I had a strong single experience at Pinup recently. I had tried them before, but unfortunately they were closed. They opened up their new location at Sherwood around 30 days ago. Parking is plentiful in front of the strip of stores. No debris was spotted. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by counter staff. A nice young girl was prepared to take my order. I had just got a sandwich at neighbor TASTE, so was only looking for a coffee. I first utilized the restroom which was clean and had proper supplies. It's in the rear of the room. I decided to look around prior to my order. The rear has seating outside by the water. The interior has high ceilings and concrete floor. A nice couch space is there along with a group table. The central item that pulls everything together is the Pinup bulb sign on the wall. I returned to the counter and ordered a pour over coffee for $6.50 utilizing the "Slightly Dangerous" beans.. I met the female roaster that filled me in on the business and history. She was super helpful and had strong customer service. I n needed my coffee to go unfortunately as I would have loved to enjoy a cup in their comfortable dining room. I was able to watch my pour over which was cool. The disposable cup was both unique and quality. Unique in that it had a built in insulator that others use and they slip off. A really tasty coffee and so glad I checked them out and will return for a food item.

I planned and looked forward to spending my Saturday making a visit at the new Pinup location. I was super excited to try it as my favorite food truck assisted with curating the food menu. The space is a gorgeous breath of fresh air with stellar seating outside facing the sparkling water. I instantly could hear Miley singing "This is the lifeee hold on tight" in my head The staff and owner were incredibly sweet with a positive and welcoming vibe. I ordered the seasonal Earl Grey Dream latte iced and my friend ordered the Lavender Garden Bubbly. Both drinks were delightful and I could taste the quality of the coffee in the latte. I love a coffee that doesn't have too much milk or sweetener so this drink was nicely balanced and fit my preference. For eats I ordered us the Tiramisu French Toast and the Breakfast Burrito to share. Both were served beautifully on nice plates. You can tell a lot of effort and detail went into everything which a type A girly like myself can truly appreciate. The French toast was not only nice to look at but it was thickkkk, soft and well balanced although I would've loved an even stronger flavor of espresso to shine through. I also loved the seasonal fruit that accompanied the plate including fresh blackberries, grapes and pear. If you have a free day to relax and enjoy the little things in life or just have a good yap session this the place to do it. I'm excited for the next time I have a chance to visit and try something new.

Beautiful new coffee shop in VA Beach. It's located in the new shops at Sherwood Lakes. The coffee shop has plenty of seats and tables to enjoy your coffee and food or even get some work done. They also have a beautiful patio overlooking the lake. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I ordered a pistachio latte which was delicious! Can't wait to try other flavors and food. Definitely come check this coffee shop out!

Good vibe and service, good variety of food for a cafe, outdoor seating has an awesome view. I ordered the drip coffee and the avocado toast. My partnet ordered the cappuccino and the breakfast burrito. We both loved our food and drink. Every ingredients tasted fresh and delicious. Will definitely come back to try our stuff!

Pinup Coffee Cafe was such a cute little breakfast spot and I'm glad we visited! I think this location just recently opened up so we went right when the open end at 7am and good thing we did because there was barely anyone there so we could really enjoy the vibes. By the time we left (around 8am) it was definitely getting busy and crowded! It is a seat yourself kind of deal so just be aware of that! There's plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor so I'm glad there's options. We started off with the iced matcha latte, it does not come sweet I was told so I ordered mine with coconut syrup. I'm pretty picky with my matchas and like to taste the matcha taste. Unfortunately this one didn't come through as much for me, it was more coconut than anything. I think next time I'll just try it with like brown sugar or something. It was still a refreshing drink though! My husband enjoyed his "slightly dangerous" coffee pour over (he's not super picky lol). As for the food it was so good!!! I got the avocado toast which came with caprese, burrata, roasted tomato, basil, olive oil on I think sourdough and I was impressed! I don't typically comment on like the bread but I loved that the bread it came on really had some flavor! It was super filling and refreshing and topped off perfectly with some flaky salt. My husband loved his sandwich as well and said it was so delicious. The cookie we got was enormous and we had to take half of it home lol. It was a little too chocolatey for me, I kind of wish there was more cookie to balance out how much chocolate there was, however I also got it because the chocolate appealed to me lol. Just didn't expect the middle to be almost pure chocolate. If you love chocolate chips, you'll love this cookie! I would probably try one of the other bakery items next time I go. Overall I really liked this place and would come back! For all 5 items we spent about $50 which is a little pricier but the quality was def there. Would highly recommend if you're in the area! The views are stunning :)

Pinup Coffee recently opened their new location in Pungo in new construction storefronts. At the time of my review they still had soft opening signs. It's seat yourself, ordering was smooth - go to the counter and they will take your number and text you when your orders ready. Coffee was pretty good! Not as good as the other location, might be a one off. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors with an aviation theme. We didn't get food but it all looked really good. The staff seemed to be all over it, no complaints and honestly couldn't tell they just recently opened. Edit: We will be sure to check out the other offerings on our next visit, 4.5/5 overall experience, considering it's a soft opening I will visit again in the coming weeks and update my review.

Absolutely loved this spot. The coffee was smooth, fresh, and honestly one of the best iced coffees I've had in Virginia Beach. The location made it even better, sitting by the water on a beautiful day with a drink was such a vibe. The staff was super friendly, service was quick, and everything felt really welcoming and relaxing. Definitely a perfect little coffee run spot for sunny mornings or afternoon drives. Can't wait to come back!

Although we sat outside (because we were dining with a dog), we never had to wait too long for the waitress to check on us. Every 5-10 minutes, she dropped by to make sure things were going well and to refill our coffee. Since The Egg Bistro has a HUGE breakfast menu, I'm sure everyone should be able to find something that they will/might enjoy. For my dining pleasure, I tried something new and went with the Bennie & the Grits. This dish piqued my interest because I never heard of grits cakes in the four decades of living on this planet. For about 20 bucks, the dish included three fried grit cakes with ground sausage, grilled shrimp, more sausage, two poached eggs and a side. Although the serving size was HUGE, I was not a bit fan of the dish. Note, I didn't think the dish was prepared badly, I just didn't get the concept of the fried grits (this from a grits lover); however, everything else with the dish was pretty good. If you are a Bloody Mary lover, you might some interesting varieties of Bloody Marys here. Additionally, I really appreciated that The Egg Bistro ranks the Bloody Marys based on spice level. Overall, I definitely would not mind visiting this location during a future trip to Va Beach. The only (very) minor issue that I had was that the outdoor seating is right next to the parking lot so you might experience some exhaust fumes/smoke while eating if you chose to dine outside. Again, this would not have been a (very) minor issue if we were not dining with a dog.

The wait can be long, especially on weekends, but the experience while waiting actually adds to the charm. There's an outdoor bar with plenty of drinks to choose from, covered patios for relaxing, and even board games to enjoy while you wait for your table. The service was excellent from start to finish. Plant Bingo at Sage Kitchen was a fun evening overall. Check-in was smooth, and the staff did a…read moregreat job explaining how the game worked and what to expect before everything got started. The game itself was lively, well-paced, and everyone seemed to have a great time. The patio where the event was held is beautiful, and it was spacious enough for the crowd. The only downside to the seating was that some guests ended up behind a wall where they could hear the caller but couldn't actually see her or the plants being awarded. One suggestion that I think would make the event even better is the prize structure. When there are ties, the winners have to play rock-paper-scissors to determine who gets the plant. While that's part of the fun, I felt bad for the people who won their bingo card but ultimately went home with a donated T-shirt, soil, or plant food instead of a plant. Even a small, inexpensive plant for the runner-up would make the experience feel more rewarding, especially since the event is centered around plants. The food and service were a bit of a mixed experience. I ordered the California Club with sweet potato fries, and it was delicious. However, the menu was more limited than expected, and we were told some of the regular menu items (including the tacos!) weren't available during the event. Our server was genuinely pleasant and did the best she could, but she appeared to be covering more tables than one person reasonably should. Service was slow, and we had to remind her about our drinks after our food had already arrived. It felt more like a staffing issue than a service issue. One thing I didn't care for was the payment process. We were only brought a credit card slip with the total to add a tip and sign after our card had already been charged. We had to specifically ask for an itemized receipt to review the charges. I would have preferred the opportunity to see the bill before my card was run or at least have the option to use a different payment method. The event advertising was also a little misleading. The description said, "Join us for 20 rounds of bingo, raffle entries, plant prizes, tacos & drinks!" Based on that wording, it certainly sounded like tacos and non-alcoholic beverages were included with the ticket price. Instead, everything had to be purchased separately, and we were told the tacos (which are on the regular restaurant menu) weren't even available during the event due to the limited event menu. Clarifying that food and drinks are available for purchase would help set better expectations. Despite those issues, we genuinely enjoyed ourselves. I was fortunate enough to win one of the plants, and it's beautiful. My suggestions are simply things I think would make an already fun event even better for everyone. The energy of Plant Bingo, the beautiful patio, the organized check-in, and the friendly atmosphere made for an enjoyable evening, and with a few improvements to the prize distribution, staffing, payment process, and event advertising, it could easily become an even better experience.

I recently attended plant bingo hosted at Sage Kitchen located inside the Anderson garden Center…read more  I was promptly greeted and directed to the check-in table. The check-in process was seamless; my group received our bingo cards and the flyer outlining the 20 game plays, and we appreciated the flexibility of the indoor and outdoor seating. The service was both friendly and efficient. We were required to start a tab; I was unsure if this is standard policy or specific to the event, but either way it worked out well. I ordered the Baja bowl: grilled chicken, black beans, corn, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and avocado served on cilantro-lime rice topped with tortilla strips and Aji Verde sauce. My bowl was delicious, fresh and portioned just right. The plant selections for the prizes were great, I actually won a Pothos Yellow Flame. I do have two suggestions: 1. Consider having extra plant prizes available for tie-breaking rounds instead of playing rock-paper-scissors. If you win you deserve a plant. 2. It would be helpful if guests were provided with a copy of their bill to verify for accuracy before their card is charged and the tab is closed. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the event. I look forward to returning to Sage Kitchen soon.

My mom and I decided to try this place out since our regular Sunday breakfast spot was closed that day. The visit here was on April 5, 2026. This restaurant was pretty easy to find once we came into the shopping center. There are quite a few businesses along the stretch this restaurant is located at. When you first come up, you can see the darker colors on the outside of the business. There were also a few info boards in front of the limited outdoor seating available. It was pretty early in the morning, so it wasn't too busy yet when we came in, though when we were done, it was much busier. There is quite a bit of indoor seating available. The overall theme inside does have a breakfast type of vibe to it as well. We were immediately greeted and seated when we came in. Our server Anna was pretty quick to come to the table and introduce herself. We weren't ready to choose what we wanted to eat or drink yet as we had really just gotten seated, but she gave us a few moments and then we were ready to order drinks. My mom went with coffee, but I figured I would try their Bloody Mary. She was good about checking the age too. After the drinks came out, we were then ready to order the breakfast courses. I decided to go with the Mallorca French Toast entree with coconut syrup and Argentinian Chorizo as the protein. My mom decided to go with the Scrambled Eggs (Two Eggs) with crispy bacon, white toast, and breakfast fries. While waiting for the food to come out, I tried the Bloody Mary, which was very good. It wasn't too spicy, which is the way I prefer to have it. The flavor combination was good for that. After ordering, the food came out about ten minutes later, which is about the time I would expect with the order we had. The Mallorca French Toast looked really good. My mom's order looked good too. The Mallorca French Toast was quite the indulgence. This was the first time I had had that type of bread. The bread was soft, fluffy, and easy on the mouth too. The coconut syrup was a great complement to it, as I normally don't do syrups due to the sugar content. I knew this meal would likely spike my glucose, and it did, though not as high as I thought it might have gotten to. The Argentinian Chorizo was really good too and had a great flavor to it. I would definitely do that as a protein on future visits too, as you don't see that everywhere like you do bacon. Our server was great about checking in on us and asking if we had any questions or issues. Overall, this was a very good first experience coming here. The food, service, and such were great. I want to note that there wasn't a surcharge for using a credit card as of the time of this visit. Since their menu has lunch type items too, I would come back and try some of those items in the future. If you're looking for a different take on breakfast places, this place is worth checking out.

I ordered the Williamsburg Bagel, which consisted of lox, plain cream cheese, tomato, capers, and red onion. I've had the Williamsburg Bagel before so I was excited to enjoy it again but I wasn't a big fan of the thick-cut red onions they added on there, and I actually love onions! Unfortunately, I ended up taking most of them off. I also wish it had more cream cheese, the thin layer on the bottom just wasn't enough for me. My husband and a friend came here on a Thursday morning to order 6 items and they were gone for almost an hour (it was a 10 minute drive from where we stayed). They come back with a bag of "bagels" (if that's what you want to call them) drenched in ketchup. Our orders were extremely simple: BEC w/PK on a plain bagel Egg and cheese on a croissant BEC w/PK on an asiago bagel Taylored Ham, egg & cheese on a bagel Toasted everything bagel with lox & cream cheese Here is everything that went wrong: 1. The bagel store didn't offer BACON, so we ended up substituting for sausage. The sausage patty was probably the size of my kid's palm- that's how small it was. The eggs were overcooked and had no taste, but don't worry, they'll make sure to smother the entire bagel with ketchup to make up for it. 2. TOASTED bagel with lox & cream cheese- bagel was not toasted, and there wasn't any lox available. 3. Egg & cheese on a croissant- the place didn't have any croissants... so had to substitute this for a roll 4. It was the chef's second day in the kitchen. Bagels alone wasn't great quality..it was edible enough, but extremely chewy and stiff, especially after taking so long to prepare the orders and with two people working in a place that is seemingly popular with the Yelp Community, the amount of time it took this order to be ready was a little ridiculous. I ordered the same thing back home the following day and it took less time to make here in NJ than it did here on a non-busy day with just my husband and friend as their sole customer at the time.
