What a gem of a coffee shop! This is one of my favorite coffee finds to date in Hampton Roads. Is it anywhere near my house? Nope. A total nightmare to get to for logistically, but totally worth the hassle and the drive. This place is tiny so we lucked out getting seats. There are a few seats on a low top bar facing the street and a few more high top bar seats facing the kitchen. Not ideal for socializing, but we made it work, I found this place to be extremely kid-friendly even though it isn't necessarily catering towards kids. Tons of great food options - highlights being the strawberry french toast and the chicken bacon ranch wrap. Pretty sure these are both specials for February, but gosh they should keep them year-round. The gentleman cooking was great - from food to service. My coffee was good. Not superb, but hit the spot. My biggest wish for coffee shops is always homemade syrups but at least they use Monin. Overall, great experience and will definitely be back next time I stumble upon the area. read more

Service was amazing, the gal at cash register made my drink slightly less sweet as I requested and both her and her coworker were really friendly. I went on a slow Monday morning so there was space to sit up on the bar as well as against the window of you wanted to get work done. It's a very small area but they make good use of the space. Lots of available parking. Next time I will definitely try out some food options. read more

My friend and I came here to grab some coffee and a late breakfast before work. Walking up to this place, it looked like a little hole in the wall. When I walked in, it was simply decorated and looked pretty clean. The staff were pleasant and attentive. They were able to help guide us on what we would like based on our preferences! There's bar seating and side seating. We sat at the bar seating, which you're able to see the food freshly made with fresh ingredients. The scramble bowl was phenomenal! Definitely satisfied my breakfast craving. There's so many options for coffee, it was so hard to choose one. I originally got "The Lola" which was a mellow coffee and slightly sweet. I wanted one to go as well, so I got, the seasonal, "Dulce de leche latte". It was definitely a stronger coffee taste, but mainly due to the double shot. The flavors of both coffees were perfect--not too overwhelming. Definitely gonna come back and try the rest of the menu! read more

This place is very small, but there is some seating inside. It does get crowded during certain times of the morning, especially on the weekend when we went so just know that. I decided to try the coffee flight which was a little bit expensive but overall good. We also got a breakfast burrito which was also tasty. I stopped by Rojo Coffee Co. to meet someone for a work chat and ended up having The Rory -- a lavender oat milk latte that was perfectly balanced and so comforting. Smooth espresso, just the right touch of floral, and oat milk made it extra cozy. The space is small but beautifully curated, with such a friendly and welcoming energy. I'd definitely recommend going early if you want to grab a seat -- it's the kind of spot you want to sit and stay awhile. I had a lovely conversation with (I believe) the owner, and her warmth just added to the experience. I didn't get a chance to try the food, but it smelled incredible -- enough to have me planning my next visit already. A local gem worth every sip! read more

This place is tiny inside but don't let that deter you; their menu is large. The decorations were fun to look at while eating at the counter too, if that's something you care about. The other option was to eat facing the window that looks out to the main road. For the month of December (when we dined) they had many special holiday menu items. I ordered their orange-cranberry overnight oats bowl, which besides what's in the name, had chopped apples and crumb cake pieces (genius) too. Yum! My partner got their avocado toast with bacon and said the avocado concoction on top tasted super fresh. Be warned it was only a single slice of toast though. We both got hot drinks as well (me a matcha and him one of their holiday drink specials). For whatever reason many coffee shops no longer offer soy milk, so I was extra excited to see that they did. It was a bit pricey for what we ordered, but everything was delicious. I'd certainly be back to try more items. read more

Love what they did to the menu and the place! Small quant place with a great menu and good selection of coffees! Love the buzz and the service! I sat at the bar and got to watch Sydney cook my delicious tacos and hashbrowns. She actually asked for feedback because she was in training and wanted to make sure she was on track. Which I thought was pretty awesome! Nothing but great feedback. The tacos are great with eggs, sausage, pickled onions, salsa and a fresh jalapeno slice. The combo is great and it's not too spicy. I really liked the crispy shredded hashbrowns. I got the 2 tacos and the hashbrowns and I was able to gobble it all up without feeling too full. Got to meet the manager and she was great! I called to see if I could put in an order to be picked up. It was actually 10 minutes before opening for the day so I was thankful they even picked up the phone. I ordered their Moose latte and an avocado toast with tomato. The whole team was there, the husband wife owner team and the general manager. They all were very friendly. The latte was a combination of peanut butter, double espresso, toasted marshmallow, honey, and almond milk. This was delish! The avocado toast was yummy. I would have like a dizzle of either a balsamic glaze or aioli of sort. I can't wait to come back and try other items on their menu. read more

We were in Chesapeake this morning and my husband suggested I should find a coffee shop. I had seen Rojo Coffee on Yelp before so when it popped up that it was close by, I chose for us to check it out. Walking in we were met with a friendly staff and a very cute ambiance. I ordered the Lola (white mocha with cinnamon) and my husband got the moose (honey roasted peanut) I wasn't initially planning on getting food but their menu looked good so I chose to order the breakfast burrito and my husband got the breakfast tacos. Our coffee came out in cute cups (which I love) and shortly after we got our food. My coffee was perfectly balanced between the sweetness of the mocha and the warmness of the cinnamon. The burrito was delicious! I loved that the tortilla was crisp on the outside. Super flavorful filling with the salsa. My husband enjoyed his tacos as well (I didn't try them but the presentation was beautiful) Overall we had a great experience. We don't find ourselves in this area often but when we do, I'd definitely come back. read more

yermmm! this is for sure a new go to. i love how they have some not basic breakfast options. as a breakfast enthusiast, i get bored w the same diner-type options. the first time i went i got the southwest scramble & it was delish, the second time i think i got the tacos & they were also super yum. most of the menu is decently priced; compare drinks to starbucks, but a lot of the food prices are actually NOT ridiculous (something i've also noticed as a brekky enthusiast like y you charging 20$ for mediocre fried steak and eggs ). cute lil shop & fun ambiance. there's also outdoor seating so i hope to bring my pup next time (if allowed lol haven't asked yet)! usually hard to find a nice chill spot for me and the dawg.. i really love this spot & plan to go back and try the horchata french toast & chipotle turkey melt! read more

This is my first time eating here with the new owners. My husband went to pick up breakfast. They took forever. But he loved his breakfast burrito! I had the horchata French toasts. They were good but they didn't taste like horchata at all. There was no fruit on top either. These french toasts were my fav before. I have to say that the biggest let down was the lavender lemonade! Stopped in this morning for two coffees and a breakfast burrito- everything was great. The shop is very bright and clean, seats maybe 12 with a bar facing the kitchen and another facing the windows, smart use of a small space and tons of natural light coming in. We had a custom latte and the moose- delicious and the burrito was prepared right in front of us and was also very good and a generous portion. This coffee joint has gotta be the one of the nicest hidden gems in the Chesapeake area. The little building is bustling with life and a clean relaxation inducing ambiance that really sat well with me, and made a Sunday morning coffee the highlight of my day. As for the workers, they boast a homey "I've known you my whole life" demeanor which in my experience is hard to come by in this area of Virginia. The coffee itself is great, it's not some pseudo starbucks slop which so many coffee joints seem to become. It's genuine coffee shop coffee and it makes that very clear of itself. The "aesthetic" is an incredibly small, but cutely decorated, shop that seats no more than 10 people elbow to elbow. Prepare to get your order to go. Staff is always very kind. Heads up on the potholes in the parking lot. The kitchen is an open view to patrons, where you can watch the cook fry up Great Value(Food Lion brand) items. Food is a bit overpriced for common grocery store products you could easily make at home. Coffee is good. Flavored lattes are great quality and fresh. Overall, nice for a quick caffeine treat on the go but certainly not a staple breakfast/lunch place. read more

Stopped by Rojo's for the first time on our way to Nags Head. This place is so cute with a warm and friendly staff. We had the JuJu overnight oats filled with delicious fruit, nuts & honey. RELAX! Enjoy this place for all its goodness! It is way worth it, even if they are busy or even not busy but moving a little slow because they are still new. And please No offense to the previous owner the food was good but the new owners coffee is SOOOOOOO MUCH BETTA! I didnt think that the previous owner's staff was very friendly and the coffee was NOT good. Sorry, it was just burnt tasting and strange to me. But Rojo's coffee is VERY GOOD!! Like the best around maybe, FOR REAL, TRUST ME. I was shocked on how good this coffee tastes! They are accommodating and friendly too. Now they are NEW still so things move a little slow. Be patient because it all comes out delicious (the breakfast tacos are still my fave and my girl loves the waffles) but don't be discouraged by the wait time. They are still getting used to impatient locals, the amount of people that are coming through and back again because it's so good but for real people, be nice and relax.
