Place is cute, came here to try a local spot rather than get a Starbucks or Wawa drink. As I walked in I saw they had a bunch of little homemade knick knacks for sale, which I thought was pretty cool. I got some grounds to gift to someone, and ordered a chai gingerbread latte with oat milk. It came out within 5 minutes, and although it burned my tongue a little, it was great! I've had the Starbucks one, but this one tastes more homey and full bodied than theirs. Good depth of flavor, and a more creamy consistency. Exceedingly slow service. The workers are nice but painfully slow. No one has any type of urgency at all. My husband and I went in on a Sunday morning m. There were 3 people behind the counter and one person waiting for a coffee drink. We ordered two smoothies. We waited over 20 minutes for our smoothies with only one order ahead of us. The workers just wandered around looking lost and clueless. This place overall needs to figure out what it is trying to be. It's a cute spot and some of the coffee is good but most of it is subpar. The cappuccinos are pretty decent. The cold brew tastes like drip coffee in ice and it is very acidic and unpleasant. This morning I ordered an iced mocha and I watched the lady make it. You're supposed to put the ice into the cup first but that happened last and now I left a trail of mocha from the coffee shop to my apartment. When you're making an iced drink, please put the ice into the cup first and make the drink separately, then pour it over the ice second. Otherwise there will not be enough room for ice and the coffee is going to get all over everything including my shirt, my jeans, my carpet, my countertops, my floors, my carpet and the sidewalk. Empanadas at a coffee place? Yes, please! So you walk in and it's got this cool almost industrial vibe. There is ample seating and you don't feel like you're crammed into a tiny space. The cashier is friendly and helpful when trying to make a decision. There are so many options! We ended up getting the Cobb salad and a club sandwich. I left the onions and cheese off (dairy nope!). The sourdough bread was pretty tasty. The Cobb salad came in a mixing bowl sized dish. Hubs loved it since he thinks mixing bowl salads are awesome. Drinks were a regular latte and a chai oat milk latte. They were both so good. I really enjoyed the spice of the chai. We also ordered the Granny Smith apple nut (forgot which nut) coffee cake. One of the best coffee cakes I've ever had! The tart bit of the apple? So good! We grabbed empanadas for later. Bacon, egg, and cheese (what sort of sacrilege is that lol?). One chicken (super spicy), one beef (my favorite), and a mushroom, onion, mozzarella, spinach (again, what? lol). In spite of some of these unconventional fillings? They were delicious. The pastry was browned to perfection and had a crispy texture. Such a cute place my husband found for us to try. He really enjoyed his Dirty Banana smoothie. I enjoyed my Mango Whip, as well, although I'd prefer a little less lime; but, nonetheless, it was very refreshing. My French Onion Grilled Cheese came out nice and hot and crispy. It had a wonderful flavor, but we both agreed it would be even better if they served it au jus for added flavor and moisture. I love food and drink, I love local businesses, and I love writing reviews on my experience with local businesses. I think this does two-fold. It allows people to read reviews praising local businesses when they have provided a great customer service experience and it also allows people to read reviews admonishing local businesses for provided subpar customer service experiences. Knott's Coffee is owned/managed by Obec Hospitality. When I found this out, things started to align a little. Obec Hospitality also owns Westside Burgers, which outside of being dragged by ratings on various sites, was a pretty bad experience for me and I refer you to my review on Westside. Some of the reviews I have read specifically related to Knotts have been atrocious. But, I can't speak to those experience because I have not experienced it myself. I have been to Knott's Coffee twice now. Once to meet a friend for a cup of Joe in the morning and once at night with my family for their bingo night. Knott's is a nice looking establishment. The decor, seating, space in general is well done. The coffee was coffee. It's been a while since my first visit, but I'm definitely not sitting here reminiscing about how good it was and couldn't tell you what I had. My second visit was last week. My ex mother in law goes to their bingo night, which is pretty cool. You play bingo for about an hour and whoever wins gets a $5 gift card to Knott's. Not a bad deal and my kids had a great time. While here I had a couple of their empanadas. Chicken and beef. I had been wanting to try them ever since I first went. Aaaaand unfortunately they weren't fresh and I received ones that had been sitting in the case. Kind of rubbery. Missed opportunity. These businesses and the associated Obec Hospitality exist in a crowded space of businesses that provide great culinary and coffee experiences. This is a space where, nowadays with so many options, impressions matter for those who value good customer service. In my experience customer service is a standard that must be instilled and practiced from the top down. If leaders can't and don't set a good standard for customer service, then, well, negative reviews and ratings ensue. read more

I am a chai person but this one was a tad on the bland side. I definitely want to go back and try their foods! Have been to Knotts Coffee several time and tried several drinks/menu selections. Their coffee and smoothies are definitely tasty and some of my favorites in the area. The empanadas are decent, however whenever I have ordered them it feels like they have sitting out for a while and Luke warm from the lamp. I would love to give them a try right as they are made (maybe they need a "fresh empanada" sign like they have at Krispy Kreme's! The venue also sells beer, wine, and cocktails and have various events throughout the year per their billeting board and website.
