This is actually one of the best breweries in Riverside because of its food offerings! Wow, this brewery has a lot of activities going on and it's fun, but I don't always wanna pay for a ticket. I rate this on food. The service makes it get 2 stars I've been eyeing this place for a while. Family owned and operated in Riverside. So my friends and I went. It's busy, there's plenty of seating. It's fairly clean. For food I ordered the Hot mess chicken sandwich, my husband ordered the jam burger. My friend got the burger salad and her husband the wings. I also ordered a beer flight and my friend the boozy soda flight. The beers were mid, the boozy sodas weren't even cold, and they were way too sweet. I could taste the dyes. My sandwich was not good. The chicken tasted like it was from smart and final mopped with sauce. The fries were decent, but not what I was expecting since this place prides itself on "homemade" foods. My husband's burger tasted like reheated beef. It was overdone. Very much a let down. The burger salad. My friend picked through and it wasn't even like what you would think for a burger salad. The wings, I consider my friends husband an expert at trying these..he said they tasted like from a bag and fried. Not very good at all. I was gravely disappointed in the quality of the food and drinks. I was so looking forward to coming back, but likely I will not be returning. The staff was friendly, very kind and upbeat. From the moment we walked in for our reservation to the last interaction on the way out, it was wonderful! It seemed like every person that worked there wanted to be there and enjoyed their job. This evening we visited Thompson Brewing and we paid $100 for two sodas, mozzarella sticks, and a burger and fries. Yes, you read that correctly--$100. I am actually still utterly shocked and so disappointed in myself for allowing this. I understand that costs are going up for business owners -- I am a business owner myself but this is absolutely absurd and just straight up taking advantage of people. On top of that, the "truffle fries" we paid an extra $7 each for, didn't even come out right. We received plain fries with our order. The "dirty sodas" they are advertising looked absolutely nothing like what was served to us. Plus, they tasted terrible. Everything was completely sub par. First time here. First off, Wendy is AMAZING! Secondly, one of the owners "Mom" greeted everyone at the door, super cute! It's a dog and kid friendly place, they have their own menus! I ordered the deal and upgraded to the truffle fries and added bacon, they forgot my cookie that came with the deal but I totally forgot plus I was soooo full! Thompson Brewing Company is a bit of a hidden spot, you wouldn't really know it's there, and from the outside it kind of looks like a hole in the wall. When you walk in, it's a little surprising at first because it almost feels like you've stepped into an office. Then you notice the ordering counter and realize where you are. The seating is unique. You walk through the back to what feels like a warehouse area with just a couple of tables, which can be a bit off-putting because my 4 year old wanted to run around and touch EVERYTHING. We couldn't sit on the patio because it was raining, but it looks like it would be nice on a clear day. The best seating is definitely upstairs, where they have long tables, arcade and board games you can check out from the front desk. That area really changes the whole vibe. The service was amazing and one of the highlights of the visit. The ambiance upstairs feels lively and fun, it genuinely feels like a party and is very family-friendly. As for the food, this is where it lands at three stars. The brisket was dry and didn't have much flavor, and while the pulled pork nachos were better, that was mostly because of the sauce. The meat itself fell a little flat for barbecue. That said, it could've been because we came later in the day, and the brisket may have been sitting for a while. I'd definitely be open to giving the food another try and ordering different items. The french fries were really good, and the nacho chips themselves were super solid, which makes me think other menu items might be better choices. Overall, while the barbecue meat didn't hit for me this time, the great service, fun games, family-friendly atmosphere, and lively energy make this a place I'd come back to and try again. read more

Atmosphere is nice with plenty of TVs and seating, that's the end of the positive. They're so slow in general, BUT they're very nice so that's probably why. I love trying sours from different breweries so my girl and I got their 2 sours, they were gross and flat. The honey blonde and Irish red were better but still weren't great. We ordered the game day platter and it was disgusting, the chicken strips were the worst chicken strips I ever had, felt like fake chicken and you can see in the picture. Mozzarella sticks were definitely frozen and heated, fries straight out of a bag and over fried, chips salty as the sea and straight from a corner store, sliders were the only thing edible but even those were as basic as it gets with more bread than anything. read more

I had the maple chipotle chicken sandwich and it was great! Tasted like honey chipotle chicken crispers from Chili's if you have ever had those! Service was good but could be better. I've been here a few years ago for drinks. Came back recently with my family to celebrate my birthday. The gentleman at the cash register was very friendly and helpful. I wasn't sure what seltzer I wanted and he gave me a few samples, but didn't rush me despite having a line behind me (many were my family, LOL). I decided on the Hard Tea seltzer and it was refreshing on a hot day. I also ordered the Classic chicken sandwich, and the chicken is two crispy chicken fingers in a sandwich. It was really crispy and not greasy, which is a major plus. I also got the pickle chips and those were amazing. Crunchy texture (possibly Panko crusted) and minimal grease. Esteban brought out our food and he was very friendly and upbeat. He said they have many house made sauces and I tried the white Bbq sauce with my meal. It tasted more like a white honey mustard than Bbq sauce but was really good. We did sit outside on a warm day and found that a few more umbrellas would have helped ease the heat. Many people came out and went back inside because of the heat. We did appreciate that there is a napkin dispenser on each table. Overall, great food, service and atmosphere. I was excited to come here to try the frozen drinks and they were delicious! I absolutely loved the flavors we went with! We got a peach and a mango one! You order and pay first and the food is brought to your table. They also have a line that you can hop in, if you are just ordering drinks and no food. They do ask if you want to keep a tab open. The cashier was so kind and informative! Everyone we spoke with who worked there was friendly! So they have seating outside and seating upstairs! There was a lady singing outside and it was packed for a Saturday night. We were able to find seating. I would say it is a bit tight if you are coming with a stroller. If you sit outside towards the back, that seating can accommodate a stroller. I would suggest walking around the building and meeting everyone out there and not going through the building to get to the outside if you have a stroller. I like my drinks to be brought to me. Cause I'm uncoordinated and add liquor to the mix all bad. So if I have to go get my own food and condiments then they should say that...we are basically a drive thru without a drive thru. The portions of meat reminded me that commercial "where's the beef" the portions of sauce to the meat. The prices for the portions and amount of meat given. Not worth it. Ridiculous. So if you want a Chuck E. Cheese sitting type of vibe with the unsupervised children screaming and running around. Feel like doing a field sobriety check walk back to your bench with your overly priced 4oz large only one size drink. For sure. Go for it. No service. Everything about this place is a green flag! Food: Quality is top tier. Everything is good but my favorite is anything with their fried chicken and their hot mess sauce - my goto is their hot mess mac and cheese with all the extra sauces. I am obsessed with their homemade sauces.. hot mess ofcourse, garlic aioli, white bbq, and their house ranch are my faves.. don't ask me to only choose one. I don't really drink so I haven't tried their craft beers but they have a wide selection, flights, and togo inventory. I have no pictures because I couldn't help myself. Service: Again, quality is top tier. The staff is fabulous, consistently kind and they are why the place feels warm but exciting. Environment: Love the atmosphere here! They have fun events like movie night, crafting activities, and games (board and group). The most available seating is upstairs and the patio but they also have some seating on the first floor where you order. Parking is good. The establishment is a unit out of a larger building so parking is shared with other businesses but I have never had an issue with parking and I have come here many times at various times. Hosted a work event here and it was nothing short of amazing! Communication was easy and better than most places I have dealt with and I plan a lot of events for work. They reserved a space for my group in the back patio and even followed up with me as the date got closer without being prompted. Food was better than I expected and I loved how they have so many other drink options other than beer and they have kid friendly areas as well which is helpful to us parents, and for me that day a working parent who brought her kid to the event! Great brewery!! We got the honey blonde (BEST one I've ever had + locally sourced honey) and the blueberry lemon sour they were both fantastic. So much so, we went back for more drinks and got the vanilla boozy splash and cherry cola fusion, both were so delicious and different. The vanilla was so sweet and dreamy. Honestly, I would give this place 3/5 stars and that's me being nice. There was no music inside, so it didn't really have much of a vibe. The music was outside, but since it was live music and it was also really hot outside, it wasn't the most enjoyable atmosphere. The soda flights were disappointing. They were extremely sweet and honestly reminded me of Four Lokos. The food was okay, but nothing that would make me go out of my way to come back. Such a great spot with delicious food and drinks! We came on a Saturday evening, and it was packed. Even so, the entire staff was doing their absolute best to keep things moving fast. We got our drinks almost immediately, and the food came out in about 10 minutes. We ordered the pub burger, the American burger, and mozzarella sticks. The pub burger was so big I couldn't even finish it. What really impressed me was how juicy it was without the bun getting soggy or falling apart like it does at so many other places - the bread was firm and really good quality. Both burgers came with fries. Definitely grab sauces right away; I especially loved the spicy ranch sauce. For drinks, I had a sour beer, blueberry and lemon, and it was absolutely amazing. If you're not sure you'll like it, you can ask for a sample, which is a really nice touch. The atmosphere is also super interesting: upstairs they have large communal tables, which makes it easy to sit, chat, and even meet new people. Such a fun experince. The service deserves special mentionI honestly don't know how the owner managed to hire so many friendly and professional people.
