Meat Lovers Omelette and Corned Beef Hash & Eggs
Shay H.

We ordered the Meat Lovers Omelet, Corned Beef Hash with Eggs, the Cinnamon French Toast, and a pancake. Both main dishes were excellent--the omelet was hearty and flavorful, while the corned beef hash with eggs was cooked perfectly. The Cinnamon French Toast, made with freshly baked French bread, was a highlight-super soft, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. The only disappointment was the pancake. The texture was unlike anything I've had before, and it had a hint of citrus that I didn't quite enjoy. Parking usually sucks down at the oceanfront for most places, but to our surprise, this restaurant has a small lot on the side of the building, and we were lucky enough to grab a space. The portion sizes are huge, so we definitely felt like we got our money's worth. There was plenty of seating and a nice vibe overall, though we did notice a slight unfavorable odor inside-not unbearable, but worth mentioning. Overall, the experience was wonderful. The service was friendly and efficient, we were seated and served very quickly. Despite the pancake, everything else was fantastic, and we would definitely dine here again.

I came here for brunch and got the meat lover omelette ($15) it came out in about 20 minutes. I was surprised by the size of the omelette, it was gigantic probably about 4ish eggs used. There was also a lot of meat as well, which surprisingly was a bit overwhelming. The potatoes were crispy however I'm not sure if they were supposed to be seasoned or not. Adding salt and pepper afterwards and the potatoes were quite solid. Staff were very nice and checked up on us. Overall some fantastic value for the amount of food you get for the price and the taste is quite solid. I would definitely come back again! Avocado Toast

Was really excited due to the rating but ended up somehow disappointed. We went for a later breakfast and it was almost empty. The place looks really nice and service was ok. We ordered a breakfast combo (eggs, bacon, toast, etc), an avocado toast (these 2 were great), eggs Benedict (that said it would come with a biscuit and it didn't) and French toast (that also didn't come with any kind of sugar or syrup or anything - even though we requested it - it was just bland and just a piece of bread basically). Our mochas were good but tasted more like chocolate milk than coffee really. Overall we had half of it good and right while the other half was "messy". Also not cheap at all, it cost us almost like a lunch out. It was ok but won't come back

The delicious "adult latte" Andy crafted for me. Think a warm espresso martini. Soooo yummy! Perfect for a rainy day!

So good, we went back the following day! We wanted to share pics this time. Yet again, the food, service, overall hospitality, and music were excellent! I wanted an espresso martini but also wanted something warm on this rainy day. Andy created a delicious "adult latte" that was exactly what I was looking for! Thanks again, Carrie and Andy! We love this place! See you next summer, if not sooner!

We dropped our grandson off at work and decided to look for a place to sit , chat and a bite to eat. I have a list of restaurants that I would love to visit. We came across Cafe Atlantic and decided to give it a try. The decor is very relaxing and beautiful , the service was great and the lady taking our order was very nice and communicated very well with us throughout our visit. Over all I must say it was 10/10. The food was excellent and we will definitely be back

There are very rare times when you go to a place for a reason then leave with an entirely surprising and lasting experience. Cafe Atlantic is a true rare gem. I was door dashing, the app wasn't cooperating and there weren't lots of offers. I had always wanted to try Cafe Atlantic and I happened to be in the area with only 30 minutes until closing time. There is a cozy, simple yet modern vibe. The bar was inviting so I picked a seat. There were pastries in cloches on the bar table. Andy (whom I later found out is the owner) was welcoming and warm and personable. He didn't make me feel rushed even when he calmly explained the breakfast buffet closes at 1pm but I can most certainly order from the menu. I ordered the avocado toast with choice of how I wanted my egg cooked - sunny side up. The avocado toast came out seemingly fresh, the egg perfectly cooked to my liking. I unfortunately got a door dashing order so only had time to eat the egg and was given a box for my toasts, which I thoroughly enjoyed on the road, with everything but the bagel seasoning providing the toasts with just the right amount of saltiness and texture. The unexpected part came when Andy was kind to offer iced water (with twist of lemon) for me to take with me while I door dashed. Not only did this brain child of a restaurant manifest in its ambiance and food, but its spirit was in the care that Andy takes to make sure his customers were taken care of - now that's more than just an establishment, it was a sense of community beyond what is served! Cafe Atlantic is definitely infinitely a place I recommend for everyone to try. What you won't see are the far more stars than the 5 stars I can rate with this review. Thanks Andy, for the conversation, the water to go and the wonderful feeling beyond the delightful avocado toasts!

Although we sat outside (because we were dining with a dog), we never had to wait too long for the waitress to check on us. Every 5-10 minutes, she dropped by to make sure things were going well and to refill our coffee. Since The Egg Bistro has a HUGE breakfast menu, I'm sure everyone should be able to find something that they will/might enjoy. For my dining pleasure, I tried something new and went with the Bennie & the Grits. This dish piqued my interest because I never heard of grits cakes in the four decades of living on this planet. For about 20 bucks, the dish included three fried grit cakes with ground sausage, grilled shrimp, more sausage, two poached eggs and a side. Although the serving size was HUGE, I was not a bit fan of the dish. Note, I didn't think the dish was prepared badly, I just didn't get the concept of the fried grits (this from a grits lover); however, everything else with the dish was pretty good. If you are a Bloody Mary lover, you might some interesting varieties of Bloody Marys here. Additionally, I really appreciated that The Egg Bistro ranks the Bloody Marys based on spice level. Overall, I definitely would not mind visiting this location during a future trip to Va Beach. The only (very) minor issue that I had was that the outdoor seating is right next to the parking lot so you might experience some exhaust fumes/smoke while eating if you chose to dine outside. Again, this would not have been a (very) minor issue if we were not dining with a dog.

In the backyard of the house, there's a playground and picnic tables, making this a cute spot to bring the little ones while you enjoy a treat outside too. Of course, I ordered a Lavender Honey Latte because that's just my go to. It was beautifully and perfectly crafted! It was so delicious. At the end of the cup, I was debating ordering another because it was that good! I also order the breakfast bowl, but wish I hadn't. I knocked off one star due to the poor food experience. I waited maybe 15 mins or so for my food to be ready (no biggy as I wasn't in a rush). But when I bit into my food, it was cold. The eggs were inedible. The bacon was chilled and I guess served in syrup. The avocado was perfectly ripe. Overall, I wouldn't recommend the breakfast bowl, especially not this for $15+ dollars. If I visit again, I'll stick with the lattes and skip the food!

For a Sunday at 9AM, it was not busy which was great since I was on a time crunch. It's an old, rustic farmhouse that when you walk in, truly feels like you're walking into someone's home. I ordered an iced latte with their homemade strawberry syrup and almond milk, and my friend got a black cold brew. The strawberry syrup was incredible. Not too sweet, and it was the PERFECT addition to my usual coffee order. 10/10 recommend for you strawberry fans. The food menu looked fantastic, but I was not hungry so we settled for the liquid diet this morning. But, the burrito and the pimento BLT definitely caught my eye for next time. The inside is super cute, with such a cool vibe. It would be a great place to come back with my laptop to get work done! We sat outside before it started to get too hot, and it truly felt like we were at someones house, drinking coffee on their porch. Such a cozy vibe. I loved this spot.

Everything was amazing here and I can't recommend this place enough. Also, the bar looks amazing with lots of drink specials. They do add an 18% gratuity in all checks. Brilliant idea. The hostess took our name and phone number and we received a txt when our table was ready. The hostess was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance was amazing. Since it is mainly a seafood restaurant the aesthetic was ocean or bay themed. They had great decorations of coral reef and other things found in the ocean around the restaurant. They had a great seating area for patrons who were waiting for a table. The service was impeccable. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Since it was our first time at this restaurant we were unsure about what we should order. She gave great suggestions. We ordered the fried oysters, oyster burger, and shrimp with vegetables and eggs. We also ordered a pineapple crush and the localizer. The food was very flavorful and fresh. The oyster burger was very unique it had a fried oyster on top of the patty which was great. It was cooked to perfection and very juicy. The fried oysters were great as well. They came with Pita bread and spinach dip to make an oyster sandwich. Amazing!!! The drinks were on point as well. They weren't too strong but they weren't weak either. I recommend trying out this restaurant if you are in the area. It is totally worth the wait.

I also won gift certificates for Selden Market, and they were burning a hole in my mind. So early on Sunday morning, my partner and I trek from VA Beach to Downtown Norfolk. After a few phone calls to their owner, I could use my gift certificate. We ordered the classic chicken and waffle for my partner (without Captain Crunch or powdered sugar), and since I was in the mood for sweet and savory - I ordered the Grandma waffle. The Grandma waffle is a full-size waffle featuring scrambled eggs, breaded chicken, strawberries, blueberries, and powdered sugar. To drink, my partner grabbed a coffee, and since I firmly believed in brunch, I grabbed a mimosa. Our drinks were the second best part of our dining experience (the first was the customer service). The waffles were lackluster. The chicken and waffle only feature the equivalent of one chicken tender split into four pieces. I wished I had photo evidence, but my partner said, 'Nope, don't photograph this. ' My waffle was better. The strawberries, blueberries, and powdered sugar helped compensate for the lack of sweetness in the waffle. My waffle was also filler since I had more toppings, but another chicken tender would be friendly.
