I will have to try them next time. They recommend the macadamia nut. I went for the pumpkin empanadas since they're a seasonal item. Definitely recommend if you're a pumpkin fan. Not overly sweet and nice filling to dough ratio. They were delicious! I ordered the tri-tip plate with mac and cheese and roasted brussels sprouts. I'm not a fan of veggies so I didn't care for the brussels sprouts but I wanted to try them anyway. The mac and cheese was pretty good but the meat was overcooked, dry and sliced too thin for my taste. I was expecting something more like the picture on their online ordering site with pink, juicy meat about twice as thick. I was told that the thin slices are what was to be expected but they agreed that the meat was overcooked and offered me a $5 discount on a future order, so they do listen to their customers and make an effort to make things right when they don't get it right the first time. Unfortunately Canyon Crest is not very close to me so I probably won't get to take them up on their offer but if I do get out their again I'll give them another try. Went on a Friday night, it wasn't that busy but was a good flow of people here and there. They had a couple of TVs inside so we were able to watch game 1 of the World Series, go Dodgers! Ordered the tri tip bowl with rice and veggies. I thought the chimichurri sauce was guacamole at first, but it was just a thicker chimichurri I guess. That was good, but needed more of it! The overall bowl was not great. The rice was abysmal. Hard bits of rice. As an Asian, that rice was a failure lol. Tri tip was meh. Grandma's Mac and cheese wasn't good either. Kind of coagulated, not hot nor was there melted cheese in it. En fuego burger meat patty was too burnt. The bacon was spicy with the jalapeño aioli, spicier than normal. I don't think I'll be back. Looked forward to this place, since I know it's a chain of restaurants that have opened up more recently around the inland empire. Quite disappointed with our experience. Maybe the sandwiches are better? And their mashed potatoes rather than their rice? But I have no desire to come back. read more

Just finished eating at bushfire kitchen. And I am very excited about finding this place. I have celiac and it's very hard to find a truly gluten-free place to eat. Not everything is gluten-free but they have lots of options that are safe. And taste delicious. Today I had the tri-tip chimichurri with french fries and grilled vegetables. My husband who doesn't have celiac had a Fuego hamburger with mac & cheese. I forgot to take pictures. Both were very good. My chimichurri sauce was just spicy enough for my delicate pallet. And my husband's hamburger was spicy enough for his preference. I highly recommend this place. I also found out that the focaccia bread that came with my dinner can be bought us a loaf. So now I know where I can go to buy a loaf of gluten-free focaccia bread that's really delicious. read more

Even though there were not many people inside, the noise level was appalling. My wife and I had to yell at each other to be heard. We ended up taking our food outside. We both ordered hamburgers with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. Both of our sandwiches were overcooked, with no sauce. My burger was supposed to be cooked medium, but was partially burnt. The garlic mashed potatoes were dry with no garlic (seriously, what's the point?). $47+ for bad food? I don't think so. We won't be back. read more

I visited Bushfire Kitchen on their first day after opening. They are located at Canyon Crest Towne Centre, and it's one of the few new additions to the plaza, quickly becoming my favorite spot. When you enter, you order at the counter (similar to some other fast-casual places). I went with the En Fuego Burger in the lettuce wrap version, which came with smoked bacon, avocado, pepper jack cheese, pickled red onions, and a fried egg I added on. The sweet potato fries were perfectly crispy, and I sampled various sauces, including their peri peri sauce, which had a subtle heat and a pronounced but pleasant tanginess. I also tried their Nashville Hot sauce, which tasted amazing and had a fair bit of heat. I can't wait to try these sauces again with their wings or chicken strips next time. I also appreciate their gluten-free options (bread and buns), which they make in-house. Their gluten-free chocolate chip cookie was a highlight too. It had the perfect texture and I could not tell it was gluten-free--just the right amount of softness without being crumbly, and the chocolate melted in your mouth. The ambiance is clean and friendly with indoor and patio seating. Prices are fair and very reasonable, and they offer a daily happy hour (2-5 pm) with half-off wine and beer and discounted appetizers. I decided to Doordash this place for the first time today and their menu looked delicious and healthy. The food was just okay, I got the thai chicken with jasmine rice and veggies (7/10) and the chicken empanadas (6/10), they were kinda on the dry side. But what I was really craving was sweet potato fries and when I opened the bag, I was shocked to see their color as they looked liked they were almost to the point of being burned. I went with the Thai curry chicken bowl, and it was delicious! A little spicy, with great flavor. I chose the fire roasted veggies as my side, and they were cooked very well. Overall, a great dish. Empanadas were amazing! The breading on them was so delicious, perfect flakiness and fresh tasting. The side great sauce was also so yummy, it will leave you scraping the bottom of the container. I believe this sauce was supposed to be "chimichurri", but it was not your typical oily type. It had a thicker texture. The Tuscan sandwich with side of Mac was my least favorite, but they were ok. I think the bread was a bit tough, and Mac n cheese could have used more flavor or salt? Soda machine had great fun options, such as "pineapple cream". There are also beer and wine options available, I must checkout their happy hour. Service was good at checkout. The young lady who helped us at the register was very friendly, and even let me try the Thai flavoring when I was on the fence about it, which is what sold me.
