Stopped by this café for a cozy breakfast date and we left impressed! My girlfriend tried the Blueberry Muffin Latte (hot), and I had the Coconut Cream Cold Brew. We both ordered the Bacon, Egg and Cheese on Croissant. First off, the drinks. The Blueberry Muffin Latte delivered exactly what it promised. It was creamy espresso with a hint of blueberry and a subtle muffin like sweetness. It wasn't overly sugary, and the blueberry didn't taste artificial. She aid it felt like a comforting hug in a mug. The Coconut Cream Cold Brew was fantastic. The cold brew had a nice boldness but wasn't bitter, and the coconut flavor was smooth and not overpowering. The cream added just the right amount of richness, making every sip refreshing and indulgent. If you like cold coffee drinks, this one's worth a try! Both of us ordered the Bacon, Egg and Cheese on Croissant, which came out perfect! I had my egg over medium, hers was overy easy. The croissant was perfectly buttery and crispy, and the bacon was thick-cut and flavorful. The eggs were fluffy, and the cheese melted just right. It was hearty enough for breakfast or brunch and paired so well with our drinks. They have a case filled with delicious looking pastries, which I must try next time. Service was friendly and quick, and the café itself had a relaxed vibe that made us want to linger. The vibe of it kind of reminded me of the rainforest cafe haha! Stopped by this coffee shop and honestly it's such a vibe. The space is beautiful with tons of photo-worthy spots, and I love that they even have their own merch--t-shirts and hoodies included. Okay... I get the hype! I ordered the Blueberry lemon pancakes, blueberry lemon latte, kids fruit cup and the bacon egg and cheese croissant. Everything was delicious. I do wish the fruit cup was bigger and had more strawberries but the actual cooked food was super yummy. I didn't even get a picture of the croissant but it was devoured so quickly. The coffee was really good, I should have asked for it to be extra sweet but honestly it was still good as is. I can't wait for them to open to new location close to me. One of my favorite coffee shops in VA Beach. This is my second time coming here this weekend. I got the Iced tiramisu latte and the peanut butter power toast. I dined in and most of the tables were not wiped down so I had to wipe down an area to sit at. The coffee is amazing and the peanut butter power toast is delicious!! It has bananas, strawberries, peanut butter and a strawberry glaze on top of a multigrain piece of bread. I will have to try their chicken salad sandwich next time. read more

The avocado toast is OUT OF THIS WORLD! They use the freshest ingredients! The service is quick and someone either brings you your items or calls your name. The drink was super good, I probably could have put a drop of sweetener it in but it came pretty sweet compared to other matchas. I love the food here. It's never what I would imagine ordering for myself but I'm never disappointed! I always think I'll go safe and get their delicious pastries but then dare and get the salmon specials or other hot foods and they are sooo good. The only thing I was disappointed in was the hot chocolate. In the past it's always been amazing like a sipping chocolate. Super thick and creamy and rich. I've been in this cute little coffee shop a couple of times now. It's got a chill, natural vibe with lots of greenery and plentiful light from all the windows. The music might be slightly too loud for readers to sit with a book, but would be perfectly good if you like music while you work. The lattes I've had have been very good. My most recent option was the tiramisu latte, which was thankfully not too sweet. I had a chocolate croissant that was light, flaky, and had the perfect amount of chocolate. Baristos/as are always warm and friendly. I live in Chesapeake, or I'd probably stop in more often. But it is a great spot to drop in for a brew when I am in the area. read more

I had NO idea this was out here and let me tell you, I am impressed. I am GF so I had the the apple cinnamon parfait and my husband had pumpkin pancakes. Both were amazing. The smoked salmon sandwich was refreshing, my grandson ordered the cat panna cotta because of how cute it was, but he did not like the texture (wasn't sure he would), so I finished it for him . I went with three friends in between pickle ball games, and we all loved our choices. My potato bowl was delicious; just the right amount of spice. The sandwiches looked fresh and delicious. The pistachio cold foam iced was very refreshing. My friend enjoyed her key lime drink so much she got one more to go! This review is wayyy overdue. Operation Brew Cafe and Coffee Shop is by far my favorite coffee shop anywhere let alone Hampton Roads. I have been coming here since they opened their doors. Even though they have exceptional drinks of all kinds I almost always exclusively get the "Raf" first drink on the menu and it is truly the perfect latte. Every other shop uses syrups for their flavoring and they do as well, except with this drink. The syrups, no matter the brand or even if they are "house-made" always leave either a not so good aftertaste or something to be desired, but not with the Raf, they use a vanilla sugar instead of a syrup and steam the milk and coffee together instead of pouring the steamed milk in making an exceptionally smooth and creamy latte either that perfect hint of vanilla sweetness. It's literally perfect ‍. Coffee aside, their customer service is the best around, always treat you like family with a smile and go out of their way to make sure your time with them is a positive experience to remember. Their food is fantastic, their baked goods and desserts are heavenly, and the atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful, even when they are packed. How this place doesn't have all 5 stars quite literally confounds me as I have been here countless times and never had a bad experience. Have they made mistakes, of course, but none of them have ever detracted away from their exceptional service and they always make good on their mistakes. If you are the type to go in one time based off of reviews and happen to have a bad or not so exceptional experience, keep your comments to yourself until you at least give them another shot or a chance to fix their mistake. Girls weekend and we needed additional coffee to continue our day. And we like trying out locals spots. Operation brew came up highly recommended and had won this years best restaurant so here we are. I tried the pistachio latte while the other gals had dirty chai cold brew and tiramisu latte with lavender. One also ordered a tuna sandwich and she devoured it heartily. I really enjoyed my drink and loved the little pieces of pistachio sprinkled. Pistachio is my favorite nut. Service very good and staff friendly. Love the fall decor and chill vibe. read more

Love love love! I just moved here a few months ago and this is one of my favorite coffee shops. The coffee and the food is top tier. I absolutely love the seasonal breakfast potato bowl, I've ordered it twice. I tried a peach latte for the first time and it was amazing. I've also had regular coffees and they are super good too. Not expensive either. I wouldn't say that it is cheap, but it's definitely great food for a good price. Also great working/studying vibes. read more

Had an impromptu lunch with my friend when I found out she was in the area. I ordered the quiche sandwich that was on the summer menu. It was a spinach quiche with roasted tomatoes, arugula and pesto mayo on a ciabatta roll. I am not exaggerating when I say I think that was the best sandwich I've ever had in my entire life. The ciabatta was soft but with a crispy crust. The pesto gave it really good flavor, the roasted tomatoes were delicious and that quiche was fluffy but not overly wet like some quiches can be. I'm sad this is a seasonal offering. I'm going to have to order it a few more times before it's gone. Honorable mention to the key lime coconut refresher. It was, indeed, refreshing. This place is awesome. I got the key lime coconut refresher and mango lime bar twice. The refresher is probably one of my favorite drinks ever (I think it was a summer special). I would get it every day if I could. The mango bar had really great texture and was enjoyable but I couldn't really distinguish a particular flavor. I finally had the opportunity to try Operation Brew and I'm so glad I did! As soon as I walked in, I couldn't help but notice how beautiful the interior was! I absolutely loved the decor. Since I was craving an iced coffee, I asked for some recommendations and was told the Lavender Latte was very popular so I decided to try it out. I really wanted to try the Tiramisu Latte, which was apart of their Summer Specials Menu, but unfortunately, they were out of the tiramisu flavor. All of their baked goods looked delicious! All of the items are made in house and are European inspired so I decided on the Honey Cake. The Lavender Iced Latte was definitely unique and different from any other latte I've ever tasted and surprisingly, it was very good! The lavender flavor wasn't overpowering at all. The Honey Cake was absolutely amazing!!! It wasn't super sweet but the thin layers of cake paired wonderfully with the cream filling! One slice simply wasn't enough! Since I don't live too far from Operation Brew, I will definitely be returning sooner than later. Someone close by ordered the Avocado Toast and it looked absolutely delicious so I can't wait to try that out as well! Beautiful cafe with delicious food and drinks!! I've been here a number of times and have always had a pleasant experience. There is plenty of seating that can accommodate single occupants with their laptops to larger groups (5-6?) for a social meet up. They serve a wide variety of desserts & pastries from the front display, made to order food like sandwiches on their menu, and delicious coffee!! my only gripe is how far away it is from me haha. Parking also may be limited as it is located on a narrow strip but I've never had a big issue! read more

I saw this cute little spot on Instagram and it really caught my eye, not just because of how stylish and modern the inside seating looked but the food pics and reels looked stunning! It was giving elevated Starbucks vibes with more greenery and luxury. My fiancé and I ordered quite a few things and were not disappointed with ANY of them. We started off with the tiramisu latte and iced matcha latte. It's not a sit down and order kind of deal but a stand in line, take your order and take a number kind of situation. I like my matcha a little on the sweeter side and thank goodness the cashier asked me because she warned me the matcha is not very sweet on its own. I did not realize you could add different flavored syrups to sweeten it so I went with her suggestion of adding strawberry to it. Best. Decision. Ever. Oh my goodness I would go back JUST for that. The tiramisu latte was a little more on the bitter side but got sweeter the more you drank it (I probably could have also stirred it). The avocado toast was amazing. The egg on top and sprinkles of feta were immaculate. The smoked salmon was pretty great, the perfect ratio of salmon to veggies. The aioli in the sandwich was *chefs kiss! The chocolate raspberry croissant was so fluffy in the chocolate mousse and the croissant was super flaky. The Syrniki cheese pancakes were not as sweet as I expected, however still good! I imagined them to be a little more fluffy and light. A little heavier than expected, not my cup of tea but I don't regret trying it! The fruit and Greek yogurt on the side as well as the caramel definitely helped. All in all this place was a 10 out of 10 for me from the food to the vibes to the service. All this food we ordered (between my fiancé and I) kept us full for breakfast and lunch. We skipped lunch and only ate 2 meals that day haha. my family really likes this place, like they go a few times a week. today was my first time joining them and I like the inside. The staff was really nice. All their bakery items looked great, but I only got a cold brew with sugar-free caramel today and I was just extremely disappointed and probably because this place is so hyped up. but the cold brew was not good. i don't know if it's the syrups they use but it was just undrinkable. they also DONT carry soy milk so that's another disappointment. i won't write this place off though, ill be back and maybe ill be able to find a drink i like :) read more

What a vibe Operation Brew is! My friend and I had some lunch at Clayton's next door and decided to carry our conversation over to Operation Brew Coffee and Bakery (OBCB). First, love this new trend of bringing the outdoors inside. There is a plant wall, and the main centerpiece is the straw lamp shades and an accent plant ceiling thing (I don't know what you call this, but look through the pictures). Even the cups and glasses are beautiful! The owners of this place really did a phenomenal job handpicking the items to create this vibe and has very good taste! I opted for a strawberry bliss latte and a Napoleon cake. They said it has condensed milk, say less. The latte was berry good ;) and the cake was great too. I heard that this shop was Ukrainian owned, so a lot of the pastries showcase this. Service was friendly and they brought the items to us. Although our visit was short, we had a great time. I always like to observe what kind crowd a business attracts, and I was glad to see all sorts, from moms groups, to students or remote workers.
