Overall: A+ // 6 stars High quality Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant that really lives up to the title with the authentic Thai flavors at a good value. The menu features a number of classic favorites, all of which are some of the best I've tasted of the cuisine. It tasted great the first time I visited in 2023 and even better when I returned in 2026! Pad See Ew - Excellent execution of the classic; love the tenderness of the chicken, and the tenderness of the leaves while retaining its texture. The authentic sweetness and garlic peppery notes come through well in the noodles as well. Mango Sticky Rice - Showshopping dessert that elevates the classic with added fun with the white chocolate shell; the mango is juicily well selected, while the sticky rice is softly warm and comforting. The coconut and rice flakes add another layer of dimensionality as well. It tastes even better than the version I had in 2023. Pad Thai Lunch - Had this back in 2023 which came with a soup, a curry, a noodle, and an appetizer which was spectacular value. The hot and sour soup was well balanced with acidity and spice; the green curry chicken could properly propagate the herbaceousness of the curry through the spice without being too spicy; the egg roll was properly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. And of course, the pad thai has those authentically bold notes of sweet, sour, salty that I am looking for. A bit on the pricier end, but the food was great so I can't complain! The gai lan with pork belly was my favorite! It was garlicky and the pork belly was still crispy. I would probably try the tofu option next time though as the pork belly was a bit too heavy/fatty for me. Not pictured, but we also got a lychee lime juice which was refreshing and not too sweet. It had a very natural and not artificial lychee flavor which stood out to me. Our server was also super friendly and attentive. He was quick to collect our food ordef and it also came out in a timely manner. He also checked in on us regularly. We had a reservation so we did not have an issue with the wait. If you're in a time crunch I would definitely consider making a res.

This is a quaint Thai restaurant on Baldwin that has become very popular since inclusion on the Michelin recommended list. I was quite impressed with it... probably rate it slightly higher than Pai and Thai Barn Na. Food (4.5/5) - nice menu with lots of variety and overall good food quality. - Khao Neow Gaeng - this is one of their signature dishes and was fantastic! Stir fried pineapple curry with coconut curry sticky rice. What a great mix of items with great flavour, served in a half pineapple. - Khao Soi - a nice flavourful mix with a tasty curry broth. - Moo Tod - fried pork belly served with a lime sauce. This one was just OK imo... bit on the dry side. - Pandam Toast with Coconut Ice Cream - a really tasty dessert with a toasted custard piece and creamy ice cream. Service (4.25/5) - this place gets busy but they are fairly well staffed and keep an eye on the tables to make sure people are moving through quickly. Maybe can appear a bit standoffish for that reason but not rude at all. Atmosphere (4.25/5) - it has two levels for dining and also a small patio out front. Not as elaborate or upscale an interior as Pai but functional. Overall (4.4/5) - A definite repeat to try some of the other dishes. Be aware that it can get very busy so book with reservations.

Came back to try more dishes. Got the pad see ew, mango salad, and mango sticky rice. The mango salad and pad see ew were good but the mango sticky rice was a little too over the top. You don't get a whole lot of fresh mango. There's a few pieces of mango in a mango shaped white chocolate cover drenched in condensed milk. The chocolate was unnecessary and the dish overall was trying too to be too trendy. Didn't love it and was a poor ending to an otherwise decent meal.

Service was excellent and quick - we were there maybe 45 minutes total Food was amazing!! I eat pad Thai in every city I visit and this may be the best yet since I first had pad Thai in college many many years ago. Been chasing that epic pad Thai for years and think I finally found it. Amazing depth of flavor. Partner got the Islamic noodles, which he thought were excellent as well, rich flavor and very well made. Would happily eat again. The only issue I had which made me knock off a star is that the glass and silverware had an odd scent, like the smell your glasses have if there's food stuck in your dishwasher filter -- if you know that scent you know what I mean. Just smelled funky and honestly the smell was ruining the taste (smell and taste are so closely linked) so I drank out of my own water bottle I had brought and grabbed a plastic fork to eat with which did solve the issue but still...less than ideal

This spot is close to work, so we often come here for lunch. I do miss the amazing lunch specials from before they were recognized by Michelin, but the quality of the food is still excellent. I've tried a wide range of dishes including spring rolls, Islamic noodles, pad Thai, pad see ew, khao soi, mango sticky rice, and crispy pork krapow. Everything has been delicious and authentic, with deep, rich flavours. Overall, every visit has been really satisfying. The khao soi is especially incredible on a cold day. The curry broth is warm, creamy, and full of layered spice, with tender noodles and perfectly cooked toppings. It was topped with beef brisket, and they were so generous with the portion, which was such a pleasant surprise. There was so much beef, making it extra hearty and filling. Will definitely be back.

I would just have to say that we are glad we decided to walk through the doors. We started off with appetizers of the fried pork and grilled curry squid and the dipping sauce was amazing just like home. We were unable to take pictures because they we're eating so fast. We decided to order just a couple main dishes and they were also amazing. The flavors from the curry noodles were very rich and creamy and absolutely delicious. The drunken noodles had a perfect blend of spices just like Hometown and we will definitely go back to try this and the rest of the stuff on the menu again. The service was amazing, we were greeted by the host with a warm welcome, and the waiter was also very kind. It is a true authentic Thai restaurant and the food and flavors are expected and reflect from the culture. Ambience is just like the islands of why the title of the name is there and the decorations are amazing. Let's talk about dessert, the pandan toast was out of this world. Top two with the coconut ice cream and the decorations and the display was already worth $1 million photo. The flavor was not overwhelmingly sweet but Rich at the same time. Thank you for your hospitality and kindness and delicious food and we will definitely be back soon to try the rest of the menu.

Michelin guide restaurant located on the popular Baldwin St area behind hospital row. The restaurant has a nice warm vibe. The walls have beautiful artwork and there are hanging decorations. There's a heated and covered patio to allow additional diners. The second floor has additional seating and washrooms. The food was excellent. My wife got the chicken pad thai and I got the Pad Gra Pao. The pad thai has good portion of chicken, tofu, noodles. The Pad Gra pao has fried pieces of pork belly and fried egg on top of the rice. One word, delicious. Only gripe I had was the steamed rice was cold. The server is warm and welcoming and we enjoyed our experience here. I would recommend a visit here if you are looking for some authentic Thai comfort food.

Second time came. Tasty good. The shrimp roll is not recommended. Not deserve the price and too salty.

Recommended by the Michelin guide for a good reason! More known for their curries, their flavors are loud and bold! I got the Islamic noodles and they were delicious. They tend to go harder with the spice so definitely be aware! There's also a line so prepare to wait a bit since it gets busy around dinner time.

My buddy in town recommended Koh Lipe Thai Kitchen, which specializes in southern Thai food. It was bumping on a late weekday evening. They have a second location out in Scarborough. Service was okay but not particularly friendly. Main dishes are in the $18.95 to $38.95 price range. They asked for spice levels; opted for medium. - Jasmine rice - three dishes came with rice - Kor moo gaeng kua ($24.95) - pork jowl lost its crispy bite in the curry. Curry was slightly grainy - Beef pad mee kao ($21.95) - flat wide rice noodles had a great bite. A simple classic properly executed - Prik gaeng moo krob ($25.95) - good chunks of crispy pork. Nice with the curry underneath - Prik pao talay ($38.95) - generous amount of seafood (mussels, shrimps, squid and claims). Our favourite dish of the night

My two favorite things to order are Mackerel fried rice. Fusion dish that makes sense. Lemongass meets smokey katsuobushi. Huge portion size. Islamic noodles. Good balance of spicy, sweet, salty and rich. This time I discovered two new dishes and they were excellent! Rolled tofu skin with shrimp Deep fried frog legs. Highly recommend these dishes for your next trip to Koh Lipe!

Been here twice and had two very different experiences…read more I was here for the first time on March 15, 2025, for my birthday dinner. I'd made a reservation for four which was great because the restaurant was very busy. My group ordered several different full-sized entrees and shared the meal family style. The dishes were all executed flawlessly. I came here again for a work team lunch in August 2026. It was easy to book a reservation for a large group; the restaurant was not busy at all on a weekday afternoon. Most of the group ordered from the lunch special menu offered at the time which allowed diners to pick around three menu items from the special menu for around $22. The server was honest and explained that the items on the lunch special menu are not made to order and are prepared in bulk. I really appreciate this honesty, as I ended up ordering from the special menu and experienced the difference in quality. The waiter was again honest and courteous when the bills came out, reminding us that gratuity was already included. He was also friendly and helpful when we asked for a group photo before heading out.

We ordered the tapioca dumplings, papaya fritters, beef massaman curry, nam khao, drunken noodles w chicken, mok pa, and watermelon salad. Overall I think the food was good although some items were a skip (drunken noodles and watermelon salad). For a cheaper price I've had more delicious drunken noodles, these were just fine. The watermelon salad was literally cut watermelon lol please. However, the rest of the food was really good. My top three items were the tapioca dumplings, nam khao, and beef massaman curry, in that order. I have had delicious tapioca dumplings in Madison, WI and have been chasing those item for years now and this really delivered. I love nam khao and have had various versions - this isn't the best I've had (I had a phenomenal one in Chicago) but it was still sooooo good. Beef massaman curry exceeded my (low/neutral) expectations. Service was incredible, the waitress was so nice and helpful. It is a fun decor in there as well and so much bigger than I thought it would be (tbf I didn't have a specific expectation, but it does have many rooms).

We made a reservation for a weekday lunch. The restaurant was busy but not packed…read more I definitely recommend ordering to share rather than eating only one of something. I found the dishes to be quite heavy-handed on the seasoning (borderline too salty), so the variety helps. Panang Curry - very flavorful, slightly sweet, and very savory. Had a nice kick to it! Som Tum Tod (fried papaya salad) - ordered it because it was their signature but I thought it was too salty and crunchy. And I got kind of tired of the fried aspect of it. Wished I ordered the fresh papaya salad instead. The heat and garlic is nice though. Decently sized portion so you can share it with the whole table. Pad Woonsen Cha-Om (Minced Pork & glass noodle, egg, garlic and acacia leaves) - my first time trying this dish! It was really good! It kind of filled the role of "fried rice" to me, mellowing out all of the stronger flavours of the other dishes. Still quite flavourful on its own too. Felt like a Thai-spin on the Korean dish, Japchae. Kai Yang (grilled chicken) - oh my gosh the sauce this chicken comes with is TO DIE FOR. I want to buy it or learn how to make it. It's so fragrant, fresh, spicy, aromatic, and just the right amount of fishy and acidic. We were very full sharing these 4 dishes between 3 people. For the fact that this is Michelin Bib Gourmand, I think it is well-priced and a great place to try!

This time we ended up at Khao San Road, which was busy from the get go. We got there a couple minutes before opening at 5pm, and before you knew it, there was a line waiting behind us. Inside was quite spacious between tables, and they were playing throwback tracks. We ordered a mango salad to share, which was okay but not my favourite. It got really sour near the end but next time I would try the papaya salad instead. For my personal main, I got the Pad Thai with no spice. It was still very flavourful and the noodles were cooked perfectly. One thing I appreciate is that the portion size is huge!! For me, this could've easily been 2, if not 3 meals. The Thai iced tea was also really good but on the sweeter side. A good restaurant to try if you're coming from out of town, wouldn't be disappointed.
