I am Korean true and true. The fish dish, Go Dung Oh, ordered was disgusting. The fish had a fishy odor and it was tough as leather. The noodle dish, neng myun, had broken pieces of eggshells. This dish was immediately replaced to my satisfaction until I bit into the brisket meat that tasted rancid. When I took the piece out, the underside was green and smelled spoiled. The owner advised me to eat around the rancid beef!! Naturally, I told him that I would pay the items that were edible and this owner insisted I pay the entire bill. Ummm no. How about you come to my establishment and I fix you food that is definitely spoiled? Another party came in and ordered the cold noodle dish, neng myun. Although the owner insisted to me the neng myun was fine, when a table ordered the same dish, he said he ran out of broth. WTF. It's like a Pho establishment telling a customer they ran out of broth. This owner blocked the exit and demanded payment. As I called the police, he got out of my way. This place sells old rancid fish and meat. I write this review 30 minutes after the incident on the porcelain throne. You just can't make this stuff up. read more

They have great banchan. Today they had those sweet black beans (fermented?) - I haven't found a place that serves that in years! The fish dish - something like Down fish with Tofu was really good - beware of bones though. Bulgogi is very tender, not dry, and not too sweet. Staff is friendly. We have gone twice, usually on our way to or from Costco. The food is excellent and the staff attentive. I like how the kimchi and other sides are seasonal. Last time we went there was a delicious padron pepper and baby dried shrimp mix...yum! read more

My husband and I have been going to this place for years since we've considered it one of the better Korean BBQ spots. With that said, we went tonight, (upon our son's request) and experienced the worst customer service to date. First, we arrived just before 7pm (with our 5 yr. old and 9 month old in tow) and were seated right away, so we thought we beat the crowd. We were given our menus but weren't acknowledged again until 15 minutes later, when water was served. Within this time, we observed several parties being seated - half of which were Korean speaking (as the waitresses were conversing in their language) and the other parties being non- Korean or mixed race couples/families (like mine) . At this point, we'd been sitting for 25 minutes without any further acknowledgement, but had witnessed the 2 Korean speaking parties(who were seated AFTER us) being attended to and THEN minutes later served their food. I just read that a fellow yelper "Mike L." (who is Korean and went with a "non-Korean" friend) had a similar bad experience. Once we acknowledged the blatant disregard for our patronage, we decided to take our family and leave. My husband and I have never experienced such POOR customer service or behavior (i.e. RACISM) in our lives!! So be advised, if you are Non-Korean, and truly value your time AND FAMILY.... be prepared for frustration OR just leave as we did!! read more

this deserves five stars for being in the East Bay! the service was great and the side dishes were amazing. we had the dol sot bi bim bop which was good, but the really yummy thing was this fish with spicy saucse (i think it was around number 57, for $21.95). the fish was amazing and the tofu and radishes were so tasty! if you're looking for good korean food in the east bay this is the placed to go! read more

Dropped in for a late lunch today and although the food was tasty we received very little service. It was not because of a crowd, there was one other threesome in the restaurant. Our food was put down & our server never returned. Nothing was refilled; nada. Food was very good and we will return to try it again. Hopefully we'll get better service next time! read more

Awesome -- authentic, clean, great variety of banchan, great food. I miss LA and NY Korean food, but Korean BBQ Plus! is reassuringly real and tasty. I haven't tried all the others in the area, but I can't imagine there's anything like this anywhere close. One warning for you non-Koreans is that if you're coming from the west, I think the sign for this place is only in Korean. But it's in the same complex as a Korean market and some other stuff on the sign is in English. read more

This place is probably the best authentic Korean food you can eat. Everything that comes out when served is delicious. I have eaten here at least 15 times and have yet to have a bad experience. If you run out of side dishes they will refill a couple of your favorites and at no extra charge. I think the dessert with the bill is a nice little touch at the end. Love this place. read more

Just made my second visit to this place to see how much I like it. I can tell you now that this place is consistently good. Had the Spicy Pork and Spicy Chicken. Both looked very similar but the taste was different. I was really impressed with the quality of the chicken. Good size pieces w/ no fatty chunks or skin hanging off of it. They also give you 12 side dishes which made the whole thing an eating adventure. We even got two free appetizers which were both excellent. Oh, we also had the KimChi fried rice. WOW! We used to go to the Korea House but found it was missing something (like the hostess who used to instruct us on how to best eat the food). Next time we try the Eel . If anyone has had the Eel, please let me know what you thought of it. read more

Not very familiar with Korean food, but I thought this was very good and the owners were quite gracious and we ate well for little $.

This is still my go-to Korean restaurant. When I learned that the restaurant changed ownership, I wasn't sure that they would keep one of my favorite menu items, braised black cod. Not only do they still serve the dish, it tasted exactly the same. The waitress told me that even though the restaurant is under new ownership, the chef had stayed on. The small side dishes (banchan) that come with the meal are delicious, especially the spicy fish cakes and the radish kimchi. They also give you glass noodles with vegetables (japchae) as free appetizer. read more

first time dining here yesterday! service was so fast for a group of 14 people. we didnt have to wait too long for our food. everything i ordered was really delicious. i'd come back for the l.a galbi,japchae and teukbokki and seafood pancake! the price is good for the serving cause we only paid 250 for 14 people and we even got to take home some leftover foods. overall great experience. definetly reccomend! read more

Went here for lunch with some coworkers and enjoyed it very much, especially considering that I don't eat Korean BBQ very often. Our Korean friend suggested #2, the beef plate. I really enjoyed the variety of appetizers included with the order, including kim chi, kim chi pancake, fish cake, bean sprouts, potatoes, cucumbers, etc. The egg soup was delicious as well, I guess that comes with the order as well. Overall, a great experience and not too expensive either, the plates were under $10 and everything else was included. read more

What happen to this place? This place used to have good selection of dishes like bulgogi and Korean miso soups, but they taste terrible now. I ordered stir fried veggie with octopus for $17 and I couldn't chew any of the octopus. It was sooooo hard. I told the waitress and she didn't give me any excuse or remake the dish. They charge me for everything. We went at dinner time and we were second table in the whole place. I see why. They need to hire a professional cook if they want to stay open for long time. every time I've been here i have always loved it. the setting of the place is nice and the ambiance is perfect. a place to just relax and enjoy Korean meals. the staff are also nice and professional. the meals are ALWAYS delicious and well made. i'm definitely coming back again :) read more

This is one of my favorite Korean restaurants in the area. The chef is super nice, and if you catch him while he's bored, he'll give you free beer. The service is a little lacking, as they aren't very on top of things, but the food is excellent. If you go during the week, the prices are reasonable because you can get some of the meat for half off. read more

I was tempted to leave after we sat down and were ignored for 10 minutes. The place wasn't that crowded, but the servers were rushing around doing stuff that could have waited. Our waitress knew we had been waiting a while to order, but she just HAD to go bus a table before she came over, even though the restaurant was half empty and no one was waiting. I should have listened to my instincts and left. The food was decent, but over priced, which I wouldn't mind if they weren't so stingy with everything. We ordered 3 meat dishes and a beepbimbop, so they only gave us 4 bowls of rice, even though there were 6 of us (3 were kids). They charged us for 2 extra bowls of rice. They never offered us any more banchan, we had to ask them. And since there were 6 of us, I don't know how they expected the small amount they gave us to be enough. They pretty much just ignored us the entire meal. Granted, the restaurant did fill up by the time we left, but we got zero service from the start. We finally had to get up to get our own bill. I don't know about the free yogurt drink that some people say they got, because we never got far enough in the meal. We were just anxious to leave after being there for so long. Save your money and go somewhere else. The food wasn't special enough to warrant horrible service and overpriced stinginess. read more

This place either changed ownership or changed cooks cause the food no longer tastes like authentic korean food. If you like sweet food then this is the place for you otherwise it doesn't taste like korean food. The Kim chee is sweet the BBQ chicken tastes like is was soaked in soy sauce and sugar I could go on. They leave all the ban Chan sitting out so flies can land on them. This used to be my favorite place to eat korean food in Concord guess I'm going to have to find a new one. read more

My coworkers and I frequent this place whenever we get a hankering for some tasty Korean bbq. We were even able to satisfy the vegetarian in our group. Of course, we dined on the traditional meat dishes - beef ribs, spicy beef, pork, etc. Main courses and the many side dishes are tasty, delicious and plentiful. The service was also very attentive and friendly. I believe the restaurant is run by a husband and wife team. This is truly a hidden gem and definitely worth driving to find. been here twice. once before years ago and again today. defiantly my least favorite Korean place to go to. The good- The spicy is a good deal spicy and is nice The chicken/pork is very tender Soups not overly salty The bad- SERVICE- horrible! Food came out fast, but service is the big killer here (usually i do -1, but definitely took off 2 point). we asked for more ban chan and was given only about 6 of them...I swear we didn't even get checked on at all...we had to flag down staff for service after our food was delivered. Cultural...maybe, but staff was sure spending a lot of time explaining the menu to someone...tea not re-filled. Staff rather do their thing over serving customers...tea isn't even good-watered down/no flavor. Didn't ask us if we wanted a box...off day? idk just poor service. read more
